…………………….First…let me be clear…SUPER PONTE is not a registered name and will not appear on any label….It is a name I have given to this particular new ponte fabric. If you go to the QVC Linea site and look for “Super Ponte”….it won’t be there….
……….Why SUPER PONTE?……….Five or so years ago I did a group of ponte clothes, and one of the pieces was dubbed the “NINOTCHKA JACKET”. The fabric was a very special ponte consisting of 67% RAYON/29%NYLON/4%spandex…….no polyester!! This was a heavier ponte than I had used previously, and a much more expensive fabric than I had used. Many many women fell in love with this very special fabric, but the fabric mill refused to make it again claiming that there were too many damages in the knitting of the fabric….they had to throw a lot of fabric away, and they lost money………This season I have found another ponte from a different mill that specializes in all types of ponte knits. The fabric content is 75%RAYON/21%NYLON/4%SPANDEX!!!!! SUPER INDEED……Not only does it have a higher percentage of rayon, but it is even heavier than the original. That said, the weight may not be suitable for very warm climates where you may have a very short wearing season, so you should take that into consideration. This is a very stretchy fabric even though it’s a substantial fabric…… it has TWO WAY STRETCH!. The hand of the fabric…or touch of the fabric…is SUPER smooth…. I would have to say this is one of the more “EDGIER” fabrics I have used. It is very very MODERN and very “DESIGNER”……………I realize some of you are not going to like or understand this fabric. Some will think it’s too heavy, but if you try it on….you may change your mind…For those of you who understand this type of fabric….you will be more than happy that I was able to bring it to you….I hope you love the fabric as much as I do…..It is new….it is different….it is definitely OUT OF THE BOX!
The ELONGATED JACKET, A257333, can be an outerwear coat for many. It is approx.34 inches long for the XS…..It is totally UNLINED for total comfort, and to benefit the two way stretch. We didn’t want to add any unnecessary weight, and a lining really is totally unnecessary. I have seen many European designers, using similar fabrics and constructing the garments the exact same way. There are SNAP OUT SHOULDER PADS to give the jacket/coat a more defined shoulder line. Of course if you have broad straight shoulders then you can take them out. There are body seams from shoulder to hem, front and back, to give a stream line fit. The two front flaps have working pockets under them. There are three dyed to match buttons on the front only. The sleeve is left unadorned to make it easier to shorten if that is necessary. For my petite ladies this will probably be the perfect coat/jacket length for you, but if it needs shortening, again it is an easy alteration…………………The colors are…………TAUPE…………..BLACK…..You may remember seeing Jac wearing the black over the taupe CHEETAH KNIT top and skirt with the BLACK ANIMAL INSTINCTS tights during the last show……..The TAUPE is a very MENSWEAR color and is often seen in riding britches………………………..The LEGGING/PANT, A257338, is very special due to the fabric. There isn’t any waist band and the exposed elastic band is sewn on the inside of the PULL-ON PANT……There are no zippers and since there is no seam for a waist band …..it is VERY SMOOTH. It has a CONTOUR WAIST LINE, and is lower in the front than the back……..I call this garment a LEGGING/PANT because it has the fit of a legging, but due to the weight….it feels more like a pant. Most leggings are in much lighter fabrics and some are less flattering than this…..With these pants…..you won’t need Spanx! Also….if you wish to tuck something in or wear a body suit with these pants….you will have a much cleaner line than with an ordinary legging. The inseam is approx 28 inches…………These are machine washable in cold water, so they are great for travel. They can be SUPER CASUAL or SUPER DRESSY. Above, I have the colors mixed or matched, and with the addition of the Cheetah skirt and the Black sleeveless mock WK you can begin to see the possibilities of how these pieces can work into you existing wardrobes…..Again, these are very special ….For those of you who fall in love with them you will want them in every conceivable color!……………………………enjoy…………………much Love………………………..Louis

Not in leather, but there is a beautiful suede jacket for Sept.
I will look for the jacket in September. I already ordered the super pone jacket in both colors.I am waiting for qvc to list the matching pants. I LOVE your clothing.

Yep…that’s the way I see them. Jac wears an xs and they fit perfectly…..lots of stretch, but also a bit of Spanx thrown in….don’t buy big!

Hi, Louis! I am one of the lucky ones who bought LOTS in the Roma Ponte fabric, including the Ninotchka suit, which is a perennial love. I have taken very careful care of all those pieces which are still very much in my wardrobe. I’m SO happy to see this new fabric with a very similar fiber composition!
Can this fabric be dry cleaned? As I remember, there was some concern about the Roma Ponte that I don’t think was ever resolved.
I don’t know if it can be dry cleaned…the label says to machine wash in cold water.
Barbara…I do want you to understand that even thought they have very similar fiber contents…they are different. The new fabric is definitely heavier

I was going to get only the Black Jacket and Legging – but that Plan just went out the door! Now it’s both the Black & Taupe Jackets – and two of each of the Leggings!

I’m in! Just to help complete the picture in my mind, does the back of jacket have slits where the seams reach the hem or a slit in the middle or is it all sewn?
