Louis finally cool enough in the evenings on the west coast to wear Whisper-Knit-Open-Front-Cardigan A257376. I have it in Petrol blue, I just had to tell you the design is genius! The front hangs perfectly and the back is flattering too. And, the ribbed sleeves to top it off. 5 stars for this one. The petrol blue color – my new favorite color. Better than turquoise. Ohhh how I hope this color is not one and done. Dare I say it? I like it as much as Linea navy. It’s unexpected — I’m in love.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear CC…I am so glad you liked…no loved the Petrol Blue. I too thought it was an amazing color, but to my surprise it only did fair so I don’t know if I shall repeat it. The styles that came in Petrol are still avail in many sizes.

      1. CC

My husband calls it “talk to me blue” We were in a room full of artist, architects and designers mostly dressed in black and those few adventurous souls in shades of grey. I wore the petro blue sweater and matching tank with butter yellow silk slim pants. So many people came up to us and chatted. He says it’s because the petrol blue is inviting & approachable, therefore he dubbed it “talk to me blue”.

    Good Morning Louis,

Was there EVER a FISH BELT like the necklace? I thought I spied one in the SNEAKS somewhere. If so, it makes sense that Q might go for it, it’s needed for the tunics we now have. What do you think?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I had a few different size fish that I used for belts some were quite large and some like the earring were used as belts too…..they were fabulous. I don’t think they are quite ready for jewelry belts quite yet…..but maybe in the future.

  3. Debra

Dear Louis, is there an active order for the brick ‘re swing coat? If so, May I please have it? Thank you so much!!

    1. Debra

      An active order item number

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

The style number is A257286, and it will be on this Saturday on the Leah Williams Morning Show at 8am

        1. Ann

Could you update your important date tab. AM Style isn’t listed. I don’t want to miss a single appearance. By the way, the jewel print top is sensational!

  4. Lilly in VA

Louis, Just an FYI, I got 2 of your double strand bead necklaces in Chocolate and both necklaces arrived with loose beads. I didn’t even pull them out of the box. I promptly sent them to you manufacturer in RI. I will post back when I get them back. I hope its not to long of a wait. I am traveling to Ireland next month and I wanted to take them with me. And yes, I will be packing both the olive and hunter green WK piece with me.

    1. diane bloch

Lilly- Please let us know how the repair service went. I bought 4 of the necklaces. Only had to get one replacement.
Enjoy the trip and the necklaces.

      1. Lilly in VA

Diane, did you replace them through the manufacturer or through QVC? And if it was through the manufacturer, have you gotten them back?

        1. diane bloch

Lilly- I replaced them through QVC. When I received mine Louis hadn’t posted the info about the manufacturer on his blog. I love these necklaces and just want to know there is a place to get them fixed just in case there is a
problem. When I received mine the chocolate beads were rolling around in the box, but the other three necklaces
were just fine. Please keep us posted and good luck.

  5. Kathy Riley

    Hi Louis,
Can you please tell me if the navy whisper knit turtle neck is the same navy that is offered in the ponte knit pants? Unfortunately the whisper knit pants did not work for me.
I am so excited to see the the boucle swing jacket will offered this week end with Leah. I can’t wait!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kathy….I checked and they are not quite the same. The ponte has a more purple cast where as the WK is greener when you compare them. The WK navy pant is a perfect match.

  6. Birdie

    Louis,

The Shetland yarn is fabulous! Could you please make a turtleneck and beanie/hat?

  7. Carol

Louis, Just had to share with you…my husband and I flew to Nashville this weekend for a special concert on Sat night. When I came out dressed and ready to go, my husband commented on how nice I looked. Wore your super ponte knit pants, crisp white shirt, new Shetland V-neck sweater, and the walnut quilted vest from last year. I received so many compliments on my outfit that day from the flight attendant to hostess at the restaurant, and someone shopping in a store. For evening, I took off the vest and put on the super ponte jacket. My husband loved it, and I was so comfortable all day and night! Thank you for all the wonderful pieces your are bringing us.

Now for my question…any chance you might do that long super ponte jacket and super ponte pants in Walnut and/or Navy?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Carol….I have know idea if it will even get reordered. The petite pant didn’t sell very well and neither did the Taupe in anything, so I don’t have high hopes. I won’t know until next March or April if it’s even a contender. If it is reordered I was thinking Navy or Dark grey like the WK TN. Walnut isn’t bad either, but they will probably only want one one new color and that’s if they reorder.

      1. Writer with Flair (Patti)

Just to let you know, the Ponte Button Front Jacket (A257333) was listed in the outerwear section and not in the “Blazers and Jackets” section.

  8. jmarie

An admittedly unusual question for you, Louis: in fitting a pant, if one has the thigh and bottom opening measurements, is there a way to calculate the calf and/or knee measurement? I suspect there are standard proportions based upon whether the pant is a slim, straight, or wide leg, but I don’t know what it is, nor whether it varies between regular and plus fits.

I usually stick to straight leg as safest, but enjoy a slim fit when it works for me. I usually wear an XL in your skirts/pants, but the measurements on a 1X are so close, that I can wear it if it would make a difference in the knee/calf.

Do you know this, or would your manufacturer or fitter have this info? Thanks. (This Fall is killing my budget, but it’s a nice way to go!)

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear jmarie….I asked the fit team, and as I thought, there are no0 standards. Each individual style is fit on a model and there are no standard measurements….It’s measurements change according to the style of each piece.

      1. jmarie

Must say, I’m really surprised! I thought it would be a math question–and all those math classes I suffered through never seemed to have any practical applications! Thanks for checking.

  9. Damiane Lucas

    Louis,

Just a little note to say a BIG THANK YOU! I am a high school teacher, and I’ve bought ponte knit pants that don’t fit for years. Recently, I discovered your Linea line on QVC. The black pull on pants were sold out, but I was able to buy a pair in grey and brown. I received them recently, and WOW! They are amazing! They truly fit well! I wore the grey pants to work today, and I was able to move and teach without a problem. Your pants are the best I’ve ever purchased.

