“COLOR SUGGESTIONS”

I received word that the WK V-NECK, A217629, may be reordered  for August. So far it has come only in dark  fall/winter colors. I was thinking of some pretty paler colors like pale blue, pale  yellow. mint. lilac etc…..SUGGESTIONS?……………Also,  the new Linea Leisure Tunic, A262037 reordered for Sept….so the colors should be more fall like, but they have to be stand alone colors….no matching bottoms…..SUGGESTIONS? I need  this by Monday so  give it some thought….

Louis would you ever consider doing some muted or dusty colors for the spring? Like a dusty pink, green, aqua, purple, coral, seafoam (like you did in A255669 & A255670). I love watery, soft colors like these in the warm weather.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Judie, I definitely would. I love dusty shades. I think they are very sophisticated. However, many women don’t like dusty colors….as a matter of fact you are one of the few to ask for them.

  2. Pecan Cookie

    For either top: blackish eggplant
    V-Neck: dark umber, raspberry sherbert
Tunic: cool-toned dark green, winter coral (to accent bottoms in browns, charcoals, navy…)

  3. Lacylass

Oh! And for the Leisure Tunic:

    Dark Charcoal Grey

    Deep Port Wine

  4. Lacylass

For the v-neck, would prefer no pastels…I hardly ever wear them as they tend to wash me out… Would love it in:

    Optic White
    Fuscia
    Lipstick Red
    Bright Turquoise
    Dark Charcoal Grey
    Bright Berry

Thanks for asking for our input Louis!

  5. Michelle

Adding malibu blue and topaz to an already excellent list of suggestions for new WK v-neck sweaters. I think that both colors would transition well from summer into fall. Thanks, Louis.

  6. Rhonda Owens

I have three of the V neck sweaters 2 in black and one in navy. I would love to have a heather grey. The tunic would be fantastic in an oatmeal or cream. I really think neutrals are the way to go with these basics. I am a busy mom of teenagers and neutrals are just easiest with my denim and black bottoms:)

  7. Joanne

I love the WK V neck sweaters. I would like one in ivory/cream and oatmeal.

  8. Carol in FL

For the v-neck WK sweater, charcoal grey or Kate shirt blue. Thanks for asking.

    Carol

  9. Cela

v neck: Taupe, Periwinkle (like the color of “Kate” shirt)

LLT: Persimmon, cassis, spruce green, charcoal, Topaz, violet, are these “stand alone colors? If they’re not, I love them anyway LOL.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes Cela…they are stand alone colors……Stand alone means they don’t need matching bottoms or coordinating pieces to make sense….They are accent pieces that can be worn with many other colors…in this case bottoms.

  10. andrea

Vneck: Would you consider the Fiesta colors from two years ago? You could soften the aqua and hot pink. The lime green probably wouldn’t work.

Also an optic white.Would look really fresh with navy for spring.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Andrea…it’s a little soon to bring back those colors in another classic style, but I will be doing similar colors in a new sweater jacket for Feb. I have to say….everyone kept asking for optic white, because i always do an ivory white…I did it and it really only sold fair…to my surprise.

  11. andrea

I look dead in pastels. For the V would you consider the Fiesta colors that you did two years ago? Also an optic white; would look great with navy for the spring.

  12. Deborah (a.k.a. Diamondscribe)

I would love to see pastel WK, not only in the V-neck. Besides your suggestions, I would like to buy a pale pistachio and a pale sea-glass blue. I loved the Wisteria and the Geranium Pink last summer and think both taken to a pale pastel version of the color would be splendid. Thank you for inviting us to share our dream palette of pastels.

  13. Jill

Can I suggest Dark Teal? Or any cooler skin tone friendly colors deep blues instead of pastels for the summer shirts? Don’t forget about all of us cool skin tone ladies

  14. Grace

I’m late to the party…but I agree with most of the colors already suggested.

For my all-time favorite v-neck: pale blue or aqua (swoon), pale pink, butter yellow, minty green, pale lilac, latte, white.

For the tunic: slate blue (greyish/blue) or cadet blue, charcoal grey, taupe.

