    Dear Louis:

I know you’re in PA right now, but I wanted to ask about a jewelry repair.

I have the J284035 Irregular Bead Necklace in gold and love it.
After one wearing, a strand broke and I fixed it myself with dental floss, but after a few more wearings, a second strand has broken. I’m not mistreating them – I wear them to work and have only worn them about 5 times so far.

Since they are sold out and I’m not willing to part with them, I want to have them repaired.

    Is this still the address?

  2. Wild Rose

Hi Louis, What pant was the model wearing with the mushroom sweater this morning? Thank you!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

She was wearing a Linea mushroom pant that is no longer avail, but chino or lighter tan color pants will work well to.

      1. Wild Rose

I actually have the mushroom pants! For some reason I thought those where a different style… I’d love to have other pieces in mushroom to go with the sweater. Thanks so much, and Happy Holidays to you and Jac!

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

That’s good news……..do you have any of the aqua WK sweaters from this springs Fiesta group?

          1. Wild Rose

Yes! I bought the short sleeve v-neck in Aqua to complete the outfit. Love it! (I follow directions very well! haha) Thanks again!

  3. Debbie M.

Merry Christmas Louis and Jac! Safe travels on Friday!

    1. judy

Dear Louis, Hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day. I would like to buy the lapis blue sequin top and skirt but I do not like my arms exposed. Can you suggest what I could wear over it? I have the topper which I love, but it’s too warm for indoors. Thanks a lot.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Judy……The only cardigan that was done in Lapis Blue was the A237402, however, it is completely sold out…..but, it has been reordered for Aug of 2014. The sequin top and skirt has not been reordered…..as of now. Your other choice is the A237410, scoop neck, long sleeve WK sweater in the Lapis Blue which, for now, you can wear with the skirt and the topper. get the sequin top to wear with the cardigan and skirt when it becomes avail. That will give you two completely different outfits to wear with the skirt….plus you can wear the sweater and the cardigan with many other things. That’s my best suggestion. Let me know how it works out. The small is sold out but if you are a small the xs will work too.

        1. judy

Dear Louis, Thanks for taking the time and trouble to answer me about what I could wear to cover my arms with the lapis sequin top and skirt. It just occurred to me, do you think the herringbone scarf would be good or is the fabric wrong for the style of the top? Thanks again. Looking forward to Jan 15th. I want to wish you and Jac a very happy and healthy new year!Judy

          1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Judy. If you mean will the herringbone scarf work with the sequin top….yes the colors work, but it will give a sportier look and it is not a replacement for a cardigan. If you were thinking to use it like a shawl to be worn all evening to cover your arms….it is quite large and would be a lot to deal with all evening. If you wanted to wear it with a solid sweater and your topper, as a scarf, that would work well, …..something you would check with your coat……Use the scarf as an accessory, not a garment.

  4. Cathy in PA

Merry Christmas and Many Thanks for all you do, Jac & Louis! Warmest greetings and hugs to all, including the girls 🙂

  5. Sheesh

Hi, Louis. Merry Christmas to you and Jac. Does the Bordeaux WK Tunic go with the Wine Leggings? Thanks much.

    All the best, Sheesh

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sheesh, you have to give me an A#. I’ve done so many different wines I’m not sure which is which anymore. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

      1. Sheesh

Ooops, sorry, Louis. The WK sweater in Bordeaux is A228341. Does it go with the Wine Leggings, A239321? Thanks much.

        Sheila

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sheesh….I’m now in PA so I can’t check. Hope you can wait until I get home. Do you own any of the other ponte pieces in the wine?

        2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Shelia….home from PA and checked the colors. As I thought before I could get a chance to look….they are definitely different and do not work together. They are close in darkness, but your sweater is more of a brown wine compared o the legging. They are off just enough not to look well together. If the sweater were the BEET RED, like the hooded tunic,I would have said yes. Even though they are totally different they still look good together….the darker wine pant with the brighter wine jacket……………sorry dear Shelia………………..Happy New Year.

          1. Sheesh

Oh, thanks, Louis, no problem. I do have the Wine Ponte Knit Hooded Blazer, A237551. And you know what goes with it, I think, A219799, the Python Print Faux Wrap Top in the Raspberry—check it out and tell me if you concur. I am kicking myself for not getting the Ponte Scopp Neck Tunic in Wine, A237398, as I only got it in the Black and the Navy. Darn, it would have been so fabulous with the Wine Leggings! ARRRGHHHH…..

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Fear not! That top is being reordered…..I think the wine is coming back but until we have the order I won’t 100% commit to which colors. I would make sense o bring the wine back since it sold out first….but you never know.

  6. Bernadine

I too would like to know the fit of these leggings. I ordered all 4 colors in my usual size med. I wear a P10 in your pants. Should I have sized down as I see some of the ladies are doing?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Bernadine….I can tell you Jac wears a size XS and she is wearing the XS tonight and she likes the fit.If you have any of my other leggings, I would say get the same size that you liked before. The top of the legging fits like my last slim fit pull-on Linea Ponte pant that sold out. That’s my best suggestion. Let me know and the other ladies how the size worked out. The legging has a 27 inch inseam which is a shorter legging…..they are slightly above the ankle depending on your height. Jac really likes the length on her and she is very particular about her leggings since she practically lives in them at the gym. She will wear them with socks and boots through the winter, and she thinks they will be perfect right through the spring and early summer with ballet flats, wedges and sandals which is exactly how I picture them……and Jac is 5 foot 10 & 1/2 inches tall. I hope this helps.