I used to pay well over $80 for knit pants at leading department stores to wear to work. None fit like yours! I am very pleased, and I can’t wait to buy some more. Please let me know when another shipment arrives at QVC so I can buy a black pair and other colors, too! THANK YOU!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Damiane….it’s a pleasure to hear from you. I am so pleased that my pant worked out for you since good fitting pants are probably the hardest things to find. What subject do you teach? I remember one teacher who always looked so chic and well dressed. Her name was Mrs. Tillman, and she taught biology. I did very well in her class….lol

      1. Damiane Lucas

Thanks for your reply, Louis. I’ve been teaching English in Southern California for 23 years. Every summer, I dash to major department stores trying to stock up on quality, comfortable knit pants that I can wear to work. None of them compare to the pants I recently bought from your Linea line at QVC.

I am very impressed by the clean, lean style; and just as important, the comfort. I can’t wait to buy more Linea pants, but QVC is currently sold out of the small size. I look forward to watching you again, and hopefully, more stock will arrive. Thank you again. I’ve been so pleased that I couldn’t wait to tell you how happy you’ve made me. Truly, I wish I would have discovered your Linea line years ago.

  10. Birdie

    Hi Louis,

Will there be a new shipment of your seamless leggings coming in this year? The smaller sizes are on wait list for all colors.

    Thank you!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      I don’t think so…

  11. Happy Lady

Well, that was short and sweet. Thought for a moment the OTO might sell out and the two of you took that long drive back and forth for nothing. Jac sold the red sweater. Think most of us bought this gorgeous updated cardigan in every color. I have the boy friend cardigan in all colors so buttons sold me. Safe trip home. Thanks.

  12. Tylerpoo

Louis, what color besides hunter green will the jewel neck short sleeve come in? I know you said it won’t be here until Jan. Thanks

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Brick red and stone.

  13. NJ Lady

I need help again with sizing. The OTO assymetrical whisper knit top in medium fit perfectly. Also the animal jackard knit top in Medium was perfect. The new lace jacket didn’t fit in the middle.
I want to order the new whisper knit cardigan. Should I go with the medium or large???

    Thanks for your help.

Also, will the new shetland boyfriend be sized a bit bigger like the sweathers? I can’t wait to purchase because I am on waitlist for the sweaters.

Do you think the animal jacquard knits will be reordered? Missed out on the blue or raspberry
    Thanks again

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Did you read the measurements? It’s difficult for me to comment since I only see the xs which is Jac’s size and fit her perfectly. ENR has a lot of stretch so look at the should measurement and go from there. do you own the boyfriend WK cardi. I would say a med.. The Boyfriend Shetland card is basically the same as the V neck pullover so the women who have it could best give you advise….I still say a med…not a large. I have no idea if the jackets will be reordered it takes 5 months to find out.

  14. Sharon L

Hi. Does the hunter green Shetland boyfriend sweater match the olive swing sweater? Are they both scheduled for your October 27 show?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No they are two different greens.. They should be on the show but who knows?

  15. Sherry

Somewhere I remember you teasing about a Faux Shetland Cardigan still to come…my question is…will there be a new tank to go with, or will it be the new colors of A237404 that we will need to layer with??? thanks again…

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sherry…….When I post the sneak peek all of your questions will be answered.

  16. Happy Lady

I read your information several times because I seem to always miss something. My question is in reference to the Faux something reversible coat (see I did it again, I forgot)coming in November. I was thinking jacket and then realized you have been saying COAT. Can you say what the colors are and what the approximate length will be? I have A229477; thick loop wool blend coat you did in the past and love. That coat is 38+- long. Will the new coat be about that length? I am hoping it will be longer. I have many jackets so I am pleased you are offering another coat. Thank You.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No the new coat is actually shorter….It’s approx 35 inches for the XS. The colors are Stone with Black fur and Black with Black Fur…so with either one you have a black coat.

  17. Ellen

Louis..just wanted to say that your fall collection this year is exquisite! Thank you so very much.

  18. Yoko

Louis you are so delightful and such a tease! Please tell us a tiny bit more about the new suede jacket and the colors. I find I could really use a suede jacket and am thinking this may be perfect. Thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Your wish is my command….I just finished posting the sneak peeks!

      1. Yoko

Thank for the photos and descriptions. It is even better than I had hoped. I look forward to wearing this jacket. I am smiling

  19. Tylerpoo

Louis, what colors will the new WK flare skirt and the new rayon pant comes in. I know you mentioned olive. Thanks

    1. Yvette

Yes Louis, I’d like to second this request. Colors, pretty please!

        1. Sherry

Will the flared skirt in Stone work with the Stove “Shetland” V-neck pullover? Didn’t know if that style would work…

          1. Sherry

AWK!!! hate typos…that’s Stone V-neck pullover.

  20. Writer with Flair (Patti)

I was thrilled to pick up the Hunter Green turtleneck this morning to go with the pants and scarf I recently purchased. I can’t wait to see the swing jacket on Monday and the matching cardigan–whenever it appears.

May I put in a request for Hunter Green and/or olive tights and leggings, if QVC reorders the tights? I purchased the navy tights and the gray leggings. The quality of both is just superb. Thanks you so much for giving us these wonderful items and in plus sizes, too!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Patti….the cardigan will be on PMStyle this Monday night…..as I said ….if the tights sell, I will be able to bring new colors……if not the line will be discontinued.

