I’m taking a POLL!

It seems that QVC is questioning,  with the presence of the Corona Virus, customers may not be interest in purchasing dressier clothes like the sequin pant and a new long sleeve V-neck slightly swing top with a straight hem…..My feeling is this virus isn’t going to last forever, and there will be a time of celebration especially with clothes that are timeless, and will last forever. It’s a fair question. What are your feelings about dressy Holiday clothes?

Absolutely YES to midnight sequins!!!!!! I will be buying two sizes pre-quarantine and post quarantine sizes 🙂

  2. Anderva

I will buy every color, and wear them at home if I have nowhere to go. Love them

  3. Claudine

I also say yes for dressier clothes as I feel your clothing line is perfect to dress up or down. I am currently on the hunt for a job and since your clothes take up a majority of my closet I am sure once I get a job I will look wonderful and your clothes are timeless and last forever !

  4. Louise

SHORT AND SWEET U R THE BEST
AND YES YES TO BUYING HOLIDAY APPAREL
WHAT WOMAN ALIVE DOESNOT LIKE TO FEEL GOOD IN CLOTHES AND HAVE A LITTLE BLING
    YES YES

  5. Carolyn Muse

Dear Louis, I will make my vote short and simple. YES to holiday selections from your line. Thank you, thank you Louis.

  6. Dixie

Hi Everyone- I just want to thank the person who wrote the comments for response No. 25. “Bring on the Roaring Twenties” is priceless and sums up our situations perfectly. It made my day! Yahoo… Dixie

  7. Renee

I am all for dressy holiday clothes. That is why I purchase your clothing because it is timeless and classy. Keep it coming, Louie!

  8. Patricia in Chicago

Are they kidding? I can hardly wait to get out of my tiny apartment and unfurl my feathers! I had already been forming thoughts on how I will be adorning myself more everyday when “this” all eases up. Don’t care what the torn, sloppy class thinks. Over dress will be my new motto.
I have been dreaming of dark navy seguins in some form or another, particularly in PETITE PANTS. There are sequin skirts on QVC as I type this meant for every day wear, why wouldn’t we embrace sequined tops and bottoms to light up the Holiday season? We do, after all, festoon our homes and surroundings with lights. Do they think this virus will snuff that all out? I pray they’ll opt to move forward with your design proposals.

  9. luvitorleaveit

This too shall pass and living in NYC we are going to be partying like it’s 1999…maybe cautiously at first but it’s coming. Yes, yes,yes to the dressier clothes!!!

  10. Grace

I just wanted to add…Carol makes a great point. If QVC decides to go forward with Linea holiday clothing, I hope they order far enough in advance so that we can actually start wearing them in Nov. In years past, holiday clothes/jewelry arrived late. We all realize the challenges with manufacturing in China right now, so fingers crossed they arrive in time to be worn in time. This dark time will pass, and whether it’s safe to be together again or still hunkered down this holiday season, sounds like we’ll all be looking forward to dressing up and getting out of our sweats 😉

  11. justin ann

Dear Louis,, Yes please. I have the black sequin pants. I will be buying the midnight blue sequin pants. They have been on my wish list also. I love the sound of the top also. I wish QVC would please bring in more sizes in 2 and 4 in Linea pants especially. One minute they are there the next minute gone. I also have all of your skirts, and dresses in all materials and designs. I love to look pretty. And at Christmas time I love for my Christmas tree and house to sparkle and light up. And I want to look that way also. Maybe Louis, you should be the first to design a matching sequin face mask. You could even offer them in all the Linea colors. Just a thought. Also, I would have loved to have your Anne Klein dresses you have shown pictures of in the past. That is what I want to look like. I love to feel pretty. Thank you Louis for all you do. It is appreciated.

  12. Lrmuffin

Yes to dressier holiday clothing. Pretty clothing will lift my spirits and let us hope for a time when this virus is defeated, and we can see our friends again.
It will be a welcome diversion to the tragedy I see in NY every day.
    Linda

  13. Jo

    Hi Louis,

I am interested in black sequin pants, but not with wide legs. Missed yours last year. Also, a sequin top to match. Long sleeves that comes over the hips. At least 26 inches long. Not too much of an open neckline.

