Also Louis, my first FJ piece arrived today – I had ordered the Dolman Sleeve top in nectar – and it arrived along with the blush option of the lotus print “jacket”. I tried on the dolman top – a lovely fit without sizing up – and feels like you have nothing on so I didn’t bother to take it off before trying on the blush lotus print “jacket”. And do you know, that nectar top looks quite fine with the blush lotus “jacket”! DH, who doesn’t know “blush” from “nectar” said “WOW!” when he saw the two pieces on me.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy………so glad you like the Feather Jersey top…..it’s my 2013 answer to “Flash Dance”. The Nectar color is so flattering. Your husband may not know nectar from blush, but he knows what he likes when he sees it!

And…I have been trying to write a review of the TORTOISE NECKLACE on the QVC website, but it will not allow it. I keep getting some weird computer message when I try to write the review. I ADORE this necklace, and I want everyone to know this! I wore it with black leggings, black tee shirt and black jean jacket, and it absolutely popped. And…I am not a yellow “gold” person even though I am also a Leo! I did write a review on the Linea blog, so hope your ladies will see that. Thanks again, Louis.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Ellen, the important thing is that you like it! Thank you for trying.

    2. Seka

      Ellen,

I too have been having trouble with writing Reviews. I have found that if I go to my ‘Order Status’ – and log in – then go to write a Review – I can do so. I have no idea why this works – but it does for me.

      Seka.

      1. Ellen

Thanks, Seka and Becky. I will try your suggestion. Have a good one.

    3. Becky

Dear Ellen, I’ve had trouble in the past, too. It helped me to go into My Account first and get that up and running and then go back to the item. Perhaps that will help. I hope so, Becky

Hi Louis..I love your clothes. I am an attorney, and they fit my lifestyle perfectly. Howver, I am absolutely livid at QVC. I ordered both “Chanel”-like jackets (the bamboo and the blush) at midnight of the day they were presented. My order must have been one of the first since you did not present the jackets until 7pm that evening and I noted continued availability after the show. I received an e-mail from QVC that they cannot fulfill my order. Either they don’t have the item..it is on backorder..the shipment was not what they expected…excuse after excuse. The fact is that QVC is misrepresenting the sale and inventory of your items. An item is either available for sale or it is not. This is fraud…you cannot sell something you do not have. The customer has to be made aware that the item is available or it is not available. I bought all of the coordinating pieces and will now have to return all. I have contacted customer service, and there is nothing they can do. I just wanted you to be aware of this. Many of your Linea ladies are unhappy about this. Thank you for listening and for your beautiful clothing.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Ellen, I have forwarded you post to my buyers and asked them to forward it to someone who may be in charge. I am just as bewildered as you, and if I were you I’d be just as angry.

  4. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Or is that too much fabric up front and around back together? cowl neck + peplum jacket?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy……at first I was as hesitant as you, so before answering I put both pieces on my form….and….WOW! Not only are the navies great together, which souldn’t surprise me because I always use the same standard foe “NAVY”, but the cowl and the peplum jacket IMHO look fabulous together. There is interest up front and back. Since you can’t see the front and the back at the same time, there is no conflict and since they are both in navy, it is much more subtle than you would first think. I would not have thought to put them together since I am focusing on the navy crepe blazer with the FJ, but go for it….it looks very rich and VERY designer.

      1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Wow! That’s good news 🙂 I am ALL OVER this cowl top as soon as Q gets around to posting it! Having no idea how many of those TSV jackets sold, I am guessing it was a whole lot! If that’s so, then like me with 5 of them 🙂 there are all SORTS of fun combos between the FJ tops/colors and the TSV jackets.

  5. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Louis, I’m wondering if the FJ cowl neck top which we are all waiting for the Q to post is a good match in NAVY with the TSV Navy jacket with peplum detail?

Yesterday was another all Linea day for me at church in the recent ikat skirt with all the aqua in it, the sleeveless aqua mock neck, the stone herringbone jacket and the hammered link necklace in goldtone with the aqua in it. What a beautiful outfit!

  6. Tuni

    Louis,
Once again I found the latest offerrings something I could not resist. There were even a few pieces that I originally thought I wouldn’t like–but once I saw them presented got them home I quickly fell in love. I think you have taught many of us to experiment more and we are enjoying the results! I do have one question regarding the lotus print jacket/wrap. I saw it presented with the matching tank, and of course with solid black underneath. But what other colors would you recommend for layering under that wrap? The ladies on the QVC site gave me some good suggestions–but I thought I’d get advice from the designer’s eye as well. As always, trying to stretch the wardrobe and find new ways to combine all my wonderful Linea pieces. Many thanks.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Tuni…..a two color print like this is going to be more limited for mixing and matching, so besides the obvious matching print tank and a black tank, I love the natural flecked tweed tank and the stone herringbone faux linen with it. Putting a color under it is tricky and I can’t think of one I would recommend other than a wheat [that looks similar to the bamboo, or an ivory color.

  7. Kate

So, first you convinced me to try prints. Then came cropped pants (never say never, I guess). Now, shorts! I love the new floral print shorts as they’re super comfortable, roomy enough but not baggy, and look so good with a pair to high wedges as well as flip fops. I was one who rolled her eyes at the thought of wearing shorts after the age of 16, but I’m rocking these just fine. If one day they were to be available in solid colors, I would buy them all!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

You are funny! I am very proud of you for trying the shorts. After the show Jac told me, during the ride home, how surprised she was by how much she loved the fit of the shorts. She too found them very comfortable and the fit modern with the slimmed leg. She does wear shorts and always has, but rarely a print. I had to give her my samples…..well not had….I was happy she wanted them. I bet you get lots of compliments! Just think how really nice they will be when we finally get some summery weather. Don’t forget to leave your review.

