    Hi Louis,
Just a heads up. I just received a notice that the tobacco composition jacket A225867 is not available for immediate shipment. If it is only delayed, there is no problem. However, the Q goes on to state…If we’re unable to get additional quantities of this item, you’ll be notified of your order cancellation with our regrets.
I am confused, as I stalked the Q until the new items were posted and I ordered immediately after they were posted, even before the pictures were posted the evening before anything was presented. Hope this didn’t happen to too many consumers. Quite frustrating. I will call customer service and express my dismay but I thought you would want to know about this issue.
    Thanks,
    Donna from California

Hi Louis, What would you think of wearing the crepe gauze jacket over your A290988 Gauze Pull-Over Dress. The dress is not really a sheath but it is narrow at the bottom and above the knee on me. I haven’t received my jacket yet, to try on with my dress but thought I’d ask you for your opinion in advance.

  3. Beryl

    Louis,
Don’t want to be a pest but my aztec necklace broke and I’m heartbroken. I know you’ve sent the name and address of your jewelry repair company and I wrote it down. Now I can’t find it. Could you please send it again. I love that necklace.
    Thanks, Berylg

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Thanks so much. You are wonderful.

      2. gapeach

Thanks for giving this address again, as I, too, need to return a necklace. I now have it in my address book for this and future references.

I am looking forward to my 7 purchases from your last appearances and look forward to the ones on July 27th and 28th. It’s great having you on more frequently.

Received my insider today and on page 28 the most lovely blouse by linea in perfectly pink. A flutter sleeve and what looks like a flounce at the bottom…A294604 available July 28……Love it….What other colors will it come…. can’t wait for sneak peek…..Tricia

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

WOW….they are showing that early. It was supposed to be part of my August group. I don’t even know what show it will be on……Maybe my QVC2 show on 7/28 at 8:00pm. The other color are Winter White and Black. Great background colors for jewelry!

  5. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Louis, would the new crepe gauze jacket make an appropriate topper over the sleeveless crepe gauze dress A0288392? I’m thinking in terms of cut, not so much the color.

    1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

      A288392

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy…..I tried the two on my form and I think it’s just too much fabric together. The flowy top and the flowy skirt are too overwhelming. The gauze cardi would be better over a shorter sheath dress or just the tank and the WK pencil skirt or a WK tank and skirt with the cardi.

      1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Thank you Louis. I knew you would know and thank you for checking that out for me. It is greatly appreciated!

      2. Ruth

  6. vickybliss

I have the same question that Judi asked, “I have the stand collar top/shirt in the linen shade. I’d like to wear it with the dark sand pants. What color top would you suggest wearing underneath if I choose to wear the stand collar shirt open?”

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Ivory is your best bet…..like the new WK shell…..then you can place with accessories.

      1. Judi

        Thank you Louis!

  7. Katie

Louis, I ordered the 3 new crepe gauze stand collar button down tops in the new colors ut they have them waitlisted and I am afraid they will cancel them. Is there a reason for this and thanks so much in advance.

    1. Katie

      Item # A287617.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Katie…..as soon as a reorder is placed the computers list the colors, which they shouldn’t do! It’s a programming problem. They will hold a wait list for 3 months and them cancel it. Since the delivery for this is well beyond 3 months expect to get a cancel notice. This is done automatically by the computer program.

        1. Katie

Thank you Louis. I received all 3 sets of the peble crepe outfits and love them. The pants fit perfectly. You brought us so many wonderful outfits and have many happy Linea ladies.

  8. Gayle

Louis, I loved the show. I purchased the sand cardi & tried to order the matching tank, but it sold out. Do you have any suggestions of any other top that is in that yummy color? I also purchased the pants in the dark sand. Thank you in advance.

  9. Ceiei

Just received 3 piece black set. Love it. So many possibilities. I am 5 3 and the length is perfect. No need to hem. The wider gauze pant needed to be shortened but these don’t. My usual size was perfect. I had considered sizing down in the top due to measurements but it would have been snug across back. Also, the length of jacket worked well on my frame. Very elegant.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Ceiei……are you talking about the 3 black Crepe Gauze items I just showed this Monday?????? If so that was incredibly quick. Please post on the Linea QVC Forum your review! I know there were lots of women your height who were hesitant about the proportion and fullness, but it’s basically the same body as the mandarin collar crepe gauze shirt/jacket…which everyone loved….and the fabric is so light and drapes into the body.

      1. Ceiei

Yes. It was the gauze. When I love something, I express order in case I need a different size or multiples. This saves a liot of disappointment and stalking items. It is worth extra dollars in my opinion. I will gladly post a review for all three pieces.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear ceicei……I am so happy to hear you love your gauze pieces, This was my one of my favorites.

I’m so excited for your upcoming jewelry show. What can we do to make sure this show is a success and will give your jewelry line more budget? Does buying during the show score more points, or do any sales help? Asking because I hate waiting for the shows to buy any Linea for fear of sellouts.

  11. Enjay

Louis, I couldn’t resist the India tunic in those gorgeous colors – bought the navy and fuschia. And backups for the black and navy slim pants, which are the best ever.

A quick question, I own and love A233947, the whisper knit mock neck tank you did a few years ago – wear the black constantly. How does you upcoming Big Deal compare to that?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Enjay, since I no longer have those samples I can remember exactly, but I believe they were in the jersey knit, and this new version is in the Wvery Needle Rib construction. The obvious difference is this is a true Turtle Neck, not a mock.

