I did some playing with jewelry last night. The Scythe in Chocolate looks great with the Olive Branch dress & Espresso safari shirt. And the 20th Anniversary necklace is spectacular with the Black dress…the medallion fills in the neckline perfectly. Also the Trapeze necklace is fantastic…I only have the Gold, wish I had bought the Silver too…

  2. julie

Wow Louis, thanks! Wonderful suggestions! And DUH, I never thought about mixing the black & white, love that!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

JULIEJULIEJULIE….what do I tell you all the time!!! PLAYPLAYPLAY….If you play…black and white would be the first thing to try…it’s the most classic.

  3. julie

Louis what do you think of wearing the safari shirt over the moss crepe tank dress (A306344)? I have the Espresso & tried it on over the Olive Branch dress…I think it looks nice, but am not sure how to pull it all together.. they are light & comfortable. I just ordered the Black safari, would that be better? I also have the White, Gray & Bright Coral safaris but I don’t think any of those would work. I also have the Black moss crepe tank dress. Thanks

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Julie….I love that in any of the combinations…..you can belt it with a sporty leather belt or tie it at the waist or just let it hang open and free. The jewelry will make a big difference. For instance with the espresso the J485360 Cowrie necklace or J485280 the chocolate Grecian necklace or the J485284 the gypsy coin necklace would look make the outfit . You just have to play. With the black you may want to try a black patent belt and the black shiny nugget necklace…..these are just suggestions for you to look at for ideas. If your mixing black and white the Black and white Massai would be wonderful!

  4. julie

Yes thanks Pam for mentioning that blouse.. I have the Loden & just purchased the Black. FYI I found this blouse runs a little big so I sized down.

  5. Pam Shaw

    Hi Louis,
Just a note to let you know that today I am wearing your A374709
Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Polyester Satin Button Front Blouse from late 2020 along with white pants and gold shoes with pearl jewelry. I feel so well put together but oh so comfortable! Thank you so much for all of the great fashion you provided us with for so many years. I’m truly at a loss as to where to find clothes that I like now.

P.s. I have the shirt in all 3 colors and would have bought more if they had been available.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Pam I’m so happy you have that shirt….it also looks great under blazers and jackets. I love the black satin shirt under white or ivory jackets. Women who didn’t get this shirt don’t know what their missing…but you’re not one of them….LOL!!!!

      1. Emma

I have the black and buttercream so luxurious! I looking for faux suede jacket in pink if you know someone who wants to sell let me know I have the whole black faux suede suite. Love it!

      2. Marie

        Louis,
I recently purchased one of your white blazers on eBay. After reading your comment about the black satin shirt looking good with such a blazer I checked to see if any of the black satin were still available. I was happy I had the chance to snap one up before they were all gone! Thanks for that advice. I already had gotten the loden, so know it should fit.

    2. Kim S

Thank you Pam for posting! I just ordered the loden. Thank you Louis for the fabric explanation. It wouldn’t occur to me to buy satin, but since all of your fabrics are fabulous I’m taking a chance! Post covid wardrobe is very different and this will fit in perfectly thank you.

If anybody is interested, the Faux Suede Trench coat is marked down to $51 today. I think it was labeled as a lunch time special. I already had the Olive color but when I saw that, I also picked up the Vino this morning. I just checked and as of this writing, it is still at that markdown price. The way they bounce prices up and down, there is no telling when it might change again.

    1. CGee

I bought that Vino coat on sale too! Just picked up the Linea Body tights in Vino/Black which are in all sizes.

      1. Michelle

Add me to this list! When I saw the price — which is almost silly given the quality — I just had to get another one. It was a steal that I couldn’t pass up. At least that’s going to be my story when the package shows up and there are questions about just how many faux suede trench coats I need…Lol!

  7. julie

Does the moss crepe tank dress (A306344) need a slip? I received the black dress yesterday & I love it! I went back & ordered the Olive Branch color. Just wondering if the legs will be see-through, thanks!

    1. Andrea

I am bummed. My black one was supposed to come on Wednesday, but it got damaged in transit and was not delivered. I think the replacement will get here next week. IDK about the slip

      1. julie

That is a bummer Andrea, but at least there is an available one for replacement. I am disappointed because I bought the Samburu shell earrings on March 21st & they are lost in the mail & there are no more available.

        1. Andrea

I received my black one today and love it, but when I went back to order another one in a different color, the page says the item is completely sold out! 🙁

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Absolutely not….if it required a slip of some sort we would have lined it.

      1. julie

Thanks Louis…it was a dumb question but I just wanted to make sure!

    3. Kim S

Julie, I ordered this in black and LOVE IT too! I’m now waiting for the mallard! I’ve never felt fabric like this before, so I’m checking out other items that are still available in this fabric, wow.

  8. CGee

Louis, Is it still possible for you to rustle up a missing belt? A friend liked my Faux Suede Trench Coat so much that she bought one too; hers arrived without the belt and QVC did not provide another. Could you find one for A370421 Loden size 14? Thanks!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

CGee I will ask, but my hopes are not high. Since we are no longer producing clothes and the company is winding down….I would be surprised if the factory who made it has any fabric left….but I’ll check for you….you never know?!

      1. CGee

Louis, That is very kind of you to look into it. Thank you!

  9. Pamela

Hi Louis. Love that you are still sharing with us. Question..do you know if the moss crepe short sleeve top in pink matches the vivid pink blazer? Or if any ladies know? Thanks for everything!!!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No Pamela they do not match…..just the polo WK sweater is a close match

      1. Pamela

Thank you. Have that and love it

      2. Emma

I don’t know what I am going to do without you Louis! Your clothes were made for me, just the right fit. Always got compliments on your fashions. Sad to see you go

  10. Andrea

Louis, did you help a rug designer design the pattern of her outdoor rug? There was a segment on Saturday morning where a vendor of outdoor rugs was saying that she had worked with a former designer of ladies clothes to come up with the pattern in the rug. It probably wasn’t you, but I was just curious.

  11. Bernadette

    Hi Louis,

I’m hoping you can help me with colors. The blue ombré vs. the blueberry ombré… I believe the blue has a linen color at the top but is it more aqua than the blueberry?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Bernadette, I don’t totally recall the Blueberry, but I can tell you the “Blue” is beautiful. The top color is more Alabaster and the blues are very Caribbean with deep navy at the bottom and aqua at the top. The colors shown on the site are very accurate. Frankly I’m surprised this color is still avail. It is one of the prettier combinations.

  12. Bernadette

    Hi Ladies,

I just ran across another Limited Quantity Price item…
    A349652 – Regular Pull-On Full-Length Lace Pants

    😀

  13. Marie

I have not been interested enough to look at QVC for more than a rare minute or two a handful of times in the past few months. I’ve purchased many Linea items online but have not had any interest in watching the channel. A couple of evenings ago, I looked at the options provided for QVC showings via my streaming service. I saw a Dennis Basso show and clicked on that. I did not watch more than a few minutes. Initially I was struck by his comment that it would be his first solo show. So, I watched for a few minutes and it certainly seemed to be just that, a solo show without a host or models. I surmised it was likely from his home because I saw a dog walk through and did look like a home as opposed to a stage setting. It was only him there to describe some of his items, taking the combined role of host and of designer.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Marie….I have not looked at QVC AT ALL. The few times I have clicked over it the product looked boring….The story about Dennis is a first for me. No host or models and he was selling apparel????Or was it a home goods show? “They” must be saving money!!! It doesn’t bode well for Dennis if this was an apparel show.

      1. Marie

        Dear Louis,
Yes, it was an apparel show. The only interest I have remaining in QVC is to pick up the last few things online that I might want from Linea. I’ve certainly purchased quite a few things in the past few months, knowing it is the end. A lot more than I would have allowed myself otherwise. But they will not be getting my money in the future.

    2. Kim S

Marie, QVC has been doing this on the QVC2 channel, no models unless the host does it, and no ‘host’, only the vendor. Dennis is not the only one, Renee and Susan do this with their other ‘helpers’, and they do it with LOGO without Lori, only the helper. As Louis said, probably to save money. I guess it gives us all something to watch when they have a cooking show on the main channel, that’s my guess. Selling clothes is rough business right now so I think Lois has the right idea – DONE!