  7. Rochelle

    Good Morning!

I see the new leggings are available, without the click here size chart…I seem to remember you talking about them but can’t locate your comments. (No info available in your search with item#) Should we stay with our regular size?

Also would love to know what size Jac would wear in the new hooded Ponte Knit jacket, A239315. I am 5’2″ and an XS in most all of your clothing. I’ve waitlisted XXS but don’t want to miss this piece if XS won’t be too much for my height.

Thanks for your time and attention. You’ve been a great inspiration, a treasure of information and alot of fun this year!

Warm Wishes for the Best of the Holidays and New Year for you and Jac!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Hi Rochelle…..if you have ever gotten any of mu leggings before you should stay with your normal size…..if you are between sizes go for the smaller. Jac wears an xs and she likes the way they fit her. She is also an xs in the hooded zip front tunic which she tried on tonight……she had it on with a light sweater under it, and again she liked the fit………………Happy Holidays

  8. TexasBarb

  15. Connie

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND JAC!!! The “girls” are beautiful. Peace and love in the new year.

  16. Carol Hurley

    Dear Louis,

I am writing this to encourage all of your QVC fans to barrage QVC with emails requesting more easy pay items for your line. They will write you back thanking you for your email and will promise to forward it on. I don’t know if the emails to into a black hole or not, but if enough people write them, who knows? There hasn’t been one whisper knit item on easy pay. We would also love to see more of your shows and TSV’s a bit more often. I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season.

build this amazing site yourself? Please reply back as I’m planning to create my very own website and would
like to know where you got this from or what the

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I designed the web site myself, and had a friend of mine execute it for me.

  18. beano annual 2013

Wow, awesome blog layout! How long have you been blogging for?
you make blogging look easy. The overall look of your web site is great,
    let alone the content!

  19. Barbara C

    Dear Louis,

I purchased your BEET RED ZIP FRONT HOODED CARDIGAN/JACKET, A239315, and really love it. I have the XS which fits perfectly in the shoulders and arms, but I would like it a bit smaller in the mid section. How would you suggest altering this garment without changing the pretty shape–take it in on the sides, or add darts in the back? Thank you very much, and Merry Christmas. ~ Barbara C

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I would suggest you7 ask the person who is going to alter it what they would suggest to achieve the look you want. It can be taken in at the side seam. I’m not sure about the darts, but that might work too

    2. Karen in WA

Just to let everyone know, to cover all sizes, I just received mine in XL in black. Oh wow! Just fab! It is plenty roomey, but in my size It is fitted perfectly for me. I am going back to re-order in the beet red. I have the cadet blue scarf and sweater. I would never have thought of putting those colors together. I am sure this will be a sell out.

  20. NJ Lady

    Hi Louis,
    Happy Holidays.
Received the Jet black beads – they are stunners.
Can you wear single – are they too long?
Just wanted your opinion since you seem to be showing double, tripled, and quadupled

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I think they are a little too long to wear long, but you may want to try wrapping them close around your neck once and then have them hang….1920s look.

  21. Kate

LDO–once upon a time (years ago) you did a luxe sweater with a wide knitted banded neckline that could be worn off the shoulder. Mine is pretty much threadbare (have it in black and in purple). Is this something you might consider reintroducing someday?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kate….I remember the sweater. Wasn’t it in the silk/cashmere blend? I would consider doing the sweater again, but I don’t have my sample anymore. The construction and shape of those types of sweaters is tricky. I don’t really remember how it was done.

      1. Kate

That’s the one. If I can find it, I’ll send it to you via the Q.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

let me see if I have it first…..if not I’ll let you know where to send it.

        2. Louis Dell'Olio

I found the sweater….but that’s no guarantee the buyers will buy it. I will definitely present it.

  22. TourEiffel

Dear Louis — In previous posts you’ve mentioned your collection of tortoiseshell tea caddies. I thought of you today while checking out One Kings Lane. Jeremiah Goodman is offering several at onekingslane.com. You may not feel comfortable buying antiques online. But I thought I’d point them out to you in case you’re interested in adding to your collection! Merry Christmas!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Thank you so much you so much for thinking of me. I usually buy them from a woman in New Canaan CT. who is well know for her English antiques, and she specializes in Tea Caddies and unique boxes, but I will certainly give these a look.

  23. enjay

Hi Louis – I recently bought your ottoman knit pencil skirt in grey and black. What a sleeper! I’m crazy about this little number with turtlenecks/v-necks and boots – so much so that I’m now eyeing the spruce color. I was wondering – does the spruce ottoman skirt “match” the spruce v-neck boucle sweater? I own the sweater in both spruce and walnut, and it’s another favorite.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Enjay…..they are not a match. I looked at them in different lighting, and at first I thought they did match, but the sweater was a little darker which would have been fine. When I looked at them in bright day light the sweater definitely has a slight yellower cast next to the ottoman which is bluer. Some may not mind this difference, but I can not tell you they are a match…….I’m glad to hear your enjoying your black and grey ottoman skirts, and you’re right they are sleepers. That’s why I always say to separate your suits so you wear the jackets and bottoms with other things. The skirt on it’s own is a wonderful solid novelty skirt that looks great with so many other textures and solids…….Happy Holidays!

  24. Kate

LDO, feel free to roll your eyes and shake your head at my audacity here. For several years I’ve been wearing the little black velvet skirt and top that has chiffon sleeves and a little ruffle at the shoulder and I totally adore this outfit. Always feel gorgeous in it and always compliments. For fall/winter/holiday 2014 could you either bring this back in more colors or give us something similar in velvet?