  14. Cathy in PA

Of course we want dressy holiday clothes. The holidays aren’t going away, though how and where we celebrate with our families may change. I will be wearing Linea velvets, sequins, lace, swing tops and embroidered skirts … and whatever else our dear designer friend dreams up. QVC can answer their own question really; they have the sales records :). And MIDNIGHT BLUE sequins … OOOH, like Sarah, I’ll be dreaming of those tonight! The best part is … LOUIS. Who is always here to show us how to wear those dressy clothes in ways we’d never dream of on our own! That makes these pieces wearable nearly year round in so many many ways; true investment dressing! THANK YOU, Louis.

  15. Melissa W

I definitely am interested in dressier clothes. My lifestyle is rather casual as I’ve said before, I often wear jeans, but nice jeans with fabulous Linea tops, jewelry, etc. However, I look forward to dressing up. I love your special pieces like the embroidered skirts, tuxedo jacket, etc.

I already have your sequin pants but would definitely be interested in the top you’ve described.

  16. Sarah

    Louis and Ladies,
I wanted to let you know that I’ll be dreaming of a midnight blue sequined vneck top tonight.
I have discovered Louis 2 years ago and he has brought me so much joy. Elaine and Ramona do such a fine job on his designs.
They wash and hang dry beautifully. Most of all they bring me joy. I’m off to the dentist tomorrow to repair
a tooth issue that is 6 weeks old. This is our new normal. However we are blessed to have Louis in our lives.I think I’ll wear my turquoise crepe gauze top and white jeans. I’ll feel comfortable and not require any
jewelry more than clip hoops to get me through- although I may wear silver clip grecians to get me through procedure.
My mom came to visit last week and complimented my linea outfits. She asked where I purchased? I said they are my friend Louis’ designs.
I wore non linea today to do yard / garden work but Otherwise I wear linea jewelry and ensembles everyday.
Thanks Louis- like the surprise new tunics, Im sure I can not resist any holiday treasures that you present to us.
But tonight dreaming of midnight blue sequins that mimic the sky tonight….
    Sarah

  17. Alicia Hughes

Bring on the beautiful, timeless, classic clothes! If I never see another pair of sweatpants, jogging pants, or any other clothes that resemble them, I’ll be a happy camper! QVC has been encouraging us to “find our happy”, and the gorgeous Linea clothing certainly makes me happy!

    Sincerely,
    Alicia

  18. Cathy Morton

Count me in on dressy clothes. I’m sure anything that Louis designs will be wonderful!

  19. Noreen

    Dear Louis,
That’s absurd! Women love to dress up, and the holiday season is the perfect scenario for accomplishing that hidden desire (or obvious) for that matter that we all want to be Queen for a Day! Nothing, but nothing, says the holidays like sequins!
Bring on the sparkle, glitz and glamour! Don’t we all need it, especially now! They don’t call me the Glitter Queen for nothing!

  20. Karen in WI

“The Linea Lady does not live in sweatpants!” I absolutely agree! Unless I am gardening or exercising, I am ALWAYS in Linea. I wear your skirts, jewelry and such even when I am staying home. My husband and I have a date every Saturday morning for coffee and in our “at home coffee shop” I wear a Linea skirt or dress and my husband LOVES it. I will absolutely want some new sparkle and femininity for the holidays. I remind myself that every ordinary day when all those I love are well is a special day worth celebrating in small ways such as using the good dishes and dressing up. It makes me feel good.

I also would like the holiday clothes and tights especially in mid-November please!

  21. Rudewarr

As in ALL aspects of life, be it financial, social or fashion, DIVERSITY brings a greater wealth to our lives. For QVC to put “all their eggs in one basket” is not only narrow-minded on their part but extremely poor business modeling. The main consumers at QVC are women. Women like to feel pretty, they like to feel elevated, they want to make themselves look stylish and classy. Casual wear does have it’s place in our lives but not ALL the time. I know I have gotten dressed up to work from home to make myself feel better, to give a sense of normalcy in this chaos. This demanding time for the world will eventually end and I for one will celebrate in my home town of NYC, the epicenter of this catastrophe, not in leggings and a t-shirt but in my Linea wardrobe! This proposal would not only be a disservice to the QVC consumer but to the QVC bottom line.