  21. Pamela

    Dear Louis:

WoW – Those stars truly do line up for the new Olive Lace Print tank
& the Olive Lace Drape front Cardi – they look smashing together!
I adore my Olive cardi with a simple sleeveless LBD for dressy,
but a favorite styling of mine is my skinny camo jeans (with Pale
Pink thrown into the mix) my Perfectly Pink tank (from the 2fer
set) with this cardi to achieve that hard/soft – masc/fem “look”!
Got howls from my hubby’s hockey team 1st time I wore it to a
game – LoL. You never see Lace in Olive anywhere – that’s why I
had to have that cardi for it’s uniqueness.

I’ve styled myself this a.m. much like you did Brenda wearing the
lace tank over a crisp white cotton shirt w/matching jacket & the
Black super ponte legging. Find you expert tailoring @ the
jacket’s waist so flattering – nothing short of ‘genius’! Linea
knits are most fabulous – Thank you Dear Designer.

Gotta run – my lover is treating me to a King Crab omelette & a
    spicy Bloody Mary.

    Chow

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Pamela….it was YOU who asked me about the lace cardi and lace print tank!. Sorry about not giving you the shout out when I sold it, but listen up for a shout out real soon……I do like your style and the way you think about clothes…The olive lace was gorgeous, but I’m afraid there weren’t enough of you who appreciated the specialness and versatility of that piece. It was just as gorgeous in the magenta. The silver was classically beautiful, but we all have our favorites and the olive and magenta, because they were over the top, were mine. I don’t know if you ever got the matching rayon jersey tank, but it has finally!! been reordered and will be avail in Jan…..your husband/lover sounds like a gem….hold tight!

      1. I also have and love the Magenta! I played with the Raspberry WK shawl with it and really like the combo! It is an interesting slightly “off” look that I like. Will the rayon/jersey tank be coming back in Magenta?

      2. Pamela

No worries – Look forward to your next showing. Have always thought outside the box & the triangle too!(That’s just the engineer side of me talkin’). I’ll talk fashion with you any day of the week if ya let me. It’s a wonderful privilege to enjoy your blog and the info for all things Linea.

  22. designista

A238543 textured V-neck tops in Olive and Stone are posted.

    1. Goldie76

I love those tops! I must pace myself for now, so I hope that an olive one lingers behind for me.

  23. designista

A72448 turtlenecks in Hunter Green and Clay are posted.

  24. Pecan Cookie

I’m late to the olive WK party. Will there be any olive WK tops or cardigans for the column of olive color? The WK skirt in olive and stone were posted today but only 3X is left in the WK turtleneck. Thanks, Louis!

    1. Pecan Cookie

Ack! I meant to say it’s just the WK T-neck in OLIVE only available in 3x. All other sizes in olive are gone.

      1. Pecan Cookie

        XO!

  25. nikki

Louis, I just ordered the tanks, waiting patiently for the cardigan. I also was going to order the olive skirt, but I think I remember that the new flippy wk skirt( shown in the black enr cardigan sneak peak) with come in olive also. is that correct? Thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes…both skirts were done in olive. I have too silhouettes because sometimes a pencil skirt looks better with longer tops than an A-line skirt, and visa versa.

  26. Kate

LDO–I’m ordering (all colors) the tanks to go with (all colors) the new cardigan and now realize these tanks are the same ones that you offered last winter paired with the yummy drape front cardigan (A237402). Am I hallucinating or did you say that this cardigan is coming back, this time in black?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No, your mind is still sharp! The cardigan will be coming back. I don’t remember when…oh oh, my memory isn’t as good as yours.

      1. Kate

Guess I’d better make that TWO black tanks then so I have one in reserve when I wear out the other! I wear that drape front cardigan in ivory constantly.

  27. Anonymous

Louis, how does the brick red compare to chili pepper? Can’t wait to order these Monday!
Thanks as always for being so helpful and giving us such gorgeous choices.

    Karla9s

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

They are in the same family, but BR is a little redder.

  28. Waterbaby

    Hi, Louis:
I love the wing collar shirts also, I have the white and pink. As soon as I got them, wore the next day I went back for the blue on medium and it is not even on WL. Has the A reordered these since they are suck a staple? Many thanks for all you do. Fran

  29. DeLois

Louis, the jacket coming in Olive leather with knit sleeves…… will that be a reorder of past jacket or entirely new jacket?????

      1. Kate

October show? Goes with the olive pants? And maybe the new flippy skirt?

Thinking we’re in for a stellar show later this month.

  30. Shari

    Good Morning Louis
I just had to let you know how wonderful the “wing collared blouse” is.
I purchased all three colors and am so happy I did so. I’m thinking about going back and ordering more of the white one, as white seems to get dingy and I NEVER want to be without this beauty of a blouse. The fit is so spot on, the sleeve length is perfection and I can actually button the cuff and bend my arm with ease. Something I haven’t been able to do even in very expensive blouses. The wing collar frames the face so beautifully and with your jewelry–oooo lala !!
The princess seams are perfectly placed and very body enhancing. I simply love the design of this blouse and hope there are more colors added as we go. Would love to see it in black and the taupey-latte color. I will wear these blouses to their death.
    Thankyou for perfection !!!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Shari….I am so happy you love these shirts as much as I do. As much as I love the Kate shirt….it gives a sportier attitude. The wing collar can be both sporty or dressy and there isn’t as much collar to deal with when you pop them up. Jac is on the same wave length as you. She bought, yes bought, one pink, one blue and two white. I have one of each sample to prop the shows with for the models to wear, but she wanted her own. I don’t blame her.

      1. Shari

Well– I’m too late on the second white shirt. They’re all on wait list.
I DID put an order in for the waitlist, hoping that one comes in.
        We’ll see.

  31. Barbara

Don’t think all of my post was submitted. Here it is again.

Do you remember the 100% linen men’s style big shirt in wide open weave done for the Anne Klein collection sometime in the late 1970’s? About 28-30″ long.

I purchased it in camel. It was wonderful to wear over T-shirts. It had substance unlike the soft drapey open weaves of today and about 28 – 29 inches long. Covered the backside. Nothing shorter than that.