      1. Ann from Maryland

        Louis,

I too stepped out of my box to try the floral shorts. I was a little afraid they would make my behind look larger than it is. However, I don’t know how you do it, but they actually are very slimming.

Love the fabric and love the new shorts. Hope you’ll do more in the future – solid colors and more prints, too!

        Thanks again!

        Ann from Maryland

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

It will be a hard sell to the buyers since the shorts only did so so. I really don’t know why shorts are so controversial. Where I live I see women in shorts all the time, tennis skirts and golf skirts which are plenty short. For me they are very preppy, Ralph Lauren even Dolce and Gabanna. I didn’t think they would cause such controversy? The weight of this fabric is so light I would think when it gets hot and humid they would be one of the first things you would want to put on…………..no?

  8. Kathy

    Hi Louis
Oh what fun I had placed my order well in advance of the show, so I could just sit back and enjoy! Got your new print jacket with both pants, navy print in the shorts and shirt, (have the skirt from last heat) aqua tank, and both the ivory and tortoise watches along with the tortoise necklace.
My husband enjoyed the memories of the blond in the south of France! This blue-eyed blond will be ordering the aqua jacket, but no short shorts!
Thanks for all your hard work you put into the shows and the photos and sneak peaks you give us! Keep them coming.

  9. Bcm

    Dear Louis,

Thank you so much for your opinion. I had actually done just what you suggested. I had ordered the cardigan in my usual size and the tank one size up. I am looking forward to receiving them. They looked so elegant and chic on the models.

  10. Judy

    Hello Louis
I have the V-Neck Animal Print top in pink, A214114 in medium and love it. I wanted to order the Animal Print Safari Blazer to go with it, but am wondering if I should get it in Medium also, not sure on the sizing for the jacket. Any suggestions? I am new to your clothing, I love it very much and really enjoy seeing you on QVC and also love this blog.
    Best Regards
    Judy

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Judy…….this is a semi fit jacket and is roomy, so You would not need anything bigger than a medium. I would suggest reading the reviews , there are lots of them, and see how the ladies are finding the fit. If the majority say it’s large then go down a size, but if they majority say it’s running true to size then order what you normally would.

  11. Bcm

    Hi Louis,

I have a question about sizing on the Lotus cardigan and tank. The Linea ladies on the forum seem to think because the fabric is woven and not a knit that perhaps we should go up a size since the fabric has no stretch. What is your opinion? Thanks so much.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Honestly, I do not think you would need to go up on the cardigan, however the tank is another story. Since there isn’t any stretch, you have to be careful of the bust measurement. If you are large busted then definitely go up one size. If this has been a problem area for you before then definitely go up one size. The only problem going up a size to accommodate a larger bust is the possibility that the armhole may be a little low or large. If you intend to always wear it under something then it’s not a big deal. Naturally, if the size of your bust hasn’t been a fit issue in the past, then you can go with your normal size. I do not allow my models at the Q to wear push up bras, because that can throw the fit of a garment off. A minimizer can sometimes do the trick. They are like spanx for the bust and are not uncomfortable if you use the correct one.

    Hi Louis,

The reorder of A221808 the crepe jacket is now available for order in the colors of navy, red, and the new aqua. So glad about this–I’ve lost weight and wanted to order replacements. Question–Will you have any new items in the crepe fabric to go with the jackets? Or new blouses that will coordinate? Thanks, Louis. I’m really addicted to your clothes!

    Carol in FL

    1. Pamela in Anchorage

Is the ‘new’ Aqua a coordinate to the WK Aqua?

Silver Signature buttons on Aqua vs. Gold buttons on Red?

That RED is on my wishlist…..& this Blue-eyed Blonde loves that Aqua!

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

The new Aqua blazer actually coordinates better with the new FEATHER JERSEY AQUA. The Aqua of the WK is the same but stronger, that’s due to the rayon content, which really takes color. I chose to use the GOLD signature buttons on the Aqua, I just love gold ans Aqua together, what can I say I’m a Leo and we All LOVE gold. The red also has gold….I have posted my sneak peek on this jacket since it is now posted on the Linea site and avail. for ordering.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Carol……..for the new AQUA BLAZER….the new AQUA FEATHER JERSEY looks great, either in the classic tank or the sleeveless cowl neck….The cowl neck WILL BE POSTED LATE MONDAY, definitely TUES. There are many things that will go with the navy and red blazers…the new WHISPER KNITS……..don’t be afraid to mix your colors with the red! The AQUA would look great with the red and turquoise jewelry . Let the accessories pull the colors together. The reorder T-shirt I just showed with Jill, in the navy with gold piping will look great under the red blazer….the white or chambray blue “Kate” cotton shirt would look great under all of them. The LIME WK or FEATHER JERSEY under the navy…..beautiful….The clip dot georgette blouse for something a little dressier or with jeans, ivory under all the colors, BLACK under the AQUA and RED with white bottoms and the BLUSH under the navy blazer……wonderfully feminine…..the Baby Cheetah t-shirt. The Caribbean blue Hydrangea T-shirt under the AQUA BLAZER. Visit the site ad browse…..there are lots of things that will work!

      1. Carol in FL

Thanks, Louis, for the great ideas. I have many of the whisper knits in the fiesta colors and the basics of black, ivory, and navy, as well as the Kate shirt. I ordered the swiss dot blouse–gorgeous–but had to return because the sleeves in size small were too short. The feather jersey aqua tank is on waitlist in my size, but I may get lucky. Will check out the cowl neck when it comes on line. Thanks again for the crepe blazer. It is so me! Can’t wait to get it. I’ve ordered it in all 3 colors–doing the happy dance!

