XOXOXO Louis! Loved the shows yesterday, especially the part where you told everyone how much I love my bohos, lol. I have the blue print and red print on their way and can’t WAIT to have those sleeveless wing collared blouses to go with. Spring has arrived here (70 degrees outside right now at 9:25pm) so I’ll be wearing them as soon as they arrive. Looks like it’s going to be a warm Mardi Gras!

Dear Louis, Happy Valentines Day to you and Jac as well. I enjoyed the show I loved every minute of it. I learned new things about fabrics, buttons, and how things are made. I wish you could offer a class on “Know your Fabrics” so I could understand more. Someone was talking about cotton pique a few days ago and I was wondering what they were talking about. I find it all very interesting and the more I learn the more I want to know. Your designs were absolutely amazing and the models looked GREAT. It was a happy show. I love your sketches too. They are suitable for framing!!

Dear Amanda…..when you need to know info, like what pique is, I suggest you google it for a quick definition. I only wish fashion design students were as inquisitive as you! I love fabric so I very happy too too are wanting to know more.

Dear Louis, I do usually look things up in the computer. But I’m wondering if you can help me figure one thing out. When I was a child my dad had a shirt that looked green but if you looked at it in another direction it would look purple. He called it his magic shirt and we kids believed it to be magic. It had a shininess to it. I don’t know if that is enough to describe it well enough for you to know what I am talking about. I think it was in the 60’s (my childhood seems so vague now) But I remember that shirt. Do you have a clue what it may have been? Or maybe some Linea ladies may know what I am talking about. Also remember catalogs would have these little patches of cloth cut with pinking shears and it would say “feel the fabric”. I kept them in a little box for some reason. I thought they were pretty. Ahh the memories. Things sure have changed now with disposable clothes, no one ever mends things they just throw them out.

Dear Amanda….The effect you sleek of is created by using one color in the warp [horizontal weave], and the other in the weft[horizontal]. This gives the double color effect. The shine is due to the quality and type of yarn. Many silk taffetas are woven with two colors and have this irredesent look. I would guess your fathers shirt was a fine cotton

We ran into that problem last summer in Ohio. GPS kept routing us back the same way to the closed access to the interstate. I finally solved it by getting on the interstate heading west. At the next exit I was able to turn around and head east.

Happy Valentine’s Day Louis & Jac! You poor dears, lost … that’s a weird detour for sure … next time you get lost in our neighborhood give us a call; Walter says he’ll share his chocolate cake and get you back on the right roads LOL.

Happy Valentine’s Day to both you and Jac! My order for the tanks and long cardigans (all colors) were just delivered to my desk as I opened your blog. I’m so excited. Today is in the 70’s and I’m wearing my baseball jacket. Have had so many at work respond to the flowers. Flowers always make people cheery. Thank you and Jac for all the hard work you put in for us to have the joy of wearing such lovely clothes.

I am headed down to West Chester this weekend from north Jersey. Not looking forward to the new Plan B trip to avoid The Bridge. I will let you know if I find a good alternate travel route.
