This is for cARY who was looking for A233187 asymmetric tunic in white size XL and needed it before May 1. One tunic in white in size XL popped up as available this morning (4/21)! Hope you get it.

  2. Hi Louis!

I am also getting your yellow denim jacket that has been on waitlist, but wondered if you would do this same jacket in black. I have so many blue denim jean jackets and a few black denim jackets, but they have sparkle on them and sometimes I just want a simple classic good looking jacket and this one A232350 would be perfect! Thanks for hopefully considering it.

  3. Kate

LDO, rumor has it you’re talking jewelry on Monday. May I make a few requests for consideration?

I need shorter, smaller pearls in lots of colors; some sparkly evening earrings to go with my fabulous “diamond” watch; and more solid gold-tone pieces like chains to layer with your pearls.

Just a few thoughts in case there’s a lull in the conversation!

    1. Kate

Oh, and maybe something “nautical” for next summer?

      1. Debbie Macy

I would love some fun pieces in the WK colors. Summer and fall colors.

      2. Louis Dell'Olio

What does that mean??? Red /white and blue, stripes, anchors?????

        1. Kate

Anchors! Stripes! I remembered someone posted a tote bag you did that had a nautical theme (and I think you
did a sweater too?) and I’ve been obsessed ever since. since we can’t have scarves, I thought maybe a few pieces of jewelry. I once had a pair of Anne Klein earrings that were navy enamel with gold anchors and a rope border. Very subtle nod to nautical.

What got me thinking about summery jewelry is the difficulty of finding good quality white jewelry like your new white/gold watch. It’s all either kind of junky, too small, or over-priced like the pieces from Kate Spade.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

E bay is selling one right now for over $400. It would be impossible to make now for under $300 to $400. The mold costs today would be in
the thousands and the quantities would be astronomical. Those original pieces were made in RI. Those factories don’t exist anymore.

            2. Kate

Such a shame. I do love the idea of sea glass. Oh well, whatever you bring I will love.

    2. Celia

I’m wishing for a reinvention of the curb chain link necklace in gold tone!

      1. Goldie76

Count me in on this one, too! How about another gold ball necklace while we’re resurrecting nonpareil classics.

        1. Susana aka Suzzeee

I’d live that ball necklace in silver!!

          1. nikki

I would love to get the black and gold bead necklace. it was stunning and we always need something black and gold to go with our black outfits. Please consider bringing it back. It sold quickly and I never was able to get a return.

            1. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

I would like a gunmetal watch with no nickel, preferably a little Skagen-ish (modern) style. If you add crystals to the jewelry, I prefer them to be tiny (looks more real). I second the idea of a matching earring for our crystal watches. I also would like more goldtone chains. Those first pieces were amazing! I love my gold ball necklace and would love it in other metallic colors, but I think we’ve already begged for this. I love enamel jewelry of any kind, and second the idea of something nautical. Also, I would like to see what you do with a leather band watch. I have my eye out for navy leather with goldtone. (Our navy blazers have goldtone buttons.) Lastly – red anything, especially your lovely Linea red (think last year’s spring blazer with the gold tone buttons.)

            2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Susan, just so you know, none of my watches have nickel in them. Noted all of your comments.

            3. Goldie76

Navy leather band with goldtone. Hmmmm….

        2. Carol

And make it in silver, too!

    Hello Louis,
I loved your shows and am waiting for my new items. I loved how the floral print dresses looked on the ladies. Can you please make some more in the same style, with different patterns for us sometime in the near future. I see it being as popular as your bohos. Its a very girly dress, and it looked fantastic. THankyou for all you do, it truely was a wonderful show.

    1. Anonymous

Also, i hope you have some more items coming in the peony and olive combination. It is stunning. I also loved that color red. Please … use those colors for other items. thanks

      1. Debbie Macy

That print would make a great boho!

        1. Debbie E

I agree Debbie. The boho in this and other patterns would be great.

  5. Andrea

I live in Cambridge MA and was glued to my TV yesterday watching the Marathon chase.
Of course I’m grateful re the ending, but now that the tension is over I realized I found out the short purple boho is sold out.I have the purple embroidered linen top that was LQ and thought it would make a special outfit. I am 5’2″ and love the black one. Do you think it will be reordered?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Andrea, we are so sorry for the tragedy that has taken place in Mass……..unfortunately it is too early to know if the skirt will be reordered, or if so, which colors. That is totally up to the buyers.

      1. Andrea

Short bohos are now available in many sizes. I got the purple in S. Now to figure out what to wear with it. I have a small waist and don’t have the right colored belt.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Andrea……I like the purple, with many of the new Whisper Knit colors…..hot pink, lime and aqua all look great with the purple. If you wear gold or silver accessories you can wear a matching belt, but a belt isn’t necessary. E bay has lots of metallic belts if you are interested

          1. Andrea

I had intended to wear it with hot pink; my favorite color. I think I can find it in my closet. But because I didn’t know I’d get the purple I missed out on the aqua, lime and hot pink. Ironically, these are my three favorite summer colors and very flattering on me. Do you know if any of the short sleeve v or scoop neck will be offered again this season? Will you be offering any cotton blend t’s in May?
I have been collecting your embroidered summer linen jackets for years; it might be able to find tanks to wear under the jackets. I’m a sucker for your embroidery; I love anything ethnic.
I know a belt isn’t necessary, but I have a small waist, am petite, and look best with a belted waist. I have a collection of belts but of course, it’s never the right one.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Andrea…………are all of the short sleeve V-neck and scoop neck Whisper knit sweaters sold out in your size? I don’t think so, and they are in the lime, hot pink and aqua. I will be bringing back the cotton/span short sleeve scoop neck T with the metallic piping in Black/Gunmetal, Ivory/Gold….navy/Gold and Espresso/Gold. It should be ready for purchasing soon if not already. E-bay always has a silver and gold simple belt, about 1 inch in real leather that I have purchased for the shows.

