“THE AQUA & LIGHT TAN SAFARI SHIRT”

mixed

……………….The SAFARI SHIRT, A214117, is back and ready for ordering!……………At the beginning of each spring/summer season there is great anticipation about what the new colors in the safari shirt will be. The suggestions were tallied and I made my decision. I hope you understand that not all of the colors you suggested can be chosen….so I made the decision, not only on all of your suggestions, but what is “in the air”….fashion wise…………One of the colors that received the most votes was AQUA…..This is a color that I introduced first as a Whisper Knit, and it sold out immediately. Since then it has been one of my most popular colors, and I have used it for many things….. from more Whisper Knit sweaters to a Crepe jacket and pant,A253576 [a very European look with the Aqua shirt] Denim pants, A252357, a Linea Leisure Hoodie,A262064….my personal favorite of all the colors, and the Lace, and now the BOHO skirt too! ………The skirts should be avail in March……..LIGHT TAN is also a new color being introduced in the Safari shirt, and later in the season….the BOHO skirt will also be avail with the Aqua! The new Light Tan is a great match to the slim ponte pant in Light Khaki…. that has sold out and many of you love…….It also blends beautifully with the new L.L crop pant with the cuffed bottom, A273859…………….For my newest Linea Ladies who may not be familiar with this shirt…..a little history…..The Safari shirt is a very classic shirt that I introduced about four or five years ago. It has a classic shirt collar and stand, roll up sleeves with tabs, and two front pockets with flaps. It has a placket button front and side slits……So what gives this shirt an edge? First it is the fabric. I chose a sheer crinkle georgette [the same fabric as the Boho skirt] This is an easy care fabric….easy to pack and one of the airest, coolest shirts you will put on your bodies when the summer heat and humidity sets in………The BUTTONS are REAL ABALONE SHELL. I doubt very much that you will see many shirts offered at QVC, or in retail stores for that matter, with real shell buttons outside of very expensive designer shirts. For some shirt colors I have chosen to use the back side of the shell for a sportier look, and some will be on the smooth side dyed to match…….The sleeve has a 3/4 length and is finished with a straight bottom….no cuff…………Due to the fact that the fabric is sheer….I have also provided a separate tank shell in a faux crepe de Chine. As an added detail I have provided a lingerie thread strap with a snap on the inside of the tank straps. This may seem inconsequential, but it is HAND WORK, and takes time to do….and time is money. This “minor” detail could have easily been left off, but it is these details that separates my clothes from all the others. This may or may not matter to you, but it is a sign of QUALITY………………………..enjoy………………………..much Love…………………………Louis

Will there be a lilac safari shirt to match the boho skirt? I have the skirt and love the color. Thanks!

Yes….I believe it will be avail in May if not sooner since it’s a reorder style. They usually post them as soon as they are processed.

And to add, my 2 safari shirts w tank in both of the new colors is set to arrive tomorrow or on Thursday.

Beautiful! Gotta get the aqua. So tempted by the light tan, such a fitting color for a safari shirt. Afraid it might wash me out, not my best color but may just try it anyway. Thanks for the pics!

I LOVE both colors, Louis. Together, they remind me of my happiest place, the beach…sand and Caribbean aqua blue water. Both will be coming home to me!

How much I love your sand-and-sea comparison for the two shirts, Grace.

Thank you, Goldie! That was my very first thought…Maybe it’s because I’m craving the beach so much with all the snow on the ground! Are you having a mild winter back East?

        1. Goldie76

We were cruising through December with almost balmy temps and then that dreadful Jonas clobbered us. My backyard had 29 inches of snow. There have been some frigid days throughout January, and I understand that Valentine’s Day will have a chilly high of 24. But spring is on its way! How was Kayla? That was your storm’s name, correct? Stay warm and safe. We are getting something again tonight into tomorrow. The beach beckons.

          1. louis dell'olio

We had about 4 inches of snow and Jac just informed me it started to snow again. Since when did they start naming snow storms?!

            1. Goldie76

I don’t know. So glad you asked, Louis, because I thought I missed out on something. At first ours was “Snowzilla,” but then they started calling it “Jonas.” We had “Snowmageddon” down here around 2010, but I never heard of these hurricane-type names before this season. I think you are going to get a lot of snow. At least Boston and higher will. Stay warm and safe.

I love whisper knits, etc. but I’m ready for boho’s, gauze, maxis, feather jersey and pebble crepe!
The storms are named by the Weather Channel. Publicity?

            3. louis dell'olio

Judi….did they always name snow storms or is this something new? I don’t recall any other blizzard given a name before this year.

            4. Judi

I read they started this 2 years ago (I guess I missed the memo!). The Nat’l Weather Service and NOAA don’t seem to acknowledge the names.
They can call it Jason if they wish, but I called it The Blizzard (over 30 inches)!
              Stay dry and warm!

            5. Grace

Louis, I didn’t know snowstorms were named either, until another Linea Lady on the forum told me! In fact, she looked up the name of the most recent one in Colorado, Kayla. I wonder why it’s necessary…maybe it makes it easier to ID, if the storm triggers a state of emergency. Just a guess…

            6. Chris/Jazzmom

The Weather Channel started this within the past 2 years by naming winter storms. I guess they were bored! LOL Anyway, Campbell’s Soup Company in conjunction with the Weather Channel will change the words ‘the storm that will bring 3′ of snow to the area’ to have the named storm in its commercials in appropriate areas. This is the commercial with the woman and her 2 kids in a supermarket cart grabbing a bottle of wine before she checks out with her tomato soup! I heard on the TV the day Jonas hit, that commercial with the words ‘Jonas’ in it! I did a double take and had to reverse it to rehear it! LOL

Goldie, considering the outcome of the game, I’d say your priest and mine sent up quite a few prayers for the Broncos! The win was especially poignant this year because the beloved owner, Pat Bowlen, is suffering with Alzheimer’s, and this was Peyton Manning’s last chance at another Super Bowl win…So, good feelings all around.

          2. Grace

Goldie, 29 inches? Oh boy, that’s a lot! Yes, “Kayla” left more than a foot of snow behind, but today, it’s in the high 50’s (just in time for the Bronco Parade!) and the rest of the week should feel like Springtime in the Rockies. So, we’ve got a major snow melt in the works. I hope this mild weather heads your way, Goldie, but in the meantime, stay warm and safe. Our beach days are just around the corner…

            1. Goldie76

Congrats on the Broncos, Grace! My priest served in Denver for a period of time, and he brought in a celebratory cloth given to him when they won years ago and showed it to us. The congregation got a good chuckle from his anecdote. I am sure he prayed for their victory.

The aqua is even more beautiful than I imagined. Both new colors are coming to me as is the aqua
    boho skirt. Another Linea winner.
