    Louis,

I echo all the other Linea ladies’ sentiments.

I went to bed about 11 last night, set my alarm for 12:58, planned to watch the beginning of your show, order the items I wanted, and watch the rest later (I was recording it). But I couldn’t stop watching. I watched your whole show, went to bed and then got up at 5. Just telling you this as confirmation you have a lot of dedicated Linea ladies that were supporting you, me included. Just needed a little extra coffee this morning. 🙂

As hard as it was, you made it through – feel proud! Jac is. It was a wonderful show filled with beautiful items and sentiments. Your sincerity and devotion shined through. Such a touching show. I know many of your Linea ladies cried with you. We all feel for you. Also want to say I really thought Jayne did a fantastic job as well. She was the perfect choice as host.

It was so good to see you again, moving forward doing what you are so good at. I look forward to receiving all my items. I was able to order that beautiful celadon necklace – was glad at least one piece of new jewelry was available. Looking forward to ge next round.

    (((Hugs)))

Hi Louis. I watched your show on Qvc tonight and it was so inspiring.Jac was so proud of you. When you were speaking about the white blazer Jac helped to create I could see her with the models. This blazer absolutely looked just like her taste. It was so sophisticated and refined before you told about her designing it I thought of her modeling it.She was definitely with you helping you be the wonderful creative person you are.I am so happy you conquered and did so for her.Jane Brown did a great job and the show was so inspiring.Thank You.Jac was smiling the whole show.Keep up the hard work of recovering from your loss. Our family continues to pray for you

  3. Bobbie

    Dear Louis,
Your show tonight was simply beautiful! I could just feel Jac’s presence with all of you. She would be so proud of you! I loved the sincerity of Jane in speaking so sweetly of Jac. Her admiration for the two of you was so touching. The love and support for you from your beloved models was tangible. Like most of your Linea ladies probably felt tonight, I wanted to reach through the television and give you a hug! I thought you were very courageous and honest, and a model of strength and encouragement for us all. Every lovely piece you presented must have been inspired by Jac’s grace and beauty, because her image was indelible. I’ve always enjoyed wearing my Linea fashions and have never thought of them as mere garments. Because of the relationship the two of you have so generously and graciously welcomed with your ladies, I always considered my Linea clothing as personal gifts. They have comforted me during sad and hard times, made me feel beautiful and graceful during better times, and have always been effortless and a constant source of confidence. I just got back from a trip to New Orleans and wore only Linea, some new, some vintage, with your jewelry. Everything, as usual, packed perfectly from velvet to whisper knit to ponte knit! Men, in particular, stopped to compliment my port column of color with the long coat and whisper knit pants and sweater and copper color jewelry. My husband beamed with pride! I will accompany him to New York for a week in the spring, so everything you presented tonight will be in my bag, with his blessings. I can’t thank you enough for all that you and Jac have done. I just hope that Jac knew how much we all appreciate and admire you both. She wll always be remembered for her kindness, grace and beauty!

Dear Louis…my heart too breaks for you for the loss of your wife. How lucky she was to have you to protect her and you were lucky to have her. May God bless you during this difficult time in your life.

  5. Diana Suggs

Watched your show on PVC tonight and my heart just broke for you. I know from watching you and your precious Jacq that you loved each other very much. I am so sad for you but know that with time it does get better. God bless you!

Dearest Louis, tonight’s show was so very lovely. I was so touched by Jac’s poem, “Stopping by a woods on a snowy evening”. I used to sing that to my four boys at bedtime when they were young. She was so thoughtful to give you direction. Yes, promises to keep and miles to go. Then you will be together forever. Lots of love and sleep well tonight.

  7. Mary Simonds

    Dearest Louis,
I am from Cohasset Ma, and last April lost my husband of 32 years…he was 56 yrs old. Sudden and tragic accident..we were 24 yrs old when married and blessed with one son. I am sending you my sincerest and heartfelt condolences. The love you shared was the stuff of legend..you could see it in your eyes, and words, every time you were on Qvc. Jac was way beyond outwardly beautiful, just by looking at her you knew she was a special person, a sweet wonderful soul. Yes life goes on, and your beautiful wife wouldn’t want you to skip a beat. But trust me when I tell you, you’ll be feeling more emotions than you ever knew you could experience – all in a minute, no less.
I’m not super religious, but as a Catholic I believe and know in my heart Heaven just got one special Angel, who’ll be shining down on you and in your heart always! Peace, calm, strength and hope to you all my prayers! You too Louis are a beautiful soul, you’ll make Jac proud. Mary

  8. Elizabeth Gabber

Dear Louis, I’m watching you on QVC right now. I am so glad you are back. Once again I send you love and prayers. I believe that Jac is always with you. I think “Jac’s Blazer” may be my favorite item in this show. I have had this show on my calendar ever since you told us when you’d be back. It is such an honor to be one of your Linea Ladies. God bless you. Elizabeth Gabber, Salinas CA.