    Kate

  22. Marta

I am so tired of yoga pants and slouchy tops. I am looking forward to getting dressed up. My husband and I just decided to have a dressed up date night once a week. He’s sick of sweat pants too!
Please let QVC know that we NEED beautiful holiday clothes. I know even if the quarantine continues through November, December and the New Year we will all want to dress up and look great for the the holidays and each other.

  23. Sheesh

Louis, I will most definitely dress up again when this is over—alas, maybe in a bigger size!

  24. Nancu in DC

I vote yes! I would love a midnight blue sequined pant and matching top. I personally prefer higher neckline styles to V neck, but I am in for your dressy designs. People are getting more creative with socializing safely and they are wearing pretty things when they do. I wore your turquoise Jac’s garden blouse on my last zoom call just for me. We all need the uplift of special pieces from you, especially now!

  25. Julie

I would love some sequin pants, but truthfully I was hoping for a top with sequins too. If you can’t do a sequin shell to match the pants, could you add some sequins to the WK? A V-neck elbow sleeve WK with a little bit of sparkle.

Thanks for asking for our input Louis!

  26. Carolyn TX

That’s interesting (Mr LDO’s feedback). I can understand their consideration and time will be the true truth teller – but – the virus will be here (even with vaccine) and folks will not want to continue to live like hermits. If the virus does not re-erupt in a massive way this Fall – come the holidays ladies will still want to be comfortable but pretty and sparkly too. Even a millennial would appreciate your sequin pant with a simple tee shirt for the holiday.

My futuristic guess is. …. comfort plus holiday dressing (that can take many forms it just depends on how it is presented). For myself?? Please bring what ever you have planned because I know it will wonderful, wearable, timeless.

  27. makp

Definitely agree with some dressier clothes for the Fall. Agree with the earlier comment that items need to ship earlier so we have our beauties in time for holiday gatherings.

  28. Dawn

    Hi Louis!

Of course I would purchase dressy clothes from the Linea by Louis Dell’olio line for holiday dressing. I look forward every year for the special designs you bring us in addition to the beautiful jewelry. I only read a few comments and I am in on you bringing us Midnight Blue Sequin Pants. Keep the feminine blouses coming also. You made a velvet top with sheer arms and I missed out on that. I would love to see you bring that top back.

    Dawn

  29. Carol

I just want to add that they need to bring out the holiday clothes so that we can HAVE them home to us by mid-Nov. Every year I’m biting my nails hoping the Linea holiday outfit I ordered arrives before the holiday parties begin. My husband’s office party is always right around the FIRST of DECEMBER. If sales have been slow in the past, it’s because the holiday clothes have been arriving too late.

  30. Goldie76

Pretty things help lift my spirit. Yes, I am mad for the status print, but I am delighted on an even higher level to purchase your tunics when they become available because of all the loss and ugliness that are part of our lives these days. There is no escaping the blackness. Why not have the light that something beautiful can bring our way?

    BRING ON THE FANCIES!

  31. Jan

    Louis-
Is the V neck top you are referring to the solid color Moss Crepe in new colors or a different style? Either way I am definitely interested!!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Jan I’m taking a poll on whether after months in leisure clothes, come Oct, Nove, Dec are you ready for some fun dressy Holiday clothes that can also be worn more casually…..like sequin pants that can be worn with a matching “V NECK SWING TOP’ or a hoodie or a tee or a WK sweater.

  32. Pecan Cookie

I’ll keep it simple since so many have stated it very elegantly… A v-neck swing top? Midnight blue sequin pants?? Gimme! Just the thought brings tons of happiness!

  33. Ann

Louis – We love your dressy clothes. They will be great for holiday but also wonderful for weekend dinner dates with our husbands, friends and family. That v neck has my name all over it. The sooner the better. The Fall will be perfect. I told you I’ve been wearing Linea during quarantine. It makes me feel good and I have time to “play” with my clothes and jewelry. Thanks for including us in the decision making process.