  6. Beano

The gauzy shrugs and dresses are fabulous for me. May I say that I am probably in the minority but I don’t wear prints,or sleeveless dresses. Although the shrugs may help. I also don’t like 3/4 sleeved jackets when your functioning buttons are so elegant.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Beano…….so nice to hear from you. I certainly realize not everything I design is for everyone. If you bought every piece, your house would be one big closet….LOL

      1. Debbie Macy

        oh oh!

      2. Kate

I didn’t realize you’d been to my house!

        1. Claudia

          Or mine!

    2. Kate

Wearing my new shrug (black) right now and LDO, you totally knocked this one out of the park. So chic, I can’t stand myself.

        1. Kate

The new gauze. Right now wearing black over a skinny t and skinny jeans. Tonight will wear the ivory with a LBD. It’s gorgeous.

  7. Maria (Goldie 76)

    Dear Louis,

Another fabulous show last night! There have been so many new and wonderful developments for Linea lately. Bravo!

Question: Did you ever advise against pairing the “Asymmetric Hem Button Front Tunic” (A233187) with the “Asymmetric Hem Dress” (A233185)? For some reason, I have a faint memory of something you wrote about the two together. Please let me know if they would present too much material toward the bottom of the dress. Also, would going up a size in the tunic be a bad decision? The next larger size was the only one available.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Maria, I do think you could get the top one size larger, but that is it. The top is supposed to be easy and breezy….to be worn open with some kind of tank or closed like a big shirt, so for me, it would look just find. As for wearing the shirt and the dress together….for most it would be too much to carry…….for others with the right attitude and carriage it can work, but I think you would really have to know how to “work” clothes.

      1. Maria (Goldie 76)

Thank you, Louis. Perhaps this item will be a re-order someday. The reviews are nothing less than ecstatic for the tunic top. You are having phenomenal luck with your light and airy pieces this year! The universe is telling you something. But your jackets are dynamite, too. All I can write is that you have made many of us ladies extremely happy with your designs.

  8. Kate

Will you be showing the lace embroidered sweaters with the new lace dress? Love to see how you style them. I know we’re all curious about the feather knit cowl top you sneak peeked yesterday and while its likely buried in here somewhere, can you tell me the colors?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I will not be showing the lace emb. Sweater tomorrow morning, ( I like it worn with just the top button buttoned over the dress but, I will be sneak peeking the new black lace jacket with the bamboo lace dress..the new Feather Jersey, sleeveless cowl top will come in hemp, navy, flamingo and aqua…..I can’t remember if there is a fifth color or not. Unlike the WK, the Feather Jersey styles will not come in every color. There will be three different style bottoms, a pull-on pencil skirt (lined)’ a maxi skirt (half lined), and another style pant, which I showed last night in smoke grey and hemp. There will also be an asymmetrical hem cardigan in the same colors as the cowl top. Then there will be five other tops besides the cowl and the cardigan…….tunics, T shirt etc. it’s a wardrobe unto itself….if you love the fabric you will love the pieces. I will say the models , who hadn’t seen a piece before LOVED the pieces they saw.

  9. Kate C.

    Hello, Louis-
Are the smoke gray Feather Jersey pants you “sneaked” last night during the jacket presentation the same style as the wide legged pants (A233191) or an upcoming style?
Thanks so much, and it was really a wonderful show!
    Kate

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kate , they are a different style. They are still a pull on pant, but there are two pleats on each side and a full elastic waist. The Feather Jersey pant that is avail now comes in the walnut, berry and olive. These colors will not be avail in the other style Feather Jersey pant. The new pant will be avail some time in May.

  10. Jean

Louis, I appreciate that you try to give us a glimpse of the on-line-only items on the models when other items are featured. So I was watching last night for the wide leg pants A233191, especially during the jacket items, but I didn’t see any of those pants. I did see the matching walnut tunic top A233190 shown with the leggings.

Will the pants A233191 be shown tonight (Lisa Robinson Show) with a viewing of the ponte peplum blazer or another item Saturday morning (AM Style)? Thank you.

    1. Seka

      Jean,

If you watch the Video for item A233188 (Ikat Top) you will see item A233191 in Olive and Berry.

      Hope this helps.

      Seka.

      1. Jean

Thank you, Seka. I did watch that video, and it was very helpful to see Kate move in the olive pants. Different style for me, and I wanted to see it.

Thank you, Louis, for the sizing info. You may not be on the LRS this evening, but QVC is showing a home page link that your blazer will be.
        http://www.qvc.com/LisaRobertsonShow.content.html?metaeSpot=Home|Home

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Jean,
I am not on the Lisa Robertson show this evening, and tomorrow I am showing the lace dress, so there will be no possibility of showing the pant. I can only say that they are very special pants in a very special fabric. I have read that some who received the pant thought they ran big and to size down one. I can only say that my xs samples fit as I wanted them, but it would not hurt to order one size down if you are in between sizes or slight.

  11. Martha Smith

    Louis,

Love you clothes and have many items. I was watching your show on QVC on April 18 and you showed the most BEAUTIFUL jewelry. Very long full beaded necklace and another larger bead very large full colorful necklace. You said they were available on QVC.COM. I immediately went to QVC.COM and they were not there. The only thing posted were very small jewelry items. I sent an email to QVC and they could not or would not help and said my message was too late. As I sent the email during the show that didn’t make sense.