  9. Pam

I was watching you show tonight and wondered where Jac was…then thinking since you are on so late east coast time perhaps she was at the hotel. Then when you were presenting the blazer you spoke of her in a past tense, I was shocked and began to weep. I cannot tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I just lost my mother on Jan 19, 2018. I am just so, so sorry. I hope you can find comfort somewhere….perhaps in a memory or maybe just looking upon something she cherished. Just know that there are a lot of people, who you have not met, and probably never will, that care. Wishing you all the best.

  10. Nancy

Dearest Louis, I have been unable to catch you on QVC for a very long time and decided tonight to check in to your blog. I found myself in tears reading your posts and the love the two of you shared for so many, many years. You will be in my prayers for a very long time and I trust that, with time, the memory of Jac will fill the void in your heart. You truly had a modern love story to rival Romeo and Juliet. How fortunate you have been. God Bless you as recover, Louis.

    Nancy “Red”

    1. Patti in Denver

      Dear Louis:

I am so sorry..like others have beeb with you since your first days at QVC. I was a caregiver for my Mom and we watched so many shows together and lived ea and every item you brought to QVC. We lived seeing you and Jac together. I moved back with my Mom and was with her until her passing at 94.

By chance, I kept QVC on after the TSV hour and saw you with Jane before the show began. I feel your loss because I feel like Jac was a part of my love for you snd Linea. I can still remember you on Oprah doing fashion shows when you were with Anne Klein. Having you on QVC was a dream cone true. I am grateful that I turned on QVC tonight. (Watching the white “Jac” jacket right now). Without “knowing you and Jac personally” I feel I have known you both all these years. My Mom probably greeted Jac with open arms, right beside her beloved Mommy. I send you love, hugs and please know you will always be in my prayers. You are the best and I cherish you, your clothes, your design and talent and the love you and Jac shared with all of us.

  11. JBCinSD

Hi, Louis, I love your moss crepe and will buy several of the new tops. Will the moss crepe crop pants and/or the long pants be coming back?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No, JBCin SD, they have not been reordered, and there are no plans foe any additional bottoms.

  12. Suellen

Louis, lots of love and prayers from your Linea Ladies will be going with you and Aaron as you travel. We’ll all be lifting you up for the show.

  13. Anonymous

    Dear Louis,
A question about color—-would the new camp wk tunic go with the cypress pants?? Also would the patina nugget necklace go with at tunic. Think of you every day!
    Thanks,
    Karla

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Karla, what does “camp” mean? If you meant Camo Green, yes they would go together and for me the green patina works on everything, but It would also look great on the linen tunic with the cypress pant too.

      1. karlakaye

Sorry Louis—I was sitting in the doctor’s office, typing on my Iphone—yep, I meant “camo”, not “camp”!!! THANKS AS ALWAYS—sorry for the stupid typo.
        Karla

  14. Ruth

    Dear Louis,
I really appreciate seeing your previews of the clothes you’re bringing to QVC. It must be a lot of work to make this happen – steam the clothes, dress and style the mannequins, take the photographs – and I’m sure more I don’t even realize. Thank you so much for doing this. I’m sure we all appreciate it.

  15. Shari

  16. Hudson Valley Nancy

Louis just want you to know that another fan of both you and Jac will be watching you live at 1 am wishing you warm wishes, support, encouragement and much love.

  17. Nancy in TN

    Dear Louis
Your words expressing the loss of your angel Jac have touched us all. Along with these heartfelt and beautifully written posts from your friends, I am sending you wishes for your continuing strength. Your Linea family will be with you also this coming week.