  15. Jackie

Green, something that pops with black pants
Mustard, curry, sweet corn, some yellow tone
    Raspberry for sure
    Aqua
    Terra cotta, chestnut tones

Louis, eons ago you did a beautiful silk blend turtleneck in a shade called “oatmeal.” I still wear it but it is so precious to me, I only wear it if I’m not going out to dinner because I fear slopping some horrible stain on it! I would love to see you re-introduce that oatmeal shade in the WK V-neck tunic. And I think it would also be great in the LL knit tunic.– Blinddogs

    1. Judi

Oh, yes! Oatmeal definitely! I, too, am treasuring my one and silk blend oatmeal.
I’d love to see a charcoal V-neck (as well as platinum/dove gray). I’ve never worn pastels (except for your perfectly pink!). I love your neutral palette.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

I know exactly which sweater you mean…..it is long gone with the wind….I gave it to “Big Brothers and Sisters”. I don’t even have a swatch! which is totally dumb!!

  17. Debra

WK V-neck: Solid dark charcoal grey (looks great popped with any pastel or any color, really), butter yellow, and a deep, true, saturated emerald green

LL tunic: Solid dark charcoal grey, walnut, hunter green, and that beautiful raspberry!

    Thank you, Louis!

  18. Susan (aka carlytwila)

Vneck = pale blue or yellow
    fall color = mahogany

  19. Anonymous

Personally, I have plenty of charcoal sweaters at this point, including all the Linea versions. I would love to see the WK V-neck in something just a little bit different, but still appealing to the many who love it. Pewter, pale silver grey, a pale blue-grey, sky blue, VIOLET, stone, clay, chestnut, or curry. These would be my picks.

    1. WNYGirl/April

And I don’t know why the website has listed me as anonymous. There are some mysteries I just won’t question.

  20. breee

V-neck in pale blue, true pink, or lavender
Tunic in wine or true red

  21. Julia

I commented under Kate, Sheesh, and Enjay, (solid charcoal, pale mint, pale blue pink) and want to add ivory, white, or pale lavender would also be great. I also like that golden yellow you used for the ENR boyfriend cardigan. I love the WK V-neck sweater and would love to have it in some spring colors.

  22. Rebecca

The WK v-neck is my all-time favorite sweater – it is perfection! Would LOVE it in any pink shade – perfectly pink, raspberry, all of it. Purples are good (light or dark) and I would LOVE it in malachite, or grass, or other brighter greens. I can’t wait for more colors in this perfect sweater!

  23. Nancy

    Dear Louis,

Aqua, butter yellow, and any other color you’d like to give us. I have no trouble finding a reason to buy and wear almost anything you offer!
    Thank you~!

  24. sue (aka Sammijo)

Oh I would LOVE WK in pale ice blue! Especially in the vee neck and turtleneck. Thank you so much for asking! Butter would also be yummy and work well into fall.

  25. designista

WK V-neck: I have this sweater in 6 darks, and 2 brights: ruby and dark mallard blue. I would purchase this sweater in:
Lights: Ivory or White, prefer not to wear pastels
    Darks: Charcoal
    Brights: Fuchsia, Magenta

  26. Carol

    Squeal!!! Re-orders!!!

For the wk v-neck: perfectly pink, butter yellow, stone

For the LL tunic: walnut and charcoal, to go with the LB leggings.

  27. Sandy

Again, for the silver-haired ladies, would love to see more true cool colors; I.e., blue toned pinks, greens, grays, and a beautiful silvery
sage. Also, a taupe w/o yellow undertones would be wonderful.

  28. Carol B

v-neck – pale yellow, clay, lilac
tunic – in the brown family–khaki, tan, copper
    Thanks for asking

  29. Sharon L

For the LL tunic: jewel tones: teal, wine, aubergine. A bright would be a nice contrast to the dark bottoms: Orange, lime or fushis

  30. Suzzeee

I love the idea of a light/pale blue…also a pink that’s a true/clear pink would be pretty. Sage green and a silver grey would also be gorgeous.

  31. Karen

Aqua! I love aqua with your dark green.

  32. Chris S.

Linea Leisure tunic in the lighter shade of gray like the new style turtleneck and jewel tone colors, please. I loved last year’s ruby color, but NOT chili pepper or brick red. I love red, but just don’t care for those 2 shades. Lapis would be great!

Pale aqua sounds lovely in the v-neck.

  33. Teri

Magenta. I am always looking for magenta. Love it with bright olive too.

  34. Jane J.

Dark charcoal (not heathered) and fuchsia for me, Louis.

  35. Mary

I would love a tan, khaki or camel. I love the idea of pastels too. Those colors look good with my fair skin.