    Louis,

I love your ( now mine!) Limoges blue pants. I wore them with the medallion print top in the blue configuration from years ago to the grocery store this morning. A lady complimented me on my striking outfit. This is why I love your designs so much. What one has purchased from years ago always seems to go with the newer designs. Keep them coming and I will keep buying!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I don’t do “color” pants too often but I LOVE the Limoges Blue pant and the colors in the new FEATHER JERSEY. I’m glad you are enjoying your pants. The Limoges pant with just a white cotton shirt worn on the outside, sleeves rolled up, a black patent belt and ballet flats or black patent sling backs, black sun glasses and black patent shoulder bag………it doesn’t get any more chic than that! Simple and striking!!

  14. Sheesh

Hi, Louis. As you well know, the pictures on the Q are notoriously bad and are not reliable in any way. So, can you please tell me, would the Hemp Whisper Knit Tank A233962 work under the Chain Print Blazer in Ivory A215177? I missed out on the reorder on the Ivory Tee with gold trim, and my Size large in that Ivory Tee is now too big for me…arghhh….so I’m looking for an alternative. What do you think? Thanks much.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sheesh….GREAT IDEA…..just checked my samples and it is PERFECTION……the Hemp is a natural with the ivory chain print jacket. I had the cowl neck handy it it looks wonderful….the tank will look great too. A hemp bottom and you have a two piece look wit a blazer. Also you can very easily wear the navy t with the gold piping with navy bottoms with the ivory jacket and it will also look great for a totally different look…….a wee bit nautical…..without the anchors……….fish earring maybe?

  15. Dariann

    Dear Louis,

First of all, I adore the new ethnic kimono! I purchased the thyme and the black. You were right, the thyme looks fabulous over anything black. Now, bring us some more ethnic jewelry to wear with the kimonos.

Happy 13th anniversary at the Q – looking forward to many more years of your beautiful designs.

    Dariann

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Dariann……enjoy enjoy you Kimonos………….I am trying to create some ethnic looking jewelry, but it’s very difficult. Once you have seen the originals….the copies just don’t stand up…..it’s the look of the beads with their different variations of shades and colors that simply can’t be reproduced. Many of the originals were made in horn and materials that QVC won’t allow…… and the new metal stations just don’t have that old world patina that make the real stuff so wonderful and full of character……..It’s also quite costly to make this type of necklace look good………but I keep trying…..eventually I’ll get there….I hope.

  16. debby

Cant wait for the jet beads for my embroidered kimono sleeve top – when will they be coming in -Don,t want to miss them and will pre order as soon as they are posted. How can I buy A221807 in navy medium -it has never come back into stock! Love your shows and clothing!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Be very patient…….they are for the Holiday selling season……..not sure if they are planned for Oct or Nov. selling…..but..they are gorgeous, all glass beads, 72 inches long like the pearls and definitely worth the wait.

      1. debby

        Any way to preorder?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

No, they don’t even have a style number yet and won’t be avail until Sept/Oct.

  17. Anne

Regarding the mysterious cowl neck top: I emailed the customer service rep. yesterday regarding A233957 and provided the description of the item. The response back was this was not the correct number. . . . they had no such top!
Anyway, I’ve noticed that G.I.L.I. has a similar new top they are selling. Maybe they don’t want the competition at the same time?
    Just a thought.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Anne, A233957 is absolutely the correct style number. I don’t know why this style hasn’t been posted when all the others are, except one other which was a little latter in delivery. I don’t think they are as devious as holding it back because of a GILI piece I would say its’ a lack of organization. Since it has been there along with the other Feather Jersey pieces.?????

  18. MH_MN

The May shows were a feast for the eyes. The synergy among you, the hosts and the models made the two hours fly. I know that you put a tremendous amount of work into these presentations and it is such a treat for your audiance when you and the hosts are simpatico! Jac was beautiful, as always and it is obvious that all of the models enjoy showing your clothing. Thank you to all involved in the production! And thank you, Louis, for the banquet of goodies. I can hardly wait to see all the new items that I purchased.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I am so glad you enjoyed the shows. I think the models work the hardest doing my shows…..but they love doing it…..I ask a lot from them with all of the accessories etc. I happen to really like Jill, and Sandra and I have the same sense of humor. We were joking before the show about linen, because she thought the “C” type jacket was linen. So during the show we made a big thing of it knowing there are many linen lovers and haters. We all had a good time.

      1. MH_MN

I purchased the jacket in bamboo and the pants in both colors, plus the complementary lotus pieces (and much much more). I have the black pleated skirt that you offered earlier, so these will be a wardrobe unto themselves. I love real linen but truly appreciate the practicality of the faux. Thanks for all you do to bring us such lovely garments!

  19. Sheesh

Hello again, Louis. Let’s talk Ponte Knit–the latest Drawstring skirt A233183), the matching jacket and pull-on pants. I adore this style—my new everyday uniform. I pop on the skirt or pants with one of your colorful poly tops (by the way the Butter Floral(A213615)top goes fabulous with the Limoges,)add one of the jackets—and I am literally ready for anything. So, will it come back next year in other colors? I’d love to see the skirt and jacket in a Red and also the skirt, jacket and pants in Navy. I really can’t say enough good things about this ponte knit–just perfect for most of our lifestyles. Thanks, Louis.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sheesh….the bad news is the draw string skirt and pant will not be reordered and the jacket is still up in the air…….once again, too many returns, so they do not meet the reorder standards.

      1. Sheesh

I am shocked that there were a lot of returns on those pieces…too bad. Will you bring us other ponte knit styles next year—in red and navy, please?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I have some amazing Ponte styles coming for Fall…….not in red and navy though………………The “LINEA PONTE”………most will be sold OLO. When you think about it….it really is the direction everyone is going into. Even designers aren’t relying on retailers to sell their clothes anymore. They believe they can do better business selling on line direct to the consumer. I am very excited about the OLO groupings. Do I really need to spend air time selling a WK sweater? when I can use that time to sell something else. I always get the opportunity to show them on a model with something else anyway.