  18. Barbara C.

    Dear Louis,
I have tried for the longest time to think of the perfect words, but of course, there are no perfect words. You have been so eloquent in painting a picture of Jac that shows her beauty inside and out. Thank you for allowing us to get to know her better and for sharing your love for one another. The day you wrote the letter telling us of her passing, I chose to wear the rhubarb sweater that she wore in the last picture of her modeling your clothing. Like so many of the other ladies, I wear Linea clothing often and always am reminded of Jac when I do. Jac was the epitome of elegance and I look upon her as a role model. I am hoping her Facebook page will remain open because that is the photograph album I can look back on and remember her by. Of course, it will be your decision and I will understand and respect whatever you choose to do. You are in my prayers every day and, even though it seems impossible now, you will get stronger. My precious mother died from lung cancer which is another reason I am happy to contribute to Jac’s fund at Massachusetts General Hospital. Thank you for thinking of the Linea ladies as friends; I hope our support will give you some degree of comfort.
    Barbara C.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Barbara…..I never plan to close Jac’s face book page.It would be too painful. I too visit it and reread what she wrote. I know she would be so happy to hear that she has touched so many of you in ways that simply can’t be described. She was such a giving person, and never expected anything in return. The day we took the picture of the Rhubarb sweater she was in a lot of pain, and I said, “Hon, you don’t have to do this”, but no she put on her make up, and I helped her to get dressed, and we took the pictures. She said, “I can’t disappoint my ladies. They will be expecting a post from me.” My eyes well up just thinking of that day and how difficult is was for her, but she persevered as she wants and expects me to. I just don’t know if I have her strength….It is just so lonely without her. I know she, and I are both grateful for the contribution you have made in Jac’s honor. It was very kind of you.

      1. Thank you for deciding to leave Jac’s FaceBook page up, Louis. I also return to it, both to read what Jac had written but also to see the photos. There was nothing selfish or self-serving about Jac,one of the many things we came to know and love about Jac.

      2. Melissa

I am also happy to read that you will be keeping her Facebook page open. I am sorry she was in so much pain during that photo shoot. She was dedicated to the Linea ladies as you are. It was her pic in the rhubarb cowl neck sweater that made me choose that color (also got the clove).

  19. Beryl

    Louis,
I bought a beautiful Linea jacket on e-bay. It’s cranberry red with washable suede front and back. It has a knit shawl collar, sleeves and side panels. No A ID number. Do you remember designing it? It’s a beauty.

  20. Karen In WI

Louis, your designs are so lovely and lady like and appealing to women of a wide range of ages. It’s exciting to see the new for spring. I have to say that I think your Jac would be so proud of you, trying hard to keep your promise to her. Us Linea ladies are here for you every day, and I shall be up in the wee hours of the morning for your next show, praying for God’s strength and love to surround you. My teenaged son will think I have gone a bit crazy to be up in the middle of the night, watching QVC, but it’s important! A friend needs me, I will say.

    1. louis dell'olio

Karen, you are so kind. I will need all the support and strength I can get to get through this show. I will need you all to lift me up……but mostly my Jac.

      1. marcy in l a

we’ll be there,Louis. of that you can be sure. chin up.

        1. Goldie76

        1. Shari

          Count me in as well.
Feel the love and support of all Linea ladies

  21. danielle duverglas

I was just saying to my husband, I need something special to wear for a graduation this summer. I said to him “I wish Louis would design one just for me lol” and low and behold you did! This has your angels name written all over it. It looks spectacular. You are one of the few I still watch on the Q. Designers today are not designing for mature women. You design for all of us mature women who want to look and feel special. I can’t wait to buy the white AND the black. Your Angel Jac is proud!

  22. JenniferD

Will there be new colors in the ombré tunic this spring? I Love with the blueberry and peacock yet have never been able to get one- hoping this is the year I get my hands on one!

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Jennifer, yes the ombre tunic is coming back and I know some colors have been repeater plus new ones. I can’t recall which of the original colors are coming back, but it is one of those two and possibly both, but I really don’t remember.

  23. Joanna

Dear Louis, I wonder if you can tell me if your Linea pull on ponte knit pants (regular leg opening) will be back in grey? I see them now back in black, olive and parchment, but not sure if the grey is coming back this Spring (or Fall)? They are the best pants ever. I have lovved so many of your designs – AND – they look great on me. I love your passion for design, and for your lovely Jac. I know you are bereft, but your love show through in all your designs. I, for one, am grateful.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I really need a style number, but there aren’t any grey pants that have been reordered. The only grey pant that know is avail is the smoke boot cut super Ponte pant.