  14. Sylvia

Louis, I have to share my “find” on ebay! I got a Linea 100% silk jacket with gold sequins and beads. It is light blue and is GORGEOUS! (A70392) It still has the tags on it.

  15. Barbara C.

    Dear Louis,
A few years ago, I purchased several pairs of your panty hose; one in particular had detail going up the back. I couldn’t get them on properly until I finally realized the detail on one of the legs was in the front, not the back! It was so funny that I emailed to tell you my story. You wrote back and said you and Jac laughed about it, too; and you were so very sweet to send me a new pair. How many designers would do that! Another sweet memory is after I donated to Mass General in Jac’s memory, you sent a personally written thank you note; how thoughtful of you.
It may not seem possible to call someone a “friend” when we have never met, but you do hold a special place in my heart—Jac, too, of course! You have shared so many personal stories and educated us about fashion and dressing and I am saddened to know that will change.
Lately, I have enjoyed reading about and seeing photos of your past designs and am sorry I didn’t start buying your clothing earlier. I missed many beautiful pieces.
Thank you so very much for the lovely designs, the advice, and the stories; and sharing your beautiful Jac with us. They say all good things come to an end, and you can rest assured you have been one of the best! I wish you happiness as you move forward and do hope there will continue to be a connection.

  16. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

My granddaughter, who is nearly 5, knows all about you and is completely taken with your designs. When we meet, she eyes me up and down, and says things like, “Ohhhh – pretty! Is that “Louis”?” So cute. I will see her today, so I went closet shopping for her favorite color – any shade of purple. I found A213623, a pale lilac cotton sateen 3/4 sleeve jacket and its matching t-shirt with silver piping. The jacket construction is truly amazing! It is all piped inside, has bound button holes, and real working buttons on the sleeves. I thought the Grecian in silver would look nice and went on a hunt, but somehow this is the one color I did not get in that necklace. I used the iced grey pearls instead. Again I cannot tell you how thankful I am for your blog. The jacket was in one closet, the T in another and I would not have remembered to put them together without the memory refresh here! I so miss seeing a new collection this season, but do love this historical help! ❤️

  17. Enjay

Ladies, the moss crepe tank dress is available in black, in all sizes – for $18! It’s a fantastic tank dress on its own and if you bought the new moss crepe ruffled cardi, this is a “ must have” at a ridiculous price! The item number is A306344.

    1. julie

Enjay thanks.. I just picked up a black, think it will look cute with a little jean jacket that I have!

      1. Enjay

I agree, Julie! I did the same thing.

    2. Andrea

Thanks. I wonder what the petite item # is (I think I saw it in petite). Also, did you notice that there is a Linea show at 2 am on the 20th?

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

No Andrea. I’m not notified of these inventory shows. I have zero to do with them. The “stylists” accessorize and put the outfits together for the shows, and the Model Operations Group select the models

      2. Pattyow

        Pattyow
Did anyone help with petite number ? Would love to know what it is
        Thank you

        1. Andrea

The item number for petites is A306409, but the petites are sold out.

    3. Kim S

Enjay, thank you, I ordered 2! The blue and the black, terrific savings.

    4. Andrea

QVC just gave me a five dollar credit in my account for friends and family month that has to be used today. I bought this dress in black, I guess it will be a maxi dress on me! I think they did the five dollar credit for everyone. So, it might be a good time to treat yourself to this dress or some linea jewelry!

  18. Andrea

Hi Louis. I am going to order A349650 (tank top) in boysenberry. I don’t have any other boysenberry items. What other Linea colors would this work well with?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Andrea, think of Boysenberry as any other wine type of color. It will look good with white, all tan colors from Alabaster to chino….olive dill, and sage, navy, charcoal grey.I would stay away from bright coloirs as Boysenberry is some what muted.

    2. Bernadette

      Hi Ladies,

I just ran across another Limited Quantity Price item…

      A349652 – Regular Pull-On Full-Length Lace Pants

  19. Rebecca

Dearest Louis – I just discovered your relationship with QVC has ended. Late to the party, I know, but I haven’t been shopping for clothing in the past few years. Louis, I must take a moment to convey to you the impact you’ve had on me. I have worked in health care my whole life and wore scrubs most of those years. In 2012 I finished my masters degree and moved into an administrative role that demanded professional clothing. That is when I “found” you. My first purchase was the TSV peplum ponte blazer in purple!!! I actually wore that to an interview and felt comfortable, confident, and polished. I actually received many compliments to boot!! I just couldn’t believe how well it fit my plus-sized body. I quickly purchased that specific jacket in other colors, and began my love affair with Linea. Now, not all your designs were my taste (of course) but wow!!! The things I bought and still enjoy. Your malachite color is my all-time favorite – it is perfection. A few years ago I left administration and went back into a clinic role that requires scrubs/sneakers every day, so I basically stopped purchasing clothing other than an odd piece here and there. But YOU got me through a situation (learning to dress professionally) that I wasn’t confident with and I will forever hold you in my heart. Through the years you’ve demonstrated what a fine man you are and have taught so many of us so much! THANK YOU sincerely for sharing your art with us, and for caring so much. You are a true, one of a kind gem and it’s important to me that you know how you’ve really impacted me and countless others. Thank you, thank you, thank you. God Bless.

  20. Bernadette

Does anyone know the secret to getting ALL the Limited Quantity Price items to appear?

    Thank you in advance!
    Bernadette

    1. Seyma

Bernadette, describe the item on this site and ask for the QVC A number. Louis or one of the Ladies will respond, then you can search for the item at the Q. When you get to the Q scroll down to the reviews and look at the date of the first review. Then come back to this site, tap Ask Louis, scroll down to archives, find the year and the month. Look for the item and you will find a fabulous tutorial from the Master himself on how to fashion the item you are going to purchase. The process never fails to put a smile on my face.

    2. Seyma

Bernadette, when you come back to this site tap on From Louis not Ask Louis.

      1. Bernadette

Thank you Seyma but I’m looking for key words to put into QVC’s site to pull all of those items. If you scroll down a bit I have a post with the item numbers if a few I have stumbled across but the are not in the typical search for Louis’ clothing/jewelry. IE: Linea, Blowout clearance, etc. I feel as though there maybe a few key words I’m missing. I have tried all combinations of Limited Quantity Price. And I don’t have a particular item in mind but I would like to see what items are under that particular category.

        Thank you for the help,
        Bernadette

    3. Marie

      Try searching “Linea Clearance”

      1. Bernadette

Thank you Marie. It only brought up clearance items. The items I’m referring to actually real Limited Quantity Price. I tried Linea Limited and nada. Oh well. QVCs loss. They will have those items forever until they release them to those of us who want to purchase. After Linea is gone I will bid adieu to QVC. The quality has gone out the door.

        1. Nan

I think Limited Quantity is a holding category where items go before they are sold off in bulk. Some may go to sites like Zulilly which is in the QVC group. I first saw limited quantity when items on my wish list moved there.

          1. Nan

Don’t count on items you want staying in the Limited Quantity category for very long … they suddenly dissappear.

            1. Nan

And I suspect what happened with all the recent order shipping delays is that because those items were packed up for bulk sale liquidation processing for shipment took longer.

  21. Carol

Now that I am fully vaccinated and heading out into the world again, I finally getting to wear all my Fall 2020 Linea purchases. Yesterday at the dentist’s office, I was wearing the black/bisque hoody (with the faux suede black pants) and the young ladies who are in the front office could not stop admiring it. These were girls in their 20’s. I could have sold it off my back to any one of them. I think there is a market for upscale sportswear, even among the younger generations. They just aren’t QVC shoppers.