    1. Cathy in PA

Oooh, I’ll second that request, sight unseen! Oh, and thank you for the glorious Malibu sunsets 🙂

  25. Faith Zamek

I have a brand new never worn white crinkle silky trench coat with large clear buttons that I bought from you about 3 years ago from qvc along with so many other things of yours.Still have the tags on the coat and the belt is totally missing.I can’t say what happened as it was in my closet and I have never worn the coat?I am so upset as it it was expensive and I love it.I have a herniated disc for the last two years and have not been going out much so I did not wear the coat until now when I saw the belt was gone.QVC does not have the coat anymore in stock. Can I purchase another belt from you.It is a size small coat but I would even take a medium belt if you could get me one.I will be glad to pay for it.Please let me know.I did not know where to reach you
    Thanks
    Faith Zamek
    Bayside,New York

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Faith, First I’m glad to hear you are feeling better. I have passed your message along to my manufacturer to see if they may have a sample of the coat still in their archives. When I get the chance I will also check my archives in the warehouse to see if I may have this sample. If either of us have it I will gladly send it to you, but I don’t want you to get your hopes up because as you say it’s at least three years old and my manufacturer doesn’t usually keep samples that long [they are donated to womens groups]. I also donate most of my samples too…….I’ll let you know.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Faith……my manufacturer asked if you could give the A number on the label which is the style number. That is the only way they would know if they still have the sample, and that’s not guaranteeing they have the white since it also came in navy.

  26. dee

    Good morning Louis,
I ordered your lovely new hooded ponte zipped jacket in black. I’m one of your petite gals and I’m hoping I can wear this as a casual dress. I ordered the black and sized down one size to make it more fitted. I’ll wear black tights and black suede shoes with it. I’m eyeing up that necklace to go with it! I love your ponte, I have 2 of your hooded jackets, love them!
    Thank you, Dee

p.s. I have a fashion question for you if you don’t mind. I own 2 shirt dresses, black and sapphire blue, cotton with 3/4 or long sleeve. I usually wear them in summer with belt and sandals. Can I winterize them? What style shoes do I wear with them? thats what I’m most confused about. Thank you so much.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear dee……..that is why I decided to start the zipper at the very bottom…..to give my petite ladies the opportunity of wearing it as a dress. I think if your intention is to wear it that way……sizing down is a good idea, and I still think you can wear it as a topper over slim pants or leggings and a shoe boot…………..As for winterizing your cotton shirt dresses, off the top of my head I would day…why not? The easiest way to try is layer the black dress with an an ivory T-neck, black tights and boots…..add a black leather belt……that would be the base…..then you can play with accessories if you want…..scarves, necklaces etc etc…..totally optional. You could even, for example wear the cadet blue posh knit jewel neck sweater under the black dress, again with the tights, maybe black boot….and layer the cadet blue quilted vest and cadet blue Posh Knit scarf……the same with the blue dress. Wear a black T neck or jewel or mock, whatever your comfortable with, black tights and ballet flats, as another option, the black leather belt…or no belt [since I don’t know the style of the dresses I’m flying a little blind]……add your accessories or not. I’m sort of imagining Audrey Hepburn in “Funny Face”……in a Bohemian setting, wearing a shirt belted, black leggings and ballet flats. I really see no reason why you can’t make it work…..even adding a black cardigan or ponte blazer would do the trick. My heather grey acrylic/wool cardigan over the black dress can give it a relaxed casual look. Once you are comfortable that it all works….you can play with color….red under the black…just for an example. As I said……first start with the core pieces and then play with what you own to wear over the dress. Let me know how it works out!

      1. dee

Thank you so much Louis! I never thought of wearing boots with them. I’ll have to get a pair of boots and shoe boots! I’ll let you know how it works.
        You’re the best!

        Dee

  27. Carol Hurley

    Hi Louis,

Several years ago, you had and I purchased a leather 3/4 length coat on QVC. It was black with gold buttons. I LOVE THIS AND STILL WEAR IT ALL OF THE TIME!!! Would you please consider bringing a leather coat back?? Not too fitted please…something wonderfully classic like all of your beautiful clothing….Thank you

  28. Jules

    P.S.
I was able to buy the most beautiful 100% cashmere sports coat, designed by you and made in Italy, for my son on ebay and I cannot even say how truly gorgeous it is. The fabric and cut are just outstanding and my son said he looked like he lost 20lbs when he put it on. Now my grandson wants one too…he is the only other fashion hound in the family and he calls you Louis Dell Linea. lol

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jules……..I remember the coat well. I did a line of menswear for the SYMS chain of womens and mens apparel. Sy Ayms was my neighbor and a dear friend. Unfortunately when he died his heirs closed the business, made a fortune and retired on all that he worked for and built. I am sure that was not what he had hoped would happen. The menswear was all made in Italy in the finest factories, so whatever you paid for it, I can tell you you made a GREAT DEAL!

  29. Jules

Morning Louis 🙂 Do you have pictures of the new hooded tunic that went up this morning? As usual the pictures they have are truly awful and make it very hard to judge anything about the piece. I’m thinking it is similar to the cobalt cowl neck tunic from last year which I truly love but from those pictures can’t really tell. Also wanted to give a big shout out to blinddogs for her most excellent comments that the vast majority of us share!