  12. Mary H

Thank you for doing those lovely neutrals. Of course I had to buy the tank and pants in sand and black. I also had to get the slim pants in navy. Plus I had to get the WK short sleeve in alabaster, black and navy. What wonderful classics.

  13. Donna Aflague

    Hi Louis,
Greatly appreciate your sneak peeks. Seven of your fabulous new items are on their way to me. Loved the suggestion to pair the whisper knit swing tank with a blouse for fall. Here are my questions:
    1. Pant legs are much slimmer in smaller sizes than in plus which is what I wear. I realize my hips are much bigger which makes the legs wider but I’m wondering if legs can be tapered in larger sizes when you intend the pant to have slim legs? Example,A265615, the knit pull on slim leg pants. I have the black and navy and just ordered the alabaster. In my size, the leg looks like a normal leg pant. Currently, I have the pants altered so they have the intended look. Wondering if this could be done in manufacturing?
    2. I am on wait list for A287617, the crepe gauze mandarin collar tunic in navy. Wondering if the navy tunic will match the sleeveless navy (not) chiffon hem tunic?
Or is it impossible to tell until manufactured?
    You are the best!
    Thanks,
    Donna from California

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Donna…..I too have noticed that the slim pant leg doesn’t look as slim as it should on plus sizes. I notice this when I see some styles on Maria. This is done in the grading, which I have nothing to do with, but I will say something about this to the fitters. It would help to know what size you are to see if they are allowing too much for your size………which navy tunic are you referring to?

      1. Chris S.

        Louis,
Thank you for looking into the issue of very wide pant legs in the larger sizes. This happens quite often. One that stood out most recently is the new pebble crepe crop pants. There was a big difference in the width of the leg on the XL which Maria was wearing compared to the smaller sized girls. Maria’s pants were very full compared to the others. It was very noticeable in the original presentation of the garment. It almost looked like they were wearing different style pants! I looked on the QVC site, but the original presentation has been replaced. I wear an XL. I kept the pants, but wish they weren’t so baggy in the legs.

      2. Donna Aflague

Thank you for responding Louis. I am a 1 or 2X depending on pant. As you can see from Chris S’s comments this even happens with XL sizes. I purchased both the navy and black in A288391 and the legs are nothing like they look on the models with the exception of Maria as you and Chris S. pointed out.

The navy tunic I was referring to is A276293,the crepe gauze tank with “chiffon” bottom. I had asked if A287617, the waitlist crepe gauze mandarin collar tunic in navy would match.
        Thanks again.
        Donna from California

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Donna….this is a follow up…..I have reached out to my manufacturer and the QVC fit team and they are reviewing this…….I am sure some future adjustments will be made.I only see the size sm in out fit meetings, and the grading is a QVC decision.

          1. Donna Aflague

            Louis,
Thank you for caring enough to address the pant leg size issue. If QVC sees fit to make some adjustments, I’m sure the ladies who wear size large and up will be extremely pleased.
            Donna from California

      3. Linda in AZ

        Louis,
I am going to add my comments on the wide leg pants. I bought the Gauze pants in size Large. Sadly, I decided to send them back, because the legs were just too wide. I have ordered the Dark Sand pants, to try again. Loved the Gauze fabric however.

  14. CR

Thank you for all the sneak peeks! Having photos and information in advance of the shows really helps me make smart purchasing decisions.

Yesterday I ordered 3 pairs of one of my favorite pants, A265615 Pull-On Slim Ankle Pant. I was so pleased to see the navy! I missed out on it the first time, and I am a big-time fan of navy. Now I’ll own all the colors except pale khaki.

Do you anticipate having dark chocolate tops in the fall? (I purchased the dark chocolate pants.)

I also bought the India top in fuchsia. I dearly love orange, but it is not a color that looks good on me. This top most likely will work with my fair-skinned winter coloring because it has so much fuchsia in it. Thank you for combining these two beautiful colors!

  15. Pat Hill

    Hi Louis,
Great shows yesterday. I bought lots, probably too many. I thought there was going to be three new colors in the Linea Leisure t- shirt, pool, cornflower blue and Carnation pink. They have not been posted. Do you know if they are coming or should I stop looking for them?

    Pat

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Pat…..they are for next spring…..next year….so….stop looking for them you have months to go.

      1. Cheri

Louis, Have pretty much same question the gauze tee shirt has been showing up every now and then in yellow and the same with the gauze tank with chiffon bottom in buttercup. I am guessing these are meant for next spring also. But the Q will have them one day and not the next just teasing us I guess. Thank you for a wonderful show I got all the celedon and sand tank with the ivy pants and dark sand along with the alabaster and dark chocalate slim pants I am one happy lady.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cheri…..I don’t have a clue why those items are showing up in yellow and buttercup????? They have not been ordered in those colors and they won’t be ordered in those colors…..a QVC mystery!

          1. Cheri

Thank you for solving the mystery of the two tops I love yellow and get every item you have in yellow. I would love these tops in yellow. Am waiting for the items I ordered on Monday. Having a hard time waiting love the celedon and sand
Looking for to your next show. Thank you again for all you do for us. I love to just hear how you choose the colors and how you describe the material and what all goes into the production of the outfit..

  16. Kate

Wow, you sold a lot of clothes yesterday! Lots of women are going to be very happy in a week when their new things arrive. So many of us have summer brain right now, so its a real tribute to your brand that so much was sold. I was just going to buy the alabaster India tunic–instead I bought all three, all four colors of the new swing tank, and two more pair of your slim pants. Sigh…

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes, both shows were very good….everyone was pleased with the results.

