Sorry to report I have to return the 2 swing cardigans as they were both huge. I ordered a large which should measure 42.5″ chest circumference. The raspberry measured 46.5″ and the grey measured 46″. The sleeves reached my fingertips, which almost never happens as I have beefy upper arms. I contacted customer service about this. It’s a lovely piece and am reluctant to order a smaller size. What do you advise?

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Sharon…it is a lovely piece and I think it is worth trying the smaller size, but that is up to yo. Try one color first and see how it works.Or order two in different sizes????

  2. Rochelle

Louis, do you anticipate more whisper knit skirts coming in your collection? I’d be interested to see one in the new heathered grey. Thank you.

    1. louis dell'olio

Yes for spring in the Milano knit stitch in Navy Ivory and Perfectly pink. This is the only stitch that isn’t see through in pale colors and ivory….If I do one for next fall, or I should say if they buy one for next fall I will definitely do the heather grey.

  3. Melissa

    Louis,

Are there any more items coming in raspberry? I haven’t ordered anything in that color yet, but based on the rave reviews I’d like to. I limited myself to two of the swing cardigans because I have bought so much lately. My closet is exploding with Linea. I got the grey and marine blue. They are a little roomier than the original swing sweater and I can’t size down since I’m already an XXS, but they are still fine. How could something so beautiful be so scrumptious and comfy!

Also wanted to comment on the new safari shirt. Got the ivory and it is a beautiful classic shirt that I’ll be able to wear for many years. I left a review on the Q this morning. I held off on the marine blue because I have a silk blouse in a similar style & color. As I told Goldie below, I washed my dry clean only silk blouse last night and it is a wrinkled mess. I am thinking your material will be much easier to care for. And after seeing the marine blue color in real life (the cardi), I went ahead and ordered the safari shirt in marine this morning.

Hope this shirt becomes as popular as the crinkle georgette one (which I have in 6 colors and wear almost year-round here in FL) so we get more colors.

I often wear jeans to work. Paired with your WK items or safari shirts makes it easy to look polished. 🙂

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Melissa…I think you’ll really love the marine blue shirt and you can wear the tank under your M. Blue swing sweater.

Hi Louis, I noticed on the website that the fabric content on the new swing cardigan A267864 is 77% rayon/23% nylon. I know you said this is a lighter weight WK. The fabric content on all previous Whisper Knits is 69% rayon/31% nylon. Can this fabric content difference account for the difference in the fit and the fact that they seem to be running large?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jane….the fiber content is different because of the thickness of each yarn. They are the same quality yarns that are used in the heavier weight but they are a different size to achieve the medium weight. There is also a lighter weight still but it is too expensive for me to use. The measurements of a cardigan are usually bigger for layering. Also, this med. weight has more drape and has more stretch, so it may feel bigger just for those two reasons along.

    Hi Louis,
I am having some sizing issues with the gorgeous swing cardigan as some others are mentioning in the reviews and forum. Since I am between a large and xl, I ordered 3 cardigans in the xl so I would have room for a t-neck or blouse. The size chart said the chest should be 46.5 inches. Mine measure an ample 48 inches. The 48 inch measurement is even larger than what the size chart says for a 1x. They are huge…way too big even with a blouse or t-neck. I was able to re-order the blue and grey in large, but had to go on wait list for the raspberry.

I also had a problem with mislabeling the size on one of the 4 tanks I ordered in size large. Three of the tanks were correct according to the size chart and fit fine. I already own this particular tank in other colors so I knew the large would be fine. The raspberry tank, however, was way too small. The measurements were that of the size medium. The replacement raspberry tank in size large has already arrived and fits fine, so it was a labeling issue.

I’m hoping for a good fit in the size large in the blue and grey cardigans which are on the way to me and am hoping for someone to return a raspberry in size large. I have the scarf from last year and was really looking forward to the matching cardigan.

I’m hoping this feedback is helpful so you know why there are so many returns. It’s too bad because this cardigan is gorgeous and just my style!

Louis, for some reason, I wondered if today was Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’s birthday. (I always confuse whether it was July 28 or 29.) After checking Wiki, I know that it is today.

Did you ever meet her or end up in her company? I just wondered. If so, what was she like? She has always been, for me, the gold standard of style and elegance.

