Trench Coat

There is a very good chance that the buyers will be getting the long version of last years trench coat….It’s exactly the same except no contrast color and long. If you’re interested, what colors would you like?

red! i need to retire my 20-yr old one – which i still get compliments on! it has a detachable hood.

  3. Jane J.

Louis, I’ve been reading all the comments re: a red long trench coat on the QVC Linea forum. Some say they love the idea and would buy, others definitely not. Some say they want a hood, others not. I don’t think you will ever be able to get a consensus on a second color to black. I think red would be a tough sell, and I know that I personally would never buy a long red trench. I trust you as the master designer to decide.

  4. Connie

YES,Yes,and did I say Yes to a RED Long Trench! As long as its a true red, and not an orange red. I am 5’4” and have one that’s 46″ long, it hits me lower calf and I love the length. Of course, it’s not red and it’s old.
My daughter wants one too, just like Carmen Sandiego! lol

  5. Jennifer

What about a true lipstick red trench?

    1. Suellen/2E

You and me both — I’ve always wanted a long RED trench! The question is, would enough others join us to justify production?

      1. louis dell'olio

I think you should pose this question on the Linea board and see the response. So far most have asked for Blackberry, but red would be beautiful.

        1. Seka

I think I just might love a Red Trench! I ‘requested’ Black – or the traditional Tobacco/Beige – but I think I’m ready for a change – I would buy the Red!

        2. Suellen/2E

The red trench question has just been posted on the Linea forum. We’ll see what everyone thinks.

        3. Bernadette

          Hi Louis,

I would love a red trench coat. Perfect for Texas!!! Could you make one in petite?

I pray for you each and every day Louis. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

          God bless,
          Bernadette

    2. Casey (aka KcFoxy)

If it is a true red, such as the Scarlett Red WK pieces or hammered button jacket, I’d be in. Anything more orangy, like Poppy Red WK jersey tank would not work, but more blue red, like D&C Claret is also very nice…besides the Blackberry, ahem 🙂

    3. Kate

I have a clear, bright, cool-red trench in satin, but would love one from Linea in that great weight fabric you do. I will comment on the site.

  6. TrishM

I would only buy if there was a removable hood…and i would only buy navy or forest green.

  7. Qulia

No hood. Just a classic long trench. Would love British tan, black or a deep graphite grey, navy, blackberry or magenta, a rich malachite green, a cheerful sunny yellow.

    1. Qulia

Okay, malachite, magenta and yellow would be too bold. But I’d love olive or a deep blue spruce.

  8. Susan (aka Carlytwila)

Black, blackened forest green and taupe.

  9. Cathy Morton

How about a pretty “taupe” coffee?

  10. sharon

If the trench is washable, color of vicuna or classic beige. I currently own three of your trench coats. Love them-so versatile and very well made. The details are beyond! Would also buy a long black or navy or Vicuna trench.

  11. Barbara in Virginia

I thought of another color! Maaaaany years back, I bought a dark green wool gaberdine trench in Spain. It was very neutral. That trench went with everything, and I wore it until it wore out. So I would add a dark Forest Green.

  12. Cynthia

Always Navy it would be my choice.

  13. unpeudemoi, aka Patricia

Petite, plz. Yeah, no hood, and no contrast in face unflattering black. Fawn, Alabaster, Ivory, Warm Dove Grey, Deep Aubergine, Deep Forest Green, Deep Blackened Red

  14. Patti Wilson

I’d love some of your brighter colors like your grass green, a true red, an orange. I’d love to have an ivory and navy too. I prefer no contrast with the lining so it’s even more versatile.

  15. Nancy from CT

Louis, I would like to see navy, dark grey, and/or dark camel.

  16. Lacylass

Yipppee! Black and Dark Charcoal Grey please … thank you so much!

  17. Hudson Valley Nancy

Hi Louis, I vote Black for sure and for color, Dusty Blue, or Sage Green, can’t wait either way…..:)

  18. Anonymous

Dark Umber, Dark Taupe, Charcoal Gray or Chocolate Brown. I know the buyers don’t want a hood, but maybe a detachable one?

Thanks for all your lovely Jac photos and memoirs. Hugs to you, Louis.

  19. vicki.

    Mushroom or. Taupe

    Tobacco .Navy or blackberry.

Thank you for asking. I would love 2 coats one lighter shade and one in a darker color

    Vicki

  20. Jen

Any shade of grey. A hood would be great if possible.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Jen…..the buyers do not want a hood.

  21. Stephanie

Medium taupe or mushroom, navy or black would be nice. Almost any color would do, since I am desperate for a long trench coat. A detachable hood might work.

  22. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Another vote for dark Linea Navy. Thank you for the bits of personal history and photos of Jac. It’s like a balm for the soul. I think a lot of us have been hurting for and with you out here and it is wonderful to see favorite photos of yours and read about oh-so-happy moments in your lives together. Hoping it gives you comfort and joy in doing so.