      2. Yvette

Heavens! I can’t imagine why there were returns on that skirt. I’m wearing mine casually, as I don’t need office wear. It’s adorable with just a tee or a sleeveless v-neck WK. So happy that I grabbed it in black, white and limoges, but disappointed to hear that I won’t be able to look forward to other colors.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Me too….it gets very frustrating when things you really believe in don’t make the cut……….in the immortal words of Barry Diller…………….”NEXT!”

  20. Lynn Goodrich

I, too tried to order the cowl neck online. I saw the same message – sold out – even up to the day of the show. Today when I typed in the number it said you COULD NOT order it online. You had to call. I did call and the lady who helped me couldn’t find it in the system at all. To say this is a big mess at QVC is an understatement! I have the pants and wanted to get the cowl neck to match in the navy. it is one of your prettiest creations yet in this fabric. Now I’m afraid it will be on air as part of some random show and will sell out before I can get it. Very frustrating. I know it is not your fault or anything you can control, but just wanted to vent my frustration a bit. Thanks for listening. You’re the best! And thanks for all your beautiful creations.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

She couldn’t find it because it hasn’t been put in the system yet. Someone is asleep at the wheel.

  21. HAPPY LADY

HI LOUIS, About A233957***FJ Cowl neck top. On the morning of the show I called CS because the item number still showed “SOLD OUT”; why they cannot word “pending” makes no sense. Anyway, I got a really good CS rep who told me to hold on while she looked into this item since it is OLO. She was not aware of this system. She came back and said yes she had found A233957 and read the correct description and colors offered. I asked her what the price was and she said she was not permitted to disclose. She commented it is in the system; ready; just not released yet. Just thought you would like to know.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I think they just haven’t photographed it yet . I double checked today with my manufacturer, and they assured me every single piece of the cowl neck has been shipped to QVC and it is there. There isn’t much more that I can do. I have discussed it with my buyer and she is just as anxious to get it posted as we are, but it’s not her department.

      1. Carol

I think they’d sell more if they didn’t bother with their photo. Just saying. 🙂

  22. Maria (Goldie 76)

    Dear Louis,

I received two of your divine pieces yesterday – the black lace jacket with trim detail and my third V-neck animal print top (this time in the olive).

That lace jacket! If I gushed over it even a mite more I’d faint. It is supreme. What a beauty that has a basic touch to it. It is that twist that makes it so versatile.

And the shades of olive in the cheetah top work very well with my brunette coloring. They transition from light to dark and back again. Wonderful color choices. If you recall, I’m the one who was never going to wear an animal print.

Thank you for your beautiful creative mind and handiwork.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Maria…….a lesson I learned long ago….”never say Never”!

  23. Bcm

    Hello Louis,

I loved your shows yesterday. One of the items I purchased is the jacket in the blush color. I am so happy to hear that you will be bringing back the pink pearls! When can we expect them? Will you be bringing any pearls back in other colors? And the black jet beads- when can we expect them? Once again, thank you for all the beautiful fashions as well as the styling of accessories to wear with them.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Bcm………….I believe they are coming for the Holidays. I’m not really sure of the delivery dates. I know the pearls are being hipped in two group and there will be new colors. It was such a long time ago that I chose the colors. I know the navy and pink are coming back….maybe the grey too. If I remember correctly the new colors are ivory, purple, chocolate and olive……..and I do believe there will be a 10mm stud to match all of the colors I have done past and present, but until I get an order confirmation this isn’t 100%.

      1. Chris/Jazzmom

Glad to hear that stud earrings will be available for the necklaces!! I am assuming only pierced?? I have pierced ears but some women would prefer clip on. Will those studs just be in pierced?

          1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

OLIVE pearls? Now THAT makes me smile 🙂 Can’t wait. And studs to match? Happy sigh! And by the way Louis, you kidded me about packing a little “too much” for our European jaunt which we just returned from. Have to say, happily, that I wore every single piece of Linea I took with me – and that repeatedly – while we were away. The two caftan tops (olive and chili pepper) SEVERAL times, the blue multi paisley print scarf top SEVERAL times, the olive ikat, the tortoise shell zip front jacket – my ALL-TIME favorite jacket for 9 hour plane flights, a couple of WK turtles – throw on a cape or ruana and I was set and stylin – no matter the weather 🙂 Nothing travels like Linea!

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

The studs are not ordered yet so that is not a done deal….the pearls however, are ordered. Glad you trip was a success and I was able to make it comfortable for you…..clothes wise….LOL

  24. Jane

    Hi Louis,

Great shows yesterday and am anxiously waiting for my “haul,” particularly the gauze draped front cardigan which I purchased (among many other things) in all 3 colors!

My question is about the tobacco crops which the models wear on almost every show. They seem to go with so many of your pieces, including the new tortoise jewelry, and look particularly stunning with black. I missed out on them the first time around and have stalked them forever on the ‘bay (to no avail).

Are you considering doing any pants (or crops) in this tobacco color some time in the future? I think it’s a great neutral and it appears perfect for all seasons.

Thank you for all the beautiful new fashions!

    Jane

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jane…………..I’m not sure about bringing the tobacco back. The funny thing is, when I first presented them they were not popular and it too a long time to sell the color out. The black went quick, but the tobacco were lingering around for quite some time. There were those who did immediately fall in love with the color and said so in their reviews, but I guess that wasn’t enough for others to be convinced………….I always say “never say never”.

