Happy Birthday Louis! I always suspected that you were a Leo and now I know for sure. (I’m a Leo too!) I hope you have something fun planned. You deserve a day as special as you are.

P.S.Your show with Jayne Brown was outstanding and the clothes amazing. You have such a good personality and I just love it when you are paired with Jayne. The energy between you two is perfect.

Just noticed two new colors for the super ponte pants, port and dark forest green!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes Judy….those are the two new colors for fall 2018, and you know I will have more to coordinate in those colors!

  9. Barbara C

Dear Louis, I recently purchased the regular gauze pants, A293755, as well as the matching topper and tank, all in black. I believe I would like to have the pants altered to make the fit a bit slimmer, but before I take them to the tailor, I wanted to ask you if you think this will impair the “look” of the pants. I think a slimmer fit just looks better on my body. Of course I won’t turn them into leggings! 🙂 Just a bit slimmer. Thank you for your thoughts. ~ Barbara C.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Barbara, I think the pant would be fine a little slimmer and would look great with the topper and tank.

The sneak peek of the tops worn with the Pebble Crepe Pull On Crop Pants (A288391) made my heart flutter, especially the olive green one Kataya had on. I am saving my fashion money for when it becomes available available. I wish I could buy one of everything but I am having to watch my pennies here lately. Great show.

  11. Goldie76

    Dear Louis,

I received my very first Linea embroidery today. My Crepe Gauze Embroidered Tunic in Merlot arrived today, and it is dreamily beautiful. I very much like the way the tunic is closer to the body and less boxy. The embroidery is exquisite! Bravo!

    1. Chris/Jazzmom

      Hi Louis,

My merlot embroidered top & crops arrived yesterday & both fit and look great. I have to say that even the gauze crepe dark olive pants (A302680) looks great underneath the merlot embroidery too.

  12. Lynn H

I love the A293753 Gauze Crepe Asymmetrical Tank – any new colors on the horizon?

  13. Dawn

    Hi Louis!

The Black embroidered tunic arrived this morning. I wasn’t sure about the colors- so hard to gauge from pics and tv. It is absolutely gorgeous. I immediately tried it on and it looks wonderful either all buttoned or with a few undone. I took it outside into the light and that’s when I could really see the beautiful colors. Just stoked with the wines, greens and blues.

Hope you have a nice “Happy Birthday” this coming week. Thanks for all you do!

Louis, was browsing the Nordstrom Sale & came across this Eileen Fisher Tuxedo Pant – 88% Tencel® lyocell, 10% nylon, 2% spandex with leather contrast – Dry clean. They look beautiful but would cost Cdn$300 with Duty & Taxes. If I recall correctly – the Linea Tuxedo Pant that will match your Tuxedo Jacket will be available in September. Am looking forward to my Linea Tuxedo!
    https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/eileen-fisher-slim-tuxedo-pants-with-leather-stripe-regular-petite/4939676

    Seka.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Seka….we call them Tuxedo pants because they are the same fabric as the tuxedo, but they do not have satin trims like the tuxedo, because they also go with the Sept blazer…all in the same fabric

      1. Seka

Louis, I don’t mind that these Pants don’t have the satin trim – I am purchasing them as soon as they are posted. The Tuxedo fabric – have you used it before – or is it a new fabric.
        Seka.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

It’s actually the trench coat fabric. Actually, it was Jac’s suggestion to do a blazer in this fabric.

          1. Seka

Love that fabric, Louis. The Tuxedo will be even more special knowing that Jac suggested the Trench Coat Fabric! Thank you, Louis.
            Seka.

  15. Melissa W

Happy belated birthday Louis!! Loved your shows. Can’t wait for my beautiful items to arrive. I know we all have our favorites but I can’t wait for those ombré tops.

I’m on my way to help get a dog I picked up from the shelter yesterday to his new home today. So just wanted to send you a quick birthday message. Hope you have a good day!

    Melissa

      1. Melissa W

Oh good!! Glad I didn’t miss it. Was wondering why I didn’t see a ton of birthday wishes from your Linea ladies. But I’ve been super busy, thought I just missed something.

Anyway, have a wonderful birthday! I know it’ll be difficult, but still hope it’s special. 💜

  16. Seka

Louis, I did purchase the new Jean style Pant in the Black – after you described the Fabric as not being a Denim but a Rayon/Cotton/Spandex. But then there was a discussion you had with Jane that the fabric might be a Twill (which to me is a ‘stiffer’ Fabric). Would you please clarify the fabric used for this Pant.
    Seka.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Seka….it is a cotton/rayon/span. Honestly the weave is so fine and the colors are SOOOOO dark that I can see if it’s a super fine twill or not. However, it is silky smooth due to the rayon and is not stiff at all. They have substance, hence the “beefy” comment, but they are not heavy. The models really loved them and they put on a lot of pants. I know you will love these…..I’d be really surprised if you didn’t.