  30. Candace

Dear Louis: just wanted to let you know that I just had my second meeting in New York for a very important job and wore the black asymmetric jacket and matching pants with a gray cashmere sweater and I looked (and felt) smashing. For the first interview I wore the gray Ottoman jacket with matching skirt and Whisper knit V-neck sweater in violet. If I had paid $1,000 for an outfit at Bergdorfs I couldn’t have looked more elegant and stylish. Clothes make not make the woman, but your clothes do give me great confidence and make me feel fantastic. If I get the position, I’ll definitely owe some of my success to you. Thank you Louis!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Candace……Fingers crossed….yes, maybe the first interview the clothes helped make the right impression……but the call back interview was all YOU!

  31. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

Hi Louis – The new hooded ponte tunic is up for sale on the Q today. Question for you….Does the zipper span the entire length of the garment?

    Susan

  32. blinddogs

    Dear Louis,

After reading some of the foolishness and egocentricity of a few posters on this thread, I will just add: If I ever run into you and Jac in NYC, or elsewhere, I will be wearing one of your many wonderful shades of Linea green, you will recognize my Linea green immediately, and I am certain you will respond– “That must be you, Blinddogs, all in green and smiling because your Linea attire makes you so happy.”

You don’t “owe” anyone anything, be it a hello, a smile or some other personal acknowledgement. Indeed, we all “owe” YOU for being so kind, helpful and accommodating to your customers– and for making our lives so much easier and more beautiful through the genius of your clothes, designs, and your genuine care for your customers. A very happy holiday season to you, Jac and the pups. So when will we see the annual doggie holiday card???– Blinddogs

    1. Debbie M

      BRAVO Blinddogs!

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy……….I can always depend on you to say the right thing…..just at the right time….straight from the heart…..plain and simple….no BS, and it is greatly appreciated. When you say I don’t “owe” anyone anything….I know what you mean, I truly do, but I really don’t feel that way…..I owe all of you a great deal………to say I consider you a friend is an understatement, and I can only pray that someday, somehow I can give you the big hug I am saving just for you. All my love and respect….Louis…………..P.S. The doggie cards are coming….our trip to the west coast put us back a little……………………

      1. Cathy in PA

I’ll just add that we feel we do get a big hug from you and Jac every time we dress up in our lovely Linea garments. The love that went into creating them carries through clearly! Enjoy the holidays 🙂

  33. Mary

    Dear Louis,
With all the beautiful Linea Navy pieces I have now, I’d love to have some nautical jewelry to go with it. I saw a vintage AK piece on ebay of white enamel anchors on gold. Have you ever thought of bringing some of those pieces back?
    Thank you,
    Mary

  34. Dodie Schuetz

Hi Louis. Glad to hear you are enjoying my home state and add my wishes for a wonderful holiday season for you and Jac. I was watching “Scandel” the other night, and was thinking, would you please, please, PLEASE consider doing a collection of Oliva Pope’s ” “wine clothes” ( for want of a better term)? I could see your hand all over her sleek, classic, beautifully tailored outfits that she oh-so-elegantly reclines on her couch in ( while she waits for another crisis-laden phone call)… All the while cradling a beautifully decanted glass of (red) wine… Very Louis DellOlio and Armani (same difference, only you make it affordable, thank you very much). Posh knit would b a must, if not allllllll cashmere! Hope you watch ” Scandal”‘! ( or go on line and check it out…. It’s unbelievable how many blogs are dedicated to her clothes!) Soooooo…. Would you think about it? It’s interesting how many of the coats and jackets r quite reminiscent of your items, especially the collars and button details. Have a wonderful rest-of-your-vacation; am looking forward to December. Dodie

    Louis,
I echo the sentiments of Jules 100%+. You are what ‘class’ is all about. Blessings to you and your family this Thanksgiving.

    rae

  36. Ingrid

Beautifully written Jules. I share your sentiments. Thank you.

  37. Jules

Dear Louis, In this season of Thanksgiving I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your beautiful designs, your endless patience on this blog, the sneak peeks you so generously share with us, your exquisite taste in classy women, yes Jac, that is you, and most of all for the way I feel when I wear your clothes. I have been so fortunate to be a customer since Show One, not even knowing that you had been the brains behind my favorite Ann Klein looks for years. If this were not enough, because of you and Jac, I have made many wonderful friends who share my love of all things Linea. What started out as a common interest has evolved into close personal relationships that I would have never found otherwise. For this and so much more I thank you. I am in awe of the relationship you and Jac seem to have with each other, as well as your adorable puppies and us, your followers. I hope you and Jac have a wonderful Thanksgiving and holiday season filled with boundless blessings. With much affection and gratitude, Jules

Dear Jules….thank you for your Thanksgiving wishes and the sentiments that so many have shared with you. Jac and I are enjoying the rest and the beautiful west coast weather. Looking at the sun rise over the Pacific and thinking of all my dear friends on the east coast who aren’t enjoying the the fine weather we are…….much Love, Louis

  38. TexasBarb

Just wanted to make everyone aware the necklace is now available for purchase.
I can’t wait to get them. The earrings are perfect!

  39. Judy

Hi Louis, can you give us the inseam on the new ponte knit leggings with the wide waist and the length of the new ponte knit hooded zip front tunic. I am looking forward to both pieces. Thank you

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The inseam of the new legging is 27 inches, the maxi skirt is 41 from center back, and the new zip front tunic is 34 inches for the small and 36 inches for the 1X

      1. Judy

Louis, I hope that is a typo or you posted the inseam for the new leggings in petite. Your usual inseam for regular pants is 32 inches. Why 5 inches shorter? I don’t understand unless these are for petites only.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

That is the correct length. These are more of an ankle legging not a slim pant

          1. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

            Hi Louis!
I just measured and 27 inches is 5 inches above my ankle bone. Now – that said – I have seen many a model this season wearing ankle pants that are not hitting their ankle bone and indeed are several inches higher, typically paired with pumps. Is that the look you were intending with these? I can easily make these work with tall boots, but I’m thinking as the weather transitions back towards warm (March – 40’s and 50’s), it might be quite current to wear them a little shorter. Your advice please?

