PENCILS READY….AGAIN!!!

First, I must thank you all for making my shows a huge success. Congratulations all around. Everyone was very happy!

Here I am back again to give you another list of new and reorder clothes…all to be shown on the 8th of April! I also  think it would be helpful for you to know what is in store for you for the rest of the season.  The April 8th show  will have 8 new items and 4 reorder items. The May show will have 2 new items, 3 reorder items, a new essential ribbed cardigan and V-neck ribbed tank, plus a fantastic gold multi chain necklace and bracelet [on line purchase only]. June, my final spring/ summer show of the season, will have 10 new items and 2 reorder items. Then I will be entering my 11th Fall season on QVC, which starts in July.

Friday, April 8th, 10am, will be hosted by Sandra and  the 11pm show will be hosted by Lisa…both shows should be quite lively!!….we should have a terrific time, and it will be the last time you see me in a sling! Now, for the clothes:

The Reorders:

1-A78354, is the poly/rayon/ span jacket with the french cuff. The new colors are navy with white buttons and aquamarine with white buttons. The aquamarine is a new color…. a light [not pale or washed out] aqua with a tint of green. In the  June show,  I will also have aquamarine separates in crinkle georgette and pebble crepe that will work back to this jacket.

2-A199262, is the cotton sateen floral print jacket. The new color is the red/white and, yes,  the new ivory pant with the red piping. does work with this jacket  The red/ white floral print short sleeve blouse with the tiny ruffles  works beautifully with this jacket, too. The red  short sleeve shirt with the mesh yoke is another alternative. Any of these tops combined with the pant and jacket would make  a wonderful outfit.

3-A199266, is the cotton shirt with the curved mesh yoke and the cotton stripping. The new color is olive and it works with everything. I love the olive with the olive mesh it’s…. safari…but not literally. It’s a great little top in any color.

4-A199801, is my cotton /span legging. I brought the legging back to QVC years ago…way before the craze! My buyer, at the time, didn’t even want to buy them, but I convinced her! The quality is great. The new colors are  coffee bean and olive…black, of course. Wear them with the anorak, the pebble crepe sleeveless tunic and the faux de chine safari jacket  from the last show. There will be lots of new things to wear them with, too. One suggestion…read the womens comments about fit. They fit close to the leg, as a true legging should….. If you like them super close….get one size down..they have lots of stretch. If you want the look, but you don’t want them snug…get your normal size….you don’t want a baggy legging!

The NEW items:

5-A214116….GET READY! THE CLASSIC MENS SHIRT……Same exclusive fabric as the Robyn shirt, same collar with stays [please remove stays before washing, ironing or dry cleaning]. It has a button front placket, one breast pocket, a two button cuff with a sleeve placket and single button and a curved bottom. This shirt is shorter than the Robyn shirt and it has body darts front and back for shape. The colors are the same white as the Robyn shirt and a new solid fabulous chambray blue, [if and when the boho gets reordered next year this will be one of the new colors]. The navy blazer with this chambray blue shirt, my winter white pant, an Hermes scarf and my gold chain jewelry [to come]….PURE CLASS!  If you belong to the “white shirt cult”, you must get more than one.

6-A213624,  is a wonderful new shirt in a beautiful new fabric. First the fabric…this is my faux de charmuese….97% polyester/ 3% span. If you loved my faux de chine,  you will love this. It is the closest thing to real silk charmuese that I have ever found, plus it’s washable and no wrinkles. It is very light weight.  If you live in a humid climate and you don’t wear poly….save it for the fall/winter…it’s that pretty. The style: it has a classic shirt collar with a stand. Below the stand is a working drawstring which gathers the front of the blouse for softness. It has a button front and side slits and I would say it is the approx. length of the Robyn shirt. It has a 3/4 length sleeve with an elastic. I will be showing it tucked into the boho skirt  with a wide belt, worn out over a pencil skirt and a narrow belt, and worn out and loose over capri pants. It would look great under jackets…like my new crepe jacket with the pearl buttons. The colors: champagne, frosted lilac and pale aqua, which looks great with the aquamarine reorder jacket. I love the look of pale charmuese in the spring. The fabric has a wonderful sheen and lights up the face.