  17. Joanne

I am also glad I purchased the three black pieces of the gauze crepe outfit. I business travel. I can take that three piece outfit and not worry about wrinkles. I thought that suit would be perfect for summer traveling, because I can dress it up for evening and down for during the day. I can also put my ivory high neck whisper knit jersey tank with the jacket for a different look for second day professionally. You are right Seka. It is almost all sold out in black. After I receive and try on, I probably will have to stalk to get a second pair of pants.

  18. Seka

    Louis,
Great Show! Got my Crepe Gauze pieces in Black (all 3 Items) – which are now pretty much Sold Out!

  19. Sylvia Pickich

YES! Thank you for the “sneak peeks” and the great descriptions of each item, with accessories! And Thanks to Jac for the pictures of her wearing the beautiful clothes! I went a little bit crazy today. Everything is sooo pretty! I bought 6 things…. 😉

  20. By the C

New WK tank and faux de chine blouse posted without photos.
Does anyone know by chance if the measurements listed on QVC for the swing tank are correct–says bottom opening is 2 feet more than chest measurements. Many thanks.🏖

  21. gapeach

I just got through buying the items I wanted from today’s shows–I think–based on what you have shown so far. In case others are wondering, it looks like all are posted now, except maybe the crepe gauze tank, though colors aren’t shown. I got 5 items in all–they’ll be wonderful transition pieces, as well as into fall/winter in the south. It’s so helpful that you post them here on your blog, so we can decide before they are actually shown on QVC. It gives us a head start. Now I will anxiously await them. I did watch the 7:00 AM show, and look forward to seeing the others.

    1. Joanne

I purchased my items from today’s shows last night prior to his 1:00 a.m.cst show. Toughest part was making decisions as to which color. I purchased some beautiful classy items. We are so lucky that Louis shows us and answers questions about his merchandise with accessories etc. on his blog. QVC had no photo’s of the new items. We would all be scrambling during his shows if he was not so amenable and helpful to his customers. It enables us to make decisions in leisure and not scramble, lose and later have to stalk.

Like Gapeach I can now just enjoy his presentations and study the way he puts his lovely designs together.

  22. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Louis, would the new crepe gauze jacket make an appropriate topper over the sleeveless crepe gauze dress? I’m thinking in terms of cut, not so much the color.

      1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

A0288392 the gauze crepe asymmetrical hem dress.

  23. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Louis, you “teased” in sneak peeking the black swing sleeveless WK top about a long black WK skirt coming this Fall about which I am very excited. Will it also come in other colors?

      1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

        Thany you sir. 😊

  24. 1jac

Louis what is the difference between your alabaster slim leg pant and the light khaki, which I already own? I also have the alabaster ss wk sweater, which to my eye works with the light khaki pant. Thanks.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jac….if you own those two pieces you can see the difference. The light khaki is a little more grey. The Alabaster pant is more of a match to all the Alabaster pieces, but if the lt. khaki works for you then you don’t need the Alabaster. I will say that I probably won’t repeat the lt khaki again, because the other styles I did in that color (Moss Crepe) didn’t sell well, but I will continue with Alabaster.

      1. Stephanie Ross

Hi, Louis! Similar question: Is the Ivory Whisper Knit long cardigan a close match with the New Alabaster swing tank?

  25. Sheesh

Hi, Louis. Is the Color Block Cardigan coming back in new colors to go with the Navy and Perfectly Pink SS WK Tops? Thanks much.

    Sheesh

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No……once an item goes to clearance it becomes a “killed” item

  26. gapeach

I just viewed your new “India” tunic, and it is breathtaking!!! Since I am a “blue girl”, I will definitely be ordering that one, but I imagine I will buy them all; especially after seeing them on TV. I am hoping this is the fabulous piece you were hinting at when you wrote about the times of your appearances on this coming Monday. You really knocked it out of the ballpark with this one.

By the way, hurrah for the reorder of the Mardi Gras necklace. I wrote you about what a hit it was when I wore it to my high school reunion last April. I told several I would let them know if and when I heard anything. I am posting it on my class’s facebook page as soon as I finish this.

It’s great hat things are looking up in how QVC is giving you more exposure, even the jewelry show. Do you know when the Mardi Gras necklace might be presented?

    Penny

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Penny…..it’s scheduled for the 4th quarter which means Oct. Nov. or Dec….my guess would be Oct. or Nov.

  27. Sheesh

Hi, Louis. I have a confession to make. I took a pair of my White Lined Gauze Pants and cut the lining out! I wear with a tunic, so I did not need “the modesty”. I just wanted them as light and breezy as possible, so I very carefully cut the entire lining out—et voila, I now have the pant that works best for me. I wish the Q would not insist on a lining for the white pants—but you cannot stop a determined woman with a pair of scissors!

    All the best, Sheila/Sheesh

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I would have done the same thing!!! Jac always cuts the linings out since she doesn’t tuck anything. She cut the lining out of here alabaster gauze pant….it makes a huge difference.Do you think the white pant is see through without the lining???

  28. Goldie76

May I say it, Louis? Your three new “India” tunics are peerless. A woman searching for something like this could go to the finest stores and boutiques and come away with nothing superior to your new tunics. Breathtakingly beautiful!

  29. Carol B

A 267882 – SS Whisper Knit Sweater. Could you wear the Perfectly Pink with the Perfectly Pink Whisper Knit skirt (A273880) from last year? Thanks

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Absolutely!……It will be on my Aug show so you will have it before I show it…..and i will show it with the skirt

  30. Seka

Just read on CNN that QVC is buying HSN! Deal expected to be completed 4th Qtr 2017.