  34. Bobbie

As soon as things open up, and it’s safer to dine out, attend the symphony, and go to parties, we will all want new and special outfits to wear with our new hairstyles! My friends and I have already made plans for holiday parties and dinners! Please pass our thoughts about this to QVC, Louis! After women have been essentially quarantined for months in sweatpants and jeans, once released, we want to be women again! We want some glitz and glamour, some shimmer and shine!

  35. Susan (akaCarlyTwila)

    Hi Louis!
Yes to dressy clothing for the holidays! I dressed up for Easter while quarantining and will continue to do this. I am not spending my life in sweat pants when I have a closet full of your gorgeous designs! That said, I purchased two sizes in the black sequin pants so I would never be without them! I don’t need more but love the idea of a midnight blue pair. These pieces are timeless! I collect them and mix/match from year to year! The best!!!
    Susan

  36. Renee

    Yes,Yes,Yes on Dressy clothes!!!
QVC has got to stop forcing the at leisure
Clothes on us! Enough with Logo, Cuddle duds, Barefoot Dreams, I want to dress up!
And I have now started to Dress up for my one day outing hair, makeup, nails, Jewelry!! It just makes me feel so much better! So YES Louis tell QVC we want Dressy clothes! Even if I’m going to were them at home,I want Dressy clothes

  37. Michelle

    Louis

You can add me to the list of Linea ladies who want dressier options for the holidays (and other special occasions). For many Linea ladies, our “comfort dressing” is Linea clothing and jewelry. What you bring us is elegant, timeless and always makes us feel good. Not everyone wants to wear sweatpants day after day.

    Michelle

  38. Writer with Flair

    Dear Louis,
As the self-proclaimed “Queen of Tasteful Bling” for North Texas, I wholeheartedly support you continuing to bring us dressier clothing. I have the black sequin pants, the sequin shells and skirts (in both red and in blue) from 2013, the faux shantung jacket in Sapphire Blue, the crushed velvet skirt in Dark Forest Green, and both colors (Vivid Blue and Latte) of the gorgeous long embroidered skirt. I would love to see more colors in all those items.

Your line cannot be beat for its quality, fabrics, versatility, and style. Please continue to provide us with more of these investment pieces that cannot be found anywhere else. Also, if possible, bring us more faux suede pieces (especially the slim cut pants, longer trench coats, jackets, skirts, and other items) and faux shantung pieces (pants and skirts to go with our jackets would be nice).

Everything I have mentioned so far can be dressed down to achieve a more casual outfit. The versatility of each piece opens up all kinds of wardrobe possibilities. For example, your new pleated blouse or the ivory and black striped top with some black sequins (A229710) from a few years ago look great with the black sequin pants.

Dressier isn’t just for fancy-smancy events anymore. Bling can be elegant, versatile, fun, and creative. It’s all in how you put your look together. To paraphrase Duke Ellington, “It don’t mean a thing, if you ain’t got that bling!” I second that!

  39. Susan L. Horton

Louis, We all need a little SPARKLE in our lives! ENOUGH with the QVC jeans, sweats, etc.. It’s an insult to women! Susan

  40. Suellen

Absolutely, Louis, add me to the list of Linea Ladies for your dressy/holiday designs. In my opinion, QVC is way off off the mark once again. You completely understand the clothes that your Ladies need, want, and enjoy, and QVC would do far better if they would rely on your judgment instead of their own.

  41. Dixie

This QVC mindset sounds like a poor excuse to save money on dressier clothes. I think they do not know the Linea customer well at all. There will always be people that want to dress up even while being at home. Your loyal customers are ready for some celebrating even if we have to wait awhile. I say, “go for it”! Dixie

  42. Grace

Agree! This too shall pass, and when it does, we’ll want a few fancy clothes to celebrate all the “coming together” events in our lives. I’ve purchased the sequined pants, skirts & tops, plus the tuxedo jacket, and both colors of the new embroidered skirt. A midnight blue sequined pant has been on my wish list, so I’m all in! Please tell QVC to get out of the virus rut and imagine a wonderful future 🙂

  43. Chris/Jazzmom

Yes, for dressy clothing. We won’t be isolated forever! We have a wedding coming up in September out of town.