      1. Seka

        Thank you, Louis!

  17. Seka

Louis, there’s a new Jean Style Pant Posted on Q! No photos on the Q site and no Sneak Peek.

    A341741 Regular and A341742 Petite – Colours Black, Navy & Walnut! Content: 52% cotton/43% rayon/5% spandex.

Will you be presenting this Pant today?
    Seka.

  18. Goldie76

Louis, the chest measurement for the new Linea Moss Crepe Asymmetrical top seems to be smaller than normally provided in a Large; the circumference is 42″ rather than the typical 43 1/2″ to 46″. Should we order up a size?

Please respond before show time. Thank you so much.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Goldie I really don’t know. if ther difference isn’t extreme between the lg and xlg then it wouldn’t hurt. There is a lot of stretch. If you are large on top then you may be more careful sizing up.

      1. Goldie76

Ah, sometimes the extra stretch does give a different measurement like this. It happens from time to time.

Maybe I’ll stick with my regular size, then. Thanks, Louis!

        1. Carol

I was leaning toward sizing up from S to M based on how fitted it has seemed on the models in the shows this week. Once I saw the measurements, I was convinced that I would be happier sizing up. Both the bust and sweep measurements seem skimpy, even for a stretch fabric. I’m hoping the shoulders won’t be too wide for me. It’s such a gorgeous top. Fingers crossed.

  19. Kathy/Wis

    Good evening Louis
I’m reporting back on those two salad recipes you shared. They were both winners with our family, my new daughter in law especially liked the red cabbage one and wanted the recipe.
I think after she sees my closet and jewelry you will have a new Linea lady. Looking forward to the Friday shows and the upcoming drop dead gorgeous jewelry. Wishing you the best.

  20. Carol

Louis, you have me tealing so hard this Fall! I cannot wait for the embroidered tunic and crops to arrive. Does one of the new ombre print tops coordinate with teal?

Great shows this week. You make the choosing so difficult–and delicious.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I honestly don’t remember, and I’m not anywhere near the samples to check. I don’t think so. The closest one would be the navy/ green, but I’m not sure if there is teal or enough of a similar color that would make them work.

      1. Anonymous

In that case, I’m going for the walnut. It’s my favorite colorway anyhow. 🙂

  21. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

    Louis!
I received the DARK TEAL version of the pebble crepe top (A288390). I love this deep shade! For today’s warm weather I have it on with the STREAM colored pebble crepe crop pant (A288391) and the nugget necklace & earrings in BLUE. WOW – does that necklace look sharp on this top! I already wrote a review on this top last year, so am adding my two cents here on the new color. Thank you Thank you for dark shades! 🙂

    Susan

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Susan so happy to hear you are loving your teal. You should let the ladies know on the Linea Forum. I’m sure there are many ladies who would love to hear reviews

  22. Debra

    Dear Louis,

Has the asymmetrical top in Merlot Moss Crepe A341728 been pulled?

    I cannot find it, unfortunately.

    thanks,
    Debra

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Debra….no, no, no it hasn’t been pulled. It will be the very first item on my July 20th 2:00pm Show! I know the new clothes have been scattered all over the place with hits on all of these “Closet” shows….I wish they were all on one new show, but that’s not my choice. There will also be a new item, the print ombré top on Jayne’s Closet on July 20th at noon.

  23. Seka

Louis, was watching your presentation of A302600 today and I heard you mention FAUX SUEDE PANTS coming soon! You mentioned a Port/Wine colour – could you tell us Pant style (straight leg, boot cut) – and also other colours. You also mentioned a new Skirt – any details that you can share please. I still have a Faux Suede Olive Green maxi Skirt of yours that still looks fabulous!
    Seka.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Seka, the new suede pant is a slim-ish leg. The “new WK skirt is actually a pencil short skirt. What’s new about it is the fact that it will be also avail in petites….which talls can buy to…..Remember COLOR TIGHTS ARE YOUR FRIENDS.

      1. Seka

        Thank you, Louis!

      2. Ruth

I’m so glad to hear a short WK pencil skirt is coming and in petite too! I’m 5’7″ and I still like a short skirt with tights.