    1. louis dell'olio

We were at some events together, but I never formally met her. She dressed simply but elegantly….very classic.

      1. Goldie76

Thank you so much for responding to the question. How exciting to have been at the same events with her. She certainly had an inimitable way of dressing; she had inborn taste, I think. I don’t believe her fashion sense was one that was learned; otherwise, she and her sister, Lee Radziwill, would have looked very similar in their dress. It seemed to me that other than sometimes wearing similar classic looks, each sister defined herself differently — a different palette, different jewelry, etc. I’m certain she perfected her style during her time in Paris, but I always felt she had a true core of personal style. There was no one like “Jackie.”

  7. Eileen

Hi, Louis, Here is a little story for you. In early July we flew to Paris for a 2-week vacation. Well, Air France lost my suitcase for about three days. Thank God I wore a whisper knit tank and cardigan because the temperature there was very cool. I wore your new ankle length pants with it and a scarf. I changed the way I wore the scarf every day and just for laughs asked people if they noticed the difference in my outfit. The clothes were terrific and no wrinkles, but four days wearing the same clothes, hmmmm. Even though I love your clothes, that’s stretching it a little! On the very last day I broke down and bought some clothes, and then of course that night my suitcase showed up.

On another matter, I just received the marine blue safari shirt and the whisper knit cardigan and the dingle dangle necklace. Every piece is wonderful, and the fit is perfect. I think I look better with a small shoulder pad, and the shirt is opaque enough so that I can do that, which I can’t with the summer shirt. I hope you will do this shirt again in the same fabric. I am thrilled with the way these pieces look. Thanks so much.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Eileen…..sorry to hear of your mishaps, but if there is any place to need new clothes…..Paris is the place. I am happy to hear you are pleased with the shirt the cardigan and necklace. I had high hopes for the new shirt, and the pre-chat was very positive, but it only got a lukewarm reception during the show so I doubt it will be coming back….too bad it’s a great shirt.

      1. That’s surprising to me about the new safari shirt, Louis. Just got mine in ivory and LOVE it! I will be wearing it with my fall/winter jackets. Just love the mix with the tweedier fabrics as well as with the gab of my two safari pants suits. Perhaps it was shown too early for women to be able to visualize how it can be worn?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I can’t say….an ivory shirt is seasonless, and they are georgette. This is actually easier to wear than the crinkle georgette,

          1. Goldie76

To be frank, I think the new safari set was a bit costlier than expected. I am not suggesting the set isn’t worth it, just that it would be a strain when we had already bought several other items. For those of us trying to pull in our spending, the price of the set made us stop, think and wait. Had you had an EZ Pay along with the introductory feature price, I think there would have been greater sales at the outset. Speaking for myself, I would have bought a set on EZ Pay, no matter what I had already purchased.

            1. Goldie76

Louis, I think I need to be a bit more specific about what’s going on with me. I’ve been buying here and there lately — including older items of yours from QVC — to stock up on what I need and what completes some of my monochromatic looks from you. Since I am heading toward retirement, I have the dual challenge of getting a wardrobe in shape and pulling in the reins of my spending. It is a hard act. And I probably am not alone in this. It isn’t as though I bought all that much from your last visit, but what I bought, along with other items recently purchased, added up. I really did want that new safari set.

            2. Melissa

              Goldie,

I just wanted to concur that I think the price may have kept some people from purchasing it. It was higher than I expected it to be, yet I bought it anyway because I don’t have a good classic ivory blouse in my wardrobe. However, after seeing it in person, it is a superbly made blouse. It looks expensive. As always, Louis pays special attention to the details, even the buttons are beautiful.

I had convinced myself I would only get one since I already have the smoke (too similar to the slate, imo) crinkle georgette (which I can pretty much wear year-round here in FL), and a similar color/style as the blue that is silk. I washed that blue silk blouse last night (even though it said dry-clean only) and it came out a wrinkled mess. That convinced me I need Louis’s easy care marine blue one. I get a lot of wear of these blouses at work. So easy to throw on with a pair of slacks/jeans.