  23. Judy M

please navy and in petite so the sleeves wont be too long!

    1. louis dell'olio

Judy….I think you know by now whether things come in petite are totally up to the buyers. I will however mention it if they do decide to buy it.

  24. Suellen/2E

Thanks for asking, Louis, you’re always so thoughtful! I’d love a long Black trench. At 5″10,” nice long coats are hard to find.

  25. Sharon L

    Navy and dark gray

  26. T1

    Hi Louis!

I really need a dark brown classic coat! Next choices: charcoal grey, navy.

As always, thank you for asking us!

(Ivory or alabaster would be beyond gorgeous, but I can’t imagine I’d ever wear it for fear of ruining it in my messy weather. Geographically, my life spans mainly between WI and Chicago)!

  27. Michelle

    Louis

This is great news! Because really, can a girl ever have too many trench coats?! Lol.

My color suggestions: black, blackberry, fawn, alabaster or camel.

    Michelle

  28. Claudia

    Blackberry
    Navy
Too bad the buyers aren’t interested in one with a hood.

  29. CeeGee

I second the vote for silvery green — one of your sage or olives would be great, along with a sand and blackberry. I would buy many.

  30. Nancy law

    Navy, blackberry and British Tan

  31. Rochelle

Navy and blackberry.i have always wanted the trench and never gotten it. And yes, I agree with Evelyn, petite options would be nice.

  32. Janey

Wine, BlackBerry and cream. Thank you Louis.

  33. Evelyn

How about a soft grey & a vanilla? Any chance of getting the trench in petite sizing?

    1. louis dell'olio

I don’t know if they would buy it in two lengths?

  34. Deborah (a.k.a. Diamondscribe)

I would like to see black, ivory and – since we’re not on the Q site and hopefully it’s permissible to use a brand name – I’d like something on the order of Burberry Beige. I’ve always wanted a long elegant beige trench but they never seem to go into plus sizes. I suggest the ivory because I love the ivory trench coats that Olivia Pope wears in Scandal. So elegant. And, although I would buy either of those two lighter colors for here in the South, I add black because I know the rest of the Linda Ladies will prefer that.

    1. Joanne

Burberry Beige and Black. I will say, I am not tall at 5’3″, the trench’s you did previously were full length on me.

  35. Barbara in Virginia

I would LOVE a long navy trench! Blackberry would be great as well.

    1. Kate

These would be my choices, too.

  36. Grace

What great news!! I vote for black and dark taupe…no hood.

  37. Chris S.

Black for me, but I was hoping for a hood.
Since it is the same style, but longer, does it flare a little for walking?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes, it does flare a little

  38. Beth

Navy, blackberry, tobacco and wine would be my choices.

  39. Goldie76

    Blackberry

    Charcoal

  40. Seka

Black and your Fawn color is the perfect beige/khaki color.

    1. Seka

      I did not post this.

      1. Seka

There must be a glitch. Your name and email come up on my tablet on the leave a reply area. So sorry. I will restart tablet and see if it disappears.

        1. Seka

Thank you for letting me know. Have been checking back here to see if anyone responded to my post.

Please advise if you are able to remove my information from your tablet.

          1. Seka

No change, sorry. Only on tablet not laptop.

            1. Seka

What is the name you usually post under on this Blog.

            2. Seka

Apparently this is also happening to other Posters – see discussion for Tuxedo Colours.

  41. Jackie

    Mahogony or tobacco
    Charcoal grey with blueish hue
    Silvery green
No black for me since I have plenty in my closet. I will be looking for something different.

    Ps
Please ask if matching whisper knit scarves could be offered to match.

  42. Casey (aka KcFoxy)

Black is a given, but would adore blackberry as well! Charcoal grey and navy other choices for great neutrals.

  43. Ruth

As Coco Chanel said, “When I find a colour darker than black, I’ll wear it. But until then, I’m wearing black!”

Until then, it’s black for me too.

  44. Lrmuffin/linda

    Black,olive or charcoal gray.

  45. By the C

    Black and blackberry. Thanks!

  46. Judi

    Oh, Louis!
    Happy Day!
I’ve had my hopes up ever since you mentioned it when I asked a question about it last week.
I would LOVE black, traditional and elegant. Ordinarily I would suggest dark camel but you did that in the shorter version.
    Now is time for black!
    Take good care of yourself
    Judi

  47. Jane J.

Black or pale beige/pale khaki. Don’t think I’d like “colors” in the longer version. Can I dream — will there be a hood?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sorry Jane they didn’t want a hood

  48. Seka

BLACK or the tradional Tobacco/Beige colour!

  49. Maia

I like Karen from WA’s suggestion of blue. Lapis blue would be gorgeous!

    1. Karen in WA

      Oh ya!

  50. Cathy in PA

    Navy, please 🙂

  51. Karen in WA

I would be interested, however I need color. So I’d say a dark teal or blue or wine or blackberry. Maybe brown or tobacco.

  52. Maia

    Yay! Black!