Would love to see it reproduced for QVC in black, midnight navy, and denim or marine blue. I think it would look cheap in those fluorescent colors QVC seems to like.

I am willing to pay a higher price for good quality.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Barbara….I really don’t remember this shirt…..40 years ago?….no recollection at all…..sorry

      1. Barbara

        Hi Louis,

Use your fabulous talents. I’m sure you could design something similar using my description. A wide open weave linen men’s shirt with shirt tails, collar, button front, long sleeves with button cuffs.

        Barbara

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Barbara…..the difficulty isn’t the style…..it’s finding a suitable fabric. Not an easy task since the fabrics I used were European.

          1. Barbara

Yes, China stole the fashion industry from Italy. A tragedy in my opinion. Italians simply are the best and you are a reflection of that Italian exceptionalism and talent.

Please keep in mind my suggestion should you encounter a fabric that is similar or might work, but no low quality or cheap looking fabrics, please. Some of the crocheted cotton or cotton/linen yarns and fabrics might work, depending on the pattern, but the particular weave used in the linen Anne Klein shirt was unique. It appeared several threads were loosely twisted together to form one piece of wider yarn, if you will, then woven into an open weave, about 1/8 to 3/8 inch spacing that formed holes in the fabric. It appears the fabric might need to be custom designed and manufactured. A few on QVC claimed they have designed their own fabrics.

I know Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, and Saks Fifth Avenue carried quite a few open weave fabrics used by designers, not exactly that of the Anne Klein big shirt, but encouraged that fabric manufacturers are making them. Of course, these pieces carried high price tags, but we know markups also reflect high-end designer and retailer names. Actually, some of them were not the quality expected for the price from these designers and retailers.

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and fit of your pinstripe pants and at less than $50.00! That quality would sell for $200-$300 in most stores, so I’m encouraged that you eventually could have the shirt I suggest manufactured for a price QVC would accept.

I wouldn’t make this request from anyone else on QVC, or HSN for that matter, since none compare to your timeless, high-end designs and quality.

My only complaint is that QVC doesn’t order enough of your pieces, and in popular sizes, which appears to be small and medium, not large and extra large as they claim, and in popular colors to satisfy the number of buyers.

I continue to write QVC encouraging decisionmakers to give you more time and purchase more of your designs. I suggest more buyers follow suit.

I am checking QVC’s website for your poncho to appear. Must make sure I get one in mulberry. I think it would be perfect with navy, not as exciting as aubergine, but the aubergine leggings are sold out. Would like to see more pieces in that color.

Thank you for offering timeless, high quality, exquisitely designed pieces.

            Barbara

Note: Not sure if the problem is on my end or yours, but having problems with this program not accepting my correspondence. I must submit it several times, during which I receive error messages.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Barbara….your description of the fabric was spot on and I know exactly which one you are speaking of….WOW that was many moons ago. That fabric came from a very well know and very expensive mill in the Como are that specialized in Linen and Linen blends also cotton. I have never come across a fabric even similar to that from the far east or I would have sampled it. It is a very costly and time consuming fabric to produce. I’m always looking for the unusual. I am so hppy you like the pinstripe….it was the quality, weight and feel of the fabric that drew me to it. I had been searching for a long time for just the right one…………..I too have trouble with the CAPTCHA Code when posting answers. Some times it’s very frustrating especially when you have to type the same thing two or three times.

  32. Barbara

I purchased it in camel. It was wonderful to wear over T-shirts. It had substance unlike the soft drapey open weaves of today and about 28 – 29 inches long. Covered the backside. Nothing shorter than that.

Would love to see it reproduced for QVC in black, navy, burgundy, and hunter green. Not into pale or bright colors; although, other buyers like them.

I am willing to pay a higher price for good quality.

  33. Judy

Hi Louis, will you explain the difference in the boyfriend cardigan and the new ENR cardigan, other than the buttons? I love my boyfriend cardigans and I thought they were also ENR. I plan on ordering the black and green in the new one. I own the boyfriend in navy and am wondering how the new ENR navy compares. Please explain we are all wondering. Also can we expect to see more longer tops (bum covering) to wear with our new Linea Body leggings? I know you styled them with the new wing collar shirt but, most of us are not built like your models and have to have longer tops completely covering our backside. Thank you for the beautiful things you bring to us!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Judy…..there is a world of difference between the two….but first the similarities….They are both V-neck , both ENR, both have pockets. The differences are extreme. The measurements I am giving you are “on the body” measurements for an xs, and they are approx.. The Boyfriend cardi [BFC] is 31 inches long the new CLASSIC CARDI [CC] is 28 inches long. The first button of the BFC is 15 1/2 inches from the HPS….the first button for the CC from the HPS is 12 1/2 inches. The BFC has a definite shape while the CC is more straight. When you add up all of these differences….the cardigans are very different. For me the new CC is more universal and will work on more women of all shapes and sizes while the BFC was more specific and may not work for everyone. That is why I have dubbed this CC the ULTIMATE CARDIGAN.

      1. Judy

        Thank you for the explanation.

    2. diane bloch

Judy Thank you for asking this question I was wondering the same thing

  34. Chris/Jazzmom

Is it too early to request that the PK pants come in a new color? I’m going to request olive and wine as the new colors. It seems that the PK pants are my fall and winter uniform here.

Thanks again for all you do.

    Regards,

    Chris

  35. Goldie76

I’ve been converted, Louis. Your T-neck with ribbed detail in sienna arrived today. You might not know it, but I hate T-necks despite having bought many of yours to keep warm and create a column of color.

This new T-neck has a wonderful hand (natch!), flatters the figure, has a super comfortable neck and feels so good on. I love it and waitlisted the black (a shade I typically avoid). I’m amused by the changes that have come over me.