  25. Carol

Lovely shows, as always. I bought too much, as always. Can’t wait to get my new things home! Thanks again, for all your advice and expertise. I learn something new every time you’re on air. The tie dye dress was certainly a winner! Congrats on that. QVC should consider doing a TSV in one of your maxi dresses.

    crdlb

  26. Cela

We can ALWAYS tell the theme of the show by the COLOR OF YOUR TIE! You make fashion FUN Louis. I can not wait to try the new Feather Knits which I think will be really slimming. Definitely think the cute little hoodie will be on my list in Grey. I will have to stalk the matching pants. Is there another color that might work with the grey?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cela….you can always wear white or black leggings or Capri pants…..skinny white jeans too

  27. upallnight1/Deborah

Louis, thank you for another pair of outstanding shows. Just writing to say that you looked marvelous yesterday and your ensemble was a breath of fresh, spring air. I’m so glad QVC is giving you the kudos you deserve. Congrats!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Deborah……….I glad you enjoyed the shows, and yes…..QVC has been very supportive with all of the new OLO programs and building the jewelry line.

  28. Susan Gosman

I bought the dolman sleeve top and must say that QVC did not do it justice! It’s really a beautiful, sophisticated piece of clothing. I am wearing it with skinny pants, high heel sandals and your long gold earrings. It looks smashing. I can see it with pencil skirts also. I would love to have it in black and in white.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Susan….it’s the wearer that makes it look “smashing” and you sound absolutely stunning in your new outfit!

  29. njlady

    Hi Louis,
Loved your shows. Looking at the chest measurements between A232345 & A233855. Big difference. I know the first is a knit
but should I size up? Are they reordering the A232345 tank?
I like the lower scoop neck.
    Thanks

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear njlady…..do not size up in the knit! or it will be too big. The A233855 is a woven with out any stretch so be careful of the bust measurement…..remember NO STRETCH in this one.

      1. njlady

Do you have any other lower scoops coming up? They look so much better with Jewelry.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

No not for spring and summer. There is the Whisper Knit sweater with the scoop neck and short sleeve, that lloks great and the new Feather Jersey Tank, with the Feather Jersey matching cardigan.

  30. Barbara in Orlando

    Hi Louis!
Great show yesterday! I think I’ve got Margo beat in the number of pieces that I ordered, but who’s counting??? Like Margo I was looking for the cowl neck, and have been checking QVC since you posted it on your blog. I’ve already received both the smoke and bamboo in the cardigan, pants, and tank top, but that cowl neck adds great versatility to the set. Hope it shows up before it sells out since I know that it will!! Any chance that you’ll have a Feather Jersey presentation in June?

    Keep up the good work!
    Barbara

  31. Helen

    Hello Louis,

How about more fashions for Tall ladies?

I am 5’10” and would like to see longer skirts. Tall gals can wear clothes well, but are hard to find.

    Helen

  32. Nancy

    Hi Again Louis,

In reviewing my emails from QVC, I see that the 2nd email indicates your program has been cancelled for the month of June! What’s up with that?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Your guess is as good as mine! My June shows, as of today, are June 11th at 6am and 2pm.

      1. Nancy

Well, I definitely got a cancellation of the June 11th show and would be happy to forward it to you if you should need it for any reason. Just let me know here where to send it. I’m sure you saw that other women received it as well. Very strange. On another note, I loved your show yesterday. I came home from work early to watch it and ended up buying a lot of your items. Pretty soon the majority of my closet will be Linea and those pieces seem to be the ones I use the most. I feel very fortunate to have found you and I rarely visit the department stores or malls anymore –at least not for MY clothes!!

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I just checked again and I have been told my June shows are on the 11th at 6am and 2pm.

          1. Nancy

Interestingly, I just received another note from them indicating the shows WILL be on the 11th!! I feel like I’m spinning!! I responded that my requests for the information were prompted by THEIR emails indicating your June show(s) were cancelled! I think they’re a little confused. Anyway, sounds like we’re back on track again.
That’s the important part. I read your update this evening and agree that Jac was radiant and you were pretty dapper yourself. I love to listen to your shows because I learn so much from you. I also loved the “look” book from 1991. Any chance you might repeat that beautiful ivory blouse with the big portrait collar? It was so elegant and would be wonderful for the holidays!!

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

That blouse was made in a heavy-ish Gazar fabric……almost like a heavy Organdy. You need a somewhat stiff fabric to keep the shape of the collar. The fabric isn’t very QVC, and to do it in cotton would be all wrong……..so unless I find a fabric that would work, and work for QVC, then I would say the chances are slim.

  33. Mary Paine

Louis, I’m so disappointed that I missed out on your beautiful tiedye dress. Will you bring them back this summer (Please). I so enjoy watching you and your beautiful cloths. Thank you Mary

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Mary………….First, it is always up to the buyers to reorder a garment, not me or my manufacturers, it’s their money their decision. The chance of that dress coming back this year is pretty much zero. The factories are deep into Fall production and would not stop the production schedule to the make one dress. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

    2. Kate

If I may be an interloper, Mary in the next week or so you will see sizes and colors come back into stock. Many put garments on check payment and cancel, or switch sizes, etc. Stalking pays. I rarely don’t get what I want, but it does take some work. Good luck!

  34. margo ducane-windsor

    Hello Louis,

I purchased eight of your lovely pieces yesterday. However I can’t find the order number for the Cowlneck print tank that you previewed. It disappeared from your Sneek Peek listing. I have ordered the regular printed tank in both the blush and bamboo and the two matching cardigans. I would love the Cowl Neck Tank Too.

    Best Regards,

    Margo

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Margo, I did not have a printed cowl neck in my show? I had the Feather Jersey in solid navy, but that was it. It has not been posted on my QVC site yet and I’m trying to find out why. So far I have not gotten a response.

  35. Chris/Jazzmom

My FJ Petite pants and tanks arrived yesterday and I tried them on today. Love them all!! The smoky gray tank looks great underneath the smoky gray animal print jacket. I also put on the raspberry watercolor top (A219795) from a few years ago over the pants and that looks very nice too!