  44. designista

Of course we want dressier clothes from Louis Del’Olio! Your whole design life going back to Anne Klein has always been about offering a full array of clothing styles including dressy couture, along with the jewelry, shoes and other accessories. This is no time to cut the availability of your creations. Looking at the Lunchtime and Primetime specials everyday, most of the QVC offerings all look the same. We shop at QVC to get the full LDO look from marvelously fitted jackets, cruise wear, and elegant evening wear. There are only a couple of true Designers on QVC that should be offering elegant clothing in their collections, and you are at the top of my list. Rose made a comment about expensive jewelry being offered on QVC, and I had to check it out. I typed in “diamond necklaces” and 62 offerings cam up in the range of $2K to $9K. In the $4K to $9K range there are 24 items available. With jewelry like that, you are going to want dressier clothing. I have your sequin pants, the tuxedo jacket, and the embroidered skirts. After being at home for 8 weeks straight since my last grocery shopping, I need some exciting dressier clothing. Bring on the Roaring Twenties!

  45. CGee

I work at a museum in a big city and we are already getting lots of wedding reservations for this fall and for 2021. Brides, guests, and mothers of the bride/groom will be shopping right now for their outfits. Some day bring back the sequin pencil skirt in gold or bronze? Sequin open jacket in the same (thinking early 80s style). But YES please QVC keep ordering what Louis is designing. I am still buying!

  46. Heidi

Add my name to the list! I missed out on the sequined pants last time and kick myself whenever a dressier event arises – I’d jump on them if available. As so many have eloquently said, this isolation will not last forever and I think people will shop accordingly.

    P.S. More Whisper Knits, too!!

  47. cecelia

Absolutely, count me in. The Linea Lady does not live in sweat pants, QVC needs to understand their customer. They only need to read the reviews and realize you are the most top rated designer on the Q.
QVC is focusing on the present, I would rather be optimistic and look toward the future.

  48. LeefromMinnesota

I’m all for sacrifice when it’s for the common good BUT not for giving up sparkle! We need it in our lives now more than ever before! My husband and I dressed up for Easter even though it was only the two of us at the dining room table (used the good China and crystal too).

  49. Mary in New Jersey

    Good morning, Louis,

I have been a Linea shopper for about 2 years. During this time frame I have purchased about 40 pieces of jewelry for myself and friends. About 45 pieces of clothing during the same period. Each item is exquisite! I would be very disappointed if QVC did not feature Linea for the upcoming seasons. What is QVC thinking? Why are we even having this conversation? Of course we want to have Linea in our closet jewelry boxes, and shopping carts.

    Mary

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Mary….I think you misunderstood the Poll. The question wasn’t if QVC should continue buying Linea. I can guarantee you they are buying the line. The poll was about if you would be interested in buying Holiday clothes come Oct. Nov. I feel that by then you all will want to get out of your sweats and pull-ons and pullovers, and look and feel like women again! To celebrate and look good!!

  50. Elaine

    Good morning Louis,

Count me in for sure along with the other Linea Ladies!!

Of note The Met Fashion exhibit “About Time – Fashion and Duration” is scheduled for October 29th!
Something to look forward to….along with your holiday clothing!

    Thank you for asking, Elaine

  51. Enjay

I have had spring weddings and events rescheduled for late Fall and Winter. It is very short-sighted for QVC to focus only on quarantine clothes!

  52. Joanne C

I have lost weight so your black sequin pants from a few years ago no longer fit. I will absolutely purchase the sequin pants and top. What colors will you do the pants and top in?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I was thinking black of course and midnight blue

  53. Becky T from Tn

    Louis,
    YES. YES. YES!!!
I would like to get a smaller size sequin pants so I am all in! Last time I bought what I could get.
I agree with the thought that QVC is not too aware or their buying audience.
Thank you for asking our opinion and hopefully they will listen

  54. Susan

I think we are all loooking for a time to celebrate health, wellness, and saluting all of our country for the hard work in all walks of life. The idea of dressing up to celebrate at home, our favorite restaurants or destination, is what is keeping us positive. There is NO BETTER way to do this than in one of your beautiful, classic garments. I would be so disappointed if this was not provided by QVC.

  55. Seka

Louis, I always look forward to your dressier items! One of my first Linea purchases was a soft coral pink unstructured Silk Beaded Jacket – it still looks like new – I wear it with Jeans.