      3. Joanne

        Hooray!
I am so happy that the faux suede will be on the slim-ish leg. I am not tall and those pants are perfect for me. Faux suede as well as beaded pants this fall – I will be in heaven.

      4. Debby

Can”t wait! pencil skirt ! so excited!! Yeah , just love them !!!

  24. Debby

Love your new clothing! Ordered the rolling bracelet ,gold, before it sold out, but went to backorder, will it come in, would go with everything I’ve bought from you and I have quite a collection!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I don’t believe anymore are coming in this year. I never know if something will be reordered no matter how well it sells…..budgets dictate.

  25. Alicia Hughes

    Dear Louis,
I would like to know if your whisper knit walnut sweater matches your new walnut floral skirt that was shown today ( July 16th).

    Thanks!
    Alicia

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Alicia, I don’t have those samples anymore to check, but I would guess if they aren’t an exact match they will blend nicely. There are so many colors in the skirt that they really don’t have to match exactly

  26. Pat Hill

    Hi Louis,

I want to order the embroidered tunic in petite. Is there a problem because I can’t find it on the website. The number you mention is for the new skirt. Also will there be long pants in Merlot and Teal?

    Thanks

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Pat, if I said the tunic was coming in a petite, my mistake. Remember the sleeve is 3/4 length so that should not be a problem. If it is still to long as well as the body of the tunic it’s an easy alteration as the bottoms are both straight and the slits of the tunic are high so you won’t loose them at all. No, there are not long pants coming in the teal,or merlot but you should check the inseam of the regular pant. It may be long enough, and still look great with boots for the fall and sandals, espadrilles, and wedges for right now.

  27. luvitorleaveit

I taped the show this morning and watched a little bit while I was getting ready for work and I agree with just the few minutes I watched I think Jennifer did a wonderful job representing your designs in fact she left me thinking about the printed crop pants which I was not going to purchase but now I want the blue or the grey…LOL! Jennifer is a natural I thought her shoes were cute maybe in a different color I don’t care for those thick wedge shoes that seem to be the trend. Now that Jennifer is on board I don’t know how you did all that you were doing.

  28. Somersault

Louis, Jennifer Reed did a lovely presentation, this morning! I am so happy for you that you have some help with the QVC schedule. They are featuring your designs more frequently, now! Jennifer is a lovely representative of the Linea brand. You chose wisely and I am happy that it frees you up somewhat. I am hoping you were pleased as well! oxoxoxo Cat

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Somersault. I too think Jennifer did a great job, and i couldn’t be happier know the brand is in such capable hands. She does her homework and really knows the garments before she goes out there. We talk about each show and discuss all the points….Shes very quick and very smart. She is exactly as you see her, a joy to be with.. This was the first show I didn’t have a hand in AT ALL. I left it up to the stylist to chose the outfits and the models and the accessories. Since they don’t have half of what I have they did well. I would have chosen some different shoes, but I can order what I want for the shows. The stylists usually use what is avail in the models room. All in all It went very well……without me!

  29. Debra

    Dear Louis,

Good Morning and I hope that you are well.

I wanted to ask some questions about the Merlot items to come. You wrote that there are 5 items in this transitional color.
The new matching top with the asymmetrical neckline is indeed very chic, however, I cannot expose that much skin for work and other places.

Is there another top that will work with the new Merlot skirt that has a more modest neckline. Also, will the Port whisper knit items work with this new Merlot shade? I saw one of your models wearing the Wine boots from Marc Fisher with her outfit which I happen to own.

many thanks in advance for your answers,
    Debra

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Debra…..The asymmetrical top and the emb. top are the only two solid Merlot tops. If you notice the new Carnival necklace covers the neckline completely so nothing is exposed. If you have the Mardi Gras necklace that would work too. there is another print top coming in August with an open jewel neckline that would work. Merlot is an accent in the print There are no other solid tops in Merlot for now. However I don’t think you only have to wear a matching top. That is so limiting. For instance a black top with the Merlot skirt and either the wine or black boots with the new Maltese cross which has both Merlot and black stones would look great

      1. Debra

        Dear Louis,

Thank you for your reply. I do have the original Marci grad and if that covers it entirely, that would be amazing!!

While I cannot wear a cross, perhaps there will be another choice. Will the merlot items work with the port WK?

        Thank you,
        Debra

  30. Carol B

A friend saw me in the Moss Crepe Maxi Dress. She was complimentary and asked if it was an Eileen Fisher garment. Both she and I have a favorite EF top. It would be great if you could make it in Moss Crepe. The tops are ballet neck, 3/4 sleeves, straight to the high hip (not tunic). For this apple shape, the tops work well to wear over skirts, such as the boho and pants. Thanks for listening and keep up the excellent designs.