7-A214119, is my faux de chine safari shirt dress. It is the exact fabric as my safari drawstring jacket…so, if you loved that fabric…you will love this….likewise, if you didn’t like it…then you should pass this. It looks very much like my equipment shirt from seasons ago…only long. It has a classic shirt collar and stand, placket button front, long sleeves with a 2 button cuff which can be rolled up with a tab and button,  two breast patch pockets with button flaps, a shoulder yoke, POCKETS, double row top stitching all over, side slits and a self tie belt. The colors are: olive and khaki, which are the same as the safari jacket and,….. aquamarine. I love it belted with the self belt or your own, unbelted  with the buttons opened a little more and a color tank underneath…….I also like it completely opened with a tank and capri pants……..lot’s of ethnic jewelry, a woven straw bag, great sunglasses and flat sandals, wedges or espadrilles to complete the look. For fall wear it with tights, boots and a complimentary turtleneck. For me this IS an ESSENTIAL.

8-A214118, is an easy fit T-shirt. It is in my cotton /span. It has a modest scoop open neckline, a short sleeve and it’s long enough to wear with leggings. The front is embellished with vertical rows of graduating antique brass discs. The center row being the largest and the discs become smaller in size as they get further from the center….It’s a fun, easy T. The colors are black, white and sage…all with antique brass.

9-A214117, is a crinkle georgette [think boho] safari shirt. It is sheer, so we have provided a matching faux crepe de chine separate tank…that can be worn on its own. It has two breast pockets with flaps and buttons, side slits and straight 3/4 length sleeves that can be drawn or rolled up and held with a tab and button. The buttons are REAL shell buttons that have the look of coconut shell. The colors are black and sage. I LOVE this piece because it’s easy and airy and yes, sexy!….and still, you are covered. It looks fantastic with my black, sage, coffee bean and natural pebble crepe crop pants. It looks equally wonderful worn loose or belted over my boho, my overlay skirt or my pencil skirts. There are many of you who I can think of who are going to LOVE THIS SHIRT. This is truly SUMMER CHIC!

Okay….what would a group be without a print!

For April I have done a  baby Cheetah print. What is the difference between this and my other animal prints? The baby Cheetah has much smaller spots and they are closer together….so the over all print is less bold, and it is a beauty that will last and be “IN” forever. For the jacket style, I revisited a very successful jacket from my Linea past. The style was A 69921, a cotton sateen jacket with 4 patch pockets and button flaps, a 3/4 turn back cuff and it came in black, ivory, brown, pink, red, navy, stone and more. It was reordered many times and I’m sure many of you have it in your closets.

10- A214115. This jacket has a classic notch collar, a 3 button front, 3/4 turn back cuffs, two top buttoned flaps and two lower patch pockets with buttoned flaps. It is totally unlined and beautifully finished on the inside with black piping on each seam. The colors are natural, which is a sandy, taupy ground with black spots, blue…which has pale to deeper blues with black spots [jean friendly] and kiwi, which has shades of green just like a kiwi fruit….again black spots. Wear it with a little black dress, a black tank and pencil skirt with the jacket closed and belted…. or any casual way you want…..the new classic white shirt and the black pebble crepe crop pant……shorts, capris, the “go with everything” black boho, the overlay skirt, the new crinkle georgette sheer safari shirt, etc., etc., etc. It’s a terrific little unlined summer throw on.

11-A214114, is the baby Cheetah print top….same jersey as the medallion and the new hydrangea print tops. The hand of this fabric has a new finish….a drier hand that I think you will love.  It has a true V-neck, 3/4 length sleeves and an easy shape. The colors are natural and blue….no kiwi. If you have never worn animal prints…this would be a good first piece. Again, great for travel…..wash and wear for sure , yet it is very sophisticated.