      1. Sylvia

The larger sizes in A298446 Super Ponte Slim Leg Pant are available in the smoke grey? I LOVE those pants!

        1. louis dell'olio

A268216 is avail in Smoke….the Super Ponte boot cut pant

        2. Sylvia

sorry, the name of the slim leg pant is steel grey not smoke. It’s a beautiful grey.

          1. louis dell'olio

Both would work…..I believe the steel grey is darker

      2. Joanna

Style # A268216. The most perfect pant ever! Those are the ones I was referring to. I’m hoping there is a reorder for the fall if not for the spring!

  24. Gail in PA

Yesterday I was looking at my Friends list on Facebook. Jac was the only “celebrity” on it. I followed her because, even though she projected an elegant and distant persona through her modeling, her posts were warm and unassuming. She seemed approachable and fun to be with. I loved a photo of her in Halloween season in a long red wig and sort of gypsy costume. Each of us is unique but Jac was “uniquer” than most. Most days I wear Linea, reminding me of her, since I felt that you designed with her in mind. Loss of loved ones is brutal but somehow we find a way through it. They do live on through us.

    1. louis dell'olio

I am trying Gail, believe me I’m trying for Jac, because she made me promise, but each day is a new Hell for me. I just miss her so much. She was an angel inside and out……she will always be my Angel.

      1. Gail in PA

I will be watching at 1 a.m. Wednesday along with all of your supporters who will be reaching across distance to lift you up. Isn’t it something that the moon will be putting on a show at that time, too?

        1. louis dell'olio

Yes, It’s a Super blood red moon. Something that hasn’t happen since the end of the Civil War…..I shouldn’t be surprised that Jac would create a special finale for me!

  25. Michelle

Just a quick note for the Linea ladies who loved last season’s t-shirt, A225482. Great news. It’s back in stock and in some new gorgeous colors.

I have to say that watching the original presentation video was bittersweet. Jac looked gorgeous as always. She inspired me to reach for last season’s embroidered baseball jacket. I paired it today with the white sleeveless turtleneck and one of my black leather skirts. I thought of her when I received compliments on my outfit.

Louis, you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I will be watching and cheering you on next week.

    Michelle

    1. Gayle Maples

      Louis,
Thank you for sharing the beautiful picture of you and Jac. You are both so beautful! You are so blessed to have such a great love. Many people have never had that kind of love in their lives. I know that makes it even harder to be apart.

I pray for you that you will be comforted and soon the pain will not be so intense. May you find the peace that I know Jac would want you to have. May the memories of your beautiful Jac remain strong until you are together again.
      Gayle

    2. luvitorleaveit

Wonderful I will add the pool and cornflower blue colors. Thanks for the update.

    3. pamela

Wow Michelle I was thinking the same when I watched the cardigan video this morning. Such sweet sorrow. I might add , however …P.S. LOUIS, mighty handsome yourself there!!! Cant wait for new things. LOVE AND PRAYERS ALWAYS, Pamela in the sunny south.

  26. MadameDuFiffers

    Hi Louis,
I just saw that the fish pendant is back. The Q has a “silvertone” listed, but no picture. Do you know if this is the shiny silver? I don’t want a brushed or antiqued silver. I’ve been waiting so long for this to return! I’m going to put it on a checkhold and await your response. Thanks in advance!
    ~Madame

    1. louis dell'olio

      it’s shiny

      1. MadameDuFiffers

Thank you so much! It’s on its way, and I’m super excited!

I so enjoy reading your stories. Putting your thoughts in words can be comforting

for you. And, your fans enjoy reading them.

You know when they are there. You just know its them.Continue to reach out to all of your friends and fans.our family is praying very hard for you.Sincerely Lauren Denfeld

    1. Rhonda

I am truly sorry for the loss of your wife. I have bought several of your designs over the past five years that have served me well. I want to encourage you and I have prayed for you. My husband is a Pastor and college Professor. He lost his first wife to cancer about 15 years ago. She found out in February that she had melanoma and died in September with proactive treatments out of town and state. My husband has counseled many over the past few years over loss. He said many days the first year is shock. He said healing came through much prayer and scripture reading. Also CS lewis wrote a book called “A Grief Observed”, its about the loss of his wife. This book really helped my husband and he recommends it to others. There is also a movie about CS Lewis loosing his wife called “Shadow Lands” that you might enjoy. Grief is very difficult but I pray that God will bring you through in His strength. You are a talented man and have much to give.