  22. Janet

Louis, after reading through questions and comments from your customers, one of my worst fears has been confirmed. You’ll no longer be bringing clothes to QVC. I was saddened after you made the decision to make personal appearances on shows, but I understood. I loved your comments and perspective on fashion and how women should dress.
I recently received your blazer, A343162 in navy. When I opened the package I was sooo pleased with the quality and the fit. It looks high end. It’s exactly what I’ve come to appreciate and expect from your clothes and jewelry. I’ll order another blazer in Vivid Pink or Carmel. A good blazer is timeless! Actually I’m going to splurge and order several items.
I’ve long thought clothes are too casual. Sadly, some people are casually sloppy…my opinion. I live in Cali…I see a lot! The pandemic hit and we were at home with no reason to dress anything other than comfortable. I do believe when the pandemic is completely done, the pendulum will swing back to women will want to look fashionable again.
You’re the absolute best! God’s richest and best to you.

  23. Mary

Louis, I so miss you on QVC!

Q: My favorite color from your line is bisque, and I am picking up as many pieces I can. Will you be bringing forward any previous or new pieces in that color — in particular, I am seeking the recent-TSV whisper knit cardigan. Crossing my fingers!

  24. Nancy (AKA The Owl)

Louis, Is QVC going into larger sizes? Lately , while shopping all things left in Linea, I’ve seen sizes at QVC go up as high as a 5x in some brands. Is this just anecdotal or will vendors have to produce a wider range of sizes? Also for a long time those of us who were then wearing 1, 2, or 3x sizes knew exactly what models could be relied on to show those sizes to good effect. Could just be me but it sure seems like there has been a big rise in plus size models at the Q and wondering if they are aggressively moving in that direction. I always liked that while I was a plus size woman the Q was not charging more for those sizes.l and of course you ALWAYS styled for the presentations to be so appealing to all sizes. Now that I am down to a size 16 and leaving QVC forever after your leaving, l was just wondering where this company is going , though you may not have insider info on that. After losing over 110 pounds and keeping it off almost a year, I find I cannot make a decision about whether an item MAY fit me by looking at the plus size models in those clothes. I’m sure this is my fault and I mean that. For SO long I was always hoping for Maria to model something I was considering or the red haired model – was it Rebecca? – to get asked to model. Now I have a reverse problem. I show my husband pictures of a Linea item being modeled by a larger sized model and neither of us like the look, for me. Thank goodness for the “click here” measurements so at least I can make a semi educated guess as to what will fit me. I am 75 and hate playing these games! I too am thankful you got out while you could because we think we see this company galloping off in a new direction not good for me, my personal tastes and my personal challenges. Thoughts?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy….I was not privy to QVC’s plans going forward, but I like you saw a big change in the models chosen and the types of clothing they were buying. Since Covid they only use 2 models per show and 3 for shows longer than an hour. One of the models has to be a 1x and the other a missy size xs. These are the only size clothes that are avail in “Product Central” where all the samples are kept for both the on air shows and the still life photos. The stylist just put what ever is avail. on the model who is booked. The problem is no one checks to see what the measurements of these models are. When they were hired they may have been a 1x….but…..many are now much bigger and are 2x or bordering 3x. I think you can tell just by looking at them and the way the clothes fit. The same problem exits for the smaller models. Some are xxs and smaller. Katia is a zero but she knows how to carry herself and still makes the clothes [most of the time] look like they fit. I always chose clothes for her to wear that I knew she could pull off. The problem is there are no samples in 2x or 3x for these models to wear. If there were all would be fine, and then the host can say that so and so was wearing a 2x. Instead the viewer is left to wonder if the 1x on the model is too small and should I size up, or is the model too big!!! I have seen many models in the still life photos who are wearing clothes that are too small. One that comes to mind is the blond model in the alabaster faux suede pant. They are so tight on her that you see bulges in her legs! This should not be. It is obvious she needs a larger size, and is not a 1x bottom…Some of the models of color that I know are not 1x, but are still squeezed into 1x clothes….Then the consumer should also know just because a garment is offered in 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, and 5x doesn’t mean it would be appropriate for them. I see some of them in these skin tight dresses and think how could they show these clothes on these models…..The sad thing is they sell them….so what is to be said of the consumer? The best thing to do is go by the measurements and compare with clothes you own and like the way they fit. In general you know your shoulder, bust, waist and hip measurements. You want the garment measurements to be at least 2 to 3 inches bigger than body measurements for fitted clothes and 3 to 4 inches for an easier fit. 4 inches is only 2 inches on either side of the body. You don’t want the clothes to be overly big either. Those are the standard rules for missy sizing. I don’t think it really changes for plus sizes……As for the type of clothing being sold….let me say this…..I was “enthusiastically” asked to become a part of QVC to elevate the look of the product. To bring “DESIGNER CLOTHES’ into the corporate mix at a reasonable price middle America could afford. I was specifically brought in to elevate the taste level and to expose the QVC customer to a more sophisticated American sportswear look….which really means coordinating separates……Their trajectory seems to be the exact opposite today and the emphasis is on super casual, and for me in general, inexpensive clothes. Of course there are a few exceptions, but their lines are very small and very little “designer” clothes. Well tailored jackets and blazers have all but disappeared, and more and more it looks to me that clothes are brought in that can easily be made in all of the new plus sizes too. “Chic” and “Sophistication”, are two words that no longer exist when speaking about the QVC apparel….IMHO…..They may be used in conversation by hosts and vendors, but not in the same way I know these words are truly meant. Almost all of the true designers are gone, and the ones remaining have all taken the casual pill….at least I think so from what I had seen, but honestly I haven’t watched it in months.

      1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Louis Thank you SOOOO much for the candid reply. Confirms I have not been going crazy! I too have shown that poor blonde model’s picture to my husband who gave me all 3 colors of that pant for Christmas. He cringed and said the picture looked awful and asked if I was sure that’s what I wanted. Of course my reply was, “Trust me. I trust Louis!” I shudder over and again at how the models look in even Linea. The ruffle blouse new this year in black and plum was a real off putter on the otherwise lovely African American model – for me! I hasten to add this is not a reflection on the model herself. Thank you for explaining what is going on and where things are going. Such a dreadful shame. I think it is clear there was not much room left at QVC for all of us long-time Linea Ladies. Now I know that is the case for me! Thanks for being the honest guy I can ask!

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Of course Nancy it is just my opinion and not that of QVC….I know the picture you speak of with the model in the ruffle blouse. They also used her for the faux V-neck wrap blouse in Ivory. It is so small on her it’s pulling so much it’s “screaming….release me!” I got into trouble for saying she looked bad in the picture, but I don’t blame her at all. She got hired and is doing her job. I blame the model bookers for not checking and keeping up to date with models measurements….I blame the stylist for allowing her picture to be taken in a garment that was obviously too small, and I blame the photographer who didn’t come right out and say “this looks bad”. After all it is his reputation on how these pics look. It doesn’t look like anyone really cares, but again that’s just my personal opinion.

          1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

I understand and “get” and agree with your personal opinion. I am not remotely concerned about what QVC thinks. In the end I expect we would be stunned at the enormous volume they must deal with who have problems with shipping, problems not getting items ordered from them, or getting items after the customer has canceled the item and received QVC confirmation of same, get someone else’s item, or get a size or a color they did not order and on and on and on. The shipping and lost items are very big problems. My husband thinks the company “lost it’s way a lot of years ago.” He wonders if they have any idea what their guiding principles are anymore. And that is our personal opinion. Covid has multiplied and complicated every issue they already had. It is kind of a relief to have them off my daily radar.

      2. Kim S

Louis, thank you so much for explaining the sizing issues I’m seeing on QVC, and on .com. I’m so sad that your creations will not be available anymore, a tragedy. I can’t think of a better item to purchase in remembrance or your wonderful art, than a trench. So in looking to order the gauze trench in the light tan, it NOW makes sense why Katia looks like she’s in the wrong size on the video. She is definitely not XS, and has this item over a shirt and it STILL looks big to me. Do you have recommendations for this item? I am dept store size 6, QVC xs. One review said this item ran small, but it looks huge on Katia. I can wear 2 or 4 at QVC—is it better to error on the larger size? I would not wear a shirt under this, probably tank or tee. Just wasn’t sure after watching that video. As you’ve said here, Katia makes everything look like it fits even when it doesn’t! Thank you for any help, and for continuing on with this blog, so grateful for that.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kim….it really depends on how you like your clothes to fit. I always prefer an easier fit than a fit that’s too small especially in a trench coat.