Please let me know how I can purchase the beautiful items that are used on your show that you say are available on QVC.COM.

Thank you and thanks for all the beautiful well detailed clothing.

    A loyal customer.

    1. Karen in WA

      Ditto from here.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Martha , from your description , I ‘m not sure which necklace you are referring to. First you can never go by the QVC pictures…..everything looks dinky. Perhaps one of the necklaces you were referring to is the hammered link and multi bead necklace. Deanna was wearing “them” with the walnut tunic and white legging at the end of the show, just before the peplum jacket. Deanna was wearing three of the brass necklaces. If you could tell me what outfit they were wearing, I could tell you the jewelry.

  12. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

Louis – Love the line up this week! If by chance you catch this while you’re still in PA, is there any chance you can give the Q a nudge to get the new videos posted online? Many of the videos of the new pieces are missing, and some of the reorder pieces are up with older videos. We love to refer to these videos for styling ideas, especially those of us that are challenged in the creativity department!
Was there some kind of technical difficulty in the video department??

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I’ll ask, but no promises. That’s a department I know very little about.

  13. Dee

Hi Louis, loved the show! I would like to order the floral dress but I need your help with the sizing. I can range from a xs to med in your tops, of course WK stretches so I can wear smaller size. I assume this material doesnt stretch, except at elastic, do I want this loose or fitted at top, I have small hips and bigger bust. Did the models comment on sizing? What do you think? thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Dee that’s a big range! All the models were wearing their regular sizes , xxs. I will say that they pulled an XL for Maria and she wears a L. The dress was definitely big so I would say a small should be fine….not bigger.

      1. Dee

thank you Louis, I’ll try it!

  14. mary

    Dear oh Dear Louis!!!!!

I am so upset! I watched the show tonight and everything went sooooooooooooo fast!! I was interested in the shrug, the cropped leggings and the asymmetric dress!!! May I ask if you are going to have the dress and the leggings back this season??? I can’t live without the white leggings. Please say yes!!!!!

    Very sad Linea shopper!!!!
    Mary

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Mary, I hate to disappoint , but these were final quantities for the year, and if they get reordered, they won’t be back until next year

    2. Kate

Girl, you gotta stalk the Q. Things will pop up over the next few days. Betting you’ll get what you want if you keep looking.

      1. Anonymous

        Thank you, Kate…..good idea!!!!

  15. Cela

OMG, Louis, great show. You know what I never knew, is that the cross necklace is polished finished. Looking at the Linea site, it looks matte. But tonight I saw it on the Live Stream on my computer, just to see the difference in the clothing colors, and I saw it on the model, it was high polish. HA.
Did tons of damage, can’t even list, those floral dresses looked awesome as I knew they would!! CIAO.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cela…..the cross necklace is not avail in the shiny finish. It was a single sample. The actual color is the matte gold.

  16. Hi Louis!

Just wanted to say that I got your white denim jacket, which was on waitlist and absolutely love it. Then about 2 weeks ago, I was fortunately enought to get a kind of pink/lilac floral jacket that was on clearance and it is just beautiful. Needless to say, I love pink and remember you saying that a pink blazer or jacket was coming in May and wanted to be sure not to miss it. Do you know about when it might be shown? Can’t wait!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  17. cARY

HI Louis, I will like to know if you are going to have item A233187 asymetric tunic in white size XL, I need it before May 1th, I recorded your progran the day that was aired, by the time I came home and watched it was sold out.I tried many times with QVC and they don’t even have waiting list for it. Please advise. Thanks

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear cARY, unfortunately the shirt is sold out and if it is reordered it won’t be back until next year. Since they are not taking any more wait list on this shirt. your chances of getting it aren’t very good…….sorry to disappoint.

    2. Jane

      cARY,

You should check QVC.com several times a day. A few of these have popped up today (4/19) so you may luck out.

      Jane

  18. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Louis, last October – right around the time of the Hurricane Sandy debacle – you did a sneak peek here of the OLO whisper knit pieces in Ivory and Walnut and Fuchsia. Now that I have a core collection of the March/April 2013 WK pieces – I am wondering if those colors – particularly the Walnut and the Ivory – will ever be reordered? I would LOVE to add those to my mix and match options. Thoughts?

    1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Darn, I always forget to ask ALL of my questions. Sorry. The other question is, now that some of the OLO WK items are already on waitlist in some sizes and colors – are there plans to reorder or is our only recourse to hope for waitlist to pan out?

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy……it’s the same routine for all the new OLO programs…..they go through the same process as any other garment. 3 month waiting period to see sell through for all sizes and colors, and RETURNS……. and then the decision is made to reorder or not. They could never reorder just one color due to minimums……As of now your only hope is wait list.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

I will have a whole group of OLO Knits for fall, and those colors are included….don’t remember which styles.

      1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Now THAT’s good news! 3 months is a generous amount of time to catch up on the whisper knits you didn’t pick up on the first go round, assuming they are not already in waitlist status. It’s really hard for me to imagine anybody actually returning these pieces though, they are so lush.

By the way, my size was sold out in the purple (olive) Ikat skirt so I sized up and took out a stretch of elastic on the waist and I’ll be wearing it very soon in Germany 😉 Turned out just fine.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Nancy you may have misunderstood. At the end of 3 months after all is calculated….the decision is made if it is a reorder candidate…..if the answer is yes….then it takes another 4 to 5 months to produce…..in other words next year.

          1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Thanks Louis. I’ve got it now 😉

  19. Cela

Lovely. Okay maybe I’m the only one out on a limb with you (I hope it holds us both) but I’m good for the gorgeous floral dresses, since where I live, almost all of life takes place outdoors. We joyfully flaunt fem fatale dresses like this one in the summer. And, the LBD with the cute “cell phone” pockets is Le Must. See you at 8 PM (PDT). CIAO.