    1. Debra

I would LOVE that silhouette!! I’m in. For me, that would be a total workhorse top.

      1. Goldie76

This “pear” would love it as well.

    2. Carol B

I am suggesting mainly solid colors as basics in the wardrobe.

Just saw the offerings for this month and into fall, and there are a wealth of beautiful clothing and jewelry selections. Can’t wait to see them on the shows. You never fail to bring classic variety to current trends. Thank you for making it fun to shop.

  33. Jackie

Will leggings or tights be offered in teal or merlot? Would love them with the tunic.

  34. Kate

Looking at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale this morning and seeing lots and lots of sweaters and tops with the same buttons as your wonderful new tee-shirt with shoulder treatment. Prices start at $100.00 and go up from there. Also lots of sweaters with buttons up the side, like the one you did for us years and years ago in WK. Always ahead of the curve…that’s our LDO.

  35. Dawn

    Hi Louis,

I don’t know if this has been asked but are the new upcoming sequin pants a slimmer leg? Will they be offered in a petite as well? At 5’6″ sometimes a regular 32″ inseam boot cut type leg is too long for me. When you offer a slimmer leg I’m able to make them work and the break doesn’t look bad. I don’t wear heels a lot anymore due to a bad knee. I’m thinking that the black sequin gauze tunic would look great with these new upcoming pants.

    Thanks for all you do.

    Dawn

    Dawn

    1. Joanne

I hope the new sequin pants are offered in petite. The 32″ inseam boot cut leg is way too long for me also.

        1. Dawn

          Thanks Louis!

  36. Carolyn

Petites! Petites! Tops too, not just bottoms. Can’t wait. Thank you.

  37. Chris S.

    Louis,

I ordered in the new colors of turquoise and ivory in the reordered crepe gauze tank, A293753. Do you have any matching jacket type pieces coming or are these meant as accent colors to pieces we already own? I love the crepe gauze!

    Thank you!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I turquoise is an accent…..there is the stand color crepe gauze jacket that matches.

      1. Chris S.

Thank you! I’ve been wearing the turquoise under navy, black, or white, but I was hoping for a matching piece in your beautiful turquoise. I have the white stand collar tunic, but the ivory tank doesn’t quite seem to match. I do love the ivory tank under the linen stand collar tunic, however.

    2. Joanne

I use the ivory gauze tank as an underpinning(usually tucked in) for the ivory suit that Louis did earlier in the summer. It is the perfect lightweight tank for under the suit. I use the ivory suit professionally and have taken it business traveling. Talk about wrinkle-less dressing.

  38. Penelope Z Andrews

    Dear Louis…

I want you to know how much I have loved your clothes over the past 20 years. I feel as though I have my very own talented designer and am a very fortunate woman to have discovered your lovely, “top drawer”, designs and their quality execution.

Thank you for the happiness you have provided to me and to all of your other devoted fans!

    1. Lynn H

I could write the exact same message with only changing the 20 years to one year – fortunate being the key word!

  39. Lynn H

Will the Pebble Crepe Boatneck Tunic be presented in any of your upcoming shows scheduled for this month?

  40. Judy

Good morning Louis, will we ever get lucky enough to get a new pair of full length pull on pebble crepe pants again. They are so needed with all these new colors in the reorder tunic? Please just a 32 inch inseam pull on black pebble crepe pants!

  41. Anonymous

Good morning Louis! Read Ruth’s question this a.m. and am trying to remember if this is the top that you mentioned would be available in petite? I have 3colors and love this top. Will be purchasing the other 3. I wear the turquoise as a dress with the orange seed beed necklace and turq/colorful wedges…not bad with a tan I must say. LOL. But may prefer petite. Thanks Louis. Love Linea. Pamela in the SS.

  42. Elizabeth Gabber

Hi Louis, I love reading every word you write here. I’ve been buying only your clothes for the past few months, no one else’s work even comes close.
And I’ve been really enjoying Jennifer. I think I read she has a radio background? I just know she’s perfect! She’s very kind and helpful when I leave her comments on Facebook. She’s understands your work and posted a few lovely photos on Facebook, actually Instagram with “Save the Date”. She feels like one of the family.
Elizabeth a Gabber, Salinas, CA age 73!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Elizabeth, I am so please to read this! You know this is a big WELCOME change for me…..quite a big step. When I met Jen for the interview I liked her immediately, but you never know. We decided to hire her. I hoped she was the right one! The more I know Jen and work with her the more I know this is a great match up. You are right, Jen is from radio and TV, not from Fashion at all, but she has a natural instinct about clothes and what looks good and what IS good. She learns very quickly, and already knows the ins and outs of QVC pretty well. We are keeping her involved with the collections from the ground floor so she will know the clothes as well, well almost as well as me! LOL. This coming Spring 2019 will be the first collection she has been involved with since the beginning, but she already knows all about the fall line coming up…..Jac sent me a good one!