Will there be more colors in our future?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

You know that all depends how well the sweater does and the returns

      1. Goldie76

        I hate rules.

  36. Lyn

Louis, do you have any idea when the Swing Coat will be available to purchase? I bought the Persian Blue Pea Jacket (haven’t received it yet) and the red and the black scarfs. I received the red scarf yesterday, and I just LOVE it! I promptly ordered the black scarf. I have auburn hair and fair skin. I was trying to decide between the black or the navy Swing Coat.

  37. diane bloch

Louis- I’m planning on buying several of your new cardigans/tanks. I want to make sure about the sizing. I notice the new ones are a little shorter than last year’s boyfriend cardigan. I bought the boyfriend in M do you recommend I get the same size in the
new one? Thanks again for all your beautiful designs.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Diane….If you bought the boyfriend cardigan in med. I would recommend the same size for these cardigans.

      1. diane bloch

As always, thank you for taking the time to answer our questions and for all the helpful styling tips.

  38. Lyn

Louis, I purchased the Persian Blue Pea Jacket in size small (my regular size). I want to wear it with a cardigan (not bulky) and turtleneck underneath. Should I have gone up a size, since I want to layer (it gets cold here in the Midwest in wintertime)? I haven’t received the Pea Jacket yet — it just shipped today!

I’m thinking of also getting the Raspberry Pea Jacket; and if you suggest going up a size, I’ll order a medium. Can you tell me if the Raspberry color is similar Aubergine?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Lyn…if your are wearing a WK TN and Cardigan I don’t think you have to go up a size….but if you are thinking of a heavier sweater…then maybe yes. You should look at the difference in the measurements listed. If it’s not too extreme then I think your safe to go up one….but you don’t want it big.

  39. Bobbie

Hi, Louis. I just thought that I would let you know that when my WK scarves arrived, my husband was so excited. He thought I had bought them for him. He wears cashmere scarves with all his jackets and coats, but he loves your new WK scarves best. They are so soft and are long enough for him to tie or knot and tuck into his coats. I’ll need to order more for myself, because I doubt that he will share. My sons and their signficant others will love them, too, as well as my 24 year old granddaughter. I hope the scarves do well and are reordered next year with more colors offered. They are a hit at our house!

  40. Jules/Ciley

ANN KLEIN REVISITED! Louis, I just got my black WK dress and I am stunned, (though I don’t know why), and you continue to knock my sox off Mister! I LOVE this dress! My Mother used to say you can’t make a silk purse from a sow’s ear but that’s only because she never saw this dress of yours. I swear you could put it on any old hog and she’d be instantly transformed into Miss Piggy! Years ago I bought an $800 black dress to wear to a company function and this dress not only reminds me of that one but actually surpasses it on sex appeal! LOVE the ribbing on the cuffs and the waist and I’m one of the ladies who prefers my WK sweaters without the ribbing but on this dress it gives you a perfect hourglass figure. Not just a home run Louis but a GRAND SLAM!!! Can you tell I’m in LOVE? (and I rarely wear a dress) Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!!!
    Jules

  41. DeLois

Louis, I received the black pea coat tody. I must say I did not need a new jacket-coat, but I could not resist seeing this one. It is fabulous and a great fit for my mature figure (which I was a little worried about)….. I will treasure it….. now to my next question. The sleeve length is where my thumb juts out, not at the wrist but a little below. I am thinking that for an outer wear piece I can get by with this. What is your opinion on sleeve length today???

Oh and the white shirt is fab too!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That length is fine for the sleeve, and with black gloves you won’t see where the sleeve ends.

  42. Happy Lady

Now we need turtlenecks (either style) in Raspberry to match our pea jacket. I have the funnel neck and love but a turtleneck would be perfect in this unusual color, especially in cold weather. I have light charcoal colored cashmere pull on wide leg pants and light charcoal heavy silk twill blouse with detachable scarf that looks divine with the Raspberry pea jacket. Gorgeous color. Would you please add to request list. Thanks

    1. jmarie

I’ll second that request for a TN or V-neck in the raspberry! Funnel neck/raglan sleeve is too tricky for me to wear. Plus a TN with a pea coat is just as Nature intended!

  43. Enjay

Louis, I have to tell you how much I love your new pullover v- neck sweater. I think this is a classic Linea piece – and by that I mean a garment with a great classic look, with a bit of an edge – for a terrific price. This garment looks like an old, beloved – and expensive – Shetland sweater. But it’s soft and comfy and perfect. I bought the mauve and then ordered the stone, I’m going to stalk the rest of the colors. I wore the mauve with a charcoal skirt to work in NYC – and was asked where I got the sweater! Love the yarn – please bring more.

  44. Carol

Louis, why did you skip over my question from yesterday and answer all of the others after mine? I just wondered if you as designers have a say as to who the Host and/or Models are for your on air shows?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I did answer yours…..I guess it didn’t go through??? We have absolutely no say in what host we get….There is a host scheduler at QVC. There is no requesting either…you get who you get….except Isaac who always or almost always gets Shawn…..The models are a different story…. I have them book who I want and most have worked with me from the start…..unless someone leaves the Q like Trina who I replaced with Brenda. I also hire an extra model on my own so I have 6 models with Jac. This way I can show more clothes and it makes the model changes in the show a little easier….other wise if I didn’t and Jac wasn’t doing the shows I would only have 4 models. They are very loyal to me and I am very loyal to them…I would never change who I use.

      1. Sheesh

Louis, your models are simply the best—Kate, Brenda, Chantal, Angela, Maria and Jac! Didn’t you have a new blonde on a show a few visits back? She was lovely, too.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes….Annie Jackson……Chantal couldn’t do it so she substituted.

    2. Judy

My question was also passed over and not answered.

      1. Sheesh

Look again, as once Louis answered my question and it showed up way at the top of the page and not under my question and, like, you I though he didn’t answer my question—glitches happen.

