“THE SLATE GREEN CHEMISE”

tunic5

………………….The “GAUZE” CHEMISE DRESS, A290988  is the perfect dress for summer right into early fall…………..It is unlined for cool summer wearing…….”COOL” is the operative word for this dress, because it hangs free from the body, and provides lots of air circulation. This is a ROOMY dress, and it was fit to be roomy, so if you are looking for a dress with shape…..this isn’t it! The definition of the word chemise explains it all….”a dress hanging straight from the shoulders giving the figure a uniform shape popular in the 1920s”. The neckline is a high scoop, and the sleeves are short. I like them rolled for the “cool” factor…..it’s a more casual look. You all know the “gauze” fabric….most recently offered in the Tee shirt and pull on pant……..easy easy care. The dress is approx. 38 inches for the XS. There are small side slits at the hem….more for look then for function. There are band pockets with the pocket bags on the inside of the dress top stitched through to hold them in place……..The SLATE GREEN is a wonderful grayed green…….that has a natural look…………..OK….lets get to the important stuff…………..the FISH PENDANT……………Did you think I was discontinuing this wonderful necklace????? Absolutely not…………..I will be adding new colors periodically, and hopefully bring back some of the most popular…………..This new fish has been swimming up stream, and will reach its’ destination this August on my one hour QVC2 jewelry show. The color is called……………….GREEN PATINA………..and I am in love with this new finish…..well new for Linea……..If you have ever seen old copper on estate homes, (gutters, rain pipes, over hangs or eaves], that have rusted with age…..they turn this marvelous green color……That is exactly what this looks like. When strolling through the antiquities at museums you will often see this color on vessels, tiny statuary and jewelry. The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s gift shop sells jewelry with this same Green Patina finish, and it is all beautiful and all costly. Due to the technique of plating to achieve this color no two fish will be the same! In Aug. I will have a group of jewelry I call the……..”ETRUSCAN”…..group, all done in this Green Patina finish……It will consist of a necklace and earring set, and a separate bracelet……all coordinating with the new Green Patina Fish! It certainly dresses up a simple GAUZE CHEMISE DRESS…………I will be showing this dress this Monday, June 5th, on INSPIRED STYLE…….enjoy…………………much Love……………….Louis

Wonderful chemise, which I will wear as a long tunic. Ended up ordering 3 of 4 colors because the quality details and 3 season/travel potential was all there.
Louis, I finally figured out what that interesting shade, Slate Green, reminded me of…eucalytus leaves, like little coins of silvery sage. by the way,we happen make a very aromatic soap with eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils…now if I could only achieve this perfect hue 😉

      Casey….your absolutely right!

All the verdigris jewelry looked super tonight on Deana. It’s so hard to wait… Actually all the jewelry looked absolutely wonderful tonight.
So the verdigris fish also has beads, earrings, and beaded cuff in verdigris? Glad you liked my beach cottage weathervane analysis on the color!

This is so me, and all the colors are just great, but this green is just killer. I would buy this dress just to give a worthy backdrop for the new patinatted fish, but I will wear it with leggings & ballet flats come fall. I know I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating; you have really hit a groove with this collection this year. Please, just keep ridin’ that wave, cuz we are right there with you.

      Thanks April

You are full of lovely surprises, Louis! LOVE this simple, yet elegant, dress in each & every color, as well as the new Etruscan jewelry! The green patina fish is “everything” on this slate green dress… Like everyone has said, this Linea season has been extraordinary and you truly bring us joy with all your creations. Guess I need to make much more room in my closet!

    Just Lovely!

OMG thank you Louis! I love this dress the green slate is my favorite. Simple but noticeable with some jewelry, cardigan or jacket or just stunning on it’s own.