    1. Cela

That would be Femme, wouldn’t it? 🙂
Have better luck with your show than I have with my spelling!

    2. Kate

I’ll be out there with you! I think this dress is so on-trend and just so chic. I hate twee little Liberty florals so this one speaks to me. Plan on two colors.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Welcome out on the limb! It sees everything is posted on the Linea new arrivals….except for this dress. Some are speculating it will be an OTO. Honestly, I haven’t heard it would be, but it does kind of make sense. By 11pm if Susan’s dress has sold out, and even if it hasn’t this floral dress would make the perfect OTO.

  20. Judy Ann

    Louis,
So looking forward to your coming shows. Do you only have your show at 11 pm on the 18th and AM Style on Saturday with Leah?

Can you give us a list of what will be presented when?

Thanks for all you do for us.
    Judy Ann

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I will also be on Friday with Jane and Pat…..the lace dress will be on Sat with the shrug, which will be on Sat and Friday night. Everything else is on Friday. Some reorders on Friday.

  21. Nancy

Hi Louis, I’m looking forward to your show tomorrow and enjoying all of my new purchases – perfect for our California weather right now. I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my gold wave necklace. I wear it constantly because it works with so much of my Linea wardrobe and I ALWAYS get compliments and questions about it. I use the matching earrings too, but not always together. They have been real winners for me and I thank you for making them available to us. 🙂

  22. nikki

Louis, will the new tunic in walnut and berry be available tomm?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I’m not sure because they are “on line only”. They will not be part of my show but I will sneak peek the tunic with my legging sell. It’s only a 2 minute sell for the legging so if you blink you will miss it, and the legging might not even get on the air.I do know that they will be avail by sat. morning.

      1. nikki

Thanks for the info, I will be on the lookout.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear nikki……it is on line only so I’m not sure when it will be posted, but it should be posted by Sat. Some are saying the pant is big….I didn’t think so but I only see the XS. It wouldn’t hurt to size down one size unless you have big hips.

  23. Pamela in Anchorage

    Good Morning:

Just a comment on your previous posts to Kate in ref to your Etro Zebra print trench. Purchase that jacket (A77886) in Purple for my sister – I, personally LOVED the Brown w/Turquoise & the striking ‘classic’ Black/White with Red, but missed out completely on my size before closeout. Do hope you’ll consider designing another animal print utilizing these color contrasts that I adore in the future – frankly, I’d be thrilled if ya brought back the ORIGINAL!

My cab is here – have a GREAT day – Louis!

  24. Cela

    Hi Louis,

Any new LUCITE jewelry reached the QVC warehouse yet? There look to be two necklaces in your sneak peeks.

      1. Cela

        No lucite/gold watch either?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

The lucite, or tortoise or ivory watches are coming in May, just no lucite jewelry.

  25. Debbie

    Hi Louis,
Have we seen all the great things coming on the next show?
    Thanks

  26. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

Louis – I have some very positive feedback regarding fabrics. I’ve already posted reviews (before washing), but feel compelled to give you more input. I recently washed the bird print crop pants and shirt, the new denim jacket and the ivory pant/jacket (A232344/A232347). I used my hand wash cycle, on cold water, tumbled on very low for 2 minutes, and ALL pieces came out with absolutely no need to press or steam. I was amazed, especially on the cotton pieces. Your designs area amazing, but these fabrics top all!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Good to know as I have two more pieces in the cotton in another print coming in May.

      1. Jane

        Louis,

I have to add the same comments as Susan on the phoenix print shirt. I washed it in cold with my Whisper Knits, hung it to dry, and was amazed that it required no ironing. When I saw this I went back and ordered the third color of this fabulous shirt! This is a great cotton fabric.

        Jane

  27. HAPPY LADY

    HI Louis,
For your silk/cashmere line how about “INDULGENCE”. How about “SUBLIME”. THE TERM “Luxe” has been used too much lately. Rachel Zoe & Randolph Duke both have Luxe lines.

  28. Pamela in Anchorage

    Dear Louis:

I want more RED in my wardrobe! Lucky to own A210353 Ethnic Embroidered jacket in your ‘illustrious’ RED – It’s RED perfect! Matches my ideal Red nail colour (Le Vernis 475 Chanel Dragon)+Dragon Allure Lipstick!

Realize it’s a woven vs. a knit – can u compare A219896 WK Tie&Button sweater to this topper’s shade of Red? (Perhaps u still have the samples?)

Also, would love to see the Silk/Cashmere Tneck offered in RED again!

I say with the utmost respect – “Thanks Mr. Wizard”!

    STAY SAFE…

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Pamela………….I am doing lots of RUBY RED for my October Fall Group. There will be RUBY RED TWEEDS, SEQUINS etc etc……I think you will have your fill of RUBY!

      1. Cathy in PA

Oh, Louis … ! How will we make it to October so I can order my Ruby birthday presents??? This sounds DIVINE!

        Cathy in PA

  29. Bcm

    Hi Louis,

My suggestion for the silk and cashmere line is Luxe Knit.

  30. Kate

FYI, the May issue of “Marie Claire” magazine features a dress made of lace over a solid background (this one is navy over white) by French Connection. It doesn’t have the seaming and other details as yours and its priced at $248.00. French Connection is a trend brand, not exactly known for excellence, so one can only imagine how its constructed and the quality of the material. Your’s is under 60? Amazing.

Oh, they also show a Marc Jacobs bracelet made of plastic links with a kind of turnlock metal center–it’s looks very, very much like your new enamel watch in terms of color, style, and scale. It’s also 188.00 (and its not even a watch and its plastic!).