            Thanks – Susan

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Susan….that is exactly the look. When we tried them on the fit model everyone liked them at that length and thinking about going forward into the spring summer months we all felt they worked better with sandals , clogs etc. I brought them home for Jac to try on and she liked the lenght too. She compared them to her new lulu lemons and they were almost exactly the same. Something “new” always needs time to get the eye adjusted to, and then we all wonder what the fuss was about……sort of like having layers hanging longer under jackets. At first no one got it now no one wants to tuck anymore……it’s the right length. With winter boots you can always wear socks above the ankle.

  40. nyc1

I’ve been out of the loop for a couple of weeks due to my Mom’s health. Louis, forgive me if this has been asked previously, but do you have your next series of appearance dates and times (if available)? I thought I saw Dec 27th mentioned.
    Many thanks.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes, Dec 27th at 6am with Pat and Jayne, and then again that evening on PM Style. The next hour shows will be Jan 15th

  41. Cathy in PA

    Dear Louis,

Nothing “urgent” … but do you know by chance the length on the upcoming Tulip Ponte Maxi Skirt? At 5’2″, I usually just shorten, but don’t want to ruin the flare at the bottom, although shortening at the waist might be an option … unless it comes in petite?

By the way, we went traveling this weekend, with a nasty cold, and Linea was the STAR 🙂 Various combinations of Black trousers, the Ruby Peasant sweater, B & W Herringbone Jacket and Ruby Topper carried me from Grandparents’ Day with my grandson (sitting on little rolly-polly mushroom stools LOL) to dinner out at a fabulous Italian restaurant to train watching on Horseshoe Curve to my son-in-law’s cold, windy paramedic graduation ceremony in WARMTH, comfort and style. THANK YOU for making my life so much easier!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

It does not come in petite……it can always be shortened from the waist if you have someone good to do it. It really depends how much you have to shorten it whether it would take off to much flare. The shorter you are the less flair you need.

      1. Cathy in PA

So kind of you to reply … have a wonderful vacation! I do have a good tailor; 2 in fact … I’m sure we can make it work. Before my hands got to be so bad, I would have done the alterations myself. Thanks again.

  42. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Just an FYI here this morning Louis. I mentioned my experience at the QVC blogs and Linea Ladies urged me to report in. I purchased J277865 – the Linea boyfriend watch in tortoise – in June. I loved the look and fit and have worn it at most 10 times since purchase. I planned to wear it more in winter. Friday, while dashing out to a funeral, I reached for the watch which would have gone with my outfit only to find one of the tortoise shell band pieces missing and the entire band falling apart. I have no idea when that piece came loose from the pins which ran through it, but the piece is no where to be found. The watch is of course unwearable. With the tortoise piece missing on one side of the gold center links – the pins from the tortoise piece on the other side of the gold center links just pull right through the entire band with ease and it falls apart. I’m feeling frustrated after may debacle with my two 5-stand glass bead torsade necklaces – J284038 – falling apart upon arrival recently (which I returned) and to lose this watch – an $84.95 purchase w/shipping – was too discouraging. The ladies encouraged me to TRY customer service. I was not hopeful. But when I called, without any questions what-so-ever as to how the breakage might have occurred or what exactly might have happened they immediately authorized me to return the watch for full refund (except shipping I think). Since the watch is now on clearance I feel grateful QVC would be this proactive. I’ve sent it back this morning.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy….the ladies were right in advising you to let me know about the watch. I am glad you are sending it back, and if they had given you trouble I would have wanted to know that also. You are the first one who has reached out to me about the watch and I certainly hope yours was an exception to the rule. The Panther link watch and the crystal watch have received very good reviews, but they were made by a different manufacturer. I will certainly speak with my jewelry licensee about this problem. They do not make the watches, but all business goes through them.

      1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Thanks so much Louis. I do have the panther link watch in goldtone and have had no problems with that one. Am happy to hear it is from a different manufacturer 🙂 Trouble with those reviews is that so many of us write them shortly after receipt of an item and then – as in my case – 5 months later – when something unfortunate happens, they cannot be edited. So the only place to “talk” about a problem would be at the QVC blog or here. Thank you for your kind reply.

  43. GARY BRAUNER

Purchased a beautiful camel men’s jacket 10 years ago; the tops of two unusual leather buttons have popped off. Rather than replacing all my buttons is there a US source for these buttons? I can send you a photo if you give me an attachment address.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Gary….your best bet is to google leather buttons or men’s leather buttons, though leather buttons are usually pretty classic

  44. debby

More new gorgeous necklaces on you post of V neck sweaters -will they be available on QVC – looking at the one on the black v neck that has oblong hematite and another type bead great!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The hematite metal beads with the “root beer” beads is sold out. It was also avail in blue with gold red with gold and I believe there is one avail in the green and gold. The other necklace with the “spice ” beads in different shapes and sizes is coming , I believe, in Feb.

      1. Sherry

Will the Root Beer necklace be reordered soon??? When I ordered mine I was but on the dreaded backorder??? so I also put another on waitlist. The backordered necklace was cancelled within two weeks and the waitlist necklace was given additional time, but was cancelled this last week. I’m so sad…I ordered when it was in stock and waited for so long and now still no necklace…can you give a nudge for them to reorder??? Please!