The Q has more than enough of the comfy cozy designs.

During this Covid Pandemic – my Family and Friends celebrate holidays – such as Easter and birthdays – on group FaceTime calls – or at-a-distance driveway visits – I always dress up for these events – it just makes me feel better. I mix dressier items with more casual – style and comfortable.

I hope the Q moves forward with your Holiday designs. Sometimes I wonder how well the Q knows their Customers.

  56. Anonymous

I would purchase the sequin pants for the formal nights on a cruise. I’m sorry that I didn’t purchase them earlier. I am always looking for new dressy items. I say QVC keep them coming!

  57. Sallie

Many of us are going to be tired of comfy.”at home” wear come the holidays. I do not buy new wardrobes for each season. So…..if I can’t wear it this holiday season there are many more holidays to come. Louis, I have MANY older items from your Linea line(and a few from Anne Klein) that I still enjoy wearing with pride. They are classics! Your clothing is about the only clothing/jewelry that I buy from QVC any longer. A good number of their other brands have had soaring prices and the quality is just not there. I totally agree with you on sequins and glamor for the holidays!!

  58. Somersault

Boy, is QVC way off base! What better time then now to need something to lift up our spirits! Especially during holiday time. Why wouldn’t anyone want something dressy, feminine to make you feel special after going through quarantine! The last thing I need is “comfy” sweatpants, baggy tops! What can we do, Louis? SHould we start a letter campaign or a campaign on the forum to let QVC know how wrong they are?

I have your sequin pants and your beautiful embroidered skirt which I love and adore! More please! oxoxoxo Cat

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No Cat, I am handling it from my end. I am forwarding all of your responses to them. The more women who answer this poll the better.

  59. Jackie

I buy based on my style preference, not the virus. I bought both the ivory and blue embroidered skirts. I bought the sequin pants. Martha Stewart sold a sequin top and pants and I bought the top. I have many, many Joan Rivers holiday and pastel sequin scarves/shawls and I love each and everyone of them. I bought Bob Mackie’s sequin tank last year and wore it with a jean jacket, a double strand of your faceted glass beads, and heels – a great fancy/casual look. My point is that there are customers who will never buy holiday wear – virus or not- so I say stay the course and bring it on.
After being secluded with the virus, I look to the fall and winter holidays with excitement to either travel or plan get togethers with friends and family. I will be ready to socialize and celebrate the gift of being together. Saying that, I am over 65 and have enough quality formal dressy event pieces for church, parties, and holiday vacations. This year, I want to buy holiday and/or sequin tops, tanks, scarves to pair with a slim/skinny jean pant or jean jacket, giving me a more youthful look option. I need a holiday “in between” look.

  60. Clarika

Yes, please! Something dressy and festive is on my list. I love the sequin pants and am also not a t-shirt and pants type. Like another post, my wardrobe is mainly Linea – classic, classy, tailored. Please continue.

  61. Pam shaw

Now more than ever we need to have access to clothes that can lift our spirits. They should be timeless pieces that are elegant and comfortable like your sequined pants, the sequined sleeveless top you did a few years ago etc. We can’t, and shouldn’t live in sweats. QVC should realize that’s shopping options are limited now.

  62. Sarah

    Louis
I was fortunate to get the sequin pants, the 2 embroidered skirts and the faux velvet skirts over the past couple of years, so Im set on the bottoms.
I would be interested in a sleeved sequin top or a long sleeve dress top to go with sequin pants and the 2 embroidered skirts. I just do not feel that
I have the perfect top for the embroidered skirts yet.
    Sarah

  63. Rose

I have never been a “sweat pants / tee shirt” person. The majority of clothing is from you line. I do not plan on changing my clothing preferences from your style. I will still continue to buy the classics, suede, leather, etc. I am amazed however QVC feels that way, because today under “new” produces coming in they have necklaces in excess of $7,000.00 posted. How does that translate to a more casual life style?

  64. Carol

I want midnight blue sequin pants. Is the swing top sequined, too? I guess I don’t think sequins are as dressy as QVC does.

  65. Pratt

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes 😀 Sequin pant reorder or more colors? Exciting!!