  36. Beano

Wonderful shows! You are more than a legend you are a national treasure. I was very happy ordering all the black and white prints and loved getting the black tee with the silver edging as I have in in navy and wear it a lot. How about doing those beautiful flower prints in a full trouser or pant. I don’t wear capris or shorts but would order full length pants in all the colors.

  37. Tammy

    Hello,
I Love the button front jacket with detail in blush shown on QVC today. I watched the video and saw a beautiful top and some gorgeous pearls that match perfectly with the jacket. I can’t find the pearls but I definitely want them – can you help me locate them?
    Thanks so much!
    Tammy

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Tammy……the pearls are completely sold out….however they have been reordered and will be avail for the holidays, not sure of the date.

  38. Maureen

dear louis- I’m sorry if this has been asked and answered already but I couldn’t find this. I saw where you said the “feather light jersey in Olive” should have been given a different name because it’s not the same color Olive we’re familiar with. Is it a brown, green, or yellow tone? thanks so much.

btw, “live stream” isn’t working today and it’s the only way I can watch qvc so I’ve missed your shows…. the smoke is still coming out of my ears.

    1. Seka

      Maureen,

You are not alone! I can get every Shopping Channel on ‘live stream’ in North America today – except QVC – on my MacBook. But for some reason I can get QVC ‘live stream’ on my iPhone! Many technical problems at QVC today.

      Seka.

  39. Joan

Forgive me if this post sounds angry, but I am. I went online to order the FJ pants in both the petite and regular sizes and as usual, the more conservative colors are gone in every size, whereas the fashion colors of orchid and blue are still available. This happens with every new item you blog about. How can there be reviews on the pants when they are new? How did anyone get those already? Your customer base is not the typical QVC customer who buys D&C and Graver by the tens of thousands. IMO they are women who are classic, traditional, updated from the women who wore suits in the 90’s. The QVC buyers should be able to put all the statistics into a database that analyzes who buys your clothes, what sizes, ages, and who returns i.e.are most returns due to fit, and is that because QVC can’t seem to get it right with their sizing measurements? The same thing happened when your brought your drawstring pants. They were gone in a second in the smaller sizes. If you like to bring in pants in fashion colors, please know that if they bring in 1000 pairs, 800 s/b in the neutral colors and 200 divided up into fashion colors. My observations are that your customers, in general, go for those neutrals (your heathered tank in the brown color was gone in a flash).
I just think it is unfair to customers who wait for your shows and really don’t have the time to stalk QVC every minute to order the second things go online, to find out everything they wanted is gone before it is even presented. XS and S sizes often don’t even make it to airtime. Sorry about the length of this but I wanted those pants and now don’t know why I’ll even watch the shows.

    1. Yvette

Joan, I’d respectfully suggest that you send this letter to QVC, since they are the ones who decide which colors and how many of each color are ordered. Louis just presents his designs – the QVC buyers make the decisions that are causing you (and sometimes me) grief.

      1. Carol

The feather jersey pieces are sold online only. They have been available for about a week already. That’s why there are already reviews, and why they are selling out.

  40. Julie

Hello Louis – I LOVE your designs!!! I received an email from qvc that your shows for today (May 14) are cancelled. Luckily for me, I ordered the newness I wanted at midnight, before the q started having website problems. I hope all is well with you and Jac!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Julie….the shows are not canceled!!!! I’m at QVC and I will be on at 1pm and 7pm!!!!!

      1. Julie

I actually received 2 emails – one said today (May 14) shows were cancelled; the other said June 4 shows were cancelled. Wish Q would get their act together. Louis, glad everything/everyone is good!

    2. Diamondscribe

Julie, the email is announcing that the June 11 Linea show has been canceled.

      1. Debbie Macy

That is because they now have Louis scheduled for June 10th according to my insider.

        1. Nancy

Hi All, I got 2 emails indicating the June 11 shows would be cancelled and I actually responded to them asking why they were cancelled. I received 2 replies: one indicated no knowledge as to why it was cancelled and referred me to their programming and the other was about the same. Neither of them told me that it was actually on the 10th. I was worried that Louis was cancelled for the month!! Seems like their right hand doesn’t know what their left hand is doing. Why didn’t they just send an email saying the show on the 11th is now scheduled for the 10th?????

          1. Louis Dell'Olio

That’s interesting because my buyer sent me an e-mail confirming the 11th at 6am and 2pm…..when it gets a little closer I will reconfirm. They always list the date and times on my QVC Linea site, just below my picture.

  41. Hi Louis!

I have been waiting and waiting for a pink business type jacket/blazer and I do recall you saying that there would be a pale pink jacket coming in May. I have been looking each day at your fashions and thought perhaps there might be something in one of your shows today, but I do not see anything. 🙁 Can you please tell me if you still have plans for some kind of pink jacket. Pink is the only color I’m missing in my wardrobe and I do love pink. 🙂 Thanks, Louis!

    1. Seka

      Sandra,

If I may respond – the Chanel Style Jacket is item A233851 and comes in Pink/Black and Bamboo/Black. It is already set up in the QVC system and can be ordered now. There are also matching Pants in Black and Bamboo. If you go to Louis’s Sneak Peeks you will see all of the items. Hope this helps.

      Seka.

      1. Seka

Forgot to mention – thee items should be presented in one of the two Shows today.

      2. I must have missed his sneak peeks, but I did find the jacket at the Q and did order it! Thanks for your reply! 🙂

    2. Hi Louis!

Just went back online at the Q and found the new blush jacket and of course, I did buy it! 🙂 🙂 🙂 My bad; but I still would like to have another pink jacket that has a more pink in it. Do you think that might be a possibility for later on this summer, please?