  43. Ruth

The A288390 Pebble Crepe Boatneck Tunic is now posted on QVC with the new colors available to order. Of course, I couldn’t resist the Dark Teal but Merlot sounds wonderful too.
There are no photos posted. Could you take a moment to describe the new colors. Or even better, it would be wonderful to see photos taken in your studio of the new colors.
I did order the Dark Teal anyway and am hoping for the best!
Love and blessings to you and yours,
    Ruth

  44. Karen in WA

Louis, I have a fancy-smanchy affair to go to Sept 12. Any chance I will have a tux to wear?

  45. Donna Aflague

    Louis,
As we all know Jac had great taste. Both in men and candy. See’s is my favorite. It is not Christmas at our house without a big box of See’s. (Of course we don’t limit ourselves to just Christmas.)

Donna from the land of See’s

    1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Sadly I am Not from the land of Sees but I am a huge fan nonetheless. Sad, because I have to order online and some of my Favs don’t come online. Oh how I wish there were walk in stores in New England where you could get the freshest Sees. I smiled broadly upon finding out that Jac was a huge fan also!

  46. morganjen

Hello Louis, I have the 19″ Wooden Pendant Drop Necklace(J353998). There are a couple of areas on the back edge that are kind of rough and will snag the front of my Moss Crepe Top with Peplum Detail (A307191). Is there something you would recommend to sand the edges down so it doesn’t do this? Thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Morganjen. I would not recommend you doing it yourself. You should send it to my Manufacturer and explain the problem. Let them do it so you don’t harm the plating. Do you know where it send it? I know it has been posted a few times here….if not I will post it again for you. That is my best advise to solve the problem.

      1. morganjen

Thank you for responding. Please let me know where to send the piece. Yes, there seems to be split in the edge of the wood on the back.

You will need a check in the amount of $7.95 too. If the dollar amount is wrong, please correct my info. Thanks.

        2. Louis Dell'Olio

If you mean the silver piece isn’t sitting flush up against the wood they may not be able to do anything about that since the metal is flat and rigid and the wood has curves to it. The best they might be able to do is soften the edges of the metal.

    2. Tylerpoo

If it has not sold out, I would call CS and have them send you a replacement, then it wouldn’t cost you anything.

  47. Beryl

    Louis,
Hope you enjoyed the ice box cake. It’s been my daughter’s birthday cake for 50 plus years. Delish.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

it turned out perfectly……beginners luck! Today I got Jac’s receipt for her Bean Salad and her Red Cabbage Salad from her sister Marianne. They came out great too. I would sometimes help chop the cabbage for Jac. I really should wait over night, but I’ll have some of the Bean Salad tonight!

      1. Kathy/Wis

Those recipes all sound so good, I always loved when Jac would share one of her dishes. She should have published a cook book. If you could share the recipes it would be great. Thank you

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kathy….it would be my pleasure. I would be very proud to share what I know about Jac’s receipts. They really are very simple, and I’m sure many people use the same ones. That’s the kind of food she liked, and me too!
          Red Cabbage Salad:
1-Get a head of red cabbage and either slice or grate into bowl
2-Add a bunch of sliced scallions, and a chopped red pepper
          3-Add 1/3 cup vegetable oil
4-Add 2/3rds cup apple cider vinegar
          5-Add 1/4 cup sugar
MIX very well and put into frig. Best if left over night

          Three Bean Salad:
1-Take one can of chick peas, one can of kidney beans and one can of cut string beans….Drain in strainer. I give them a quick rinse. Put in bowl
2- Add one chopped red pepper and one bunch of chopped scallions
3-Mix the same amounts of vegetable oil, sugar, and apple cider vinegar as cabbage salad
4-Mix very well. To get the best taste leave overnight in frig. Best served close to room temperature.. If you want you can always add more vinegar or oil to taste.

          1. Kathy/Wis

Louis, Thank you so much.I will put these with the rest of Jac’s recepies. I will be trying them this weekend Thanks again for taking time out of your busy life to do this.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Please Kathy, let me know how they turn out! This is the first time I’ve made them from Jac’s receipt myself!