      2. Louis Dell'Olio

Judy….if I didn’t answer it I didn’t see it, or as Sheesh said, sometimes they get posted at the top and not under the question? If you haven’t found the answer, please ask again.

  45. NJ Lady

    Hi,
Loved the shows. I waited on the blouse and sweater (usually order in advance) because I wanted to see on the models.
Of course size Medium is sold out on all of them. I ordered the Large to try because they looked form fitting on the ladies.
Being Medium is always the first to go – can’t you order more of that size.
Also, the sweater is of course gone in the medium – so I am on waitlist. Think the large would be too big.

Also, do you think the animal jacquard colors will be reordered since so many sold out???
    Thanks for all you do

    1. Sherry

NJ Lsdy, I too am a size Medium and wish more inventory were ordered…but, it’s not Louis that does the ordering…It’s up to QVC how much inventory they order and in what sizes. I have written to the Q asking for more inventory. but it will take more than one letter to do any good I afraid. They say that the average American woman wears a size Large…but, size Medium is more consistently sold out in more colors across the board than any other size, with size Small a close second.

      1. Sherry

        Sorry NJ Lady…thought I proof read everything…

    2. Judy

NJ Lady, do you not know that Louis has no control how many of each size the buyer of the Q order? He would love to offer talls, more petites, and enough inventory for all of us to get the items we want. I feel your frustration, many of us have written QVC to beg for more inventory especially in size small and medium. They are always the first to sell out.

  46. Sheesh

Louis, the current sate of affairs with the Linea line must be particularly gratifying to you. Just think—two years ago they were showing you the door—no look at you! The new Linea Body line and the jewelry is flourishing.

I was one of the ones in the past that repeatedly asked you to bring us the jewelry you were styling your models with so we could achieve the same look. You said you’d tried repeatedly with the Q, but no dice and you urged us to request it of them. The the jewelry began, and the rest is history—and on-line, only, to boot (with a couple of exceptions).

So now I am going to suggest “reaching for the stars” again. How about a Lines Leather line of handbags. As a business woman, I’ve been giving this some thought on a “starter” collection to see if it flies.

What if the Q allowed you to bring in 1000 pieces for a launch. I’m visualizing starting with the basics in 4 styles, plus a wallet: Slouchy Hobo, Tote, Satchel and Cross Body, plus wallet. In 4 colors: Black, Luggage Tan, Chocolate (or Mahogany) and Grey. Fifty (50) pieces each is 1000 pieces, total. If it goes well (and I know it will) then double the order and add colors like Navy, Red, Green, Ivory. Two collection per year.

Signature Linea hardware, of course. I’m wondering if you could collaborate with Aime Kestenberg, or not? She collaborated with Joan on a Leather Joan Rivers tote that went right to sell out.

Just a thought/suggestion, Louis, to push forward on your ever expanding Linea Line.
What a success story—like a Phoenix rising from the QVC ashes!

I’m already making room for them in my closet(s)!

    Sheila/Sheesh

    1. Sheesh

Oh, and I wanted to add–the Linea Leather should not be an on-line only—we are tired of that—we’d want to see the bags presented and styled withe Linea clothing and jewelry–so a great cross-sell opportunity. And if 1000 pieces is not enough–then 2000(100 each style/color and 400 wallets. This just seems so compelling, so right to me. Do you need a pitch woman—after all, I do negotiate for a living—LOL!

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Keep dreaming my darling…..I don’t see that happening any time soon…..maybe with someone else?…

      1. Sheesh

“A woman’s reach should exceed her grasp, or what’s a dream for?”

      2. Sherry

If not handbags, then maybe leather belts and gloves???

  47. Pamela

    Dear Louis:

Your lurex tights have been posted on the Q. What does Lurex Pattern mean? Any chance of a photo closeup when you get the time?

    TIA

    1. Cathy in PA

FYI all, the Black Lace (all over lace pattern) Tights are also posted for ordering at Q … I second Pamela’s request for more info than Q will provide 🙂

    2. Sheesh

“Lurex Pattern” means that the Q person that entered that into the system once again doesn’t know what they are talking about___LOL!

Jac had them on for one of the shows (I think the Alberti show) and they did a close up and they were just all over Lurex “frosting” for lack of a better word. Stunning—but no “pattern” they way we think of patterns—unless there is another one that Louis has not told us about…….

      Sheila/Sheesh

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

There is only one lurex tight…..no pattern at all….smooth as silk and very subtle.

    3. Louis Dell'Olio

There isn’t any pattern….I’ll post tomorrow or Friday don’t want to post on top of the new cardigan post….They are silk smooth and the lurex yarn is from France. They are very subtle and you will love them…Trust me. There are not Hoochie Mama tights….LOL

  48. Lilly in VA

Hi Louis, Loved the show Monday. I had already ordered everything before the show so I was able to sit back and enjoy. I noticed one of the girls was wearing abergine pumps with the abergine WK sweater, Skirt and your tights. Are the shoes current? Or are they from your closet? I have been trying to find suede shoes to wear with the abergine tights and have not been to successful. When I saw the ones on the model, I thought well I can always look to the master. Thanks in advance.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

They are from the QVC closet and they were dark brown suede pumps. Forget looking for aubergine. I have seen one or two, but they were from designer brands and were a small fortune. I like the dark brown with the aubergine…..black is good too, but the brown is a little softer and not as much as a contrast with the tights.