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I don’t even know if it will be reordered at all. If it is it won’t be until next year

          1. Sherry

            I know…it was just wishful thinking…

          2. Sheesh

Hi, Louis. FYI, my Waitlist order for the Root Beer necklace was cancelled and the QVC email said they would not be getting in any more stock! Bummer…..

  45. DeLois

Louis, I know that you are presenting leggings in December I think. I enjoyed your legging last summer…. a great fit. Here is my question. I would like to know what we should be wearing on our feet and legs in the winter with a legging. I have my opinions, but I want to see if they match your advice ???????

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That totally depend on the outfit you are wear the leggings with…..a simple tunic sweater can go from ballet flats to shoe booties or knee high boots….if it’s a dressier like a velvet top you can even wear a strappy sandal depending where you live or a tea cup pointy toe single sole pump [not a platform] that are very “in” right now…..Uggs for a more casual look. Personally, I do not like the look of high heel pumps with leggings….I know some woman do and some can carry it off like Renee, but most can not. Foe a real casual look leg warmers and jazz shoes like dancers wear looks great, but again….that’s not a look for everyone. You have to test the waters and see what works best for you and what you are comfortable with…..but don’t be afraid to experiment.

  46. NJ Lady

    Hi Louis,
Thanks for showing the new necklaces.
My question is the new necklace is a glass bead?
Is this the same bead from J273583?

Thanks and have a great vacation

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear NJ Lady……they are Beautiful faceted GLASS BEADS………….same family as the J273583.

  47. Joseph

    Dear mr. Dell ‘Olio.

Several years ago, while waiting to go into the theatre to see “Full Gallop”, I saw you outside the theatre, also waiting.
You were alone and, as you had always been a great design inspiration to me, I approached you and said ” hello Mr. Dell’Olio, I just wanted to say hello snd to tell you how much I’ve always loved your work and to say that you’ve inspired me many times in my own career as a designer and well..I just wanted to say ‘thank you'”.
    You looked right at me.
Basically, you sneered at me…like I was a bug or something.
And you turned and walked away without saying a word.
You didn’t even acknowledge that I had just spoken to you, although you looked at me the whole time.
I just wanted you to know how awful that felt for me.
    I have never forgotten it.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Joseph……… I can assure you that whenever anyone comes up to me…. anywhere…. I am more than happy to speak with them. I do not remember this incident and I asked my wife if we saw Full Gallop in NY and she said no we saw it in LA when our friend Brenda Vaccaro was playing the part. I have been a designer critic and mentor at Parsons School of Design for decades and I’m always happy to speak to anyone that approaches me. Since I did not see this play in NYC, you may have confused me with someone else, which happens quite often…..thanks for writing to me and be sure if we should ever happen upon one another I would be more than happy to speak with you…………..sincerely Louis

      1. Goldie76

        Dear Louis,

Is it just good ol’ suspicious me, or do I smell an attempt at character assassination here? Wow, when one achieves some level of fame, anything can happen! We make our idols and love to bring them down.

Whatever this message was about, you handled it like a prince.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I don’t like to think the worst of people and it could have been me……sometimes we are just off our game. I knew I had seen the show, but I also remember seeing it with our dear friend Brenda Vaccaro in the lead….so I had to ask Jac to make sure I wasn’t crazy. She said “of course we saw it in LA….did you forget!!??”. Then I told her about the e-mail. I am sometimes mixed up with someone else and if this Joseph addressed him by my name I could believe him sneering!

          1. Goldie76

Yours is a wonderfully sanguine approach to this, Louis. I appreciate your honesty, too, about sometimes being “off our game.” I, too, try to be polite and accommodating whenever I can, but there are moments when I am not any of those things.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

No one can be “on” all the time…we are all human…………only God is perfect.

        2. There is someone like this Joseph on every corner. :-(. I went to the same high school as Brenda Vacarro! She was a couple of years ahead of me and was, as I remember, friends with my ex. He played the lead in both “Oklahoma” and “Carousel”. My father used to love the restaurant that her father owned at the time. Small world!

          1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Barbara that’s unbelievable! Brenda has spoken often about her parents restaurant in Texas….was is Dallas? Her mother Christine ran the restaurant after her father passed away…..Brenda is one of a kind.

            1. Barbara in Virginia

Yes, it was in Dallas. I can see it in my mind’s eye but can’t for the life of me remember the name. It was over close to Inwood. IF I remember! It was a very upscale, European kind of place and one my father used to take my mother to. And he was friends with Brenda’s father. He was quite a bon vivant and more often than not became friends of the owners of the restaurants he liked. He always told us kids that we weren’t “grown up” enough to go there. But he would take us to another restaurant owned by yet another father of a girl from our high school, The Southern Kitchen. I bet Brenda has also eaten there! Another from our HS and a friend of my ex, Mike Nesmith, also made it big as a member of The Monkees. He was quite a caution in high school!

            2. Barbara in Virginia

Remembered the name. Was Marios’s, and also The Old Warsaw, which is still going in Dallas.

      2. JustMe

Mr. Dell’Olio, What a shame you switched his whole story around. He did NOT say he saw you outside a NYC theatre. Infact, he did not mention a city. I also saw you and your wife in NYC inside the restaurant Orso. You both were seated. I gave you a big smile as we passed by to be seated and you ignored me. Your gracious wife did smile back. I felt too uncomfortable after that to approach you. I felt compelled to write because it happened to me also. Regards, Eva

        1. Sherry

People, this happened so many years ago!!! If you’re still dwelling on this, I feel sorry for you…let it go…don’t sweat the small stuff.