Finally, there is an entire section on ORANGE and another called the “New Boho” that includes ikat, animal prints, and big beaded necklace.

Looks like Linea was ahead of each trend. Again.

    1. Kate

I forgot to mention that in that same issue, Drew Barrymore is featured wearing a floral print, georgette blouse covered with oversized flowers. It’s perilously close to the new one you’re about to show. Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, $1200.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

That’s interesting…..How Close? You realize all the print house keep extensive libraries of every print they ever produced which are open to their best clients only. So prints from the past can make an appearance years latter. I did a Zebra print with Etro that I used again for QVC, the brushed cotton trench jacket. and I have seen the exact print on Cavalli and Ungaro……..

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

I think I’ll have to get a subscription to “Marie Claire”………..LOL

      1. Kate

Mighty close, except the flowers are against a tonal pink background rather than the contrast color you chose. Anyone who disses that print needs to pick up a few current fashion magazines!

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

What can you do. I don’t expect everyone to like it or to think it’s for them…..but to say it’s matronly or out of date, only proves how unaware they are. That’s my job…. to know what is in the air and to have a feel for what’s to come.

          1. Goldie76

You nailed it, Louis. Just because one cannot wear the flowery dress well does not mean it should be condemned as “matronly.” I know I cannot carry it off despite my great love for flowers and color. The odd thing is that I kept picturing someone who could wear it well, and my image shifted more often than I thought it would. I can see a Jac type, Ann Coulter (not one of the sweetest ladies in the world, but she could wear it well) and other not-as-tall women with slim gams looking smashing in it. Then, I thought, someone with shorter but toned legs could carry it off well, too.

Next I was thinking that someone of a “really” certain age shouldn’t. But once again I saw a fit, gray-haired Albuquerque sort of woman in my mind and decided that she, too, would do beautifully in this dress.

Just not me… Not at this time. In my 20s and 30s, yes, but not now. Not a place I should go, so coaxing won’t work this time.

  31. Carol B

For the knit, how about Aspen Knit, for the upscale ski resort? Or, how about Jacqueline Knit or her middle name (whatever it is), your upscale wife.

  32. Kathy

    Hi Louis
I have been a customer since you first came to QVC.. My first purchase was the sleeveless black dress, it must be 15 years ago. I have many good memories wearing it from our BEAUTIFUL USA to Paris and beyond.
So today I ordered the new version in the bamboo colored lace, with the new shrug.
I had a nice order from your last show, Ponte knit blazer Limoges, two skirts and the pants arriving today. One aqua WiK aqua shell. I would like a little shorter length like your sleeveless shells., I’m only 5’5″. On a good day, so I feel they are just too long for me.
FYI. I ordered both the silver and gold in the panther link watch, and the white enamel, love them, but the way they arrived?? Watches, boxes, all loose insider the shipping box. I know you have nothing to do with the shipping just passing this along.
    Love your stuff!
    Kathy in. Wisconsin

  33. Bernadine

    Hi Louis
Got a question about the color of the new gauze shrug. On QVC they list it as “ivory” but you are calling it white. Can you tell me which it is??

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Bernadine…..That’s a good question…………..It isn’t a stark or optic white, but it isn’t exactly ivory either…..it’s a soft white or off white. There isn’t any yellow in it. It does look good with the gauze dress.

  34. Amy (aka Lacylass)

Louis? Can you define teacup heels for me? stumped in my shopping search for those black patent slingbacks you bave so graciously suggested … THANK you so much 🙂

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Hi Amy…..a “Teacup Heel” is approx 1″ to 1 1/2″ high, so it is a low heel. It is usually wider at the top where the heel connects to the shoe…..tappers in towards the center and then slightly flares out at the bottom….that is the classic Teacup. However now any heel shape goes, but it still must be relative LOW. I have seen the Marc Jacobs shoes at Nordstroms, but I am sure you can see then on line at his site or Louis Vuitton….which has used them in all of their national ads.

  35. designista

The lace dress and gauze shrug are available now!

  36. liz

    Hi Louis,
I have already ordered the new shrug. This is exactly the piece that I have been looking for and in fact made one for myself last year in crochet. It is more of an arm cover than a shrug and does not interfere with the beautiful lines of the dress.I would love to see something like this in more colors in the future. Thanks for all of the fabulous fashion.I appreciate you! Liz

Is there any chance that your jewelry manufacturer could offer a bag of clip-on findings to match your jewelry? Something like 6 pairs in different finishes per bag would be great. I’ve had to pass on so many of your earrings because they weren’t offered in the clip style, and the color of your metals isn’t easily matched in the open market. The wave earring is great, but it really looks best with that inverted tear drop finding at the top. The gunmetal is impossible to match. Do you have any other alternatives?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sorry it’s taken a while to get back to you. I made the inquiry, and my manufacturer said it was something they could not offer. I wish I had I good suggestion, but I’m stumped on this one…….Have you ever considered pierced ears???? LOL

  38. online education

I like the valuable information you provide in your
articles. I will bookmark your blog and check again here
regularly. I am quite sure I will learn many new stuff right here!
Best of luck for the next!

  39. Kristen/spagal

    Hi Louis,

I’ve noticed other questions on the pucci top in the new turquoise. Would it go with your sunshine denim skirt? Thanks, Kristen

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I don’t see why not. Of course there isn’t any yellow in the top, but I like aqua and yellow together.