  31. Michelle

Great news! The Whisper Knit short sleeve top (A267882) is back in stock. All sizes are currently available in the four color choices — alabaster, black, navy and perfectly pink. So happy that, at long last, the alabaster top will be mine.

    Michelle

  32. Donna Aflague

    Hi Louis,
Your vacation pics were so beautiful. Jac looked extremely stylish in all your designs. Loved the pic with your feet. It looked so cozy. Thanks for sharing. I’m excited about the new items. Question, would the bluebell shell (A287618) work with blue composition jacket? Thanks for everything you do to make the Linea ladies lovely. (How’s that for an alliteration.)
    Donna from California

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Donna….not really….the bluebell is brighter and more saturated….I tried them together….not good IMO.

  33. Susan R

Good afternoon! I was delighted to see the WK swing tank preview. The colors are delicious and needless to say, all four will be coming home to me! can you tell me if this is in the ENR or the lighter version?

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to your next show!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

It’s the med. weight which is the lightest I have used. It’s the same as the tank tunic in black, scarlet red and ivory which is being reordered.

  34. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Good morning Louis: Is the beautiful new composition jacket cut along similar lines to the animal print jacquard zip front jacket – A230025 – one of the best fitting Linea jackets of all time?

Also, so thrilled with the new swing tops!

    1. Joanne

      Hi Louis
      Ditto to Nancy’s question
I also want to know if the composition jacket is cut the same way as your animal jacquard. I own 4 of those jackets. They are so flattering. The new composition jackets look to have the same quality besides being slimming – accessorizing differently each time you wear the composition jacket.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Joanne the idea is they should look the same……that said they are totally different fabrics so they are separate fittings. The same pattern can not be used for both

  35. Seka

The Slim Ankle Pant A265615 we’ve all been waiting for is Posted in the New Colours – Alabaster and Dark Chocolate!
Some sizes are still missing e.g. XXS & XS in Alabaster not yet posted.

    1. Mimi

Hi Louis. I feel this site should be just for your responses but I would like the ladies to know, the slim ankle pants (A265615) are now in stock in the xxs. I just ordered 4 more pairs, in the new colors. I have to take them in, in the hip but it’s really easy. Don’t wait, you’ll loose out especially in the xxs. You and Jac looked soooo relaxed in your Anguilla pics. I’m sure after your July shows, you’ll need another vacation. Take care and as always, my regards to a Jac and remember, all of your ladies appreciate what you do for us!

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Thanks so much Mimi………you are correct…..I’m so behind in my work that I need another vacation……That relaxed feeling doesn’t last long!

    2. Joanne

      Thanks Seka
Those pants are the best! I own multiples of all colors. Best part they can be dressy as well as casual.

  36. Goldie76

I like the new Composition Book jacket and will be fully traditional with a black and white version. My Composition Book was always a favorite school item in addition to my new box of Crayola crayons and brand spanking new pencil box.

Was vacationing in Ocean City, Md., and Rehoboth Beach, Del. Just returned a couple days ago.

Thanks to all the Linea Ladies who supported me with my recent fashion “faux pas” of a different sort. One last word on this: Perhaps I should not tell fellow Greeks about this as some now seem to view me differently, as though I am not “Greek enough.” My sole surviving aunt from my mother’s side seems hesitant to test lest she find she is “less pure” than she always thought. I am fairly certain that most Greeks and those of full Greek descent share my not-so-unusual concoction of DNA. Such a strange outcome of this test …

That area of the world was such a crossroads.

And Barbara from Virginia and I have another connection besides those she stated: Her son played with my nephew when they were tots. It wasn’t just that she had written about the topic of DNA testing and has a mutual love of Linea.

Thanks to all those who wrote kind and understanding comments that made it possible for me to return. You know who you are, 1jac, Seka, WNYGal, Fairfax, Qulia and Katie. I cannot thank vickybliss enough for her info that gave me greater insight into my DNA.

    1. Goldie76

      Barbara from Virginia,

My muddled writing made it sound as though I did not regard your message as filled with “kind and understanding” words. I did and I thank you for intuiting why I singled you out. I’ve never forgotten that you teased out the discovery that you knew my nephew’s family.

      ~Goldie76 (Maria)

  37. Melanie- IAM4UK

    Dear Louis,
I loved your pictures of your vacation & Miss Jac looked beautiful in all your pieces (really liked the shot of her in the ivory dress at sunset! & the toes picture that says it all about your frame of mind 🙂 )
In your jewelry prototypes, do you have any necklaces with sailboats? And this question if probably silly, but have you ever considered a “Best in Show” or dog charm/ design necklace? I can only imagine the quality & beauty you would do to either of those subjects.
Thank you so much & I am so glad to see your beautiful jackets coming, I can take a break from stalking your new listings if they won’t be offered until your show dates.
Hope you have a great day & thanks again so much for allowing me to join your forum, my daughters love watching your videos, they love the shows with Antonella.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Melanie….I’m not big on animal jewelry….the fish was an exception, but I had done it at Anne A. Klein and new how beautiful it was. They choose so few styles that to do a dog charm isn’t my first choice. I will say the jewelry for next spring is incredible……

  38. Bernadette

    Hi Louis,

I just saw yours and Jac’s vacation pictures. I noticed Jac was wearing a pink-ish sea glass necklace. Will we be seeing this in the future? And maybe the multi colored necklace in the picture where she is sitting at a table in the evening? Both are fabulous!