          1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sherry….thank you for you show of support. It never ceases to amaze me how some people are so willing to sling mud. I guess some just find pleasure in making me a villain. It is not my personality nor has it ever been to have consciously been rude to anyone. If something I have done seems rude or uncaring I can only say that it was not intentional. I happen to be a people person, something that I can happily say I inherited from my father….again, I can only apologize to anyone that I may have seemed to have been less than pleasant to. I hope this is accepted in the good spirit which it is intended.

            1. Sherry

I just had to say something. If I took it to heart every time I smiled at someone and they looked away or ignored me…I would be devastated every shopping trip to Wal-Mart, LOL. Unless you’re in their shoes, you have no idea what they are thinking of or concentrating on. Don’t sweat the small stuff, life’s too short. My Grandma loved to say that!

        2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Just me….I did assume the gentleman was talking about NYC, because I was not standing in front of the theater at all. Jac and I saw the show in Calf. And we were in Brenda Vaccaro’s dressing room with her husband well before the show started and we were never in front of the theater. We were escorted to our seats just before the curtain rose. After the show we went back to her dressing room and went out to dinner. I certainly hope I have given you enough information to clear any further questions you may have. As far as not smiling at you……sorry about that…. Quite often when someone smiles at me it doesn’t register until they have passed…. I would have been very happy to have spoken to you if you had come up to me and introduced yourself. As we eat at Orso quite often maybe we will have another occasion to see each other.

          1. Debbie M

Good Grief! Any one else?? How about thinking of the things we are thankful for instead of the negative? There is enough of that on the LF.

If I ever happen to run into you in the city, I will be sure to get in your face and make sure I am acknowledged. LOLOLOL Enjoy the rest of your vacation… Happy Thanksgiving to you and Jac!

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Debbie…….I look forward to that day, and I promise you a big bear hug!

  48. Patti ("Writer with Flair")

Will the Irregular Bead Multi-Strand Necklace (J284035) be coming back? If so, in what colors? I hope so since it got such great reviews.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Patti…………If the buyers decide to reorder this necklace after seeing the returns….it normally takes a year for it to become avail…..that’s the norm.

  49. Beano

You looked smashing in the white scarf. I’m glad I bought it. and a yay hooray for the jet beads at last.

  50. debby

Please ,please have QVC post the necklaces and earings before 4:00 ( before shabat, sundown) tonight -Would love to order all 4 and really don’t want to miss out on them!! Glad to hear that you are well, and going for a well deserved vacation!

  51. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

A239319 – the new novelty yarn cowl neck sweater is now up at QVC. Is there a lot of stretch to this item? I’m thinking about going down one size because the length in my size is a couple of inches too long for my taste. Since they don’t have the “click here” measurements up yet – they better be coming!, I can’t order – depending on the bust size in my plus size. But it might help to hear what you have to say about stretchability in this new novelty yarn.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Wow….I ‘m not due to present that sweater until Dec. 27th. There is lots of stretch to this sweater.

      1. Sherry

I just received an email advertising this sweater….so that’s the reason it’s listed so early…

  52. TexasBarb

    Louis,
Seems like I am always bothering you for pictures but they really help me. I usually buy as much as I can anyway but am now looking at another item just posted today (A239319). I am guessing you will have this novelty yarn cowl neck sweater for tomorrow’s appearance. I am most curious about the peacock since I will definitely get the black and silver.

Thanks for all you do and will be watching in the early morning tomorrow.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear TexasBarb….no I am not showing that sweater. It isn’t due to be aired until my Dec. 27th appearance. I’m surprised they are posting it so early, but I’m glad they are because it’s a wonderful Holiday sweater

  53. Judy

    Hi, Louis!

Is there any chance that A217985 (Long Sleeve V-Neck Tunic Sweater) might reappear next year in either the WK or PK? I’m assuming it won’t be back in its original acrylic/wool. 🙁 This is a fabulous sweater!!!

Thank you and happy T’giving to you and Jac!

    1. Sherry

I agree, loved the style of that sweater, would like to see it reappear in any of the fabrications…I for one am able to wear the acrylic/wool blend, and I usually layer a WK underneath anyway. LOL That sweater looked great belted, with skinny pants and knee high boots. Now that’s my kind of look!!! Oh!!! we need it in cadet blue and walnut so that the vest can be worn over it as well. LOL Just thinking…

  54. TexasBarb

Any chance you csn provide a picture of the new faceted drop bead earrings earrings posted today?

    Thank

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I would if I had the samples, but I don’t have them yet and don’t know when I’m getting them?

      1. TexasBarb

I ordered all of them anyway. I am sure I can’t go wrong with any of your jewelry.

        Thanks again

        1. TexasBarb

The earrings are beautiful and so reasonably priced.I need to order more for stocking stuffers before they are gone!

          1. Louis Dell'Olio

Perfect for stocking stuffers……they are very pretty…not too much to them, but perfect if you want just a little something delicate. They catch the light well so they do have presence.

  55. Kathy

Another vote for the cadet blue in the WK turtlenecks.
    Thanks

  56. Patti ("Writer with Flair")

I was browsing the QVC forums and found the question “What are your favorite clothing lines?” It was no surprise to me that many people said the Linea line was their favorite.

Here is the link in case anyone wants to look at the discussion: http://community.qvc.com/forums/fashion/topic/415358/what-are-your-favorite-clothing-lines.aspx

I thought that this was quite significant set of responses since the favorites included lines at both QVC and regular stores. Yeah, Linea!