  40. njlady

    Hi Louis,
Love the gauze dress – would u get in regular size. Is it fitted in the midruff area?
Also, hard to tell – is the uneven hem above the knee?
    Thanks for all you do

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear njlady…..I don’t see my answer posted so I will answer again. Even though there is a high shape to the dress and then flares out it isn’t a close to the body fit…..it glides over rather than hugs. The shortest part of the dress is below the knees.

  41. Cheryl

    Dear Louis,

The dresses you have shown the last few days are just lovely, but I hope you will also have some pieces for those of us who are not dress people and are on the shorter side. Thanks so much.

    Cheryl

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cheryl….I try to make something for everyone and there will be certain things that are not for everyone. There are things for both short and tall people, but maybe not the same things.

  42. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Why does this work? I don’t know, but it just does. After “discussing” here with you how any of the new WK colors should work for any skin coloration with some slight make-up adjusting – a discussion occurred on the QVC boards with some of the more astute Linea ladies. Several maintained that you would have to change your foundation to make some of the colors work for you depending on your natural coloring. So thinking of that, since I am always typed as a “cool” or “soft” summer – blonde and blue-eyed, I decided to try the nectarine and the lime in a V-neck, slightly away from my face. So those 2 v-necks arrived today. First of all the two colors are sensational and I AM KEEPING THEM. I love the way the lime and the nectarine AND the aqua all go so beautifully with the blue/aqua Ikat skirt!

But then I tried the nectarine and the lime pieces closer up to my face. All of my other WK pieces – the other 5 colors – are in my prefered neck choice – the mock neck. I loved the lime and the nectarine up close to my face also – which really surprised me. All I did was add a touch more blush. That’s it. And they look fabulous. Why does this work? I don’t know. But I’ve just ordered them in my favorite mock neck also and am just marveling at this. I really CAN wear these two other shades and they look great!

You also got me out of my long-held comfort zone by getting me to try the sleeveless in the new WKs. I NEVER wear sleeveless anything, but since the mock only came that way I jumped for them anyway. When I got them home I realized how fabulous it is not to have to stuff in the bulk of a short sleeve under all of my jackets and cardigans for spring/summer and how much cooler it is to do this. So from now on, it’s sleeveless (under jackets etc) or long sleeve for winter – for this Linea fan. And besides having all of the colors now in the mockneck, and a double on the black with all the endless possibilities they afford across my whole wardrobe – I’ve been so thrilled at the new life these have given to my more “vintage” pieces. Yesterday, for example, I wore the black mockneck under my ivory and black Linea Milano sweater with the Audry Hepburn neckline and the black enamel and pearl buttons and 3/4 length sleeves. Remember that beautiful sweater? Home run!! And since I also have that sweater in the red w/black trim version – I’m doubly thrilled! Thank you SO much!

  43. Gail

For the knit, how about Legato, the Italian word for “tied together.” In music it refers to notes that are played smoothly and connected together.

    1. Diamondscribe

Oh, Gail, speaking as a marketer, I like this one. Good suggestion!

      1. Gail

Thanks, Diamondscribe. This occurred to me partly because of Louis’ name, also.

        1. Qulia

Gail, I worked in public relations in my previous career and I endorse Legato as well. The word resonates with luxury because of how it rolls around the tongue when spoken. Plus the meaning works, plus the Italian luxury knits and Italian heritage. I like it! Good one!

          Julia

          1. Gail

Julia, I’m so glad that what I was thinking came across to you. Now I’ll be saying “Legato” for the rest of the day. Thanks for your comment.

  44. Karen

Since silk and cashmere are the most luxurios fabrics and to keep it simple, how about Luxury Knit?

    1. DeLois

I think this is as good as any I have heard….. It needs to be simple and easy to remember and kind of be a partner to Whisper Knit……… I did put in my offer, but it was erased and I cannot remember the word I used……… of all the others I like this one best……

  45. JV LI

Hey Louis, how about silcash sweaters, as you said, they are silk-cashmere… hence sickish in feel ???
    jv

  46. designista

Hi Louis. I’m late for the party having just received my orders from your last visit.
    1. The hybrid ponte blazer…fantastic fit and weight, ordered the Blue and Nectarine and then ordered the Black and White today.
    2. Drawstring skirts: love that there is no kick pleat so they are easy to shorten. I passed on the skirt with the flouce for that reason.
    3. Ikats are outrageous. I ordered the Purple, and then added the Blue to my order. When the Pink was modeled, I ordered that too. The Pink is my favorite and the one that I thought I would like the least.
    4. Happy to have the White and Walnut leggings. The previous Olive leggings look great with the Purple Ikat. I wish I had ordered a second pair when they were offered.
    5. I hope the georgette scarf top is reordered, I was only able to get the Black and White.
    6. Amber jewelry is gorgeous, as is the watch!
All in all, too many great things to order all at one time! I love everything.

Any chance the 75% silk/25% nylon yarn in the A9399 tank will be used again? The Yellow and Espresso work beautifully with the diagonally striped skirts.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Unfortunately, they are not producing that particular yarn anymore.

  47. clarika

    Dear Louis

I am so excited by the April floral dress, I was wondering on your opinion for the more large chested ladies. I wear an XL and want to know if these would be suitable. I do love the purlpe most of all!

    Thank you
    Clarika

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Clarita…..I would think the xl is going to be big enough. It is not a fitted dress. Check the measurements before hand.

  48. Mary

    Dear Louis,

I bought your new leggings, A233186 and look forward to wearing them (in white) with the Navy ‘English Gardener’s Shirt’

Today, I happen to be wearing the discontinued A216529 crop pants with the side zipper. They are a different pant, and heaven knows why they were discontinued with 25 5-star reviews, but I was wondering…

It’s a great silhouette and a useful pant. Would you consider bringing them back with a fly front (so much easier than side zippers). Perhaps in a plain cotton fabric, no sheen?