I just placed my order for it in spite of the Q getting rid of the introductory featured price already. Kind of torqued me off, but I find that my size often sells out first so if I snooze, I lose…

            3. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Melissa….the price is higher than you expected because the fabric is a better quality. I could have made it cheaper by using another quality georgette and a faux shell button, which are expensive, but everyone keeps asking for better quality so this is it. The only reason the original safari shirt is at the price it is….is because it was first ordered a few years ago and we must maintain the same price for reorders which in these times is getting harder and harder to do. If I came out with that safari shirt this year it would be more expensive. At some point the factory will notify us that they can not keep manufacturing the shirt at the same price, and we will have to accept an increase or discontinue the style. Many styles over the last 15 years have been discontinued due to that reason.

            4. Goldie76

              Melissa,

I wish the safari set would be re-introduced with a feature price and three EZ Pays. REBOOT THE SAFARI SET!

(Thanks for supporting my thought on this set. It’s a beauty and the world needs to see it!)

            5. Melissa

You’re welcome Goldie. I was hesitant to bring it up, but I’m glad you did. 🙂

            6. Goldie76

              Louis,

I should have written, “PLEASE reboot the safari set.” Pardon my manners. Maybe there will be an EZ Pay for the new set someday.

              ~ Goldie

            7. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Goldie….as I explained to Melissa…..I could have made the shirt less expensive by using a cheaper fabric that didn’t drape as well and wasn’t a smooth to the touch. I could have eliminated the real shell buttons and used fake, but then I would have gotten complaints that the quality is going down. Unfortunately for all of us….the better qualities are getting more and more expensive and the cheaper qualities are really getting bad……raspy and stiff, especially for the georgettes that aren’t as see through.

            8. Goldie76

              Dear Louis,

I fully understand that having a quality safari set necessitated more expensive contents and, hence, a steeper price tag than we are used to. Oddly enough, I had thought about the crinkle safari set and concluded on my own that it, too, would be more expensive if re-costed for today’s market. When I receive one of the new safari sets (I know I’ll order a set sooner or later, probably sooner), I’ll be pleased that you selected quality fabric and buttons. Thank you for your dedication to quality, style and working within some tight bounds. We appreciate it. It is not realistic to expect fantastic merchandise at bargain prices. (Darn!) Would love an EZ Pay on it, though. My best, Maria

            9. louis dell'olio

Dear Goldie….if it were up to me everything would be on easy pay, and special pricing, but alas it is not. I am only the designer/vendor. All of those decisions are made by QVC.

            10. Grace

              Hi Goldie,

I haven’t pulled the trigger yet on this new safari shirt, which I LOVE, but it has nothing to do with EZ Pay. When I do, I’ll likely order all three colors. I think it’s one of those classics in a gorgeous fabric that doesn’t come along very often & it’s worth every penny. But, frankly, I’m still in summer mode and just (very) slowly thinking about fall. Mentally, emotionally…I’m just not there yet. Maybe others are in the same place? A “reboot” in August would help give it more exposure, but this shirt is on my “to buy” list with or without EZ Pay. Gotta have it! LOL

            11. Goldie76

This chic safari set may have started off with a whimper, but after reading Grace’s intentions to purchase all three, and knowing that Melissa was buying (or already bought) a second and that I intend to have at least one set, I have a hunch this snappy number will end up with a bang! I really do. LOL! The timing was off for it; I agree with Grace. Come August, this item will fly off the shelves.

  8. Jackie

Louis, I order the raspberry sweater and tank in size medium. The chest circumference on the sweater website says 39.5 but mine measures 44. I measured one inch below the seam (22″) and multiplied by 2 for the circumference. It is no wonder why the sweater is so large fitting. Some blog comments have expressed this also. I am sending it back and going on waitlist for a small. I wanted you to know because the color and styling are fabulous. It would be a shame if faulty sizing returns caused this sweater to be retired. By the way, the tank fit perfect.
Just thought you would like to know.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Jackie…this is very disturbing as I had high hopes for this sweater. 4 .5 inches is a lot….I will forward your letter to my manufacturer.

      1. nicklaus1

Unfortunately I had the same experience. Ordered the raspberry and gray cardigan and tanks in medium. Both cardigans measure 44 inches rather than 39.5 for chest circumference. The tanks fit great. Reordered the gray cardigan in a small but raspberry cardigan is on wait list in small. Gorgeous fabric and colors though.