Thank you, Louis. I love the whisper knit.

  36. Judie

Would love to see the WK sweater in butter. As for the LL tunic fall colors, I think charcoal, wine and olive would be fantastic. I can’t seem to get enough of those 3 colors the past few years for fall/winter.

  37. Connie

Well, not a pastel but I’d like to see the WK V-neck in TCU purple!

      1. Kate

Texas Christian University. It’s very, very grape purple.

  38. enjay

We desperately need this classic sweater in classic charcoal! And a burnt umber.

    1. Kate

You beat me to it! Classic charcoal grey and an Oatmeal like an Irish sweater would be my first choices.

I personally don’t look good in pale pastels but that doesn’t mean others should have them, of course. I always tend to pick up jewel tones in general or fleshy pinks that look like shades of baby lips lipstick.

Whatever you choose, LDO, please do give us some purples!

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Do you mean the color of the solid TN or heather charcoal?

      1. Kate

I would prefer solid as in the TN rather than heather, but that’s just me. I would buy either, of course.

        1. Sheesh

I agree, the Solid Charcoal in the V-neck—a must over Camel Pants—like the pants you did two years ago with a Asymmetrical Zipper Jacket. How unstated and elegant.

        2. Enjay

I’d prefer solid too, Louis. And Kate’s suggestion of oatmeal is terrific.

          1. Julia

I prefer the solid charcoal. LOVE that shade of gray! I had to order a second TN because I knew I’d be wearing it all the time.

I like the idea of a pale mint or soft aqua or pale blue toned pink.

            Thank you for asking!

  39. Yvette

I just posted my request for aqua in the v-neck under Shari’s & Sheesh’s posts, but need to add chili pepper and teal for the LL tunics. I’m wearing the sage right now – oh so comfortable!

  40. Diane

I know you said paler colors for the V-neck WK but I would love to see mulberry, fuchsia or raspberry. No pastels for me!

  41. Connie

    Hi Louis,
I have been a “behind the scenes” linea lady for about 9 years, and I love your designs, and your attention to detail, and the materials that you choose for each garment. Thank you for having this blog and the sneak peeks and for taking the time to answer our questions. I don’t know of any other designer that would take the time. Also, Please thank Jac for all of her input also. I also want to thank the “Linea Ladies” on the threads for being so kind and helpful and their vast knowledge of all things Linea. I read, but haven”t posted yet.

I would like to see the LL A262037 (of which I have 2, pale pink, and light blue) in a deep dark purple (my favorite color lol) and a true red, not an orange red.

    Thank You Louis

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Connie…welcome…..please be an active part of this group! The more the merrier!!

  42. Judi

For the WK V-neck I’d love to be able to purchase butter yellow, perfectly pink and platinum gray.
    Thanks for asking!
    Judi

  43. Maia

For the LL tunic, I’d like brick red, dark charcoal and your mallard blue. Thanks for asking, Louis!

  44. Shari

I love your idea for the WK V-NECK A217629 in the pastel colors you mentioned in the pale yellow, lilac, but I also would like to see a pale aqua and a pale lime and a pink like your wing collar shirt.
The leisure tunic would be great in a toffee, a pale grey, and olive.

    1. Sheesh

      Ditto on the Pale Aqua—yummy!

    2. Yvette

And I was just reading all of the responses before posting my request for the v-neck in AQUA, too!

  45. Chris/Jazzmom

I’m in agreement with Sheesh on reds or greens and how about a turquoise?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The last group of turquoise sweater, to my surprise, are still around in quite a few styles.

  46. Chris/Jazzmom

Let me add clay– or stone? How about a sienna? and for lighter colors– I like the pale blue or even a light marsala color or how about Perfectly Pink (I do not think it was ever made in Perfectly Pink).

    Chris

  47. Sheesh

Thanks, Louis, for soliciting our input. for the WK V-neck, I’d love “icy” pastels in pale blue, pale pink (not Perfectly Pink, i.e., less brown); pale mint green; pale lavender; pale yellow—all as you have suggested.

For the LL tunic top, I’d like to see a red of some sort—Brick Red or Chili Pepper Red. How about a Hunter Green?

    Thanks Louis.

  48. Sherry

I think the colors of the Wing Collar Shirt…the Blue and the Pale Pink would be nice to have in the WK V-Neck Sweater. Also the Yellow in the Kate Shirt…

  49. queendiva

    mulberry and platinum.