I have a closet full of Linea. 99% of my wardrobe is now Linea. I am so grateful for what you do.

    Thank you,
    Mary (Shopsy)

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That was a good pant…..I will use that body again. I guess the side zipper killed it. A pant has to be front zip or pull-on to be successful. Personally with everything being worn on top….I prefer a side zip and a flat front..

      1. Yvette

Louis, I’m with you! Side zippers for me, whenever possible. As you said, you can’t beat a side zipper for producing a nice, flat line over the tummy. Someone will just have to explain to me the part about front zippers being easier. I’m (ahem) 64 and have arthritis, but I still have no problem reaching my side. Long live side zippers!

        1. Karen in WA

Well, OK, I’ll explain. If you are large busted and short waisted, it is impossible. With a skirt, you can zip it up front and then twist it around, but with pants you cant, you need both hands and you can’t reach. I do understand side zippers make for a better fit.

          1. Diamondscribe

Karen, you said it right. Until a lady has the experience of passing a right arm across the mountain range to grab a zipper on the left side… she isn’t going to understand why everyone doesn’t rock side zippers, LOL. I’m with you there. Add a long torso, and it’s even more difficult.

Louis, I want to add a vote for that “body” of pant. I own it in olive and black. I can handle a side zip if there is some elastic/give in the waist because fortunately I don’t have much hip. I can just slide these pants up without using the zipper. You’ll get a laugh at this…although this pant is cropped, I wear it as an ankle pant (at 5’8). I was going to hem them but then discovered if I just slide the waistband down and let it sit just a bit below my natural waist, I gain an inch to get it to the ankle. The cut to this crop pant would also be great as an ankle pant.

      2. Susan Gosman

I’m with you! side zips and flat fronts are so much more elegant and flattering. Maybe you can continue to do them once in a while, until the rest of the ladies get it.

  49. Debbie

    Hi Louis,
First, LOVE the WK’s that I have received (color & length).. Really looking forward to the lace dress. I don’t have a special occasion so to speak but will wear all the time even with dressy flip flops to everywhere. Thanks for all you do for us!

  50. LindaAZ

I’m very interested in the lace dress — I think you must have been reading my mind because I have a wedding to attend in July. I’ll need to fly, and the no iron feature is great. I know someone else asked, but when will the dress be available for ordering?

Also, I notice that you said to order your regular size. My issue is that I normally wear size small, but I find I wear XS in many (but not all) of your items. I ordered the Ikat top (love, love), in size XS, and it is plenty large. Thanks for your comments and your lovely clothing.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Linda…..I think in this particular dress it would depend if you are small all over then you might get away with the xs. The Ikat top isn’t a good judge because it is a roomy flowly top, without any particular fit. It depends how close to the body you want it, thought I do not think the xs will be too small. The dress will be on April 20th, Sat., on the 8am Morning show, with Leah

      1. LindaAZ

Thanks for the information. I’m fairly small all over, but particularly on top. I will check the measurements when they are posted.

        Thanks again.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Then I would say the XS which is on my mannequin and the mannequin is a 6

  51. Debbie

Louis, love the dress, especially with the shrug. When is it scheduled to be aired? Have a wedding and this would be great.
    Thanks,
    Debbie

  52. Sharon

Hello Louis, I was wondering if there will be a lot more color coming for spring and summer? I love love those whisper knit colors and love those sweaters. I really need color in my life especially for summer. I think your finding out from sales that other women feel the need for color. I wondered if we will ever get winter pastel colors in sweaters?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sharon the Entire “Feather Jersey ” group will be avail by the end of the month early May and it is all color, neutras like navy, olive, hmp and smoke gray which will play off Lime, Nectar, Aqua, Sea foam, Orchid and Flamingo….is that enough color?

  53. Eileen

Hi, Louis, Thanks for always being so nice to respond to all of our questions. We all know you care very much. What a peach! I have a small question–the A233187 crushed georgette scarf top that sold out immediately–will that be coming back soon? I was able to get it in black, and I think the style is wonderful. Thanks very much. How about some other colors?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Eileen, If it is sold out in your size, the best you can hope for this season is a return. If it is reordered……..it will take a year to be back.

  54. Kate C.

    Louis,
I received the new ‘hybrid’ ponte jacket yesterday and it is perfect. If you had made this piece just for me it could not have been better! Thanks so much, and let’s hope this is reordered. I’d love to have a selection of these jackets, in various colors.

  55. Carmille

Hello Louis, I have a question. I ordered the chilipepper top with the shell underneath but have not been able to see it yet as I am one of those Canadians who is shipping to California and will soon have my huge stash next week via my friend who is flying up for a visit:) Oh the lengths we go to! Anyway, I love the Ikat skirt and wondered if the blue one would go with the chilipepper top. The skirt has a dark red in it, just don’t know if they would work together. What do you think? Love love everything you design!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Hi Carmille….I hadn’t thought of those two together. Checked my samples and the pink Ikat actually works a little better color wise, but the blue has so little red in it that the two together will be great anyway…..By the time you accessorize…it will all blend together.

      1. Carmille

Thanks Louis! The skirts are all so beautiful. Very impressed.

    2. Gail

Carmille, I also have the chilipepper top and the blue Ikat skirt. I just checked and agree with Louis’ assessment of the reds. (Surprise, surprise!) The top and skirt do go together. I also bought the WK button front cardigan in aqua and nectarine and they both look great with the blue Ikat skirt. I love the long line of the cardigan worn buttoned and over the skirt. The skirt material is so soft and flowing that it barely shows under the cardigan.

