“THE OATMEAL HOODED SWEATER”

hood

…………………………Ladies…..this is something really SPECIAL, and it’s all about the NEW YARN…….Yes, this is a new yarn that I am introducing this season…..It is a blend of 80% Viscose/20% Wool….This is NOT ITCHY!!!……….This is a SUPER FINE….SUPER LIGHT WEIGHT……..SUPER SOFT sweater, and the hand is definitely like silk/cashmere. It is so soft that if I said it were fine cashmere you would have no reason to think otherwise. Have I said this sweater is SUPER LIGHT WEIGHT, and SUPER SOFT….well it’s worth repeating. It’s so soft you will hug yourself. This is definitely the lightest sweater I have ever done for the Q, and it is not see through at all! It is a completely FULLY FASHIONED jersey knit sweater…….A268127…….. The long sleeves and bottom of the sweater are finished with wide tubular bands. The edge of the hood is also finished with a tubular trim approx. 1/2 inch. The hood is also attached to the body of the sweater with a tubular trim……so all of the details, and the way it is made and finished is the best it can be made…..The sweater is approx. 24 inches long for the xs…….The color is……………..OATMEAL…………..and what a gorgeous color it is. The yarn is MELANGE, so it has a heather effect. What else can I say about this color except it is a beautiful RICH SOFT NEUTRAL….suitable for all skin tones and hair color. I have it shown above with the SLIM PANT in the LIGHT KHAKI, and the new ALABASTER QUILTED JACKET….It is simply PERFECTION…..a look that WHISPERS……..CLASS……..For all of my FLORIDIANS, and all who live in warmer climates, I can’t think of a more glamorous, appropriate and casual outfit for your climate………..Since this is a column of paleness I thought I would suggest footwear that I could see wearing with this out fit, and they are all Mark Fisher……A264007, A265268, A258387 and A256929 are four very different styles that all would work with the OATMEAL, ALABASTER and LT. KHAKI…There are other shoes and booties on the Q that will work as well, such as the A269817, Sole Society ankle boot in Fennel…………………..I chose the TRIPLE BAR GOLD necklace and the GOLD DEMI HOOP earring to accessorize this outfit, but I have offered you many choices this season of bolder pieces or simpler pieces that both work for a more casual lifestyle……………..For those of you who need clothes for the work place or other more dressy occasions this sweater can work beautifully too. To achieve this tonal look pair the sweater with my Stone WK skirt and Stone Animal Instincts tights……….This is IMPORTANT!!!! This NEW SWEATER will be shown on the Oct 7th show which is at 6:00am……………………………………………….

…………………………………enjoy…………………..much Love………………………..Louis

Marlene Dietrich would have bought this outfit! In a heartbeat.

You’re right! In truth, her name popped into my mind as an after-thought. You have more of a mind for this sort of thing, and I agree with you.

Louis- Back in the 70s I had the honor to meet Marlene Dietrich. She had on a taupe suede jacket, matching
slacks and a taupe newsboy cap. All suede. After the interview she invited all the male reporters up to
her hotel room. Oh to be a fly on that wall! Happy weekend!

    Thanks Louis!!

Hi Louis! I love this top and have the pants and jacket. I have a creative challenge for you. I have worn the khaki pants all summer long with sandals as crop pants. (I am 5’10”.) I love the fabric and fit and would love to carry these into the next season to wear with all the beautiful alabaster pieces and just as a great neutral pant. Do you think some sort of boot would work? Tall tucked in, a snug higher ankle boot? For a cool northeastern day what would you suggest for Jac? Introduce black? Light taupe or beige? Or just give it up and tuck them away for spring?
    Thanks for your help!
    Susan

Dear Susan…there are lots of boots that can work and QVC has some nice ones….look at Sole Society, Muck Luks, Minnetonca [SP]…..even Uggs would look good in the right color.