On a side note… the whole time I was anxiously awaiting the blue sea glass necklace I kept having dreams about buying a red one! Crazy, huh? Lol 🙂

I’m glad you all have a wonderful time.
    Bernadette

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Bernadette……those pieces are both prototypes of Spring 2018 pieces. Since I have developed about 52 styles for them to choose from 8 to 10 styles…..maybe yes and maybe no. Jac was giving them a test run. The necklace was Bright Pink to match the Boho skirt. The multi color resin bead necklace is fabulous and goes with everything.

      1. Katie

I just spotted the multi color resin necklace, she looks beautiful and I LOVE the necklace. Maybe after backordering the seaglass and seedbead on me, then canceling them, just maybe I can catch this one if it comes. Thank you for sharing your vacation pics, it looks wonderful and I hope you and Jac had a great time.

        1. luvitorleaveit

I also missed out on the Mardi Grass necklace but I am loving the Beach Glass set and would love to own the multi color resin bead necklace too!

          1. Louis Dell'Olio

  39. Tour Eiffel

    Dear Louis —

I have multiples of every one of your cotton shirts — the Kate, the Robyn, the English gardener tunic, the zipper peplum, the bow tie (am I forgetting any? If so, I’m sure I have it too). They are my favorites for sure. I believe you said the Kate is retiring. Will you be bringing us any new cotton shirts? Thanks for considering!!

    My best,
    Tour Eiffel

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Tour Eiffel……you forgot the wing collar and the sleeveless cotton shirts. The wing collar has been reordered. I do have some cotton shirts coming for next spring, but they are different from the past shirts.

      1. Tour Eiffel

Thank you, Louis. I’m forgetful … I have multiples of the wing collar, both long sleeve and sleeveless, too. Happy to hear new cotton shirts are coming for next spring! Happy 4th of July!

  40. Terri

Louis…..I “hear” that A265615 will be coming back soon in alabaster. Will any of the sold out colors be made available as well? Hoping for a reorder of navy! Many thanks!

  41. Kate

Jewelry request (’cause if you don’t ask…)!

I love and collect all sorts of coin jewelry. I wonder if at some point you might dive into your archieves and perhaps come up with a few pieces? I love mine in the summer in particular–something about it just looks beachy to me!

  42. Judy

I’m so excited about the new color cypress in the leisure line. Is that the only new color coming in this pant?

  43. Mimi

if you’re still on vacation enjoy! If not, enjoy your summer. See you in August! As always, send regards.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Mimi…..I do have shows in July! 7/10 at 2:00am and 5:00pm plus my QVC2 BIG DEAL on the 27th at 9pm and 28th at 8pm

      1. Mimi

Thanks. I forgot about those shows but I always have them listed on my calendar, so I never miss a beat!

      2. Joanne

        Hi Louis
Hope you had a great time on your vacation.
I am looking forward to the new slim ankle alabaster pants. I own multiples of those pants in every color. What is your QVC Big Deal on July 27?

        Thanks

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Joanne…..not yet……but I will say it’s an item that has been requested many times…….I would call is a “Classic Essential”

  44. Chris/Jazzmom

Louis the Leisure pants with pockets Regular inseam has on waitlist a new color — Cypress. (A262070). The Petite inseam style (A262072) doesn’t show this new color yet. Can you describe what the Cypress color will be? Will this be a fall or winter item? Thank you.

      1. Sheesh

Sounds great and a “must have”!

        1. Chris/Jazzmom

Yes! These are my workhorse pants! Looking forward to the reorders & the new colors.

          1. luvitorleaveit

Thank you big time Louis for the Cypress (olive) leisure pants, I wasn’t sure these were coming back so I was able to get all the other colors. These are my workhorse go to pants as well! Now to wait for the new color to become available to order!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

It eventually will, but since they won’t be avail until Q1, Jan, Feb, March, any orders placed now will probably be canceled

  45. Bernadette

    Hi Louis,

I hope this post finds you doing well!

Will we see any new jewelry before your August jewelry show? I would love to have the new fish necklace in patina to go with my slate green chemise dress. I love this dress and hope to see it in many new colors. The fit is wonderful and fits a lady the way it should without giving away all her secrets!

Thank you for all you do!!!
    Bernadette

  46. Kathy/Wis

I too feel so fortunate to have a fashion designer to take the time to answer our questions. This is very special to me and people that abuse this sight should be ashamed to use this site for personal messages!

    1. Judy

Thank you Kathy, I completely agree. I see she apologized and continued to post her nonsense!

    2. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Ladies, I’m sure Goldie got the message. And none if us have lost anything. A lot of us – almost all of us strangers to one another, have come to love and appreciate Goldies fashion posts. This was unusual for her and I’m sure won’t be happening again. Now, please everyone has a really good day!

    3. Karen in WA

      AMEN

  47. Renee

Thank you for what you said Joanne I too look forward too see what advice Louis will give on fashion and jewelry

  48. Joanne

    Ladies
This Louis’s blog where he is kind enough to answer a multitude of questions and give advice on his fashions/jewelry. I come here to to read about his clothing.

    Thank you Louis.

    1. Judy

Yes, I am not in the least bit interested in Goldie’s DNA or her lineage!

      1. Katie

I don’t even know Goldie, but I am appalled that some of you are so very rude! Louis often takes time to give advice about places to see if going to N.Y., seeing plays, and various other things. She said she knew Louis was off and things were slow.I am beginning to think this blog is just for rude snobs. I have always enjoyed this blog and own one of almost everything he has made, but that in no way justifies point blank cruelty to someone.I am a nurse and see the end result from others treating them like you have chosen to treat Goldie. It is just so wrong and you should be ashamed of yourselves.Judy, if you are not the least bit interested in Goldie’s dna or lineage, you at least could keep that to yourself.