12-A214113, is the last of the Cheetah group and something new for me….a printed cardigan. It has a jewel neckline, and a short sleeve. The rib trims around the neckline, the button front, and the hem and sleeve bands are black. Little black buttons finish it off. The colors are natural and blue…. I will be showing the blue combo 2 ways….the first way is very classic….white tank, black capri pants. For the second way, I have belted the cardigan with a skinny black belt and the model will be wearing it over the new navy/blue mosaic reorder skirt. I LOVE the two prints together and it works because the colors are right on. This is something many would never even think to put together, but you would see it in the pages of ELLE MAGAZINE and go…”Oh, I love it this way!”. I can’t wait to hear your feed back. They are two prints that work surprisingly well together….but they do!

That’s it, folks………I hope there are some things that you find irresistible. It is very different from the things I had on my last shows , but  there are many things  that will work beautifully with your new purchases….Enjoy, Enjoy!

…………………………………………………….much Love Louis

Louis, as I countdown to your Friday shows I’m mentally mixing and matching your new pieces with those that I already have. I was happy to read that the limeade ruffled tank will work with the green Cheetah jacket. But I’m also wondering if the sand ruffled tank will go with the “natural” shade of the cheetah jacket and cardigan. I just love that tank – perfect for my warm, humid climate, so I bought all three colors!

  2. Victoria

Louis, a question…I have your aquamarine faux silk slub pants from several seasons ago…it had a jacket and also came in a khaki or beige color. I did not get the Jacket at the time..all sold out. Can you tell me if your notched collar blazer with the French cuffs or your Jacquard jacket with the mandarin collar in acquamarine would match or work with those slacks from several seasons ago?
    thanks
    victoria

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Victoria,
Unfortunately, they do not match with either jacket, but the pant would look good with the white zebra jacket…sorry….Louis

  3. farmerwife

Louis, you asked about our farming operation, and I answered, but you may have missed it, as I forgot to put my farmerwife name in the reply. We have a row crop operation of wheat, corn, soybeans, rice, and cotton. I left a little more detail about it in my other post. I enjoy the country life, but when my children got involved in so much at school, we moved in to town so I was not “meeting myself on the road” taking them back and forth to various activities. Farming life is a wonderful way for children to grow up, but I supposed I’m a little biased 🙂

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear farmerwife,
I didn’t miss your post! I loved reading about the varied crops your husband grows. It’s so different from the city life I have led. I moved into NYC when I was 18 and started Parsons School of Design. I guess you could call me a city boy.

  4. Carol

Louis–my wheels are turning again! LOL

Safari dress–I’m thinking of this in aquamarine, belted, with leggings underneath in either the olive or the coffee bean and matching espadrilles. What do you think?

Hi, I’m a newbe to the Linea line. I’ve been looking for quite a while for a line that I can continue to build from what I have already bought; and, also be stylish and on trend–not trendy. At last, Louis to the rescue. I purchased several items from the last show, some of which have not arrived as of yet. And…I’m already planning which items to buy on the 8th. I have to say that I’m very happy to have read the blog and linked to your website. I appreciate the preview of what’s up for the upcoming shows; it allows for planning and not having to make snap decisions only to regret some of them later.
Looking forward to the April 8th shows, and May, and June, and July………
    Bye for now–Sherry

Bought every hydrangea shirt and love all of them plus the skirt in navy, yellow and the jacket in yellow (thinking Easter). Wore the navy shirt this evening with pale gray jeans and your gray ribbon sweater. The “Robyn” shirt arrived today and I haven’t had time to try them on but love the style. All great shows!

