“THE BISQUE STORY CON’T”

………………..To create a “TOTAL LOOK” and a total “COLUMN OF BISQUE COLOR” I have created a new jacket……..an EXQUISITE JACKET in the TRENCH COAT FABRIC, A384508. Ladies, this jacket looks like an $800 jacket you would find in Bergdorf Goodman or Neiman Marcus. The Trench fabric TAILORS so beautifully that every seam looks precise, clean and sharp. The collar has the look of a hand steamed back roll that is only done with custom clothes. The INSEAM POCKET looks invisible. The flap is faux as there is no pocket under it………but………it’s the new FEMININE SILHOUETTE, the shorter length, and FOUR BUTTON DETAIL that makes it fresh and new……There is nothing masculine about this jacket….The jacket looks sculpted without being tight. It is the SUBSTANTIAL fabric that creates this beautiful shape. There are body darts, and princess seams that give form to the body of the jacket. The back has princess seams and a center back seam to give that sculptured shape. The jacket has a classic two piece sleeve. There are no buttons on the sleeve so altering the length is a simple procedure. The jacket has a BEAUTIFUL SHOULDER LINE which is crucial to have a jacket hang correctly….You can see in the photos how beautifully the jacket hangs unbuttoned….There is a slight CUT AWAY BOTTOM on this 26 1/2 inch jacket to the FRONT POINT for the SIZE 4. It gets shorted at the side and in the back….The jacket is fully lined in satin…….I can’t say enough about the shape of the COLLAR and LAPEL…..simply SUPERB………This jacket looks so EXPENSIVE…….especially in BISQUE………It looks very couture…..Lighter color jackets need more care when producing. The sewers must constantly wash their hands and keep the machines dust free…………….To coordinate with the jacket is the matching PENCIL SKIRT in the same trench fabric, A384509. It is a classic pencil skirt, and is approx. 24 inches long. The skirt has a flat waist band in front and back with side elastic sections for stretch. There is a back zip and button on the waist band, [look at the column of photos on the right]. What do you wear on your legs with a Bisque short skirt? That depends what you are wearing the skirt with. For a column of color my nude tights are your best option. If you are mixing the Bisque with black or dark grey than my black tights or smoke tights will be perfect………The last solid BISQUE style is a “NEW” SUPER PONTE KNIT SLIM PANT, A384504 for the reg. and A384505 for the petite. The top of the pant has a contour waist and there are triangular side pieces for shape as my other ponte pants. These pants are NUMERICALLY SIZED. The size 4 has a 6 1/2 inch leg opening………….I have now described all of the SEVEN SOLID BISQUE STYLES…….but let me be PERFECTLY CLEAR. There are three different fabrics in the Bisque color…….the WK…..the Jacket and Pencil skirt fabric and the Super Ponte knit…………NONE OF THE DIFFERENT FABRICS are the exact same color. They are slightly different due to many reasons. Firstly the yarns are different, and take dyes differently, the weaves are different, they are made in different factories in different areas of the country, so the fact that they BLEND as well as they do is a miracle in itself. Of course all styles in individual fabrics will match each other. The jacket and skirt will match, and the WK pieces will match……………..In the months ahead you will see novelty fabrics that will coordinate with BISQUE. There is a marvelous TWEED JACKET in Bisque and Dark Grey [which is another BIG DEAL COLOR]. A beautiful matte satin shirt in a small animal print with scarf will also coordinate……Bisque as you can see is a KEY LINEA COLOR for FALL 2020………I know there are some of you who will say Bisque isn’t my color….it will wash me out……..If you heighten your make colors just a bit this color will work for anyone. Bisque, out of all of my similar colors [alabaster, linen etc.], has a pinker undertone than the others………………This is truly a “DESIGNER GROUP” of clothes that I would have done for Anne Klein……..It is for chic, sophisticated women who want to dress in timeless, modern, clean clothes………no gimmicks……………………PURE CLASS…………….enjoy………………..much Love…………………Louis

“BISQUE & BLACK”

………………….Bisque can also be an accent color to colors like BLACK, NAVY and GREY. Above are just a few ideas of how you can mix BLACK and BISQUE. The Bisque also blends beautifully with the LATTE EMB. skirt which has been reordered and will make a return this fall…..It’s a nice alternative to black with the skirt. The Black Jet and Tan Glitterati necklaces work perfectly with the Bisque…If you already own the BEIGE 72 inch Pearl necklace, J393300, they are a great option with the Bisque too…….If you want to try experimenting with a third color like an orange or turquoise or hot pink TN……Many colors will work….It’s time to play……..What I’m showing above is just the tip, of the iceberg!……Black opaque tights with black suede pumps, shoe boots and boots will take you though the entire season. As an option with the Bisque short skirt you may want to try my NUDE tights or the SMOKE or BLACK SHEER tights when mixing Bisque with black or dark grey…..Also the Lace or Point d’Esprit tights will add glamour and lots of fun to the solids……PLAY, PLAY, PLAY…………………..enjoy…………………much Love………………Louis

“THE BISQUE/GREY FEZ PENDANT # STRAND NECKLACE & TRIPLE BRACELET”