  49. Fairfax

a268216 – Ponte pants shows two more colors coming. Besides smoke and fawn, I now see dark olive and alabaster . Yea!! Four new colors.

    1. Katie

why is it showing it is all sold out when they havn’t come out yet?
      //

      1. Seka

Katie – That seems to be the Q’s Process for ordering New Colours for existing Items. The Colour Names show up as ‘Waitlist’ – then they will disappear at some point – and when the Product actually arrives – everything will get posted for ordering. BTW – A268216 Ponte Pants are my favourite – can’t wait for the New Colours!

  50. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Louis, any plans to bring back A267864 in new colors. I LOVE this cardi and am pipe dreaming about it in Linea navy. I’m almost enjoying these more in summer than in winter. Over a skeeveless item they are lucious on the bare skin. Today I’m wearing one over the new v neck long tunic top in peach – it’s 48 this morning and stormy. -Yet but another item I’m thoroughly enjoying (a290991). So any hope of a coming navy version in this cardi?

Goldie, I understand excited enthusiasm about ancestry. I wonder if all that interesting mix has helped make you the gracious poster you always are? Food for thought.

    1. By the C

Yes! I love that button front whisper knit cardigan, A 267864. My favorite Linea garment, well almost! Have so many but need more, esp. navy, so thanks Nancy.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy, as of now it’s not coming back, but you never know.

      1. Pecan Cookie

Ack! I’ll have to go get the red since it’s the only color currently listed that I don’t have. Must have been an oversight. Drat to no “new” but there’s always something around the corner. Keep on sketching! Thanks Louis

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

The red is beautiful….you won’t be disappointed. If the long tunic tank in the red is still avail it’s a perfect match.

          1. Qulia

I’m surprised the Mallard color is still available. It is a gorgeous year-round color. Every time, and I do mean every time, I wear it I get a complement on the color. I’m hoping for more in this shade.

            Julia

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Me too! It’s such a fabulous color. For all those who always ask for jewel colors that are a little more vivid and saturated…..this is perfect!

  51. Melanie- IAM4UK

    Dear Louis,
I am one of your newer addicted Linea Ladies & I bring 4 young ladies with me who love your designs. Thank you for explaining the fabrics & cuts/ shapes of your clothes, they are learning so much from you & we are excited about what will be coming in July & Fall.
I had purchased the Adobe & Navy sets A288389 the pleated pull on skirt. On the first few pages of the Nordstrom Anniversary catalog, there is one like them in a heather gray! Will this skirt return in the fall in any other colors? I hope this one doesn’t go away too fast, really enjoy wearing them!
My other question is for the WK fitted turtleneck A72448. Are more colors coming in the fall for this? I have purchased all the remaining colors you have in different sizes, I love this classic style. I wish I had known of you & your designs years ago but I am glad to have been able to purchase things this past year. Will there be any Fiesta colors in the turtlenecks?
Thank you so much for your time & the opportunity to write to you!
    Sincerely,
    Melanie

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Melanie, welcome to you and your friends. It is too soon to know if the pleated skirt will be reordered, but my sense tells me no since it is still avail in all colors and sizes the TN will be returning but not in Fiesta colors…..food for thought!

  52. Judy

Wow, when did Louis’s site become a forum for Golda? I think this is very rude to just take over someone’s site like this and post long topics that don’t even pertain to what it was intended for!

  53. Maia

This forum is titled “Ask Louis.” Can we please stick to fashion?

    1. Goldie76

      Yes, Maia.

I apologize, but I just did not want to write on the QVC Community Forum. Was hoping Barbara would see the post and get right back and it would end quickly.

I can write that my neighbor complimented my Hi-Low Tunic in aqua today.

      Whew! Back to the topic.

      1. Seka

Goldie76 – I know it was a tad off topic – but I did enjoy reading about your Ancestry.

        1. Goldie76

Thanks, Seka, I appreciate your words very much.

I wouldn’t have sought out Barbara now if Louis was in the midst of a big push of his garments and jewelry. I dared to do this simply because we have a lull at the moment.

But the Linea Ladies will be back with comments and questions, I am sure.

You see, I did receive additional insight from “vickybliss.” I was thinking “Ashkenazi” when I should have been thinking “Sephardic,” which, as I wrote, I thought would be the group with whom I most likely share a bit of my DNA. I really love that I have all these strains in me, and now I know that hundreds of years ago there was a lot of movement going on, much like today. Just think what the latest diasporas are doing to the genetic pools all over the world.

          1. 1jac

Just read your posts Goldie. A diversion from fashion to be sure, but interesting none the less. Your posts are always enjoyable and enlightening. It’s a dry period right now, I think LDO might be vacationing. What’s the harm?

            1. Fairfax

              I agree, 1Jac. Well said.

            2. Qulia

              Goldie,

I’ve always enjoyed your posts, and since I believe you are now retired, I hope you consider starting a blog. There are a lot of Linea Ladies and probably others who would enjoy reading it and discussing a variety of topics. Consider it.

              Julia

            3. Barbara in Virginia

I just now saw Goldie’s post to me. In addition to our love for Linea, many of us have discovered we have much else in common and have become friends. Yes, Goldie has swerved for a moment, but I have known her to be unfailingly kind and gracious. We have discussed ancestry before, and I appreciate her reaching out to me. No harm done IMO! Of course it is up to Louis to decide what he wants posted on his blog.