      Have a great week!
      Sandra

  42. Sheesh

Hi, Louis. I’m putting in a request for a printed top with Tangerine to go with the Tangerine Ponte pieces (and if you could pop a little Limoges Blue and Black in that print—all the better)—same fabric as the “Pucci”, the Medallion Print, the Florals and the Animal Print, please.

Love to you and Jac…and have a safe trip down to the Q and back. Oh, and don’t forget to thoroughly check the loading dock before you drive away!

  43. Debbie Macy

    Dear Louis,

While you are at the Q, can you ask where the FJ cowl tanks are? I must have them….
    Have a safe trip!

    1. Kristen/Spagal

Echoing Debbie’s question–we all want to know why it’s the only top not listed?

  44. Kate C.

    Good morning, Louis-
Do you have any plans for Whisper Knits in Latte or Bamboo? I’m trying to plan ahead!
    Thanks,
    Kate C.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kate…….I do not have any more Whisper Knits in any color coming for Spring. After the May show the Spring/Summer sweater program is over…..to start again for fall. If you are wondering what to wear the latte dress with, I would recommend wearing the WK shrug or the new white gauze shrug or the drape front sweater. I will certain consider a “Latte” color as a neutral for next spring.

      1. Kate C.

That’s exactly what I am considering-what to wear with the Latte dress. I think I’m going with the gauze drape front sweater.
I was hoping Latte might be ‘in the pipeline’ for fall, but I am looking forward to some Walnut WK pieces. It would be wonderful to see Latte WK for next spring!

      2. Chris/Jazzmom

        Good morning Louis

I would love a T neck/V neck in the WK fabric in the smoky gray and walnut colors too if you are considering other colors for fall.

        Regards, Chris

      3. enjay

Fabulous idea … fabulous color. I would also love a dark heathered grey, but I’m hoping that one might come sooner – maybe this fall (fingers crossed)?.

  45. Kate

LDO, I took my mom to a Mother’s Day lunch today and she was mesmerized by my fish necklace. Said necklace now belongs to Mom. I, of course, feel very fortunate to have my mother still with me and stealing my jewelry, but sigh…

  46. Chris/Jazzmom

    Hi Louis,

Does the blush pink in the lotus print tank go with the former perfectly pink jacket with pearl buttons? or is this a different pink tone?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Regards,
    Chris

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I think the pink in the print is pale enough that it will work….it really is a blush of pink in the print….it isn’t strong pink at all.

      1. Chris/Jazzmom

        Thank you!

  47. Jane

    Louis,

QVC just sent out a great email featuring some of your feather jersey pieces and the gauze kimono. They look gorgeous! I also see that they are featuring you as a “Legend of Style.” We Linea Ladies know that already but it’s nice to see you featured and honored like this for the wider QVC audience. You are truly a “Legend of Style!”

    Jane

  48. Tylerpoo

Louis , you said the new bamboo pants has a flat front, but does it have elastic on the sides or back like the crepe pant which also had numerical numbers. I would order the same size if these pants are identical in style.

  49. Robert Jones

Do you offer internships to fashion design students?

  50. Pamela in Anchorage

Tie Dye Dress? – Do tell.

  51. Bernadine

Have a quick question for you. Do the new pants in black and bamboo have a flat front or are they pleated?? TIA!

      1. Bernadine

Thanks!! I just wanted to make sure. Both colors will be coming to me in the petite size. Thanks again for bringing these to us in petite sizing.

  52. Yvette

Louis, a question about the fabulous new floral shirts. Is the fit similar to our Kate shirts? I’d like to wear these as shown, with a coordinating WK underneath, but as summer heats up, I’ll just button the shirt and wear alone. I wear an XXS in the Kate, but occasionally need an XS in a Linea blouse, so I thought I’d ask. The very small sizes disappear so fast there’s rarely a chance to reorder in a different size. I think I have to have this one in all three colors!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Yvette, I think we used the body of the Bird print, since the fabric is the same.

      1. Yvette

Great – I have those in my usual XXS. Thanks, Louis! I didn’t want to miss out on these blouses.

  53. Nancy

Hi Louis, I love the new floral print. It reminds me of an old Ralph Lauren shirt I had over 20 years ago. I always regret not having that shirt anymore when the warm weather hits because it always made me smile. Alas, I literally wore it out, so I will be watching the site to get it as soon as it appears. Will it be here for your show in May or will we have to wait until June??
I received the white boho skirt and plan to wear it for Mother’s Day with one of my other linea crinkle shirts – probably the white with gold accessories or the brown one. Have a wonderful weekend. The weather is wonderful in So. California – hope it holds.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Everything I’m previewing will be on one of the May 14th shows…..either the1pm with Jill, or the 7pm with Sandra.

  54. Dariann

    Dear Louis,

Will the new gauze draped cardigan be good for travel?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Dariann…..if you mean the new sweater cardigan….absolutely.

  55. Sukey

Thanks for your classic designs with a modern touch. Us Southern gals might find that your “whisper knit” does not whisper in the hot humid weather (that can start in spring!). Just love a linen or cool cotton fabric with a touch of spandex to keep the wrinkles at bay in a loose knit that breaths….so in fashion too if it looks a little Retro! It’s worth the extra investment to be comfortable. Thank You!

  56. Yvette

Louis, you are so very patient to answer our never-ending questions.; Now here is mine: You mentioned some upcoming pieces that use the same fabric as our phoenix shirts and pants, but I can’t remember WHAT you said these pieces would be, nor can I remember WHEN they would be coming. I should take notes when I read this blog! This fabric is a real winner for summer, and I can’t wait to hear just what you have created for us.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

There will be two new pieces in the same cotton fabrics as the bird print…….a short sleeve shirt and a pair of shorts. They are both done in the same floral print that I used last summer in the long boho skirt and in the same three color combinations. The shirt looks terrific with the skirt.