      2. Jackie

Louis, I kept a photo of the sweater with the measuring tape…just in case.

      3. Sheesh

Me, too, Louis. The Raspberry Medium is gigantic—I think it is even bigger than a Large. I have no choice but to return it. So sorry this happened….

        1. Grace

Same for me, Louis. I could fit another person in the swing sweater–I got the heather grey & raspberry. Ordered my usual size, medium. So sorry the sizing is off…Tanks in my usual size fit perfectly.

  9. Writer with Flair

    Dear Louis,

I love the Nile Green color of the new Linea Leisure Vest (A267870). Will there be other pieces in this color?

    1. louis dell'olio

Besides the Hoodie there will be a stripe tn in cotton knit as part of the LL group…..sneak peek tomorrow.

  10. Tina

    Hello Louis,
I just received my first whisper knit tank and v-neck cardigan in heather grey. I can see why women rave over this knit. I will definitely be buying more. I would like a heather grey skirt that would be midi length for someone that is 5’ 3”. Will you be bringing one to QVC in the fall?
This was not my first Linea purchase. Your garments fit like they have been made especially for me and are so comfortable. So far my favorite purchases have been the one midi dress I got this season and the two maxi dresses I bought in previous years. Each time I wear them I get complimented.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Tina. I’m happy you liked your Whisper Knit pieces. I will not be having a WK skirt in this fall. 5’3″ is considered a petite length, and QVC doesn’t but petites from me, so any skirt I may do may have to be altered for your height.

  11. Happy Lady

Will A262028 Placement print poly/span top in Navy, Black, Walnut be presented on your next show 8/31? What a gorgeous top; I had to have all three colors. I love that you have done this style several types; it’s a winner. Clean, very slimming and so comfortable. This placement print is absolutely spectacular. Feels and looks like a million bucks. Wore the blue top the day after I received with white linen pants and 2 of your necklaces (don’t have item # available); compliments everywhere I went!
There are many inquires about the blue top. I have walked it through my closet to find all the shades of blue you pulled out of your pallet and incorporated in this fabulous print. I think Sapphire is the most prominent of the richer shades and love with your dark Navy or pure white. I am going to wear these tops to death. LOVE

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear HL….that’s great to hear….I’m glad to hear you like the tops…..Unfortunately I never know what the “planners” script into the show….it should be but you never know. I won’t know until 3 or 4 days before the show date.

  12. Happy Lady

Happy Monday Louis…Would you do a comparison for us on the new colors shown in the hoodie w/faux leather sleeves. Pomegranate-is this more merlot or wine or burgundy; I read your Nile green color description to CC in this thread. We all have the basic black but wondering if we have any clothing that you incorporated these new shades in.
Fashion just keeps recycling. I remember the tuxedo/racing stripe pants when they were the hottest thing going and they never really went away; just more sports oriented or black tuxedo wear. Very slimming and does draw the eye down the length of the legs, nice. Guess I’ll bring out all my tuxedo pants and wear in a new way. I bought some hi top hi wedge “sneakers” that will look fabulous with these new boot cut pants. Something for everyone. Thanks Louis

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear HL….the Pomegranate is a deeper more saturated color and more blue than the new merlot color in the reorder cotton knit tunic.

  13. MadameDuFiffers

    Hi Louis,
Probably asked and answered already, but is the original swing sweater coming back in the mulberry? Thx!
    Madame

    1. louis dell'olio

No….we decided to bring in all new colors and only repeat black.

      1. Kate

Any idea what month we can expect the swing sweater? Also, are you really only on ONE DAY in August?

        1. louis dell'olio

Dear Kate….it’s due in Oct, but since it’s a reorder style they usually post them as soon as they get processed, so I would assume the beginning of Oct. ….YES I am scheduled for a 4:00am and a 5:00pm show on Aug 31st, and you know the 4AM will be inventory items. I don’t know how they are planning to get all the items into one hour….unless they start asking me to come for “hits” on other shows, but as of now none are scheduled….that can change real quick!

          1. Carol

Somebody needs a hit, Louis, but it isn’t you. Just saying….