  57. Carol

Louis, I just wanted to tell you how much I love the Posh knit cardigans. I have every color. I took some to Europe–they got multiple wearings, went into and out of suitcases and a wayward scramble egg bounced three times down the front of one leaving a trail behind it. I have now laundered them and not only was I able to get the stain out of the camel, but they came out softer than when they arrived in my pyramid of “shame.” I love wearing the cardigans with the turtlenecks. I am putting in a request for the cadet blue, purple haze and pewter in the turtleneck for next year. I love all the colors and wish that the turtleneck was available in each color.

Thanks for the posh knits. I’m totally pill-free and loving the coziness and sophistication of these timeless classics.

    crdlb

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Carol….I’m glad to hear it!!!…..don’t forget to leave your reviews and it wouldn’t hurt to repeat your experience on the QVC fashion forum.

  58. MAKP

Have the Kate shirt in grey on waitlist. Any idea when it will be available?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear MAKP…..the Kate shirt is planned for the Jan 15th show, but since it is a reorder they sometimes release them earlier……so I would say anytime in early Jan. would be a good bet.

  59. NJ Lady

Are you showing anything new this Friday?
When will the necklaces be in?
Glad you & Jaq will be on vacation soon – you deserve it

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear NJ Lady…..I will be showing the Silk/Cashmere cardigan with the other Posh Knit styles and the cotton Bow Blouse which was never aired, so in that respect it is new……….I keep asking the same question about the necklaces ,the companion earring and the new bracelet, but so far I haven’t gotten an answer??????………..I will let you know when I know.

  60. feathers

Hi: I should have added on my other post that I get QVC plus thru Bright House chsnnel 188 in the Farmington, Mi. area. It is a 3=hour delay tape of earlier yhe same day. I’m sure it is carried elsewhere. This might give ssome of your fans to see the entire presentation they might have missed. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

  61. Pamela

    Good Morning Louis!

Happy to hear you & Jac are doing fine – have you purchased a NEW vehicle yet?

Speaking of Whisper Knits, will A233947 (Sleeveless Mock Neck) and A233940 (Vneck Cardi) get reordered in ALL the Fiesta colors (especially the Aqua)? Hope so, both my sisters have these styles on their wishlist & have Spring/Summer birthdays.

Look forward to seeing you on the Q soon! TIA

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Hi Pamela…..yes we bought a new car. My little convertible won’t do well in the winter snow, so into the garage it goes………..The styles you mentioned are all coming back…..but…..in all NEW colors. The Fiesta colors are done, so if there are styles you have been thinking about in the Fiesta colors that are still avail….I wouldn’t wait too long to order because they are not coming back……New colors for the new Spring/Summer collections.

      1. Pamela

Thanks Louis – Just place my order for the Fiesta WK’s. Any chance one of the new colors be Ivory or Optic White? (Actually, I prefer Ivory in Winter & Optic White in Summer.)

Ahhhh, so you decided on a shiny NEW convertible – sounds terrific! Me & Mr.Handsome dream to drive a sporty little RED convertible around your part of the World and New England to visit historical covered bridges & Ol’Stone Mills, especially the ones located “off the beaten’ path – someday? Here’s a link, in case you’re interested – many are relatively close to you.

        http://www.dalejtravis.com/cblist/cblistus.htm

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I think you may have misunderstood or I did……I already have the convertible…..that’s what I have been driving in since my other car was totaled. I’m getting another big SUV that I need for the snowy weather……….Ivory and white will be avail. I had them make it as white as they could get WK. I wouldn’t say it’s optic, but it’s definitely white.

          1. dee

            hooray for White!

            thanks Louis,

            Dee

          2. Pamela

Wonderful that White is one of the upcoming colors – So needed for updating my expanding wardrobe – Many Thanks! “White” will make multiple other Linea Ladies very happy too!

Believe you me, I know my safety factor is in place when driving my SUV during our long Winter months, however the Hummers (H3’s = Tanks) are everywhere & they out weigh little me – LOL! And the Urban Moose walking the streets are a totally different THREAT!!!

            Stay Safe.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

I have to say….it must be fascinating when you have to watch out for roaming moose…..you were talking about the animals weren’t you? We don’t see Hummers very often.

            2. Louis Dell'Olio

We mostly have squirrels and rabbits down here on the water.

      2. gk27

        Hi Louis.

Will any of the new Spring/Summer whisper knits be 26″ in length like the v necks?

        Thank you,
        Gayle

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear gk27……yes some of the styles will be 26 inches long. Of course any style that was reordered and originally was 26 inches will remain 26 inches.

      3. Sherry

Will there be any new styles of WK for spring/summer???

  62. Pat

    Hi Louis,

I love you whisper knits and now your posh knits too! Any chance of either type in a tunic length cardigan?

    Thank you,

    Pat

      1. Sherry

        Yippeee!!!

  63. Mary Kellogg

Louis, not that you are in any way lacking in creativity…but I’ve been pondering this for a while.

Could you make your signature short sleeve tee-shirt in whisper knit, in all the WK colors? The ones I have are such a staple in my wardrobe. I would really like more colors. Even if you just use knit fabric, it’s the style that is so flattering.

    Thank you,

Good Morning Louis! Are there any new Feather Jersey pieces on the horizon? I’m packing my FJ’s now for a Caribbean getaway, so perfect for travel, and would love more pieces.

I hope you and Jac are feeling much better after your ordeal.