  7. Victoria

    Louis,
Thank you for keeping us clued in about what’s up and coming. I want to thank you a thousand times for your gorgeous anorak. Every spring, I begin looking for a trench coat, because I needed a spring coat that I can take to New York, San Francisco and DC…but I kept hesitating because I really don’t want another trench…it just didn’t seem new…I bought the Sage Anorak and took it to DC a couple of weekends ago and it was sooooo perfect. All I heard from the Smithsonian to the Four Season hotel in Georgetown, was lovely coat, gosh, what a great jacket…where did you find that great coat!..I just bought the black one and I think there is a white one in my future:)) Women who do not get one of these will regret it. May I make a suggestion? I was in Europe and I bought this quilted jacket that is reversible…It paisley on one side and a beautiful brown on the other. The paisley is a background of a kind of frosted kelly green softened with a pale blue and a pale yellow..It is a cotton/poly mix …all the seams on both sides are corded and it has two flap pockets on each side. The jacket buttons to neck with a softly rounded collar, that is a stand collar. I always wear my collars up….I have had this jacket 5 years and never had it cleaned…It wears so well and seems never to get dirty or look worn…the paisley stands up to different trends in fashion it always looks good. I don’t think I have ever gotten as many compliments on any outerwear as this one. My girlfriends in their quilted Burberry jackets want mine. I am a casual jacket nut. I also have a cotton twill jacket in a kelly green with white over stitching on the seams with hardware frog closings. It is unlined, but has blue and white ticking on all the seams with just a blue and white ticking shoulder lining and about a five inch lining on the inside of the sleeves so you can turn back the sleeve. It has a mandarin collar which is also lined in the blue and white ticking. I bought it in a tiny shop on Cape Cod years ago …its getting old and the shop has closed….It is that heavy twill and I would love your version of such a classic casual jacket….I hope I am not insulting you suggesting ideas…but I think these are classics that we women like to keep in our closets. I am planning on getting your blue Chambray and white men’s shirt and the leopard v neck top. I must say I never wear short sleeved anything, so I do appreciate your 3/4 sleeve tops. Your frost Lilac is one of the prettiest colors I have ever seen. It is simply gorgeous…I got the both the Sand and Lilac Jackets with matching tops. The navy piped jacket and pants and the natual and black pebble crepe cropped pants.

    Hope you are healing well.
    best
    Victoria

  8. Donna

Oh – this all sounds so lovely, I can’t wait to see it in my house! I certainly hope you’re bringing in truckloads of the newest print – the baby cheetah. Thank you for bringing it!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Donna,
Honestly there aren’t truck loads of anything…so…if there is something you truly must have…you should order it just before the show…..I know this isn’t the ideal way to buy things, but there isn’t anything I can do…..it truly is out of my control…..best regards, Louis

  9. louisdellolio

    Dear Carol,
The wheels in your brain are certainly turning!!LOL
The LIMEADE tank looks FANTASTIC with the kiwi cheetah jacket….I’m only sorry I didn’t think of that…..That why I always say you must play with you clothes and accessories. Sometimes you make fantastic discoveries and create wonderful new combinations! As far as the pebble crops are concerned with the kiwi….. I only like the black. The sage is off and too light, the coffee bean doesn’t work and the natural is Ok but I prefer white much more. The Olive jumpsuit looks great as anything in dark olive would. I think the kiwi needs dark bottoms with limeade, black or white tops. For instance the new classic shirt in white with black Capri pants….perfect!….enjoy and keep combining…that’s how you really have fun with you clothes and make the ones in the back of the closet….new again. Regards, Louis

  10. Chris/Jazzmom

Thank you Louis for the preview! The baby cheetah tops in the 3/4 sleeves are calling me.