          1. Anonymous

I’m definitely taking that advice, thank you Louis!

            1. Karen in WI

Kim S, I am size 6 right now and usually wear Xs at QVC. I got the gauze trench in a size 6 and it fits very well. I may have tried the 4 at first, but I do have broad shoulders and didn’t want to deal with a return.

  25. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

Louis, I have to share with you how much I love your blog! In the morning I will search on a color, and go back in time, viewing all your combos and ideas for the day’s outfit. Today I used Espresso and took a lovely trip down memory lane. Thank you!!!! 🥰
    Susan

    1. Nan

The espresso and denim wide leg pant A351470 in the woodblock print has now been moved to limited quantity status at $17, although most sizes are still available.
Love that pant ! Great print and fabric !

    2. Sylvia

Mary Beth Roe is about the same size as me. I could use her as a guide for sizing. It just amazes me that QVC won’t put forth more effort to show the clothing at their best. Seems to me (what do I know?) that would increase sales. I don’t watch any of their shows anymore…
My new hobby is seeking out vintage Linea on Ebay and Poshmark. I bought a suede jacket today, I think they called the color “cranberry red”. I don’t THINK I’ve seen it in your blog posts, so maybe it is to come? The entire jacket is suede.

  26. Kathy

Louis. I love Whisper Knit and many other items in your line. I have so many of your clothing and jewelry items and planned to buy more. What will we do without you? Please tell me you have something else in the works!

    Kathy

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kathy, I’m afraid not. I consider myself retired. If Elaine were still in business I would think about it, but she is retiring too. The business just isn’t any fun anymore. When you are squeezed for every penny, the joy is squeezed out too.

Happy Easter, Louis! We love you!

  28. queendiva

Forgot to add: I scored 3 of the mistake-priced necklaces. Still in processing.
Thanks for the reminder about the pansies. I need to buy a few for my new planter and for Easter gifts. I think they are safe to plant here after 4/1.

  29. queendiva

    Hello Louis!
I have lost weight and continue to lose. I am enjoying the hunt for Linea in my new sizes on the auction sites.
Much prefer to shopping for new at retail. So happy to replace some of my favorites that I can’t live without!
Fun to see what new items come up over time. I think I have the leisure pants in every size in white! Harder to find in black and olive, but I will keep looking. The Leisure and Super Ponte pants, both in petite length, are my Can’t Live Without pants.

  30. Carolyn M

It was oddly wonderful hearing the frustrations of loyal Linea followers commenting about their Q experiences. I’ve experienced the same – recently one Linea item was in my cart and I continued shopping. In a short time I returned to my cart and the price had changed (increased). How could that happen? Other times I’ve ordered, the order confirmed with a confirming email stating the item was “on its away” and then the item waitlisted. My account was in excellent order, the item paid in full and I had to wait, and wait and wait. It was because of Louis that I waited and waited. I love the Linea quality, the care to produce each garment, etc. A thanks to the Great One whom I’m already missing. If you retire permanently I’ll understand but my secret hope is that you do something on a small volume basis so your devoted followers may love and support. Blessings to you during this special time of year.

  31. Clark55

I get so confused with QVC’s pricing of the Linea line. One week it’s one price then the next week it’s a higher price for no reason. Also what happened to the return policy? With their recent final sale, no return, on items lately I will be afraid to purchase anything in the future. Also the clothes that are being sold on QVC and the department stores are made so cheaply. What happened to quality and good designers? I’m so glad that after reading your message in December I immediately went on a major Linea shopping spree and purchased all of the items that were on my wish list. I have your fashions to last me many many years.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Clark55. I don’t understand their pricing either. If it’s a limited sale item, and when the sale is over the price goes up….that I understand, but this see saw with prices I don’t understand. Cheaply made clothing is the way of the world. Elaine and I really maintained our quality for as long as we were in business, and those who complained about our quality had no clue, because nothing on QVC or for that matter at retail was made better. People want low prices, but businesses have margins and have to make money so what suffers is the fabrics and workmanship. I don’t see it getting better. Expensive clothes will only get more expensive and inexpensive clothes will be poorly made with inferior fabrics. I got out at the right time.

  32. Michelle

Sharing this in case it’s helpful. QVC is having a Fashion Clearance Blowout with “final sale” clearance items. If you go to the Fashion Clearance Blowout section of the QVC website (or app) you’ll see that they have fashion, jewelry, shoes and bags that are being offered as “final sale” items. I clicked on Fashion, went to the brands and selected Linea. There are currently 27 Linea clothing items that are on “final sale” clearance. They have only one Linea jewelry item on “final sale” clearance, J353997, the nugget necklace and earring set.

I like these sales when I already know that an item works for me. It gives me the chance to pick up multiples or other colors at a fantastic price. I was able to get another color in the nugget necklace at a really low price for such a quality item. Happy shopping!

  33. Bernadette

    Hi Louis,

I really do not understand QVC. Here’s why…

I found several items and I’m sure there are more, listed as Limited Quantity Price. I searched on that phrase and nothing came up. So… I thought I’d pass along what I have found.

A306344 – regular moss crepe tank dress
    A347493 – cathedral print top
    A302559 – soft peplum top
A347479 – stand collar striped shirt with back box pleat
A306416 – convertible shoulder peasant top
A311557 – petite pebble crepe boatneck tunic
    A287620 – crinkle boho floral

I don’t understand why QVC makes it so difficult to find these items. If anyone finds any other garments or jewelry listed as such please pass along the item number.

Every day I’m sadden by the fact that we will no longer have the joy and excitement and pleasure of owning another one of your fabulous and exquisite designs.

    Bernadette

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Bernadette, I too am mystified by the way QVC conducts their business. Something seems amiss in their inventory departments. There is no rhyme or reason for it. It seems so unorganized. They should just post EVERYTHING that is avail. on the site. You would think, now that they are ending my line, they would want to get rid of the merchandise as quickly as possible and clean out the warehouses. Only yesterday they made so many mistakes with the pricing of the jewelry on the sale event [which is still going on] that they had to be corrected latter in the day only because TCJC called them on it! I have absolutely nothing to do with them anymore, I don’t watch it so I don’t really know what’s going on. How all of a sudden all of the inventory showed up is beyond me. The Tartan blazers were all sold out and now they are avail again. As I said I have no idea whats going on. I hear your frustration, but it’s all beyond me.

      1. Bernadette

Thank you Louis. I understand your frustration and I don’t know how you dealt with them all these years. I hope my post helps folks find items.

I do have one more question. Would the black floral ruffle blouse look good with the denim cargo pants?

    2. Sylvia

Every day I do a search on QVC and type in “Louis Dell’Olio”. You would THINK that all Louis’s items would show up under this search. But none of those “limited quantity price” items show up under a basic search. One would think that QVC would try to show their merchandise as attractively as they can, especially as they are online and people can’t touch and try on. The ONLY reason I put up with their slow shipping and price “shenanigans” is to buy Linea. I occasionally buy something from Kim Gravel. But once Louis’s clothes are gone, they have lost me as a customer. I really don’t know how you put up with them either, Louis. I’m glad you did, for our benefit, but still… poor business practices is all I can say… I RACKED UP on Louis’ jewelry last weekend!!!

  34. Irene

Hello Louis, QVC is offering “blow-out pricing” and I just purchased TWO colors in your lace jacket – over 60-percent off the original price!
Your beautiful designs and details have really spoiled us, Louis. When I am going to purchase a garment, I find myself thinking, ‘how would Louis have designed this?’
Much love to you, Louis. Be well and enjoy the warmer temperatures and longer daylight hours.
    ❤️❤️❤️ Irene

  35. janice

I have a question about models. From your many years of working with models and being married to one of the most beautiful of all, my question is why do runway models never smile? It isn’t just that they don’t smile, but they always look sullen or angry or sad. Just something I’ve always wondered about.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Janice…that’s an interesting question. It really started with the French Couture shows. There was no music and the models walked one by one holding cards with the number of the dress. They felt the attitude should be very aloof and snobby, After all they were selling dresses in the thousands of dollars and it was a serious business. As the years passed this “attitude” was promoted by the ready to wear designers. They wanted the girls to look serious and above it all. Like they were better than the viewer. The more expensive the clothes the more snobby the attitude. When much less expensive collections started to be shown the models were usually younger and told to smile…..When I did my shows at AK it really depended on the show and where it was held….I once did a show during the summer for a resort line at the Boat House Restaurant in Central Park. We rented the entire place during the lunch hours. We served snacks and drinks at round tables, and the models were told to smile and be light hearted. The collection, and the venue called for it. Usually for the fall shows the models went back to being snooty.