……………………………The BISQUE/GREY jewelry above is simply exquisite! The quality of the metal and the stones is truly superb……Anyone ogling your jewelry will swear you paid double or triple the actual cost. Each bead is special. The beads are a combination of GLASS and RESIN…They all have a translucent quality which makes them look real. Some are marled, some have veining, and some have beautiful shading within the beads all adding up to very special pieces…….The FEZ PENDANT is a shorter necklace that sits and shows perfectly in the neckline of the new jacket. The inspiration for the pendant came from a very old hand made Persian piece. The TRIPLE STRAND necklace has all of the same beads as the Fez pendant so they look incredible worn together. Of course they both stand on their own merits. The longer necklace looks wonderful with all of the WK tops, cardigan, and the new jacket…….I will also be offing a SET OF THREE stretch bracelets made of the same beads. They are three separate bracelets so you can wear one or two or all three at one time. Keeping them separate gives you the opportunity to style them the way you want. Perhaps you would want to mix one or two with your ANNIVERSARY SILVER BANGLE……..All of the Bisque/Grey pieces have two styles of silver ox spacer beads to keep them well coordinated and give each piece extra interest and texture….I like the Silver Ox or Hematite hoops from the Exotic set of four hoops, or the new silver anniversary hoop with these pieces…….Due to the Corona Virus the factories and shipping facilities in China are very short handed so the delivery of these pieces has been delayed. However, they will be avail. at the time when you will start wearing the clothes, and I wanted to show you what jewelry I designed to go with these new apparel pieces…..TAKE NOTE……the jewelry above is all photographed on the new DARK GREY WHISPER KNIT which is a new BIG DEAL COLOR! I will post style numbers when they become avail…………………….enjoy………..much Love………………Louis

“A FUN VISIT!”

………….It was so nice to have the girls come up for the day, sleep over, and stay the next day before they had to go. No one wanted to leave, and I didn’t want them to leave either!…….I have to say it was a brutally hot day, but it was one of the most spectacular looking days I have ever seen and that’s saying a lot. We were supposed to get a horrific rain, lightning and thunderstorm that evening. It never happened….. All day the sky had the most incredible cloud formations of big white billowing clouds, constantly changing, but the sun was always there and the sky was a sparkling blue…….Upon arrival, about 1pm,  after a 3 hour drive from PA, we started with ice cold white wine, and vodka mixed with lemonade and or ice tea….The problem with these drinks is they go down so easily!!!!  I had a lunch ready….lots of finger foods. I got them settled in their bedrooms where I had some surprises waiting for them, and then we went to eat. After lunch we toured the house and grounds. Chantal and Angela had been here before at Christmas time when everything was decorated, but Kate had never been to my house and just loved everything. Of course the girls had never seen the gardens, and outside in the summer was so different from their experience in the winter……About 4pm. Lou came over to take care of Sammy and Lily and he took some videos of us which I have posted. We stayed out side by the water until dinner….it was just so beautiful. The sky was putting on a show, but after TWO…..let me repeat TWO RAINBOWS appeared, we all knew it was Jac who was putting on this spectacular for us, and it was a spectacle……I can’t tell you how every second the sky was changing and how the sun was reflecting off the clouds in a way that they looked lit from within. These lit clouds were in turn reflecting onto the water!..Any moment I expected a space ship to burst out of them…….Very Steven Spielberg!! The girls decided to have a photo shoot. Kate got dressed in a beautiful long flowing print chiffon dress with a halter-ish top with scattered sequins. Chantal and Angela took turns directing and photographing Kate. It was fun to watch from my red rocking chair…..drink in hand…..Then Kate and Angela photographed Chantal and then it was Angela’s turn to be photographed. I must say some of the pics were really incredible and we all gave Angela the award for best photos taken, but it was close. Stupid me was enjoying what was going on so much I missed the opportunity to take candid shots of them! I will have to ask them to send me pics! As it started to get dark we sat on the rockers and the slate steps, Vodkas and wines in hand, and watched the clouds in the distance and the bright moon above. There were lightning streaks in the distant clouds. What a light show! Thank you Jac……. About 9pm we all decided we were hungry enough for my dinner which I cooked!!! Since it was so hot I decided on a cold dinner. I had my three bean salad, cucumber salad, tri colori pasta salad with broccoli, black olives, multi color small tomatoes and tiny mozzarella balls, tossed with a zesty Italian dressing. I also made poached salmon with mayonnaise and dill on the side. Everything was delicious if I say so myself. I think ….no….I know I shocked the girls with my culinary skills…….They were all from Jac’s receipts, but I think I knocked it out of the park. For desert I made my Oreo double chocolate cookie crust cheese cake with fresh whipped cream and cut up strawberries. Chantal made a huge carrot cake with cream cheese frosting….Yummy. The girls had seconds of everything….I was so happy…………….We talked and talked until almost 2am. We know each other for so so long, but we never have the time to really sit and talk. Yes, we had dinners together, but to sit on the floor with our drinks and talk and laugh together, telling lots of stories was really a treat and a closer bonding experience for us all. I wish Jac was there. Jac actually had more opportunity to talk with the girls and get closer to them than I did, so this was a long time coming……Then we all decided it was time to go to bed………not…….Giggling, giggling and laughing filled the house. Kate heard noises and was afraid….the house is over 100 years old….there were going to be noises…..She thought the hissing sound was a snake. She had seen the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun” and mentioned the scene when the snake slithers into Diane Lanes bedroom. So they had to investigate, at 2 in the morning, to see what this sound was. The air conditioner was on but the room wasn’t getting cool….very strange. They discovered all of the windows facing the water were wide open. The white linen curtains were covering them so no one realized they were open. Once they were closed the hissing sound was gone [still don’t really know what that was from?], and everyone went to bed……..The next morning I made a pot of strong coffee, and one by one les femme arrived…I had made a big bowl of mixed fruit salad which was so refreshing and perfect for a hot morning…..They had a great day. We went off on an excursion, got home about 1pm, lingered over lunch, and  then off they went…..happy as clams!….Boy did my house get quiet quick. My girls had such a good time with their auntie Angela, Chantal and Kate that when it was over they looked at me with the expression of….what happened, where is everyone……..They promised the next trip wouldn’t be long from now…….I look forward to seeing them again at Chez Louie!