        2. Katie

I did too Goldie. I do not like rudeness though. I found that comment very distasteful.

        3. Judy

Are you kidding? A tad off topic! Ridiculous!

        4. Judy

You have got to be kidding, a tad off topic? Ridiculous!

          1. WNYGAL/APRIL

Now then, Judy, WHICH pair of leisure pants were you temporarily interrupted you from begging for that Goldie’s interesting, if off fashion topic post so diverted you from that you needed to post your outrage twice? And it’s GOLDIE, not GOLDA. As well-informed and interested in the world as those of us who know her recognize her to be from her years on the forum, she is NOT the former Prime Minister of Israel. Louis controls this site, Goldie is pretty much a friend to all & kindness itself, & it’s vacation time. Sounds like you might need one of those yourself.

  54. Goldie76

    To: Barbara from Virginia

Louis and everyone visiting this board, please excuse this very public semi-private message to Barbara, but she wrote at length about her lineage in response to a post I had made regarding an analysis of my DNA. Since I find that there are some unfriendly souls on the QVC Community Forum, I am writing to her here. I sincerely hope you don’t mind.

Many of you have an interest in your ancestry, I am sure, and you might find my experience of interest, too.

Well, I received my results, and I did have a surprise. I would not have been surprised to receive a result of 100% “Italy/Greece,” as Ancestry.com categorizes my primary heritage group, because both sides have been “Greek” nationals (or, at the least living in the region of Modern Greece for generations (or at least for several generations; we do not know much of our past, to be honest). The one thing I did know is that both my maternal grandfather and father (and their immediate forefathers) were from remote, mountainous and very difficult-to-penetrate regions of Greece. My father’s region, Mani, is renowned for its past isolation and inaccessibility.

Well, I have sifted out as 56% “Italy/Greece”; 18% Europe East; 17% West Asia (think Caucasus and Near East countries); and, the surprise, 6% European Jewish.

A maternal first cousin (male) had 10% European Jewish in his analysis, and so I am concluding I inherited those genes from my mother’s side. Trying to figure if they came by way of her father or mother, but I don’t know much yet.

I knew the back of my father’s head and that of his uncle always reminded of the back of the head of Chinese men (even though my father was fair and had crisp, Germanic features), and my body when slim has been described as Asian, so I am not too surprised by the Asia West. China is Asia East, but there is something of the true Asian look in my hair as well.

I have always had an affinity for Anatolian-sounding music, much to the consternation of my father, who was from the mainland of Greece and felt that Anatolian Greeks were not the real thing, I suppose. My husband’s family were Anatolian Greeks, so there obviously was not a real problem. But I used to play over and over again the Anatolian-sounding songs on albums rather than the mainland Greek songs found on those same albums. My father would ask, “Why do you play those songs and not “our” music?” Now I know why… I just always liked the Anatolian better; they “spoke” to me.

This has been an interesting study for me in that I better understand how humanity traveled around the globe up to a thousand years ago (Ancestry says these results trace back 1,000 years, and one rep told me that the results reflect pretty much what has occurred in the last 300 years).

Anyway, that is my understanding of my genetic makeup.

    1. Goldie76

Of the 17% Asia West, 10% is Caucasus.

    2. vickybliss

The 6% European Jewish is probably common to many Greeks (and other middle eastern people as well) because “more than 150,000 Spanish Jews fled the Spanish Inquisition, many to the Ottoman Empire.” Still today there are Jews in the middle east that speak 14th century Spanish.

      1. Goldie76

vickybliss, thank you for this information. The only thing is that Ancestry.com says that the “European Jewish” category represents Ashkenazi Jews. Weren’t the Jewish people who fled the Spanish Inquisition Sephardic Jews? To be honest, before I read Ancestry.com’s statement on “European Jewish” (below), I thought that my European Jewish was probably Sephardic. My thoughts are in line with yours.

Interestingly (at least to me) is that my first trip to Greece was out of NYC. I was travelling alone (to be met by relatives upon arrival) and chatted with my seatmates. Oddly enough, the woman’s name was Goldie and her husband was Myron (or something similar). They spoke with others on the flight, and many of the passengers seemed to know one another. Thinking my fellow passengers were all Greeks (as I knew Greeks, up to that moment), I asked if they were Greek because I was not hearing any Greek names. Goldie answered that the plane was filled with Greek Jews who originated from Thessaloniki, Greece. She then asked if I had ever heard of the Greek Jews of Thessaloniki. Unworldly, I told her that I hadn’t until that moment.

        What Ancestry.com wrote:

The story of your ethnicity lives in your DNA.

        European Jewish History
The European Jewish region is not geographically defined in the same way as most other ethnic regions. The historic dispersal of the Jewish population from its origin in the Levant on the east coast of the Mediterranean resulted in insular communities scattered throughout Europe, North Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East. Although some Jewish communities enjoyed positions of relative peace and prosperity, many more were segregated from mainstream society by law, custom and prejudice, experiencing sustained persecution and discrimination. Jewish populations from northern and eastern Europe are often known as “Ashkenazi.” “Sephardic” refers to Jews who were expelled from Spain during the Inquisition and mostly settled in North Africa and southeastern Europe.

        1. Goldie76

On second thought, I may have misread this passage from Ancestry.com. I just assumed the Eastern Europe part of my heritage was the “European Jewish” side, but I can very easily be Sephardic from my southeastern Europe side. Probably more likely, too, considering my coloring.