      1. Goldie76

        Rhonda,

When I lost my dear husband, I found C. S. Lewis’s “A Grief Observed” the most comforting of all the books I read on the subject of grief.

Oddly enough, I recommended the book to Louis several weeks ago, using a more private communication mode. Now that two sources (particularly your husband) have recommended the book, I hope Louis goes forward and reads it.

Even “dipping into” the book would help.

How much I remember that C. S. Lewis helped guide my grief-stricken thoughts during that deeply painful time.

        1. Ruth

C.S. Lewis had so many helpful insights.
“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”
          C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves

        2. rae smith

          Goldie76,
The C.S. Lewis book was also sent to me when I lost my dear husband. I read it then, but his loss was so new, it was difficult for me to get through. I plan to reread it again, in hopes it will provide new insight as I am still struggling with grief and loss after a few years. Blessings to all.

          rae smith

  29. Yoko

Now, Each day in honor of you and Jac I wear one piece of Linea. Sometimes it is one of your scarves another day, all Linea. I wear these items to keep you close to my heart. We love you & Jac, always.

    1. louis dell'olio

Yoko, your made my cry….that is such love for my Jac.

  30. Betsy

    Louis,
Thank you for sharing your lovely Jac with all of your Linea ladies. She was an extraordinarily special woman and much loved by all of us. So very sorry for your loss. Your beautiful posts reminded me of a favorite W.H. Auden poem — to paraphrase

Jac was your North, your South, your East and West,
Your working week and your Sunday rest,
    Your noon, your midnight, your talk, your song;

I hope that time grants you some peace. Be well. Betsy

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Betsy…..Auden had it so right….Jac was….and is my everything.

  31. Cheri

Dear Louis, Thank you for sharing Jac’s life before you and after you began
Your lives together. What beautiful memories. You two were so blessed
With a love that continues even after one passes. The transistion from two
To one is one of the most difficult things we have to go thru. I have found
That as I still mourn my son even after 9years that when I get quiet and
Open my heart I hear my son talk to me or I see a sign that I know is from
Him. The pain of loss does ease but never goes away. As I pray for you
For comfort, peace and strength I also pray that Jac sends you signs in your
Deepest moments of grief to let you know she is still with you. Watch your
furbabies as I believe they see and sense what we do not. Just know that
I join with the other linea ladies praying for you. Cheri

  32. Sharon L

Today’s NY Times Health section has a column by Jane Brody on grief. In this difficult time you may get some measure of comfort in it. God bless.

  33. Donna Aflague

    Dear Louis,
Thank you for sharing pictures and stories about Jac. It is easy to understand why you fell in love with her. I recently watched an interview of you and Jac conducted by Lisa Robertson. I have rarely seen Jac speak as she was normally modeling. In the interview, Jac talks about how the two of you first met and the interview reveals her charming personality. Jac is even more lovely when animated. How fortunate to have moments such as this immortalized.
    Sending love and support,
    Donna from California

  34. Debra

    Dear Louis,
Thank you for sharing your loving stories and memories of the love of your life.
Not only is it painful to be unable to share every event with the person who was the first to call and always your cheering squad, but expressing the pain, hurt, anger, and loss.

The world does not know all that you have lost or what remarkable things Jac did until you share them. You keep her alive in these efforts to expand her experiences in life and death to others.

    Thinking of you,
    Debra

  35. Kathy/Wis

    Dear Louis
I just finished reading your latest post “Jac”. Thanks for sharing this with us. Watching the two of you for eighteen years, we could always see what very special people you are. My thoughts and prayers are with you and know to when you do your next show Jac will be there to help see you through.