  49. Carol

Louis, I really enjoyed your blog today describing the behind the scenes of getting ready for your on air shows! I, too, appreciate all of your hard work and for writing these blogs, giving us sneak peaks, and putting the outfits together so beautifully. I set my alarm for 3:50 AM yesterday (we are in CT Zone), so as to be already for your show. Then watched FEW for three hours, did a little housework, and was off to meet my husband for lunch. Told him we had to eat at 11:45 as I had to be home for your 1:00 PM show! Loved all of your new things. Already rec’d the V Neck tunic sweaters in Stone and Heather Gray. Love them…thank you for making these to wear with leggings!!! I have the 3 colors of wing collar blouses, the pea coat, and the pinstripe pants and jacket on the way. I have always wondered and wanted to ask you …do you as designers have any say as to who is your QVC Host and Models for your shows? Looking forward to the Swing Coat…hope it comes along soon!

  50. Elissa

I’m afraid to ask, but was the belt the model wore with your white Wing Collar Shirt an “oldie but goodie” from your stash, or will we be lucky enough to order it in the future?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

It was something I picked up on ebay for peanuts. I check every once in a while to see if there is anything interesting. Sometimes you can really find something good. You just have to check every now and then.

      1. Elissa

I’m always on ebay still searching for Kimono Sleeve Tunic and lined tank from 2009. My favorite “Bring it Back” piece. Sure wish the belt was yours so I could make it mine. You have such excellent taste.

  51. Ellen

Hi Louis. I just (literally) received the black pea jacket, and I love it. It fits beautifully, and is longer than I thought it would be..that is a good thing! I love pea jackets, and would love one in navy…hint hint! No one would possibly think that I paid $99 for this jacket!

Also, love the long v-neck sweater in charcoal. It feels like 100% wool..you cannot tell the difference.

    Now, awaiting the swing jacket.

Thank you, again, for all that you do for us. It is much appreciated.

  52. Judy

I enjoyed the shows yesterday and have to tell you the clothes were exceptional. I had already ordered most everything I wanted so I really got to set back and enjoy everything. I do have a request. I noticed yesterday you styled the new body leggings several times with different tops. They looked wonderful the way you styled them but most of us can’t wear them with shorter tops like the new wing collar shirt. The only new item I can wear them with is the new V-neck boyfriend acrylic sweater. Please can you do some more longer tops that completely cover our backside to wear with our new Linea body leggings. I love them and don’t want to take them off. Between the new V-neck and the poet shirt I am very limited to what I can wear them with. Please give us more tops that completely cover our backside for our new leggings. Most of us have issues and can’t wear them like the models can.

  53. Heather

Louis, would you please consider making some mock neck long sleeve whisper knit sweater for next year?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Heather it’s already sketched…but that doesn’t mean they will select it.

  54. Anonymous

Louis, Did I see leather gloves in Aubergine in your show? Are these tempting sneak peaks for the Linea body line? Are we going to have delicious Linea leather gloves? PS wonderful shows, all looked perfect and the styling was delightful. We so appreciate your hard work and perfectionism, thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes you did….they are at least 14 years old…..from my AK days. Unfortunately I don’t have any gloves in the future.

  55. nikki

Louis, I loved the shows yesterday, waiting for my pea coats to arrive. I had a request, would you consider doing your denim jacket in more fall/winter colors. I love this jacket, the fit the cut and wear it all the time, but as fall is here, I would love to wear the more fall colors and then winter. A red one would be beautiful or whatever other color you can come up with. I love wearing it with my super ponte leggings and loads of other clothes. I am surprised how much use I have gotten out of it. Thank you as always for all my beautiful clothes. Can’t wait for the swing jacket and the v neck cardigan.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nikki….It difficult because they always reorder it for spring and it would look strange to have it in fall colors for April or May. What kind of colors are you thinking?

      1. nikki

red, which could be for spring or fall maybe

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

You have to understand a color like red, in the denim I use, is never a solid intense red.The fabric always dyes with a cross dye effect like denim always does…..so there is that white in there.

          1. nikki

I will leave the color selection upto you since you can see the sample and have an excellent eye for color . THe turquoise and the yellow are quite intense so maybe another color will look good also. I hope we get one in the future

            1. Cathy in PA

Same denim jacket cut and styling, but possibly fall colors in the brushed cotton you used for the black and olive jackets that had zippers at the pockets … just a thought ?

  56. Beryl

    Dear Louis,
As always, your shows were fabulous. But you and Alberti made a spectacular duo. A real class act.

  57. Chris/Jazzmom

Loved the shout out to me this PM!! Due to things going on around here, I finally got to view the DVR’d program later in the evening. I believe I asked about the olive tank with the faux shantung jacket with tie belt in olive. Those two pieces look fabulous together! Thanks again!!

    Regards,
    Chris

  58. Ann

Louis – I loved your show this morning with Alberti. All the clothes were so beautiful and presented so well. I really appreciate all the time and care you take to style everything. I feel like I am at fashion week with a front row seat! You are correct, your clothes last forever. The classics with a twist. I do not know of any other designer who cares so much about his clients. Please know that you are really appreciated. You make it so easy for us to look fashionable everyday. Thanks again – Ann from Philadelphia

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Ann…..your words are very welcome. It’s always nice to hear the hard work is appreciated.

  59. Debra

I did not see any sneak peeks of the swing coat. Louis, could you please post some photos? That is the one I am waiting for! Thank you so much.

    1. Yvette

Debra, Louis posted sneak peeks of the swing coat on Aug. 29. Go to the search box at the upper right corner of this page and type in “swing coat” to see those pics.

  60. Cathy

    Louis,
I’m wondering if the silver and gold palm leaves necklaces will be back in stock on QVC anytime soon…… Thanks !
    Cathy

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      I believe in Dec.or Jan.

  61. Toni Fisher

Louis: Hurray – I have been waiting and waiting for a charcoal grey sweater and I just ordered you V-neck. I have the perfect black top with a crisp white collar that will go perfectly with this sweater. I am so glad grey is THE color, it’ll go with my Dooney grey bag, Isaac grey watch – just love the color. I also ordered your new WK scarf in red. Can’t wait to get it and it’ll be perfect for me out here in New Mexico – snow is beginning to fall in the mountains. Bless you, Jac, and of course, THE GIRLS. toni

  62. Goldie76

Louis, I am wondering if you have given any thought to a Whisper Knit sweater in brick red. That is a gorgeous and flattering shade, and I think it would work successfully with most of us.