      1. Anonymous

thank you for your reply. I so wanted to read your response. While I can understand the serious look I loved your word choices of “snobby” and “snooty”. That is exactly the look I was trying to describe. They always look like they’d rather be somewhere else!

        1. Karen in WI

Oh, I always wondered the same thing Janice! I am still a bit perplexed by it though. You can not smile, but still have a nice, friendly look to your face. I have never bought designer clothing before Louis so I certainly wouldn’t know what look would sell. So interesting! I have always loved the models Louis used. Such lovely ladies.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Joan….This particular muslin looks re-embroidered. I can’t say that I have ever heard of this type of muslin. We never bought fabrics from this part of the world as they weren’t represented by offices in NYC or at trade shows. I didn’t use much muslin because women didn’t understand the value and thought it was cheap.

  36. Terrie crawford

I have this blazer Louis in the Navy (A343162) and want your opinion of a Susan Graver top I thought would go well with it.
Item no. is A367760 in the navy/teal pattern. I will be watching for your response to this and also the below message I posted prior. Thanks in advance!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Terrie that is an excellent question……First it depends on how tall you are….If you’re tall you can wear any bottom you like. If you are short than it gets trickier…..The rule is short jackets-long skirts, long jackets-short skirts, but we don’t believe in rules do we!!!!That said if you are short and want to wear a longer jacket with a long skirt first try wearing, for example a TN that matches the skirt [any style sweater will work]. This past fall I did a lot of WK sweater like the turn back collar that matched the long WK skirts. This will give you a column of color which is elongating….Also, a boot with at least a mid high heel. Flat boots with long skirts on short women can make you look like you stepped into a hole…LOL….The idea is not to break up the line under the jacket and wearing the jacket open or one top button helps to create a longer line. You can even accomplish this by wearing clothes under the jacket that are tonal. Once you are happy with this then you can branch out with other things…..Does this make sense to you?

      1. Anne in NC

        Love this advice. Thank you.

  37. Terrie crawford

Dear Louis, I left this post on your Facebook page but was afraid you may not see or overlook it. I decided to post it here today.

Louis, I dearly love the boyfriend jackets I got in all four colors. Also, both of the boucle jackets and the trench coat in moss. So many garments I bought from your line from November on thru this week. Too many to count so that tells you how I REALLY feel about your line. One thing I wanted your advice on is the jackets. Since they are of the longer length I “heard” that they look better with dressy slacks as opposed to skirts. I wear long skirts almost to my ankles and they say to wear shorter jackets with skirts. I am so curious to hear the proper way to wear both the long and shorter jackets.

    1. Terrie crawford

Louis, Yes it does make sense to me. I am 5’6 1/2 inches tall ( I lost 1 full inch) so I guess I may be considered tall.

Also, what do you think of wearing A367760 in the navy/teal pattern with your blazer in the Navy (A343162)?

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Terrie the first thing to check is if the navy of the blouse and the navy of the jacket are compatible. I am assuming you own this blouse? I’m not sure if I like the way the pattern will show when the jacket is won open. Honestly it would not be my first choice. I’m sure you own better options.

  38. Somersault

Louis, I was able to purchase A366537 Plaid Blazer in yellow at a ridiculous price! I have it in ivory, too. I was wondering with the yellow if I could wear a striped men’s shirt with it………..maybe a pale blue or pale pink. The yellow reminds me of the men’s jackets especially the English when they even wear a pale yellow vest underneath. I have the red blouse and several WK turtlenecks that work wonderfully but I’m looking for something different. Would love you suggestions……………….Thank you so much……………Cat

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Somersault, I don’t think I need to give you any suggestions. It sounds like you have the “looks” down pat. I would love stripe shirts, chambray shirts or any solid cotton shirt YOU THINK mixes well. A vest would be fabulous….even a tank over a TN or shirt could double as a vest, In the lasted movie of “Little Women” there is a scene where Jo and Laurie are walking through a fields and she has on the most fabulous yellow/chamois jacket with a foulard vest a scarf and a long wonderfully full tweed or check skirt……and if memory serves a sort of straw hat. I thought she looked FABULOUS and very today. So don’t be afraid of mixing pattern vests…foulard, paisleys and florals….even a men’s tie with a chambray shirt and jeans could be fun with an Annie Hall hat….[if you could pull off, or even want to wear a tie…LOL]….I love the look, and you could achieve it with a handkerchief scarf if a tie isn’t your thing….a men’s BOWTIE?????…..Whatever…have fun mixing it all up…Actually, the more you mix it the better.

      1. Anonymous

Oh Louis, thank you so much! I love your suggestions, truly appreciate it! Love the idea of a tie or the handkerchief scarf, even a bow tie…..untied! I’m off and running! Your pansies look so wonderful and will be fabulous when planted…….all those happy faces………….Cat

  39. Andrea

Hi Louis- I am going to wear the vivid pink blazer with the Scarlett crossover neck blouse tomorrow. The alabaster faux suede pants seem to go. Is it inappropriate to wear red sandal -like shoes with faux suede (shoes are item number A394740)? I could wear pumps with it, but my feet are not so great and I was looking forward to a break from pumps! I am trying to get a little more wear out of my winter stuff while it is a little cool.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Andrea, I have to be honest….I looked at the shoes and unless you have difficulties with your feet, these are not the style I would pick. They are very casual for the outfit and would be better with jeans.

      1. Andrea

Louis, thanks for taking a look. I appreciate your candor.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Andrea….any time! I took a look at what QVC had to offer….very slim pickings!…..not knowing you or your preferences, with the outfit you put together, which I LOVE, these are the shoes I would have selected from what’s avail.: A387400 red, A374335 red, A365903 oatmeal, A378497 oatmeal, A365911 oatmeal and A378596 beach multi [could be fun].

          1. Karen in WI

Andrea, I think your outfit sounds wonderful! Isn’t it just lovely that Louis takes the time to give us advice? I just wanted to jump in and say that I love the oatmeal Sam Edelman sandals A365903 that Louis mentioned. I don’t wear spiky heels anymore and I found these sandals to be comfortable. I bought both the oatmeal and black as I saw that Louis used these shoes on the models for some presentations. They are at a fabulous price now too.

            1. Andrea

Karen, I completely agree that it is wonderful that Louis answers styling questions! I am enjoying my clothes more than I ever have because of how well he lays out different options here on his blog. I do like the look of the Sam Edelman sandals. it says no returns and no exchanges, though. I have never seen that on a QVC item before. Do you have an opinion on how they fit? I usually wear a 5.5 or 6. Since I can’t return or exchange, if I purchase, I need to make an educated guess on the size.

            2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Andrea, from my many years of doing shows both at AK and QVC, when allocating shoes, especially very strappy sandals that were very open I always gave them the smaller size which they felt they could keep on better than a bigger size so I would say the 5.5 as a guess. This is a new thing with QVC the “Blow Out Price” is a way they devised to eliminate so many returns that cost them a lot. Karen what do you think about the sizing?

      2. Karen in WI

I just saw this so sorry for the delay! I think it’s awful that you can’t return them, especially a shoe if you don’t know your size in that line. My feet are almost always a 9.5 in dress shoes or sandals, and then I am usually a 10 in sneakers. The Sam Edelman sandals fit me well in 9.5. Being a sandal, like Louis said, your best bet would probably be to go with your smaller size as there is usually a little more leeway for the toes. Good luck!