  36. Nancy S

I join everyone else with my deep and sincere sorrow at the pain you are experiencing from the loss of your “other half” Jac. I saw this poem today and thought of you. I hope this gives you some peace and joy, however temporary. Please know how much you’re in the hearts and prayers of all of your “Ladies.” “As I Sit In Heaven”. As I sit in heaven and watch you everyday, I try to let you know with signs, I never went away. I hear you when you’re laughing and watch you as you sleep. I even place my arms around you to calm you as you weep. I see you wish the days away, begging to have me home. So I try to send you signs so you know you’re not alone. Don’t feel guilty that you have Life that was denied to me. Heaven is truly beautiful….just you wait and see. So live your life, laugh again, enjoy yourself, be free. Then I know, with every breath you take, you’ll be taking one for me……SHARE.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Nancy….that you for the beautiful poem. I hope her arms are around me every time I weep. Every morning we gave each other a big long hug to start the day. I miss those hugs very much.

  37. Latissa

Hello Louis, my thoughts and prayers are with you .
I look forward to seeing you back on the Q.

  38. Chrystene

    Dear Louis –

You are such a kind and caring man. In all your grief you ask to pray for my husband. We live in Texas and love our doctors. We in God’s hands and theirs. His name is Walt. The most vital and robust man I have ever known. He was a Navy pilot for 7 years during the Vietnam war. An Airline pilot for 30 years. The best Dad and Granddad ever. Thank you for your caring thoughts.

    1. Karen in WI

We will pray for Walt too. My teenage son, who is dealing with some health issues wants to be a pilot. Hugs and love from a fellow Linea lady.

  39. Irene

    Louis,

Be Assured of our prayers for you.

  40. chei

Louis, I know how hard this day will be for you so I just wanted to let you know I am praying for God to give you comfort and some peace and strength for this day and all of the days to come. Cheri

  41. Sylvia

Louis, The only thing we can do for you is listen and pray. I saw that Mimi is wanting to make a donation for Jac, and Jac’s mother. I would like to do that also. Is there a favorite charity or a cause dear to Jac’s heart, that we could donate to in honor of her?

    1. Sylvia

I am re reading my message, and I just want to add, that I feel so badly that I can’t do anything else but listen? And pray for you? I want to do something to honor Jac. In memory of her beautiful life and love.

  42. Terri (TexasMom1)

    Louis:
Saying prayers this morning for you that you have a good day and easing of your sorrow. May the Lord give you strength and a lift in your spirits. Sending you a hug and a kiss!

  43. Cynthia

Dear Louis, I wish I had magic words of comfort to make it all better but sadly I don’t. I have walked your path twice now and know what you are going through. When I need him I can feel my husbands presence with me. When I need his advice I can close my eyes and look in my heart and know what his answer would be. Your Jac will always be with you too. Her love for you is in your heart always.

I will be watching and sending good thoughts and strength on the 31st to you.

  44. Carolyn Muse

    Dear Louis,

Thank you for your beautiful post today. I check in everyday to see how you are doing. I just want you to know that your Dear, dear friends are praying for you everyday. I am thankful that you have family, friends and your dear Jac to support and lift you up. I will continue to pray for you everyday.

  45. Chrystene

    Dear Louis –

I am so sad for your loss of lovely Jac. I hope being in your lovely home with all her things around you gives you some solace. The fact that you say you always called your home “our separate peace” is so touching. I hope you will feel that when you are at home. It has taken me awhile to write this condolence. About the same time you lost your wonderful partner my husband of 50 years was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. I have barely even been able to speak to dear friends. I know we are in for a fight over the next months. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. All of us ladies are feeling your pain. Take care of yourself.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Chrystene….I can’t begin to tell you had your news saddens me. It’s just all too much I hope you are feeling secure with your doctors. I don’t know where you live, but I can tell you Boston Mass General is one of the leading if not the best hospitals for lung cancer. Jac’s sister has survived 10 1/2 years with lung cancer and her scans have been clear. Unfortunately Jac had a different type, Ross1, and she wasn’t as lucky as her sister. I will be praying for your husband. If it’s alright with you I would like to know his first name so I can pray for him.

  46. JBCinSD

    Dear Louis,

    Thank you for today’s post.

I used to bemoan the long lead times from creation to airing of your clothing, but I see how healing it likely will be to get you back to those who love and support you, both at QVC and in your audience.

I have to think that the last few appearances have been difficult as well. Jac wasn’t with you, you knew that she might not model again, you were worried about the outcome—and yet you braved through hours of presentations. I am sure that you will do it again. Just accept the love of Kate and so many others and share your beautiful designs with us. Know that the same Linea ladies who have sent you messages are watching and sending the same support right through to you on the 31st and in the months ahead.