            2. Stephanie

Thanks so much for the recipes. They sound great for the summer.

            3. Louis Dell'Olio

These were actually Jac’s Mom’s receipts. Jac was an unusual child….she loved vegetables!

          2. Melissa W

Thanks so much for sharing Jac’s recipes!!

          3. Donna Aflague

            Louis,
Now we know why Jac was so slim. She liked vegetables. I like dessert which probably explains why I am my size! Would you please share the ice box cake recipe? I have never tried one.
            Thank you

            Donna from California!
P.S. I’ll try the other recipes as well. They do sound delicious.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Donna, scroll down to my reply to Karen in WI. I gave her the whole receipt there. You can also google Ice Box Cake for lots of variations. I can’t believe I’m giving out receipts! LOL Times have changed.

            2. Louis Dell'Olio

Donna….Jac loved Sees Dark Chocolate! I used to order it from Cal. by the pound. When she started taking medication her tastes changed, and she could no longer eat it. It just had a strange taste. Jac really missed her chocolate.

  48. Cathy in PA

Louis, I look forward to that dark, deep rich teal! I still remember a suit my mother made for a client when I was a girl. My mother was a very accomplished dressmaker, with just a few ladies she sewed for. The entire suit, fitted jacket and straight pencil-type skirt, were made in deep, rich teal silk velvet … an incandescent color. The lapels were a heavy re-embroidered white cotton lace the likes of which are not seen these days, as was the shell to match that went under the jacket. Teal has had my heart ever since 🙂

  49. Pratt

    Hi Louis,
I just noticed A297864 has dark magenta marked as waitlist. Was that an old color or is it coming up? Are there any pictures of the color?

    1. Pratt

It’s the leather jacket with knit sleeves.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

It’s a new color for next fall. I don’t know why they post these colors so early. I don’t have any samples for fall and won’t have them for a while. This I’d for next Oct!

      1. Pratt

Wow! That’s way too early to be posted online, haha. Thank you, Louis. At least, I can be excited about the new color 🙂

  50. Carolyn

She is beautiful as well as your history together. It’s touching to hear about it through your open, generous sharing. Blessings.

  51. Marilyn

What a lovely story! It was almost as if she was telling it through you. I used to love reading her tales. Thank you for sharing and please do again.

  52. maryinCT

    Louis,
I was lucky to get a blue nugget necklace recently and I love it! One of the small beads that holds the nuggets in place has loosened and moves, allowing the nugget to rest directly against the next nugget. It is right in the front so it is noticeable.
My choice is to keep the necklace but do you think this is repairable? I have had very good luck with your jewelry manufacturer and am willing to send this to them.
Hope you’re staying cool today…98 degrees here in central CT!!

    1. Carol

If you’re a crafty person, it’s easy to fix. The little disc that holds the bead in place can be carefully glued into position (like a toothpick with E6000). Otherwise, I think any jeweller can fix it in a NY minute. Probably for free if you’re a customer.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Mary….yes it would be an easy fix for them…send it in after the 4th. Holiday mail is always a mess.

  53. Ruth

    Dear Louis,
I like the color Turquoise that comes in your A293753 Gauze Crepe Asym Tank. I’m wondering if you could tell me if the color of turquoise in the A302599 Gauze Crepe Swing Shirt with Sequins is the same or similar. I can never be sure of a color based on my TV and my Computer.
    Thank you,
    Ruth

    1. Suellen/2E

I’ll jump in here to say that I have both of these pieces, and they’re beautiful! They’re the exact same fabric and the same color, and they match perfectly.

      1. Ruth

        Hi Suellen,
        Thanks so much!
I hope you’re having a lovely weekend and staying cool wherever you are.
        Ruth

        1. Suellen/2E

You’re so welcome, Ruth! I think you’ll love the color, it’s gorgeous!

  54. Dawn philbin

    Hi Louis,

Do you remember when you did the Teal WK TN a few years ago? I think it was the same year you did the Topaz WK TN. Just curious if that will match this years Teal offerings? I know you don’t keep your samples but it got me wondering.

    Thanks for all you do.

    Dawn

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Dawn…You are right…those samples were donated years ago. I can’t say for sure if they will work together. I believe the TN you speak of was a brighter peacock. This is a deeper teal.

      1. Ruth

        Hi Louis,
By now, you must know that you have me at “dark teal”. Would you be willing to share what items are coming in deep teal. Sorry if you already told us. I must have missed it.
Thanks for you kindness in answering our questions.
        Ruth

          1. Ruth

            Hmm…fair enough.