        1. Andrea

I ordered the oatmeal in 5.5 and the black in 6. I figured since it was half off I would take my chances and try both so I’d end up with at least one pair I can wear. The 6’s actually fit better because of the shape of my toe joint on my left foot. I think the oatmeal will work if I need to (with my foot looking a little like SJP’s foot), but the strap on top near the toes is really not big enough. I am really happy with the black ones. It has been years since I have had strappy sandals with a heel. Thanks Louis and Karen.

  40. Janet Monette

Louis, I’m going to order the blazer A343162. The size 8 will probably work if I wear tanks or something close fitting underneath. A size 10 might be a bit too large. Do you think I should get the size 10 and have it altered if necessary? Thank you!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Janet you should compare the click here measurements between the two sizes. If there isn’t a big difference I would go with the ten. I’d rather a jacket like this being on the loose side instead of being too small. That will also allow you to wear whatever you like under it

  41. Mary Pearce

I am searching high and low for a top I purchased on QVC by you and now I need the next size up…seems it’s sold out now, I missed that it went on clearance but I ADORE this too and want it in FLAME.
It’s a printed 3/4 sleeve in a high low hem color FLAME in large! At the time the Q item was # A263353.

Any chance of buying that elsewhere?

      1. Renee

        Hello Louis,
I ordered every color in the whisper knit tank A384150 in size 1X & the fit is perfect. I want to order your other whisper knit tank A307363, should I order the same size or go up a size? Thank you

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Renee…I would suggest to look at the click here measurements of both tanks, and compare the measurements to your body measurements. If the difference isn’t too great between tanks than you can go up a size. My only concern is the armhole size. Read the reviews and see what other women who own it suggest.

  42. Jeanne

    Dear Louis,
I have searched every day for items from you and found nothing new and have only just discovered from a previous post that you are no longer on QVC. I am greatly disappointed as my wardrobe has many of your designs. Thank you for all you have done over the years to provide good quality, well made and great designs I have been proud to wear. I treated myself to several pieces last year, including the snow leopard top, double layer pants, inset lace top, faux shantung and windowpane jackets. Perhaps you will offer us another outlet where we can still patronize and enjoy your clothing. God bless and keep you well and happy.

  43. Michelle

How is the weather in CT these days, Louis? And how is the garden doing? I always feel like we’ve turned the corner and are headed towards Spring when the sun starts setting at 6 pm. Now if only I had a new Linea Spring collection to look forward to this month (or ever again).

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Michelle, the days are noticeably longer, but even though it’s been sunny it has also been very cold. In spite of the cold the daffodils and other spring bulbs are coming up.

      1. Michelle

I’m always impressed by those hardy flowers that are the first to arrive in March. They seem not to care about the cold, but are heading with determination towards Spring. You’ll have to post some pictures when the weather warms up and the garden gets active.

  44. Anonymous

I just (A352027) the Embroidered Skirt in Silver Grey; besides a black top, what else would you recommend? I can not think of anything top in silver. Thank you, Spring in coming…….

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I don’t have anything left that would work, but if you can find A347450 WK Light Heather Gray sweater on ebay that looks good….or something in that family. I also like white shirts or blouses for a more casual look.

      1. Vickybliss

What about the white Faux Shantung Band Collar Jacket? Thank you for your help

          1. vickybliss

I was able to get the (A347450) WK Light Heather Gray sweater to go with the (A352027) the Embroidered Skirt in Silver Grey. I would like a jacket to add to the grouping and wondered if the white Faux Shantung Band Collar Jacket would work?

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Vickybliss….I love the jacket but not over those two pieces. I would prefer the faux suede jacket in Black over the grey sweater and jet beads. I think the proportion is better.

  45. Melissa W

    Hi Louis,

Just want to say how much I enjoy your recent posts on your past designs. The only problem is I wish I could get them now! So beautiful and timeless!

As I’ve said before, I’m so disappointed (what an understatement) that we won’t be getting any more collections from you. I loved your fall collection and was looking forward to your spring/summer collection. When many of your past items suddenly became available in my size, I jumped at the chance to get them.
I adore your floral ruffle blouses in red and green, but was always bummed I didn’t get it in the sapphire. I was able to grab the sapphire and the black as well as other items including the ivory pleated blouse and the sapphire embroidered skirt. Yay! I only wish I had been able to get the sapphire glitterati necklace.

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday. After a busy week, I’m enjoying being lazy with my dogs.

    Take care!
    Melissa

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Melissa do you have the black Glitterati necklace? I think you should have 2 if they are on sale. I think b lack jet necklaces are a must!! and they go with so much. Ebay also has different black jet necklaces, but they must be glass or Austrian. If you have the Latte emb skirt they still have the beige glitterati which looks great mixed with the black jet

      1. Melissa W

No…I have the beige glitterati (I bought it to go with the latte skirt and the inset lace tops), the wine, and the turquoise. I have the black tassel you did from a few years ago and a few other black necklaces from you. I need to go through my stash!

If the glitterati goes on sale again, I’ll try to pick up the black. The blue was so pretty though…☹️

        1. Andrea

The glitterati is on sale right now for $58.49.

  46. Debra

    Dear Louis,
I admit that I have not been here for quite a long time it seems, but was shocked to see your comment from yesterday that your line has been cancelled from QVC! It seems shocking to me.
Your whisper knits are the only sweaters that I have bought every season and have never found a knit that was so soft and so comfortable against my sensitive skin. At the beginning of the winter, in hopes of finding a new job (it did not occur), I purchased your cardigans, tanks, mocknecks, and midi skirts in multiples in plum, dark gray, and black. Although I am not working, when I had to prepare a video for a grad school class (yup, working on a Master’s degree in hopes of getting a job when this year is through), I wore your plum from head to toe.

Last year, I filled up on Port with more in light gray and navy, both sweaters and the short and midi lengths. Your clothing has been my work uniform for over a decade. It is my hope that while cruise wear etc. may not be part of clothing necessities for quite awhile to come, your basics still are part of our wardrobes. While we may wear a lot of sweats and fleece, when it comes time to join the world again, even for Thanksgiving, I will be wearing your whisper knit separates.

This is my fan letter to you Louis and thanking you for the care and attention that you have brought to every thing that you have designed. I began purchasing from QVC so that I could purchase your clothes. What the future will bring is unknown to be sure, however, those that appreciate you and your clothing, will not be disappearing.

    Stay healthy and well, Louis,
    thank you,
    Debra

    1. Renee

Debra, Congratulations on obtaining your bachelor degree and working on your Master’s degree! I am an older adult and will be done with the grad program May ’22. We will be dressed well for our future employment!:)

      1. Anonymous

        Thank you Renee!!
Actually, I am an older adult too. 🙂

I got my Bachelor’s in 1984! I hope to get my Master’s this Fall.

      2. Anonymous

Good for you Renee and Much Luck!!
It is a bit intimidating as the technologies in the work world keep changing, but I must say online education with no commuting or night school is a pleasure!

Attention Linea Ladies, many items that have been sold out are back in stock in multiple sizes and colors. I picked up the lace top in graphite and the faux suede jacket in perfectly pink also the dark grey cardigan that I’ve been waiting for since the end of December back and forth from in progress to back order.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I can only assume that they finally got the Christmas returns back on the shelves. They had three months to return and it takes a while for the minimal staff to sort, re pack and go through the process to post again.

      1. Vickybliss

It is Christmas in March. I got four things that had been canceled waitlist items. It is unbelievable. Ladies, this is an amazing opportunity.

        1. Joanne C

I had a must list also and was able to purchase. I am so happy.

    2. Renee

Thank you Kathy/Wis for the information and thank you Louis for your beautiful clothes! I was excited to order Jac’s blouse in ivory and turquoise, two crepe tanks w/pockets, a plum whisper knit tank (now i have all colors), a caramel turtleneck tank & cardigan to match and the butter creme satin blouse. I have been stocking up for when I finish grad school next year to have clothes for work. I was excited to see numerous items that I have wanted.

I do have a question on item A378720 in the perfectly pink color. Is the color a peachy pink or straight on pink? I own the ivory color and I love it. I was thinking of purchasing it to wear with the bisque riding jacket with black dress pants or the bisque skirt that I need to order..Thank you!

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Renee, Perfectly Pink has a slight peach undertone as opposed to a blue pink. I’m not sure how it would look with the Bisque?….The same blouse in Ivory might be safer.