Dear Susan…there are lots of boots that can work and QVC has some nice ones….look at Sole Society, Muck Luks, Minnetonca [SP]…..even Uggs would look good in the right color. A black or brown boot would look great with a dark sweater…or a light boot….look up the style numbers I suggested for an idea of a light color boot

Really nice sweater, Louis. Can you tell us how the sizing runs? In Whisper Knits — because of the stretch — I always size down one size and still have plenty of room. I’m wondering about the fit in this new fabrication. Looking forward to Wednesday [but already stalking for the zebra coat!].

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Jane I really don’t like giving sizing suggestions because everyone likes thins to fit differently….It’s an easy fit, and a thin sweater so you don’t want it tight, best to check the measurements. It’s a sweater knit so there is stretch, but you want this to glide over the body.

    HI Louis

Such a cool outfit! I own 3 pair of the slim ankle light khaki pants. I will have a very wonderful outfit when I purchase the oatmeal sweater. Also as to size does the sweater run like your whisper knits? I generally take a Medium, but sometimes a Small.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I would say yes to the sizing…..I don’t think the med will be bad, because this sweater should be on the easy side….but check the hip and shoulder measurements

  6. Grace

    Dear Louis,

I’m swooning over this sweater!! Brilliant. And, the colors are irresistible. My daughter will love this one, too. (She’s become a Linea Lady of late after seeing all the cool clothes her mama is wearing. LOL!) Thanks, Louis, for another winner piece!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Grace….you had better lock your draws….your daughter will surely take it!

      1. Grace

Oh, she’s already “borrowed” a few things!

  7. kate

Wow. That’s a killer. Who doesn’t love a tricked-out basic, all luxe and yummy! I’m in for oatmeal for sure. Great with yoga pants or the (still my favorite) drawstring skirt you did for us years ago. If it sells as expected (oatmeal will sell out, for sure), could we have in black (which I would love to pair with your sequin skirt) or navy (with your white drawstring skirt!) next? Every time I think, okay, done for the season, you offer yet another must have! Speaking of which, the swing turtleneck is truly remarkable; makes my waist look teeny-tiny.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

We love a teeny tiny waist!….wish I had one!!

  8. Lyn

I have the Alabaster quilted jacket, so I may get this Oatmeal Hooded Sweater to wear with it (as you have shown). I also have the Slim Pant in Light Khaki.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Lyn….there you go …outfit complete. You may already have the alabaster crew neck, but this oatmeal is a great alternative….a little more casual and definitely more edgy!

  9. designista

OUTSTANDING LOUIS! Did I miss the item number?

      1. Rochelle

Any idea when it will be available for purchase? It’s not up on the web yet. I’m debating taupe or light blue.

And thanks for your suggestion of the Ivory swing turtle for my green WK pants. Very cozy with our massive temp drops from Joaquin in the mid-Atlantic/DC area.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Don’t know when they will post it….they have been posting everything so early…all but this one?? It’s on the 6am show so keep a look out for it.

          1. Rochelle

I’ll have to check online after the show. Commuting then teaching around that time. Thanks.

  10. Carol

I’m going to have to take your word for it that this is not scratchy because I do not wear wool sweaters. This one is soooo darling, I’m going to take a chance. I’ve just returned from the Virgin Islands so sweater shopping seems so wrong right now, but I’m definitely in for the mink and the blue. Just adorable!

Louis, you know I have been waiting for this sweater. This piece is so me!! Being in Florida, I appreciate that it is lightweight. I love hoodies and this will suit my lifestyle so well. For casual, going to work, etc. I’m an engineer and can wear jeans to work, but don’t want to look sloppy. I love to be able to put on a nice top with jeans or slacks and a little jewelry, cute shoes and be done. I will be getting all 3 colors.

Do you think the oatmeal would work under the plum moto jacket?

How is the fit? I am always an XXS in your whisper knits, but sometimes have to size up in other pieces.

    Thanks!!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

XXs should be fine…..and yes the oatmeal goes with EVERYTHING…..this is American sportswear…..mix it up….I have seen a lot of strange combos, but this is not one of them.
