“WHITE GAUZE TUNIC”

tunics

…………………Memorial Day is here!…..and the unofficial start of summer has begun…..However….WHITE is now officially allowed, and there isn’t a better way to start then introducing ….A273867….  the new…….WHITE GAUZE TUNIC…….You have seen glimpses of this top already, and now here it is………..It is made in the same fabric as the zip front gauze jacket, A276280……Thinking of adjectives to describe this new tunic…the word that kept popping into my head was….PRISTINE………Every detail…every finish was done to give this top the look and feel of weightlessness…….There are no extra facings to add bulk or weight….the neckline is PIPED, the hems are narrow, and the 3/4 sleeve has a tab and a large REAL SHELL BUTTON for an easy roll up. The sample on my form is an XS. The front length is approx. 28 1/2 inches and the back is approx. 2 3/8 ths inches longer than the front….for a well proportioned HIGH/LOW hem. The side slits gives the top a nice airy flowing effect…….This is an EASY FIT garment….YES, it is slightly over sized, but that is the look!!!!! I know the words over sized sends shivers up the backs of some of you so check the MEASUREMENTS!…..Truly….the only issue I see is for those who have very narrow shoulders…so please check out the shoulder measurement and neck opening……You may be able to size down one size it the bust measurement works for you…..Other than that I see no problems. This top should stand away from the body to allow air flow on those hot sticky days For the great majority of you your normal size should be just fine, and the way it’s supposed to look…..The cover of the new Women’s Wear Daily Magazine claims….OVER SIZED is wear it’s at….Well, it’s true that that is the direction….wider leg pants, whether long or cropped are definitely the new thing. Let’s face it skinny has been around quite a long time….it had to happen. I was never a believer in the “it has to be one look” philosophy, one way excluding all others is a bore…….”Variety is the spice of life” is definitely my mantra………….I think this is the perfect tunic….simple and easy uncomplicated, and unadorned…..This is the perfect background for all of your Linea Jewelry…..The PALM FROND short necklace, J290362, the long PALM FROND necklace, J290364, and the PALM FROND earring, J290363, all in GUNMETAL above……..For a very different look that has a very Caribbean vibe….the WATER FALL NECKLACE AND EARRING SET in white, J321804…The School of fish necklace….the three strand Nugget necklace, and the Egyptian bead necklace for example would all look great on this tunic top…..For the bottoms above…..A265615, the slim Grey pant, A262070/A262072, the white Linea Leisure pull on pant [all the colors look great]. Not pictured but recommended with the tunic are the A274374, Linea Body Capri legging [more coming in by 6/6] or the Linea Body classic legging, the new Cropped Gaucho and the new long Gauze Crepe pant. Any pencil skirt including the new WK skirt, A273880, will give the tunic a dressier look…….Going away on a trip or just going out with friends this will be the perfect COMFORTABLE choice……………………………………………………………………

…………………………enjoy………………..much Love……………..Louis

    Hi Louis,
I thought I would pass on some good news. I ordered two white and one yellow in the gauze tunic and love them all. Your selection of fabric is spot on. – love the crepe. Over the years you have really presented some unique fabrics – must be fun hunting for them. I am a senior that is size 12-14 so I need garments that help me hide my flaws. When that happens in clothes, they are worth every cent. I do not buy everything you sell but my closet has a fair number of things that are my favorites from years before – tops, pants, jackets, and jewelry. In my opinion, I really get my money’s worth. I am looking forward to the next collection of 2016.

    Hi Louis,
I really like this top. Will it be shown on June 8th? Though I keep looking, it hasn’t been posted for sale on QVC yet.
    Regards,
    Ruth

Louis, beautiful tops, and I want all 3! For women who are petite in stature, these appear to be easily ‘hemmable’ – are they? Thanks.

These are very easy to hem if you must, but I would say to try them first with different bottoms.

YES! AIR CIRCULATION! The absolute best way to dress for hot and humid summers! I learned this from experience as a Peace Corps volunteer serving on the northern coast of Colombia, a very tropical climate. No air conditioning of course in my site and nothing but a very small table top fan, which I felt very lucky to have after my first year there. We female volunteers were not allowed to wear shorts or pants of any kind, because we would broadcast the wrong image of us at that time in Colombia. Fallen Women wore pants LOL! Shirtwaist dresses or a skirt and a blouse were miserable to wear as they were fitted at the waist and trapped air. I had to make them myself, but I found that a dress that hung straight from my shoulders and flowed away from my body was the coolest thing I could put on my body. And that is what I wore, including on a return visit to my site in 2010.

Barbara in Virginia, I know what you mean about loose clothing being the coolest thing you could put on your body.
I was in the Peace Corps on an island called Eua in the Kingdom of Tonga. Lived in a small grass hut without electricity and provided medical care to the island. We did have tropical breezes though. The lovely women of Eua made my loose fitting, cool and comfortable dresses. I am looking forward to these gauze tunics from Linea.

Ah, another RPCV!!! We had breezes, but not until nightfall. Then everyone sat outside to talk. I miss those times!

Happy Memorial Day! What a nice surprise to check your blog as I do daily and see these sneak peeks. Love these simple airy tops for Florida. Tempted by all three colors. Not a yellow person usually, but love your yellow. So sunshiny and summery. And the azure is so beachy. Thanks! Have a nice holiday!