        1. Renee

          Thank you!:)

I felt when the Q purchased HSN that they may have over reached as so many company do It appears I was correct…However as time went on I felt maybe they would be OK. However this virus has caused a lot of damage and so the cut backs. And we lost the best designer they had. I still cannot believe how blessed we all were to have your clothes. Very hard now to not have your designs available…I have a closet full. I began loading up before your departure even announced and sure glad I did!!! I also have been picking up lots…I had already bought most of new jewelry all are favorites but the one new one. the necklace with the star will be my most favorite as it is so you .I picked up the last ivory lace top in my size this AM I of course have the blue and pink..The ivory just said special night out. I love your showing all your clothes from over the years. Wish the Q would go back to the beginning and make them all aver again Some I did not get at the beginning however my husband most likely believesI got everything >I am 2 weeks out from 2nd vaccine injection so life will begin again..Right after 2nd injection my hubby called his favorite steak house and we will be eating out again.. Hi Louis
I own the turquoise version of Jac’s garden scarf A351407. It appears the red version as well as the black version are the same. Is that true? Are they the same scarf?

I love the garden scarfs with your blazer and Jac’s garden shirt.
    Thanks Louis

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No Joanne, they are different. QVC just has the same picture. If you look at Jac’s Garden shirt you will see the two colors. The scarves match.

  51. Yoko

Louis I have The COTTON SATEEN 3 BUTTON BLAZER with contrast cotton banding and the addition of zipper teeth! Mine is navy. It is beyond perfect. I wear it a lot. Some of my favorite ways is over a white silk sheath dress for important business meetings. I also wear it with Armani slacks, white jeans and casually with my favorite way too expensive designer blue denim jeans. It almost always is in my travel bag. I also like it with the cuff turned back & buttoned (inside out) so you see that gorgeous button detail. It looks equally good with heels and white tennis shoes & jeans. It is one of my Linea treasures. I’ve received numerous Complements and even more long looks.

My mother has it in white and has occasionally let me wear her jacket. She says she is 5”3 (I think more like 5’1 and 100lbs.) She wears an XXS. I’m 5’8 weigh 119 and wear an XXS.or XS only because of my longer arms. On the rare occasion I wear her jacket she tells me I better not stretch it out because I’m so big. (This is typical from Asian mothers).

I have never stretched out her jacket since I am actually smaller than her and only taller. But I smile and tell her I won’t button it. 😉

  52. Nora

    Dear Louis,
I purchased your “Jac’s Garden” blouse last year and love it. The classical shirt style, the fit, the material were perfect! It was such a lovely tribute to your wife. Any chance you will do that blouse again in a different print or just plain colors? I would love to have more of this same blouse in different prints as it is so comfortable and ALWAYS draws compliments. Perhaps a new version of the “Jac’s Garden” blouse every year to continue your tribute to her? Thank you!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nora, I can only guess you haven’t heard that QVC has dropped the Linea line so there will not be any new items coming. I am so happy you love Jac’s Garden print blouse. It’s very special to me. The matching square scarf is still avail. if you are interested. They are great separate scarves and make perfect gifts

      1. Anonymous

Why did they drop your line, Louis? You have the most coveted, well-made, stylish line on QVC and frankly, even in high end department stores. I am so sad to hear this!

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I can’t be 100% sure, but I think it’s a combination of the volume in $$$ the line brought in, and a much more casual K mart look. It’s not that the line didn’t make money, but a “boutique” collection like mine has a much more limited audience. It’s a “fashion” audience, and the clothes are dressier as opposed to jeans and sweats, and lounge wear….However, when this virus is over they will have zero vendors with style to cater to working women

          1. Kimberly

I am just sick! I have been working and finally got the promotion that I have been striving for….so today, I went to the Q to shop and shop your line and saw this! Well the working women, even those that just have a place to go occasionally, want and need lovely clothing. I am praying that you continue to heal from Jac’s loss. I still have some of your AK clothes! And I ALWAYS giggle when one of the young girls at work say – what a beautiful jacket, blouse, belt, scarf….and I think of you and your gifts…and think…this jacket is older that you are ! Good taste never goes out of style !!

  53. Carol

I have a vintage mink coat (car coat length on a petite woman) I’ve had for several years. It was my MIL’s and it’s just hanging in the closet because I can’t bear to part with it for sentimental reasons. She was a tiny woman and no one in our family can wear it (or would wear it in public). I’ve been thinking of having it turned into smaller pieces that I can give to her granddaughter and great grand daughters. I was thinking of may scarves–like the pull through type. I’ve done nothing about it because I’m not sure what’s involved in fur tailoring. Do you have any thoughts you can share? We used to have a furrier here, but they are long gone and so is Bullocks, where it originated. I don’t know if a regular tailor does that kind of work. I’m also open to better ideas about what to do with it. I need to get 4 pieces out of one coat.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Carol a regular tailor can not work on fur. You can google information but if there is no one near you to speak with it would probably be way to costly to consider. The coat at this point isn’t worth anything. It’s getting impossible to sell used furs, and people that deal in the used fur business want them for practically nothing so they can make some profit reselling them. I think it’s a nice idea but not a realistic one

      1. Carol

Thanks for your reply. If a regular tailor cannot do the work, there’s no hope of it happening. It’s a shame as it is a very pretty fur. My sister and I had to clear out our parent’s house for sale a few years ago and gave away the furs we found there. There was a fox stole from our great aunt that had the heads on it! We didn’t even want to touch that, but it was fun to look at.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Carol if you know a tailor or a seamstress ask them first what they thing and an approx. cost before you give up on it.

          1. Marie

            Carol,
I don’t know if this would be of any interest to you, but I have heard that some animal rescue organizations will accept fur donations. I doubt this will apply to typical dog and cat shelters but more likely some specialized programs. They are used for baby animals who have lost their mothers when they were very young. The babies are given sections of fur to cuddle with, to help replicate/ substitute for the lost mother, as they are being rehabilitated. So, if you find no way to make your other ideas work, that might be useful information to be aware of. I do not know the name of any specific organizations which might do that but there are many wildlife rehab programs. Perhaps google could produce leads. Maybe Peta could have ideas of places fi they do not take the furs themselves. Best wishes.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Marie that’s very interesting. I’ve often seen wildlife shows where they do that. I’ve seen it especially with abandoned bay lambs. I have some of Jac’s grandmother’s fur pieces in a box somewhere that would be perfect for this.

    2. Cathy in PA

Dear Carol, if I may jump in here with an idea: There are craftspeople and companies who turn old fur coats into delightful stuffed teddy bears. Not inexpensive, but if the sentimental value is there, priceless. Just Google “Make a teddy bear from an old fur coat” and a wealth of info will come up, including some YouTube videos. Some of the bigger companies can do small fur collars, or pillows etc. in addition to bears. My cousin did this with her grandmother’s fur coat, using a local craftsperson she met at a maker fair; her bear sits on a little rocking chair in her home, to greet everyone who comes in; adorable. Just an idea 🙂

      1. Michelle

Cathy, thank you for sharing this information. We also have some real fur coats in our family from great aunts and grandmothers that are sitting in storage because no one wears them. This might be a great way to give “repurpose” coats that go unworn, but have too much sentimental value to give away. Michelle

      2. Carol

Thank you to Cathy, Marie, Louis, and anyone else who joins in this thread, because I know there are lots of people who have furs that are hard to part with. I really like the Teddy bear idea. I have a son named Teddy, He’d love to have a bear from his grandmother’s fur. Sorry, nieces! LOL

    Louis
Your retrospective has inspired me. I wore today one of Linea’s oldies, but goodies.
Linea (A92293) Ink crepe jacket with Satin black Trim on buttons, satin bow trim at pockets, and black satin belt at back. I wore with Linea faux suede black slim leg pants and your Linea wk black round neck short sleeve sweater. I wrapped around black glitterati necklace paired with Ripka onyx earrings. Thank you again for your retrospective. I am being inspired. Louis, I will miss your wonderful clothing.