  56. Mary

Louis, thank you so much for all the lovely new items. I scored the IKAT prints (all) and every cardigan/sleeveless V in the whisper knits. And the white enamel watch.

Will there be a reorder in the various items in the Chili Pepper color? My collection is not complete without them, specifically the pebble crepe top and BOHO skirt in size 1X and L,, respectively.

    Beg, if you must.

  57. Mary

Louis, could you give us a sneak peek at the latest color available for the top A222275? Thank you so much!

  58. Diamondscribe

Louis, I noticed that the Pucci-inspired printed knit top (A222275) is available in turquoise. There is no color swatch, photo or video posted on the page. I love this top – bought it in all the other colors. Can you describe the turquoise? Is it blue-ish or green-ish turquoise? What other colors are mixed in the pattern?

I just got my Whisper Knits Wednesday. Awesome! Gorgeous colors, fit and length. I received 11 sweaters and have placed an order today for some more. Thank you so much for such a great knit collection. I also love the Ponte’ jacket. I have two of the colors delivered and am waiting on the other two (as well as the ponte pants that are in process as of this morning…yippee). That is a perfect Florida jacket! The limoges blue is stunning and I’m hoping there might be some WK in that color down the line?!? Deborah

  59. rita donovan

Hi Louis. I ordered the fish necklace and first they told me it would be another few weeks and now I’m tole I canot get it? Will you have it again? Very upset. They
took my order and did not deliver. Also I got the asermetrical blouse in turg
and white. Would also like it in black.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Rita…….I don’t know why they told you that….sometimes they just aren’t up to speed. The fish pendant was extremely popular, and I would think it will be reordered, but I have not gotten an official word. It usually takes three months to know. Sorry CS gave you false hope. So glad you got the turq and white shirts….they went in a flash!

  60. Karen in WA

Your sneek peek looks good. I am wondering if the walnut feather pants would go with the lace jacket, rasberry, and the natural shell. I like darker colors to anchor my bottom. I have some chocholate pants from someone else, then I saw these……

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Absolutely….it will have a some what dressier look, but the colors and style will definitely go together.

      1. Karen in WA

        Oh, be still my heart……

  61. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

    Louis,
I received my Whisper knits, ponte knits, Ikat skirt, scarf top and leggings. I love it all! No issues with sizing, fit, or fabric! – Perfection! I like both long and short whisper knits. I wear the longer length with the more fitted in the leg bottoms. I like the shorter length for use with bottoms that are more fitted at the waist. The aqua whisper knit color is delicious! I have gone back to order more leggings, more drawstring skirts (but sold out in the colors I was seeking), an additional v-neck tank, and will try an Ikat top based on all the rave reviews. I am anxiously awaiting the sneak peek on the lace dress. I am thinking this is my wedding outfit for Greece! See you on the 18th! 🙂
    Susan

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Good haul Susan……I think you have the formula down pt for how to wear the WK different length sweaters.

  62. JV LI

    Dear Louis:
I fell in love with your new color combo tan and peach 3/4 sleeve tie dye cardigan (even though I already have one) and loved how you debuted it with Jac with the taupe boho, however that color boho is out of stock in my size S so I have been trying to find an alternative, and I have… the peeble crepe pull on skirt in terracotta works perfectly and is very casual chic with the new cardigan! Again thanks for all you do, your clothes are fabulous!
    JV LI

  63. enjay

    Hi Louis,

I had a thought … would it be possible to include a whisper knit silhouette similar to A224278 – the sleeveless, scoopneck shell that “flies off the shelves”? Obviously it’s a popular choice – it’s sold out twice. And the shorter length would give those of us who prefer a shorter look – or a shell to wear under blazers – an option. I have the natural and pale olive, and they look great under jackets or on their own. I’m 5’6″ and these hit me at a high hip length that’s very flattering.

Just a thought – but that style sure would look pretty in whisper knit (hint, hint)! Or even with a v-neck (another hint, hint)!

      1. designista

That style would work better for me as well.

  64. Carol

    Dear Louis:

I received my orders this week and love absolutely everything. I’ll pile onto the those who would prefer a short length in the sweaters, but I have no problem hemming them to fit my needs. I just wish the controversy was over how the pants are too long! LOL

The enamel link watch is pure genius. Size, shape, colors. Everything. Now, I would love to have an enamel link bracelet just like this watch, including the removal links so we can adjust as needed. A necklace and some drop earrings would be good, too. Black, navy and yellow to go with your denim pieces would also be well received, I’m sure.

Looking forward to the rest of the April shows.

    crdlb

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Carol…..happy to hear from you……………….glad you are please with everything, I’m so glad you like the watch. It certainly doesn’t look like everything else out there.

  65. Diamondscribe

Louis, I noticed the Pucci-inspired knit top (A233182) is available in turquoise. I can’t find anywhere in my notes a description of the colorway and on your blog here the photos show only the original three colors. Can you describe the color/shade? Blue-ish or green-ish turquoise? I love that print and was excited to see a color I don’t yet have. BTW, I have 10 of the new WK OLO group and plan on getting more. AWESOME!!! Love the styles. Love the length. Thank you for such a great group of knits. Deborah

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Diamondscribe………………..the Aqua colors that I used in this new combination are both blue and green Aquas…………however, the over all effect I was going for was the Aqua of the new Whisper Knit. When I was in junior high.r maybe younger, I fell in love with the color of Waterman’s “South Sea Blue” fountain pen ink. They had just introduced it and it was quite popular. If you are old enough maybe you remember it. Strange to fall in love with a color, but I am guilty…..I used it as a water color in paintings. I have tried to carry that color with me all of these years but now, I can only imagine what it was……better that way.