Dear Louis, I LOVE THIS DRESS!!! Thank you for offering a dress that can hide a multitude of sins, (aka “little lumps and bumps”)! Just what I need for summer and beyond. I am already on the hunt for a camo scarf for the Jute & Slate colors, and will also be ordering the Black. I will later pair these with jean jackets, scarves, chains and necklaces. Thank you for this little surprise you are bringing. Hope you and Jac have a lovely weekend. ♥

I live for these kinds of dresses! Here in Los Angeles, this is 8 months of the year dressing. Perfect for the dog days that are coming and then with a cardigan in late full through early winter. This kind of dress wears well with sandals, booties, and even my trusty Hunter rain boots (if we get lucky again!). I’ll be buying black and green. And, the patina finish on our favorite fish is spectacular.

This dress will also look great with the long WK Cardigan….you may want to try and belt the black dress too.

      1. Kate

Great tip. I have that exact cardigan in black and can scare up a belt, too.

  9. dianeb

Louis- Your latest sneak peeks are beautiful. Will you be offering
any other items in the slate green or the jute colors? The
jewelry is just beyond. So happy QVC gave you an hour show for your
    beauties.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear dianeb, no these colors are a test to see how you all like them.

      1. dianeb

Well put me down as an enthusiastic yes!

I am certain to fall in love with your Etruscan line of jewelry. Very attracted to copper pots and decos found in open bazaars, I picked up many pieces in Greece that I’ve had for decades. Even before, I bought those hammered pots (that hold large plants) that sit on mahogany legs from antique shops in my small hometown. The pieces are from Turkey (shhh…).

I’m a girl who loves her metals! This Etruscan line appeals to my attraction to aged metal, I suppose.

More Must-Haves! Stunning! The Dress! All the colours! The Jewellery!

Hope your Jewellery Buyer gets a bigger budget for August 25th! More Q Customers are becoming Linea Ladies and watching! The Green Patina Fish and the Black Fish will probably set a new record for a Sell Out!

There’s also a Russian Gold Fish….different gold color from the shiny gold fish…..just saying…..LOL

      1. queendiva

Yaaass to the Russian gold fish! I passed on the pendant because the shiny finishes were not for me.

    2. Caroline

Here I am! Actually my Mom turned me onto Linea in the past year. She said it was the only line on QVC that she really follows. She also told me about this blog. I think it is a wonderful that we both can find things that we love for our own style and body shapes and look equally fabulous.

      1. Seka

Caroline – there are three generations of Women in my Family that wear Linea!

      2. louis dell'olio

        Dear Caroline…..welcome to my site!

  12. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Louis, do you think this very intriguing Etruscan inspired coloration might lend the fish to more year-round wearing?? I’m seeing it on a turtleneck. Or no??

    1. louis dell'olio

absolutely……and I will have fall WK that will look great with the green patina

      1. Kate

        Sigh. Of course you do.

  13. Beryl

    One word. Pefection.

  14. queendiva

LOVE this new slate green color! Such a sophisticated neutral and a welcome addition to your previous Linea greens. Was not thinking that I needed a fish pendant (I own your original AK school of fish necklace) but these two go together like PB&J! The pendant will look amazing with black anything as well.

  15. Bernadette

I was so excited to check you website this morning! You never disappoint Louis!!! I can’t wait for this show, all you upcoming shows, and of course, the much awaited jewelry show. 😍 Thank you, thank you, thank you

  16. designista

Fantastic! These sophisticated colors are enticing. This is a great color for A287617 Crepe Gauze stand collar button front tunic. The chemise is so wearable. All the jewelry is exciting, and the green patina is so refreshing. How in the world could you contain yourself from not spilling the beans about these creations? I would have been a motor mouth months ago with my excitement.

  17. Pecan Cookie

Eye candy! All of it! Your workshop must be a very delightful place to be. This slate green would also be great in other separates as well. Looking forward to adding these pieces to my personal Linea Collection. There’s something happy and satisfying just looking at these! Hard to describe but so very real. Thanks, Louis!

    1. louis dell'olio

I know exactly what you mean…..there is something about simplicity that is very pleasing…….hard to describe