  55. Michelle

Louis, I was watching some of the collections that are being shown during the Fashion Week(s) for F/W 2021. I was wondering whether any of the collections caught your eye (positively or negatively)?
    Michelle

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I have only seen a few on Vogue.com. In general I didn’t like much, but many of the heavy hitters like Valentino, Ralph Lauren and Chanel haven’t shown yet….I didn’t love any of the following shows completely, but each had something I liked whether it was the fabrics or colors etc. I don’t always understand why they style the outfit the way they do….so you rely have to look at the pieces. The ones I liked for one reason or another were Bruno Cucinelli, Fendi, Alberta Ferretti. From Colville I liked the solid shirts and knitwear. I really liked the crop sweater in navy/red/and olive with the extremely long back worn over a white cotton shirt [nothing I would do for QVC as is but maybe if the lengths were more classic], Alaia because I love Alaia, Lemaire and for absolute young fun Simone Rocha

      1. Michelle

Louis, I’ll have to check out Colville and Simone Rocha. I haven’t watched those shows yet. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Have a great weekend. I hope that signs of spring are starting to show up in CT.
        Michelle

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Also check out Zanini and Etro, but watch the ETRO video…it’s much better than the still shots

  56. Lisa Ann

    Dear Louis,
Some of your items are showing Wait Listed…..what is the reality these orders will be filled?
    Hope you are doing well.
    Lisa Ann

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Lisa Anne……thank you I’m doing well….better when Spring comes! I don’t know which items specifically you are referring to, but I would say no. These would only be returns by now and if they are older items you wouldn’t want them anyway

  57. Vickybliss

I realize there are many grays. Does (A343029) dark heather gray tank go with the
(A384504) gray slim pants? Thank you

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Vickybliss…QVC no longer has the tank posted so I’m not sure what it is. Maybe one of the ladies who owns both can tell you. Heather colors and solids especially with grays can be tricky.

    2. Sarah

      hi Vicky
I compared your items and surprisingly was not a fan. The mock neck looked better with black.
Fyi- still awaiting my grey triple strand. On Feb 1 it says it was shipped but no movement. The replacement showed available then went to backorder- crazy
      Sarah

      1. Vickybliss

Sarah, thank you so much for your comments; I appreciate your insight. My grey triple strand is also Feb 1 with no movement. I call and asked them to look into, but apparently they can’t (?). Let me know if your comes. Best wishes

  58. Nan

    Louis,
I placed two orders for your jewelry on Sunday’s free shipping day. Both orders included several items, but each item now shows a separate shipping number. They have not arrived yet, and I can’t wait to get them, but I have concerns that cost to you will be much higher than it needed to be if items had been shipped together.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Don’t worry Nan…I have nothing tom do with shipping so it cost me nothing.

  59. Andrea

Hi Louis, Are you familiar with crepe scuba fabric? If you are, would it make a decent pull over blouse to wear with a blazer or jacket? I saw some of this fabric in olive that I think would go well enough with my loden faux suede items. But, I am new to sewing and I wasn’t sure if it would be too thick to make a blouse from. The pattern that I was looking at listed crêpe as one of the fabrics that you could use to make the blouse.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Andrea….Since I can’t see or touch the fabric it’s hard to make an evaluation. Usually scuba fabrics are heavier and feel rubbery. Even though hey call it crepe it may be better used for a dress, but not a blouse for layering.

      1. Andrea

Thank you, Louis. The underside did feel a little rubbery. I was afraid it would be too thick. I won’t try to make it work.

  60. Cela

Prayers to everyone braving the storm in Texas. Hope
the horrible power situation is close to being corrected

    1. Bernadette

Thank you Cela. We are getting there. Yesterday was my first day back to work. Many people I work with had busted pipes but from what I understand their damage was not too significant. However, one gal on my team found out that her Mother’s home was completely flooded. Her mom has dementia too and doesn’t quite understand all that is happening. So sad. Others have had so much worse and died from hypothermia. Prayers for alll!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for your prayers. God Bless.

  61. Marie

    Dear Louis,
I’m wondering about resurrecting some nice trouser jeans in my closet. I have a couple Linea pairs and some from another maker. I’ve hung onto them through several closet purges. I don’t get rid of Linea pieces but do get rid of other things that are not as timeless or that do not hold up as well. I also have some bootcut jeans stashed away. So far, have not gotten the bootcut unpacked but I really liked the fit and quality previously. The trouser jeans do fit and, in my opinion, are a good style for me. Skinny jeans have never flattered or really fit my shape. So, I haven’t found or worn jeans much in the past few years since the bootcut and trouser jeans went out of favor. I’m wondering about wearing the trouser jeans now? I haven’t been aware of people wearing them again. Should I just bag them up and donate them? I’m not getting out often with the current situation. Honestly I am not living in an area that is particularly stylish anyway and don’t judge by what I see locally with the sloppy dressing. Do you think we’re in an anything goes time period? Does it seem they are on the way back? To my eye, they are very presentable but really not sure. I know there is a lot of flexibility in fashion but prefer not to look ridiculous either.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Marie….neither style was very extreme so they are perfectly fine to wear now and forever!

      1. Marie

        Dear Louis,
Thank you so much for your reply! I will begin wearing those trouser jeans again. After I unpack the boot cut jeans will see how they look on me now. It is probably time to purge instead the casual, well worn pants that are a bit too baggy and faded now. I have worn them around the house during this time, thinking it just doesn’t really matter if they are baggy and getting faded. On the rare occasions I go out, I do try to upgrade a bit and leave those older items for when I’m home alone. I’ve stocked up on Linea pants which will have to last for years to come, when I want to look more polished. I’ve purchased many Linea items in the past couple of months and now I definitely need to open up some space to keep it.

  62. Michelle

    Louis,
My sister and I are having a friendly debate about the dropped shoulder look, which seems to be all the rage these days. She likes the look, I do not. I think it looks sloppy. Also, as someone with broad shoulders, dropped shoulders are not my friend. I’m curious about your thoughts on dropped shoulders. You have always talked about the importance of the shoulder line in your blazers. In what way would you use a dropped shoulder, if at all?
Thanks for your thoughts. I hope that the sun is shining in your neck of the woods today.
    Michelle

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Michelle….we are expecting a storm in the late tonight or the very early hours of the morning…..On drop shoulders I have to side with both of you. I like drop shoulders on certain styles Sometimes they do look great on coats and topper type winter coats, they can also look great on sweaters. With dropped shoulders the bust and hp measurement usually is larger too so that can create a sloppy look as you say, but that can be a good look too if done correctly. I like big shirts with drop shoulder. The problem is many women don’t understand or like the look so they will but their size which is correct for the proper look, but return them for a smaller size. QVC stayed away from drop shoulders, and many times when I sketched them they asked if I would put a set in sleeve instead. I usually changed it but it changed the look and the design of the garment. It made it more commercial.

      1. Michelle

Thanks, Louis. I always appreciate your designer’s point of view. As you’ve said before, not every item is made for every woman. My sister is smaller on top, so she enjoys the look and it works for her. I feel more confident in those items that have a more structured shoulder. And what a diplomat! You’ve helped us end our friendly debate both feeling like we were right. Lol!

Stay safe and warm with the next round of snow. February has certainly not been a kind weather month in 2021. I hope that all of the Linea ladies in TX are doing okay.

        Michelle

  63. Lisa Ann

I just found some ivory whisper knit tops from previous season in my closet.
They will work perfectly to achieve a monochromatic look.
Thank you so much for your time.

  64. Lisa Ann

    Dear Louis,

I purchased A379908 Eyelet Skirt in Off White and was wondering if A307363 Whisper Knit V-neck Tank with Ribbed Detail in Ivory would work together?
Thank you so much for time!
    Lisa Ann

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Lisa Ann….I don’t have the tank anymore so I can’t compare…but neither the skirt nor the tank were pure white so I would guess they would.

      1. Lisa Ann

        Dear Louis,
Thank you…I have the v-neck sweater in black and turquoise. I think I will use them and style with your fabulous jewelry.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Look through what you own. I bet you have an ivory top that will work. You must have an ivory tank somewhere?

          1. Lisa Ann

            Happy St. Patrick’s Day Louis!☘️