  55. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

Let’s talk summer knit pants! I love the new light weight pointe crop pant (A302601), but I love the slim leg pant even more! Here’s why: 1) The fabric in the slim leg dries in a flash 2) They roll up for travel without a wrinkle in sight 3) They feel lighter on the body, 4) The wider waist band is very flattering 5) They are the perfect ‘skinny’ leg for work or play. In contrast, the body/weight of the pointe (A265615) is heavier and they take a very long time to dry. Don’t get me wrong – I do like them but for summer I think I like the skinny pant fabric more. Please keep this fabric “alive” as you go about your designing!
    Susan

    1. vickybliss

Susan, what is the item number for the slim leg pants that you love? Thanks

      1. Celia

Vicky I could be wrong but I think she means the slim leg ankle pants A265615. Susan, correct me if I’m wrong!

        1. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

Yes that is what I meant….sorry

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Susan. I love that fabric too. Here is the problem. The lightest color I can do is the alabaster without a lining. White is see through. That is the reason for the other ponte. It wasn’t extremely see through considering everyone wears them with tunics, but it would never pass the buyers. So to line it would defeat the purpose.

  56. pamela

Awe,,,sad about the dark umber. I don’t think they were available to order in petites. I guess I could have the regular hemmed, but when I search reg, it appears they are the most limited color of ALL the choices. And would look so great with the black and amber seed bead necklace and cuff. Good for the ladies who got them!!! Thanks!

  57. Seka

Louis, you mentioned that your Scarlet Red will be a significant colour for your Fall – Winter collection. I am planning on purchasing your Long Red Trench for sure! Wondering if there will be Whisper Knit Sweaters & Cardigans in this beautiful Red. Any bottoms – a Midi Whisper Knit Skirt or Dress perhaps?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Seka…….I will have 4 other items in Scarlet Red. There aren’t any new sweaters, but there will be the reorder of the TN swing in SR. I did quite a few SC sweaters in WK already. There will be a Dressy top, a bottom, and another piece which is a huge secret! It will be a BIG DEAL item! There aren’t any red dresses or skirts this coming season.

      1. Seka

Thank you, Louis! Will look forward to seeing the Sneak Peeks when the time comes! Am excited about the Dressy Top – the Bottom – and the BIG DEAL!
        Seka.

      2. Suellen/2E

Thanks so much, Louis! The Scarlet Red trench is a must have, and I can’t wait to see these other items, too!

      3. Claudia

I’m thrilled to hear about your red items in the pipeline! I’m a brunette trapped in a blonde body, but I LOVE red! Can’t wait!

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Claudia, why do you say that??? Jac was almost a platinum blond, naturally, and always looked great in red, especially red lipstick!

  58. Debra

    Dear Louis,

    I have a fish story for you…..
I was shopping when a woman came over to me and said “I see your fish necklace…..I have it in the gold and antique gold. I showed her that I was wearing my copper ox fish necklace over the light blue A304750 maxi dress with a black sweater 3/4 sleeve bolero that I purchased on Amazon.

We began to discuss our purchases of Linea clothing and that it is the only designer line that we purchase on QVC. She talked about how well everything fits and how much she loves how it looks on her as a plus size woman.

I told her that I have been wearing your clothing for many years and in differing sizes as I lost weight.

It was a sweet encounter and I am so glad that she came over to mention you, the necklace, and a shared Linea comeraderie moment.

    Take good care.

    Debra

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That’s a very lovely story…..A quickie for you….the last time I was at the Q there was some time between shows, so Jennifer and I decided to go to Wegmans, a super duper grocery store chain in PA. Jen lives in Philly and there aren’t any Wehmans there and there aren’t any here in CT. Jac and I used to make our stop there to pick up nibbles for our trip home and things to have in the hotel. Jen had heard so much about it but had never been……so….we went, and were doing our thing, picking up this and that, just killing time. Jen noticed this woman following us and staring at us, and said very politely “can I help you”. The woman replied, “don’t I know him? isn’t he on TV??” Jen told her who I was and she said, “I knew it!”. Jen asked for her name, called me over and introduced us. We chatted for a while…..The encounter was very sweet. I don’t usually run into people that recognize me, or if they do they don’t say so, so this was very special to both Jen and myself

      1. Debra

That is so sweet!! I wish you could have heard all of the wonderful things this woman said about you. We discussed each piece I was wearing and she raved about you, your flattering cuts, and how we have both enjoyed your pieces for many years!!
Thank you – yes, I would recognize you too 🙂
Wegmans in PA, Pathmark in CT, Shoprite in MD & NY — lots of great places for goodies for the trip home!