What a lovely story of Jac and her sister. Their mother must have been quite a lady to have kept the family so close. How wonderful that you and Jac gave her a loving home for her last years.

I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks, even if it is only on air.

  47. Joan Sawicki

    Louis
So very sorry to hear about Jac. She was truly a gem and I know that your loss is enormous. The words that come to mind when I hear of such troubles is biblical: “Be still and know that I am God!” In the stillness you will find peace and strength and guidance for He has a plan for you until you are reunited with Jac in Heaven.
Thank you (and Jac) for using your talent to make us all feel beautiful. I have learned so much about fashion listening to you and hearing your stories about your career. You are an American treasure!

  48. Joyce Adams

Louis, thank you for this latest post. How wonderful that Jac left her sister such a loving message. And – special thanks to Kate, the model, another of your “ladies” – for welcoming you and your favorite girls into her home to share memories of Jac and offer you comfort. I always loved Kate, and now even more so. Will be anxiously waiting for January 31st. You and Jac remain in my prayers.

  49. Stephanie Ross

Bless your heart, Louis. Celebrate your marriage every day to help the healing. You know that you have many people praying for and supporting you, both here and in heaven. You are loved.

  50. Pamela DiMarino

Dear Louis, Thank you for today’s sharing, January 11th. God does indeed work in mysterious ways. You remain in our thoughts and prayers, and we too lift you up.
    Blessings, and hugs,
    Pam

  51. Emarie Agnello

Dear Louis: Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your beautiful Jac. We have just learned the news, and will be praying for you and your family. Rest assured she is with the Lord, as you will be one day. Jesus said he prepared a place for us, those of us who believe in Him. You will have eternal life with her again in a place without pain, disease, or any distress. Keep on creating – do it not those of us who adore you and your designs, but do it because Jac would want you to. Do it all in her memory because it was she who glamorized your work and brought out the best in you! May God be with you and your family at this time.

    Sincerely,

    Emarie Agnello

As we all grieve for the loss of Jac, we find ourselves returning to this site each day. We all have our own stories, but we all share your sorrow. This is becoming our journal with you, Louis. It hasn’t been a month since she left us. As time progresses,, there will be positive changes that will be chronicled here. I want to keep reading the posts as I find comfort from these beautiful thoughts .
As for Social Security, I was pleased by them clarifying it in person , in my case – but they can bring up your whole earnings life with a few computer strokes!

  53. Claudia

    Dear Louis,
I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your beautiful wife Jac. Although I only knew Jac from watching her on QVC it was easy to see why you loved her so much. Her love of you, her kindness and quiet and mild spirit was always there. I pray your wonderful memories of her will give you comfort until the two of you meet again. In the meantime, my thoughts and prayers are with you and I will cherish the memories that I have received from you both.

  54. Sonja

    Dearest dearest Louis,
I learned of beloved Jac’s passing this morning. I am heartbroken beyond words. She is eternal – the most beautiful soul. Her light, her spirit is love. I don’t think her heart has room for anything but love. Although it’s been several years now since I left QVC, I continue to cherish the memories (the love and laughter) created there – I hold you and Jac always close to my heart. I love you both. Sonja

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Sonja…..it’s so wonderful of you to reach out to me after all this time. I think of you with love in my heart too, and remember all the laughter we shared. We had some good times together and I will always remember them……I miss you and hope you are doing well….God bless

  55. queendiva

    Hello Louis,
Just checking in here daily as so many of your dear friends do to say that you continue in our thoughts and prayers. Know that you do not grieve alone. Reach out here and to the people in your personal life as often as you can. You are not on this difficult journey alone. Reach out for support and strength and do take care of yourself as best you can.
Many people are here for you. Please know that.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear queendiva…..I am trying to do just that. Keeping busy isn’t my problem…..The vultures are at the gate……everyday I get letters and papers to be filled out….10 in one day from Social Security. I finally had to call them to set up an apt. My brother is coming with me because I really don’t understand what to do. and they all use such jargon like we are supposed to know what they are talking about!!! Today Angela and Chantal are coming to visit me. I am looking forward to seeing them….it’s been a long time, but just the idea of seeing them has started me crying. Jac and I bought all the models I use all the time Christmas gifts….so I will give them their gifts today, but I’m asking them to do me a favor by giving the other models their presents. I just can’t play Santa this year. I hope when I see them I can keep my composure, but I know that’s not going to happen…..