    1. louisdellolio

They are very chic and you can wear them under any black, navy, tan, chino, denim jacket you may own…..depending on the color cheetah you like…..Happy hunting, regards, Louis

  11. Norma

I am sick about not getting that ROBYN shirt. I had to leave for an appointment and poof, it was gone when I got home. I need the lenghth and where else can you find a navy shirt Dear Mr. Louis? Love your clothes. You are an outstanding person as is your lovely Jacque.
    Norma

    1. louisdellolio

      Norma,
Do not despair…..you must get the A214116, classic shirt on my next show. It has all the details of the “Robyn”….a little shorter….but just as important in your essential wardrobe. The white and chambray blue are wonderful!….regards, Louis

  12. Alexandra

Of course we’re all interested in the new things, but the re-orders are great too 🙂 For example… I have the A78354 jacket in Yellow (was on the waiting list for it), and it’s GORGEOUS, STUNNING, and the fabric quality is so delicious!!! I LOVE it, and want to get it in white and navy as well!!! By the way… I wanted to thank you, Louis for letting us know what was going to be in the March shows!!! I went on website before the shows aired, and that’s the ONLY reason I was able to get 2 sets of blazers and pants (the piped ones) in navy and pink, 2 Hydrangea tops (pink and navy), 2 pairs of pebble crepe cropped pants (in natural and coffee bean), and 1 pebble crepe top in coffee bean – altogether 9 items!!!

But I’m still looking very much forward to your pull-on full length pants… and because they are so very rare in the spring-summer light colors, I’m going to get ALL OF THEM!!! Are they going to be the June shows??? Please let me know 🙂

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Alexandra,
YES!!! the long pebble crepe pant will be on my BIG June show. As far as I’m concerned….these are the coolest, most comfortable, LONG pant a woman could wear in the summer. They will be in white, light tan and aquamarine…..I hope you enjoy them. I will, of course give more specifics as we get closer to the show…..I don’t even have a date and time yet!…..regards, Louis

  13. Quendiva

I would love to see an unlined blazer done in the new pebble crepe material in next Spring’s collection.(multiple colors, of course!) All your new fabrics are sensational!
Will QVC be ordering greater quantities of the new items featured on April 8th?

    1. louisdellolio

      Quendiva,
I think the unlined pebble crepe jacket is a TERRIFIC idea!
The quantities for all the spring/summer shows is approx.the same….so I for see some sell-outs………………………regards, Louis

  14. rhoda

I am loving too much- again. Would it be possible to tell us if any of the items runs large, or small, or typical Linea sizing- since that seems to be a major problem in your recent showings. I don’t know if the Q is responsible for this, but we, Linea Ladies want as few returns in your line, as well as making sure we get our proper sizing. For example, there has been much discussion about the sizing of the shirts (which we all love), and the crop pants with the piping and the pebble crepe pants, as well. According to many, the crop pants and pebble crepe pants are running quite large. The Robyn shirt many are sizing down. I have ordered all of the above, and am waiting for the items. If the comments are correct, then all of the items will be too big for me. I went by the sizes I have ordered in years past, but many are saying that doesn’t apply now. Any suggestions and guidance, on your part, will be greatly appreciated (as always).

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear rhoda,
Commenting on sizing can be very tricky. First let me say..I receive all of my samples in size XS…so it is hard to judge. They fit Jac perfectly and that is her normal size. In B&M stores she is a 6. In general, an elastic waist pant will fit easier than a plain waist banded pant. I have read all the comments about the clothes that have already been received and there are many who say they think the items you mentioned above fit perfectly, and yes others say they are running larger. My problem, in giving advise is…..it I say to size down…they may work for some, but others will find it too small. I would say for the up coming show…you should stick with you size. The only bottom is a legging [listed above] and the women can read other womens comment about size and fit. The are two garments that are easy fit, the T with embellishments and the crinkle georgette safari shirt. Both were designed to be easy….not close to the body. I supposed one could size down…one size in the T but I would not advise it in the sheer safari shirt, because the complimentary matching tank could be too small.I hope this helps….regards,Louis

  15. gardensla

Of course the LWS in both colors x 3 each (because with Linea you never know if the fabric will be available again) but I love the idea of the safari dress in aquamarine. That is a must have. Also the animal print sweater (love the short sleeve instead of a 3/4) in both colors and the mosaic skirt (wore last year’s to death). Looks like another round of snooze you lose in Linealand. See you next week. Kate

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi Kate,
Just so I didn’t confuse you by mentioning the mosaic skirt with the cheetah print……the skirt will be on my June show….enjoy you goodies!….Louis

      1. gardensla

I’ve pre-ordered the blue mosaic skirt so if it comes in June I’m good with that. Thanks for the clarification though!