Any such plans? Fingers crossed, there are.

    1. Happy Lady

And I a want a true RED jacket. Brick Red in a PJ would work. Something with more fit than a swing and not any shorter than your new PJ. Because I am “fuller” on top, swings make me look like I’m expecting octuplets.

    2. 2E

Goldie76, I believe Brick Red will be one of the colors for A259706, the still-to-come WK ENR V-neck cardigan with signature buttons. Can’t wait for the sneak peek!

      1. Goldie76

For some reason, 2E, I can’t recall this. I remember something about “signature buttons,” but that’s about it. This is good news, though. Thanks so much!

      2. Sherry

Hey 2E, do you have notes of what other colors are coming in the ENR Cardigan? I remember Louis saying it’s the one with the POCKETS…yay!!! So, I have to get at least one…LOL.

        1. Sheesh

I think the ENR Cardigan will be in Hunter, Navy and Brick Red—I think, Black, too. I saw the godfreako pix.

          1. Louis Dell'Olio

            And Ivory too

    3. Louis Dell'Olio

There are 3 coming….the ENR cardigan and a matching tank…..a week from tomorrow on PMStyle ans an ENR jewel neck short sleeve coming in Jan.

      1. Goldie76

Just now saw the jewel-necked brick red WK sweater on my recording of your early morning show. Lovely! Thanks for all the info, Louis.

I thought you and Alberti worked smoothly together.

      2. Sherry

Yippee!!! Sneak peeks are coming soon then…looking forward to it.

  63. Lyn

Louis, are you saying the black, regular length would not be reordered? It sold well, so I would think that would be a reorder. They are great leggings! The petite is too short for me — I need the regular length. I know they have good reviews, so I’m hoping they WILL be reordered.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Lyn…my best answer is…I truly don’t know . I would only be guessing.

  64. Lyn

Hi Louis, will QVC be re-ordering the Super Ponte leggings? I need size small regular length, and would like size small in black, navy and dark brown. This is a very popular legging, and there are no small sizes available, even on wait list!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Lyn….It’s too early to know….it always takes 3 months for the planners to know whether a style will be back for the next year. It certainly won’t be back this year. Reviewing the site for this pant it seems on the Black in the reg. length sold well so I wouldn’t think it would be a reorder, but I’ve been wrong in the past….not too often. It would be a shame because they are really terrific leggings…..even for women who don’t wear leggings.

      1. Diamondscribe

I agree that it’s a shame that women who don’t wear leggings are missing out on these. I’m a 3X and have always steered far away from leggings. Trusting how tasteful your plus size options have been in the past, I bought these super-ponte leggings in both colors in both lengths – and have since been picking up duplicates as budget permits (in between Linea shows, LOL). It is unfortunate that, in this particular instance, QVC paperwork process wouldn’t permit the plus sizes to be entered as a separate item listing and switch the title from “legging” to “slim pant” because that’s what they are in the plus options. They are closer to a slim pant. I think the word “legging” has a certain mental image that plus size buyers have to overcome, i.e. the memory of the first time they tried on a standard store legging! In your leggings, there is still enough “semi-fittedness” (for lack of a better phrase) to be contemporary but still flattering to…uh…more bumptious curves. I have reviewed these pseudo-leggings in an attempt to reassure other plus sizes. I have both jackets also and vote for coffee bean or walnut in this jacket next F/W. Love this fabric! I would love to see another jacket style in this super ponte with a bit of the Audrey Hepburn flair, like the Roma Ponte button-down jacket that came in sweet potato, magenta (?) and olive. I have about worn out those 3 jackets! Thank you for such great fashions that aren’t only wonderful for smaller Linea Ladies, but also translate so thoughtfully for plus size ones.

        1. Shari

          Well said,Diamondscribe,well said!

        2. Sheesh

They can be “leggings” or “slim pants” depending on the size you order. In my Black Petite Medium (normal size for me in pants/bottoms—except WK pants where I can take a Small), they are slim pants but in my Black Petite Small, they are leggings and stretching out much more—I got 2 of each size and I think they will wear like iron and last for years. I just love the way they feel.

  65. DeLois

Louis, I received the Whisper Knit Dress in Olive….. I absolutely love, love, love everything about it. I especially like the natural waist line , the v-neck, the long sleeves, the straight skirt , the length and the endless ways of wearing this classy dress. Thank=you so much……… My only wish is that more people would dress up a bit so I could wear it more often…….Did I hear that there would be a jacket in Olive?????

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear DeLois……there is a suede and knit jacket coming in Oct….I say who cares the way other people dress…..If you have to put on clothes each day why not make them nice clothes. I would much rather see well dressed women everyday than see the way some women dress [men too]. It would make for a much more pleasant world. I have to say that’s an American thing. In Europe the women in general dress nice just for the sake of looking good….no special occasion needed.

    2. Happy Lady

DeLois. I have noticed that people improve the way they dress if you keep showing up looking nice. They start rising to the occasion. I don’t care if I make them feel underdressed. Raises everyone standards and they feel better about themselves. I refuse to go out of the house looking like I don’t care. This is it. Today might be the last day on earth. I want to go looking good!

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Happy Lady….so true! My mother who passed at 97 years young….dressed every day of her life. Not over done, just looked good. She always said what am I saving it for. I also think it’s a generational thing. My parents lived in a retirement community with senior citizens, and every time I visited them I always noticed how well dress all of the women were. That’s the way they always dressed and they weren’t going to stop dressing just because they were retired or older.Quite frankly I don’t understand the way I see many people dressed, women and men. Going to a mall can really hurt the eyes.