      1. Goldie76

        Dearest Louis,

You are such a dear man, and Jac was such a sweet soul. Sheer kindness and goodness blended into one. Of course you are feeling off-balance and sad. Your other half has left this world but you remain behind. What an exquisite couple/team you two were. There is no denying this.

Be strong in the memory of your love and know that Jac is “assisting” you; she is with you as you continue your allotted years on Earth. Try never to forget this.

Thinking of you and continue to cry because of the painful loss of Jac.

        Maria (Goldie76)

        1. Goldie76

To be clear, I am still crying over Jac’s loss — I am not wishing that you continue to cry.

  56. Laurie

“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love.” Washington Irving

That book is a precious, limitless gift from your dear Jac to her dear Louis. I tend to turn to words and quotes to help me in my sorrow. As you wrote of the swans, I envisioned them effortlessly gliding by, sure in the knowledge that your saw them.

You’ve long been my favorite designer; everything I purchase become my favorites. I’m sorry for your grief. How eloquently you have shared your heart.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Laurie, the quote you shared is beautiful. I will never think about my many tears in the same way again. Thank you, Louis

  57. Debbie M.

    Dear Louis,

I just wanted to check in to ask how you are doing? I have been worrying about you. Just wanted you to know you are loved.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Debbie….thank you for asking……I have to say…..not too well……what can I say…..I just feel shattered, very lonely and overwhelmed…..I just miss Jac so much.

      1. Debbie M.

Louis, I am sending you a big bear hug! If you ever want to get out of the house, I am not to far from you and would be happy to take you to lunch. Big hugs from across the Sound!

  58. Diana Armold

Just sending a note of sympathy, having just learned of the loss of your beautiful wife. There are no words that make loss and grieving easier. Just letting you know your QVC customers care.

  59. Donna Aflague

    Dear Louis,
It seems that Jac is encouraging you to move forward with life. Signs from her (such as the swans) meant to comfort you, the book with passages earmarked for you to read… all gestures of love and support from your very special wife.

Please know that we are thinking of you and sending you love and good wishes. Hugs for your fur babies as well.
    Donna from California

  60. Nancy

My whole heart goes out to you! God did not create us to be alone, so please reach out to your friends and accept invitations when you would rather not. After my mom died, my personal strategy to deal with sadness was to go about my day and smile brightly at everyone I came in contact with. The smiles I got in return were warm and comforting.

  61. Linda in Ca

Thank you for another moving message. I am glad you were able to open the book, what a powerful passage. Louis, you will , in time, find the words, the where and the how because Jac wants you to and she is helping you. What a very wise and special lady. Take good care of yourself. Sending prayers, love and hugs.

  62. Belle_Femme

Louis, I just learned of Jac’s passing. Your posts were beautiful and touched my heart. I am so very sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Belle

  63. Mimi

Louis, If you say it is alright with you, I would also like to make a donation in honor of Jac’s Mother, if you would give me her name.

  64. Mimi

Dear Louis, Thanks for letting us in on one of your private and loving moments. Jac and her mother obviously, both had a huge capacity to love and more important, to show and give that love. I must have read that note, at least 5 or 6 times. I don’t know how to respond! It is soo deep and soo moving! I dare to say this but you have much of Jac to have and to hold, always. Not only in your heart. In that sense, you are truly blessed. I had mentioned in my original post (I don’t know if you saw it) that I would like to make a donation in Jac’s honor, to her favorite charity, if you are ok with that. I hope you are taking care of yourself. Be kind to yourself! Jac would have wanted that. Cuddle up with the girls and stay warm. Closing with a hug!

  65. JBCinSD

Thanks for writing about Jac’s book of grieving and the notes. You and Jac have a personal story line together and another story line as well.

The passion that first brought you together, I am assuming, is a love of fashion, of beautiful women’s clothing. That story line continues as you look forward. I cannot imagine that Jac would not want you to do what you have done so successfully so many decades. We all feel best when we use our gifts and she would surely want that for you.

You have sometimes said on air that Jac didn’t necessarily like each piece you designed. As you design new clothing, I suspect that you’ll know just which ones she would like best, how she would wear them, how she would look in them.

As someone who does not look like the model Jac, I am grateful that you design for all of us.
