The TANK, A252353, has the perfect neckline and shoulder straps, wide enough for comfort, but still looks modern and young. What also makes this tank special is the way the neckline is finished. The armhole is PIPED, and most would finish the neckline the same, which is perfectly acceptable…but….I wanted THIS TANK to have a more DESIGNER look…. a dressier finish, so the neckline is faced with an 1 1/4 inch facing and a 1 inch top stitch. It lays absolutely flat against the body, and has a very expensive look. Actually, it is more expensive to finish this tank in this way. For all of you sewers out there you know what it takes to sew in a facing perfectly and what a challenge it is to do it with a stretchy knit!……The tank is approx. 23 inches long for the xs. I would definitely suggest to buy your normal size. This fabric is 96% Rayon and 4% Spandex, so there is lots of stretch. I have used this fabric many times…..the cowl neck tunic with the asymmetric hem, the body suit, the dance skirt etc etc…….As I always tell you…..there are all grades and weights and QUALITIES of fabrics and not all fabrics under the RAYON/SPAN UMBRELLA are equal! I have never had one complaint that this quality of rayon span pills or is too thin. The weight of this RAYON/SPAN is definitely heavier than most …..it is a QUALITY FABRIC, a DESIGNER QUALITY FABRIC…………………The BLACK BOLERO SHRUG above is my WK, A232520, and is just back in stock………..it really is the perfect proportion to wear with this TANK & LONG SKIRT………………………….
The SKIRT, A252354, is a PULL-ON SKIRT as you would expect, but since the fabric is so stretchy there is very little shirring in the elastic waist band….it is almost flat. This prevents any extra fabric at the tummy and rear…Why is this important?….because when you wear an over top, like the tank, it is nice and smooth. This is not a maxi skirt length….it measures 35 inches from the bottom of the waist band. There also is not a great sweep to this skirt…..just enough to fall and drape gracefully, as you can see in the photos. If you must shorten….it’s an easy alteration as this skirt has, and needs, no lining………I really can’t think of a more IDEAL long skirt….one I know you will wear for years and years………….my only suggestion would be………you might want to get TWO in the BLACK…..just to be sure………..scroll down………………….much Love…………………………………..Louis
The second color being offered in the TANK, A252353 & the SKIRT, A252354 is……………………..TWIG……….For all of my neutral color lovers….this is for you……As a COLUMN of COLOR, it is rich and looks very CHIC & so DESIGNER, but it can easily be mixed with a range of colors,,,,from white and ivory to black, walnut and navy……not to mention my TWIG/WHITE end on end LINEN BLEND jacket and pant coming in April. I will say this is a difficult color to match up with other solid fabrics in TWIG……As hard as we tried they are off as you can see with the TWIG WK BOLERO, A232520, above. For those of you who want it exact exact….it is not…I would then suggest a contrast color. I however, find it an acceptable tonal match and would definitely wear them together. Taupes [which twig is in the family of], and greys are the hardest colors to match fabric to fabric. Of course, since the tank and skirt where cut from the same lots of fabric,,,,they match perfectly. You really can have fun accessorizing this color. I have chosen Horn and bone necklaces from my personal collection to use in the photos, but my BRONZE FACETED GLASS BEADS, J284043, and DROP EARRING,J284042, are the perfect compliment to TWIG……Silver, gunmetal and chocolate are all metals that look wonderful with Twig……Turquoise, butter, nectar, hot pink, lime, navy and black are just a few accent colors that work beautifully with Twig…………….you can go NEUTRAL all the way, or accent TWIG with COLOR………both look equally good……….scroll down……………………………………..