  16. farmerwife

Once again, I feel the need to order at least one of most every thing you are showing. The dress is a must for me, just have to decide on color. Love the cheetah offerings, and the crinkle georgette safari shirt is a must. The t shirt is of interest to me as is the charmeuse shirt. Have not received any of the numerous things I ordered the last go round, but will be getting some of them tomorrow and the rest probably Sat or Monday. Your clothing is simply the best, and thank you so much for letting us in on the preview of the new things. I’ll have the computer on and fingers poised to order at the strike of midnight, or before if possible.

    1. louisdellolio

Dear farmerwife…enjoy you new things! What kind of farm does your husband have, or had? Dairy, produce???..When I was very young and my family moved to Long Island, NY….there were still lots of farms….both dairy and vegetable…..We used to love riding our bikes to the farms and playing in the barn….. and climbing on the stacks of hay….the farmer was really nice and didn’t mind this pack of kids! Within 10-12 years there wasn’t a farm left…..just more houses…..very sad and something today’s children will never experience or enjoy……Those were the best days!…..regards, Louis

      1. Anonymous

Louis, it is row crop farming. We raise corn, wheat, soybeans, rice, and cotton. Have had a few head of cattle in the past, but now it is just row crops. We lived out in the country on the farm for about 15 years, but now live in town and he “commutes” the 10 miles or so. I was raised in town, and as the 2 children got older, I found myself on the road constantly with all their activities, so we moved back to town. Those 2 children are now 29, she lives in San Francisco and is a research scientist, and 31, he lives in New York City and covers a major league sports team as a reporter. No upcoming farmers in our immediate family, but there are some relatives to take it over in the years to come. Farm life is great for growing kids to experience.

        1. farmerwife

forgot to put my name in, so you’d see the response. Also thanks for asking about the farming. Love your things and contrary to what some people believe, not all farmers wear jeans ALL the time, I enjoy being well dressed—you help with that for sure.

        2. Louis Dell'Olio

Sounds wonderful to me…..I only have one problem…..Hay Fever….

  17. MH-MN

Oh my! Oh my! Oh swoon!

And a question about A214119, the faux de chine safari shirt dress: What is the length?

As always, thank you, for all of it.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear MH-MN,
I measured my size XS shirt dress [with one arm] and I would say it is aprox. 40- 40 1/2 inches. of course as the size goes up the dress gets a little longer. Belted it will be a little shorter. I love the dress both ways belted or not. For spring/summer I think it is the right length……regards, Louis

      1. MH-MN

Thank you for taking the time. I’m so leggy! I hope that a medium will be at least 41 inches like the LBD (which lands an inch above my knees).

  18. Carol

Oh, I forgot to ask if there are any pebble crepe skirts coming this year?

    Carol

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi Carol,
The answer is no…..none planned for this year….Louis

  19. Carol

    Once again, I’m swooning!

Frosted lilac: jacket and tank on their way to me. The charmeuse sounds fabulous. Any new bottoms coming this season that will coordinate–plum pebble crepe?

Aquamarine: I have that new jacket and the color is awesome! I also have the equipment shirt in aqua (which is the old aqua) so I totally get what the safari dress will look like–and I’m in LOVE! Anything that comes in that color is going directly into my shopping cart.

Cheetah: Love that jacket shape and am intrigued by the kiwi–does this coordinate with the limeaid tank that’s on it’s way home to me? Or is it more like the spring green of the two-fer tanks? Does it look good with the sage or olive pieces (like the olive jumpsuit)?

Thanks for this wonderful preview. I just returned from my tax appt. I’ll know in a couple of days how much of my planned Linea purchases will be eaten up by Uncle Sam!