Thank you, vickybliss, for causing me to revisit the passage.

          1. Goldie76

The Jews of Thessaloniki (Salonica) were Sephardic. Goldie on my flight might have been a distant relative. I just read this:

The city of Salonica was once the center of Sephardi religious and cultural life, and Jewish intellectual life in general, and once boasted such cultural institutions as a Judeo-Spanish theater, press, secular literature and music. The city virtually ground to a stop on Saturday, the Jewish Shabbath. But most survivors today of Greek Sephardic descent believe that the Ashkenazim, the Jews of Eastern and Central Europe, have marginalized their suffering. They believe that their experiences have been treated as an afterthought by academics and organizations, most notably Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, Israel, and the New York-based Claims Conference. Both have cited numerous sources to prove otherwise.

The Jewish community of Salonica flourished for many centuries. As late as 1912, they were the largest ethnic group in the city. But in 1917, a great fire ravaged much of Salonica, and left the Jews fragmented and impoverished. With the advent of Greek nationalism and the resettling of Orthodox Christians in Greece in 1923, Salonica’s Jews began to feel increasingly marginalized. Before the two world wars, periodic outburts of anti-semitism occurred, such as the translation into Greek of the famed forgery, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, in 1928. Its possible that some 20,000 to 25,000 Jews left the city before World War II erupted.

        2. Goldie76

I apologize for taking up more real estate here, but I want to explain that the reason I was expecting all Greeks on my flight was that the group tour was arranged by a company that was owned by Greeks and catered to Greeks. Therefore, for that era, I was expecting the aircraft to be filled with the sort of Greeks I had known up to then.

Barbara might be away and perhaps someone should write about fashion at this point. Slow afternoon, no new Linea fashions, but I have taken too much space. Sorry!

  55. Debby

Love all the new clothing and jewelry, they are all classic and classy, but can you please bring in more knee length pencil skirts to go with all of these glorious tops, light weight for gauze, wk etc Thank you!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Debby.?..I want you to know that every season I submit sketches for pencil skirts, but none have been chosen. It’s not because I don’t believe in them or want them!

      1. Debby

So sorry to hear that! Your pencil skirts are the best , they are shaped beautifully, stretch, look elegant and wear so well- I have at least 6! Ladies who want skirts – lets help the buyers chose them by writing in and showing our support – the skirts always sell out, so I know there are lots more pencil skirt loving women are out there! Thanks again Louis!

  56. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

When are all these glorious new colors due?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

They are for Q1….which is Jan. Feb and March, don’t know yet which styles are for which months.

      1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Thanks Louis. Guess my waitlist order is pointless then. I’ll have to cool my excitement for the 3 colors of the button-front stand collar tunic and the 2 colors in the long cardigan until 2018 😊

  57. Judy

A267883 is the number of that color block cardigan

  58. Judy

Hi Louis would you consider making a solid color (like navy)of the whisper knit cardigan in the same length as the whisper knit color block cardigan from Aug of 2015 for us short people ??Please

    1. CR

I second this idea! I have and love duster length cardigans, but this length has a place in our closet, too.

  59. Anonymous

    Hi Louis,
Can you tell us what color pool is? I assume it is in the blue family.

    Pat

      1. dianeb

Louis (or anyone who knows the answer)- The color pool sounds interesting-
which design will be offered in this color? Thanks in advance.

        1. Seka

A225482 Linea Leisure S/S Tee – Waitlist Colours – Carnation Pink, Cornflower Blue & Pool.

  60. Fairfax

New colors posted on waitlist for the stand collar gauze tunic (pale lilac, navy, white), the crinkle gauze safari shirt (steel gray, rhubarb, dark olive), and the long whisper knit sweater (pale pink and navy). I hope remembered them all,but go and see. You already know about the ponte pants. I am loving these new colors. I hope we don’t have to wait too long!!

    1. Fairfax

The long whisper knit is in shell pink, not pale pink.

      1. Seka

Thanks Fairfax – I just posted a note on the Linea Forum.

Yes – The new Colours sound Fabulous!

  61. Chris/Jazzmom

Love the 3 new ombré tops! The jewel tones really look fantastic on me. I think the plum is the best!

  62. Shari

    Louis,
I apologize for asking this again. I didn’t catch your answer ,as I was gone.
Is the frosted necklace, earring sets that are shown with the Plum ombre hi low top, coming back?
By the way, I’m loving my Plum top. I’ve already worn it twice. Once when I had a performance on my harp. Worn with rhinestone jewelry and flowing very dark plum colored palazzo’s.Looked really nice next to my ebony harp

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No Shari….it was on clearance for the longest time and finally sold out. No reorders on clearance items

  63. Diamondscribe

Louis, I love the celadon ombre tunic! I’m wearing it today to cheer me up in the midst of all the gray weather we’ve been having with tropical storm Cindy. I am wearing it today with A255669, the draped v-neck cardigan you did in seafoam a few years back. This was the one in a soft knit that had tiny flecks in it. It looks great with the celadon ombre! This is one of the reasons why I love your collections. They build so many options into a gal’s wardrobe over the years. I so enjoy A255669 and regret that I only managed to get 2 colors before it sold out in my size (grey and seafoam). But, I treasure the two I have. That is a style I’d like to see return.

  64. Jackie

Oh, I forgot to mention…the plum/grape ombré top color is SPECTACULAR. Thank you so much!

  65. Jackie

Louis, I just ordered, on wait list, my first pair of the ponte pants. Did the Q say they will restock the other colors and sizes?