      1. Yvette

Oh yes! Are we talking about the May 14 show?

  57. Seka

    Hello Louis,

Am very excited about your Feather Jersey Collection. Am compiling my list – once I see all Sneak Peeks will order everything together – at midnight the day of your Shows.

Just received my third package from Linea Lady Loren! Loren does a Fabulous job – just unbelievable – everything is perfectly packed – no problems!

Am still unpacking – but last night washed the Phoenix Print (Tobacco) Pants and Shirt – WOW! Put it in the dryer (low heat) – and not a wrinkle in sight! The fabric is fantastic. Wore this outfit downtown today – and couldn’t believe it – TWO complete strangers gave me compliments on my outfit – and the Print!

Also wore the Coral Curb Link Watch – just beautiful – so comfortable – I leave all the links in – I like my watches to drape!

Will be wearing my Olive (a.k.a. Purple) Ikat Print Skirt and Tunic to a Birthday Party this Saturday – it is Gorgeous!

Still unpacking – and will be doing Reviews over the next few days!

Looking forward to your upcoming Shows!

    Seka.

  58. Sheesh

Hi again, Louis. Will the Smoke Tank work with the Grey Feather Print Skirt? Thanks for checking.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Checked my samples, and they look great together…..didn’t think of that myself……….Clever GIRL!

  59. Victoria 1

    Louis,

The Q has the hip sizing on totally messed up on new pants….showing hips to be smaller than waist sizing? I did ask customer service to check with office so these confusing numbers could be changed, and/or confirmed. I ordered the hemp and the smoke…and just order my regular size I hope it works…I will be furious if these sizes are incorrect and they are sold out!

    1. Chris/Jazzmom

If I may answer, the circumference was not taken, the measurement is the hip from side to side without DOUBLING the number to get the circumference. If you double that click here measurement, you will arrive at the hip circumference.

  60. Chris/Jazzmom

I have one question– do the smoke FJ pants match the smoky gray animal print V neck top? I see that the smoky gray background matches the 3/4 sleeve animal print jacket in that color (A201016) (I would not wear both animal prints together).

DH when he sees me in your clothes asks me: “is that from ‘the guy?'” I tell him, yes Louis designed this!

Thanks in advance for your answer!

Regards from a very wet LI today,
    Chris

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The Smoke FJ looks great with the Gray cheetah print top!……………….I think I like being known as “The Guy”.

  61. Beano

Hi Louis, dear man. Looking forward to the Tuesday shows, but I have a serious question. In view of the problems in Bangladesh, could you tell us a little about your factories in China?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Beano, I have never been to China, so I have never visited the factories, but my Manufacturer, or NYC agent goes there all the time to visit the half dozen factories she works with and has been working with for as long as I have know her. I have seen pictures of some of the factories and they are modern clean facilities. They have housing for the workers bikes so they don’t have to leave them out in the weather, which is very important to them, since few have cars. I have met a few of the factory owners in NYC and they seem to be very nice people. I know my manufacturer has close and long standing relationships with these few mills…..They are definitely not sweat shops….they are high end factories and only manufacture for high end clients………..more than that I couldn’t tell you.

      1. Beano

I am happy not to feel guilty about your wonderful low prices.

  62. Kate

Am I hallucinating or did you tell us there would be a new print in May? Lotus?

  63. Bobbie

    Dear Louis,
Thank you for the fabulous gauze kimono! I would imagine that preparing the “sneak peaks” for your ladies can be a challenge with all that you have to do, but they certainly help us. As has been mentioned before, the pictures on the QVC web site rarely do any garment justice. As sure I can count on that fact, I can also count on your designs to be consistently exquisite, so I knew that the kimono would be perfect for our Texas “seasons,” versatile and would always look chic. I was trying on the black kimono, once it arrived, with both your black slim pants and stone herringbone pants, the stone tank, with black wedge shoes when my husband interrupted the “fashion show.” I had to laugh, because he is so fashion-challenged (and he admits it), but as I was trying different pieces of your jewelry with the ensembles, he said, quite sincerely, “I can tell that outfit is ‘designer.’ It must one of Mr. Dell Olio’s.” And I thought he never listened to a thing I said! Anyway, he asked if it came in other colors, to which I quickly rattled off the other choices. He said, “Happy Mother’s Day! Order one in every color!” Happy me!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

What a man! It appears that you have yourself a good one!!……….lesson learned: we may be silent and most times don’t say much, but we always have an admiring eye.

  64. Barbara C

    Dear Louis,
I love your boho skirts and have several–but I am still looking for the perfect top to wear with them in the summer. I am small in stature and need a top that is a bit more fitted to balance out the fullness of the skirt. I’m thinking of a short sleeved t-shirt with some ruching on the sides, so it has a fitted, but upscale look. The tops I have found in stores just aren’t quite right. Do you have any suggestions–have I overlooked something in your line? I don’t want to do a belted top for summer. Thank you very much.

I also wanted to mention that I have your latest black and white shrugs–they are so flattering–even the back has a beautiful drape that is just perfect.

    Barbara

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Barbara, First, I would suggest the Whisper Knits…..there are two styles avail with short sleeves [scoop neck and V-Neck] and two sleeveless styles, the V-neck and mock neck. There are also the flecked knit tanks in the stone and pale olive which looks great with the black boho and the caramel which looks great with the Mocha Boho. The new cowl neck sleeveless top in the Feather Jersey would also look great with the boho skirts. There is also the reorder cotton/span T-shirt with the fine metallic piping that I just posted as a “sneak peek. It looks perfect with the Boho skirts. I know they are avail in Black, Navy and Espresso and limited in Ivory and Lilac. I’m afraid everything else I would suggest is sold out in xxs and xs

    Louis,
I am just trying to narrow down my purchases, what colors will the caftan top come in?