  59. Carol

I’m so loving the Aztec necklace and earrings sets I bought. For me, the paddle earrings are the perfect earring size and shape. I would really love to have those earrings in your shiny metals, too. I’d buy sets of those earrings for me and for gifts. If the Q lets you make more earring sets next year, maybe consider these?

  60. Stephanie

Hope the rolling bangle comes back. Ordered gunmetal, and received a complete EMPTY box!! Q doesn’t order or reorder enough, and it looks like they have thieves to boot!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Stephanie, that is the first time I’ve ever heard that, an empty box!!!! That is outrageous!! I’ve heard of open boxes and the item at the bottom of the shipping bag, but an empty box….never. I hope QVC did something for you. How can you prove it was empty??!! That’s terrible. What was supposed to be there?

      1. Tylerpoo

I had 4 of the bangles and 2 other items ordered, received NONE of them! I got a box with 3 other items that I did not order. My order went to someone else and their order came to me! Crazy!!!! I got on waitlist for the bangles and the other 2 items were re-ordered.

  61. Ruth

    Hi Louis,
I’m wondering what you think of the interesting use of big, square scarves in the ten page spread of the July issue of Vogue. Your Lily scarf would have looked marvelous in one of those photos.
    Ruth

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Ruth….I was quite taken aback! I think the Lily scarf would have given all the others competition!

      1. Ruth

Absolutely! You always have your fingers on the pulse of what’s happening in fashion.

        1. Nancy

Agreed, Ruth! Those scarves are far and away some of the most glorious ones available in the commercial world at large.

          1. Goldie76

I am not “NANCY.” Now I have been stricken by the “that’s not my name” virus. I am “Goldie76.”

  62. Judy M

Louis on item A302602 there is a black and silver necklace ,is that the new carnival that’s on waitlist? also are the earrings the model has on the ones that are coming in July?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Judy, no that is the old Bold Hoop. The new hoop is smaller and they are now coming in Sept or Oct. The Carnival necklaces are coming in Sept.

  63. Tylerpoo

Ditto what Pamela is saying about the dark umber ponte petite pants, perhaps that is one of the colors in the petite that is coming in the Fall, since it only came in the Regular size before, I hope so! Thanks Louis for all you do for us!! I get so many compliments on your clothing/jewelry, I have a personal Designer like no other!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Tylerpoo….the dark umber pant has not been reordered. Out of all the colors it was the slowest to sell. It caught on very late. The buyers felt the performance of this color wasn’t strong enough to bring back. That is what happens to all the “fashion ” colors. That’s why I say if you want them get them while they are avail. Black, navy, grey and sometimes taupe are the usual reorder colors. All others are usually a one shot deal. Wine, dk. olive, raspberry etc are one and done. Port will be a new color…a very important color…..so I suggest you get them when they come out and they will be in petite.

      1. Carol

Besides port, any hints as to what other colors will be important in you fall collection? It would really help me when editing my closet for the new season. Judging by the wait listed new Carnival necklace colors, I’m guessing teal and caramel, too?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Bingo!….The thing about my collections is the new will always work with the old…..Miss detective…..you should have also picked up on the fact that Scarlet Red will be appearing again. I think it’s the perfect RED.

          1. julie

So Louis since Detective Carol figured out about Teal for fall, does that mean the Pebble Crepe Boatneck tunic A288390 in Teal will FINALLY make its debut????? I’ve been so patient waiting for it!!

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Julie……This July your wish will come true! You know how certain things always stay with you…..My mother had the most amazing Mohair suit in TEAL…..It was an incredibly deep rich color. The fabric was a beautiful quality, and yes it was fuzzy, bur she was quite slim and wore it well.

            2. julie

Awesome news Louis, thanks for granting my wish!!!

  64. Pamela

Hi Louis. I know its too late…but …would LOVE the super ponte petite pants, any leg style in dark umber to match new wood jewels, brown tops etc. Thanks so much for all!! Pamela in the SS.

  65. Sallie

Dear Louis, I noticed on the listing for the Carnival necklace that four new color options are given as ‘waitlist”….of course, no photos. Will you be “sneak-peeking” them here soon? (there is a nice offer of 4 Easy Pays today). : ) Thanks.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sallie, it was a QVC mistake to post the wait list this early, and they were going to take it down, because they won’t be avail until Sept. If you go on wait list now they probably will automatically be cancelled because it’s longer then 3 months. I will n ot be posting sneak peeks but I will be showing them on my July shows. The models will have to do some fast switching because I only have one of each, and won’t get more until Sept.
