THE TRUFFLE WRAP OVER TUNIC & PANT”

mardi10

………………………….A new color………………TRUFFLE…………..and TWO new styles…………The WRAP OVER TUNIC, A287611 and CROPPED TROUSER, A287614. They are made in my CREPE GAUZE, a fabric I absolutely love, and I know many of you do too. It’s soft….it’s light weight, and has wonderful drape and flow. The tunic top has a V-neckline that I think you will all like. It’s not too high or low…..it has a youthful look. The sleeves are 3/4 length. This is a semi-fitted top. There are BODY SEAMS, front and back, from the shoulder to the horizontal seam. You shouldn’t be very concerned where the horizontal seam hits on your body. It is actually above the waist, but a little higher or lower isn’t going to make any difference, so if you are short or long waisted it won’t matter…..The bottom “skirt” is what gives the top its’ newness. I call it a wrap over? It’s actually a “wrap over” with a slight asymmetrical bottom. Look at the two photos at the lower right and you will see exactly what I mean, The top layer hangs slightly lower at the wrap “point”…..giving the top a newness and edge….It breaks the “horizontal’ line at the hip which is a good thing…The length is approx. 28 1/2 inches for the xs…..If you own anything in this GAUZE CREPE….the sleeveless dress, the trouser or the sleeveless tunic with the chiffon border….you know how comfortable, and light this fabric is. It has a slight crepe texture, and looks very expensive…….Definitely a high end look……The Cropped pant has its’ own sneak peek…….The WOOD BEAD, Acrylic, and Metal bead necklace in the ALABASTER is coming in April……..The total look is CHIC and SOPHISTICATED……upscale and totally DESIGNER………………………………………………………………………………………….

………………………..enjoy……………….much Love…………………….Louis

    Hi Louis
I like the Truffle colored top. Would this top complement A265615 Linea slim ankle pants in Light Khaki and the new color Alabaster coming this summer. I am looking forward to your show Monday.
    Thanks Louis

I wouldn’t….I would prefer it with an ivory soft pant or a dark pant like navy or black.

Hello again, Louis! Back again with my same question. The Truffle just posted by QVC looks decidedly warm in tone, which I cannot wear. Would you describe your Truffle as warm or cool? Thanks again! Barbara

PS: Wine that has been blessed as for communion MUST be drunk with none thrown out! That is a sacrilege! But unless Fr. Paul and his wife want to join us for a party I’m afraid we are out of luck. Retired Fr.John and his wife might be a better bet as they are good friends of ours. LOL!

    Hi Louis
This top is just adorable. Besides being a perfect traveling top, it can be accessorized in different ways. I love the modest v neck. How will it be sized numerically or small, medium, large etc.

    1. Grace

Great question. I was wondering the same thing about sizing…

The top is coming in x,m,L

    2. louis dell'olio

      The top will be x,m.l

Can’t wait and I love that necklace.

Thank you, Louis. I strongly suspect this will be my favorite crepe style. I LOVE the slight v-neck. Very flattering, elongating for the neck, and perfect for showing off my beautiful Linea necklaces. I love the color choices. I’ll probably first choose the peach. I’m asymetric, having severe scoliosis with an S curve, and I learned at a young age that asymetric styles look best on me. Thank you for all you do for your ladies.

Hi, Louis! This is soooooo right up my alley. Both pieces! The Truffle reads as a cool neutral on my screen. Is this correct? I’m hoping so as I would love some variety to my typical summer white, black, and navy. Thanks so much! Barbara

Dear Barbara, nice to hear from you! I would say the color is pretty accurate…..more so on the upper right where it appears a little darker than far left. I can definitely see you in this.

Thanks, Louis. I think you know my style well 🙂 Have been reading but not posting here. LOVE my new Mardi Gras necklace. Already had the earrings so I was all set to go. Now I need a party to go to!

        1. louis dell'olio

I think you and Ray should open a bottle of wine and have your own party!

LOL! Lent, Louis, Lent! But we will celebrate his birthday which comes right after the end of Lent this year. 🙂

Bob oh boy, I am all in for this top and I am certain I will be ordering more than one. For me in Wisconsin, this is a year round top and it is my style – covers the stomach and butt, drapes nicely, sleeves, and a neckline that invites jewelry. I bought three crepe tops last year and wore them all the time, even at home, because they looked so good. They packed well too. I wore them with Bob Mackie wide leg pants and cute sandals all summer. Regarding the matching pants to this top, I will pass. My ankles and legs are not my best feature and crops do not look good on me. I need a long pant for a long and lean look!
    Louis, I love your designs!

    1. louis dell'olio

Jackie…..these pants can be worn most of the year and look great with boots. It has the look of a boot skirt……..something to consider.

  8. Chris/Jazzmom

Does the truffle color work with the Leisure pants in taupe color?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sorry for the delay …..couldn’t find the pant. The colors are very different and can not be worn together. The leisure pant is very grey next to the truffle.

      1. Chris/Jazzmom

Thanks Louis! The truffle will look great on me!

  9. WNYGal/April

Oh, boy, do I like THIS. Super chic, but totally unfussy & comfortable. And every color is a winner & will work with those truffle crops (gotta save a LITTLE money for all those new necklaces, lol).

    1. louis dell'olio

April you described it perfectly….”super chic…unfussy and comfortable”. It really exemplifies a woman of taste.

I’m bonkers over this v-neck. I realize some women do not warm up to the “v” at all, while others want it deeper. This has got to be your best compromise “v” yet! Also very much like the asymmetrical drape of the top. All very flattering touches, Louis. Much appreciated. Even going for the pant this time. You did mention they come in petite, right?

    1. louis dell'olio

Yes Goldie, they do come in petite. Honestly I think both lengths would work for a petite. When they are posted check out the lengths and compare to pants you own.

  11. Kate

I’m not comfortable in 3/4 sleeves. How would this look with the sleeves shortened to above the elbow?

    1. louis dell'olio

I still think it would look great…or short would work too…or really short almost a cap sleeve. Why don’t you like 3/4 length sleeves??….just curious

      1. Kate

I would love this as a cap sleeve and that’s what I’m going to do.

I have longer arms, I think? I’m always either rolling up the 3/4 to above the elbow or tugging at it to (try) and make it longer. While it probably hits others mid-way between the elbow and wrist, for me, it fall just about 2-inches below the elbow. I need longer sleeves in general (I can’t wear your turtleneck or v neck classic WK because the sleeves don’t even clear my wristbone!)

        1. louis dell'olio

You do have long arms. Have someone measure your arm from the cap to 1 inch below your wrist.I would suggest having someone pin the sleeve up for you to see before you make a decision.