            1. louis dell'olio

              no comment…..LOL

  14. Rochelle

I hope you had a safe and uneventful drive home. Do you anticipate any skirts coming in your collection in petite proportions? I am waiting and debating the skort as it might give me that desired length. Given my 4’11” stature, pencil skirts are midis, midi skirts are maxis and maxi skirts often require tons of yardage removed professionally. It would be nice to have a pencil skirt that ends about 3-4″ shorter than my WKs currently do, but I also like the modesty, so I’m torn. My S.O. fusses that my skirts are too long, and would prefer them shorter. Usually reminding him about my lack of height quells it until he forgets again.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Rochelle. at 4’11” I think even petite lengths might be long. A skirt length that would be right for you would be a mini on the average woman. QVC does not buy anything from me in a petite size except the occasional pant. I think you should definitely give the skort a try. It does not look like shorts at all. It looks like a wrap skirt in the front and the back, and I think the length will work. This skort, besides Bermudas, is the shortest thing I make.I think you will always be in need of a good tailor. Do you know how to shorten clothes?

      1. Rochelle

I can do simple hems. I hemmed my petite WK pants 2.5 inches, but anything more substantial or requiring adjusting ease for the difference in taper is more challenging than my skill set. Is there any stretch/give in the skort? Is it less than the feather knits skirt? The bulk of my weight is in my front belly, which fluctuates in size through the the day. Another argument in favor of the lovely drape of your garments.

        1. louis dell'olio

There is a little stretch in the fabric, but the waist band is almost completely stretch. I think you should try it. You won’t be wearing anything tucked in, and if you get the matching short sleeve top you will wear it on the outside anyway.

  15. CC

Louis, I’m dancing like snoopy for the new Linea leisure vest. This is perfect.–you know how much I wanted one of your vests–YES with a double zipper. Saw the pictures and they sang out to me. Ordered black & pomegranate. The pomegranate looks like a rich “juicy” color. Yummy. Thank you so much+++

    1. new york karan

We are all excited about the new vest. Could you describe nile green? What colors go with it? Thank you for your consideration.

      1. louis dell'olio

Dear CC….it’s a color that I haven’t used before. It’s a cool blue green. It will work with any dark bottom…..black, navy, grey, walnut. I just wouldn’t put it with other green bottoms unless they were in the same family….for instance….I wouldn’t like it with olive. It looks best with either dark top colors or white to ivory. It would also look pretty with pale colors.

  16. Shan

My skort arrived today! I just left my 5 star review on QVC.com. I am a lover of skorts and this one is much classier than any I currently own. Then there is the fabric… It feels light with just a touch of something luxurious. You had me at skort but now you may have turned me into a skort snob. The other ones may need to move to the back of the closet.

  17. Melissa

    Louis,

First let me say belated happy birthday. Hope it was wonderful! Yesterday felt like it was my birthday. When I got home from work I had some packages awaiting me and I couldn’t wait to open them. Every single item was a win.

Terracotta spotted top – so pretty! May have to pick it up in aqua.
Placement print tops – the blue is beautiful and the walnut is so rich. Love these!
The zebra cardigan in moss – wow! Love it! If anyone is worried it is too short, have no fear. I have a long torso but thought it looked great layered over a black tank.
The textured tops in black and blue. Can’t pass up a black top like this that is edgy and classic. So glad I got the blue too to go with the zig zag skirt.
The textures dress in black. Wow! What a fab LBD!! Love!!!
The top and skort in black. What a surprise! I don’t do skorts. I rarely do shorts or skirts. I’m a jeans girl, even in Florida in the summer. But this is so cute and chic, going back for the coffee bean.

I will put my reviews on the Q.

Awaiting my swing cardis in marine and grey and safari shirt in ivory. My credit card needs a breather. But I know you have more fabulous things up your sleeve. 🙂

    1. Goldie76

Melissa, I received my zebra cardigan in moss yesterday and was impressed beyond measure. Yes, I anticipated that I’d like it but was surprised by just how much I loved it when having it in hand. For my stature, I, too, have a relatively long torso, but the cardigan is perfect for my needs. I’ve submitted a glowing, 5-star review for it.

      1. Melissa

Goldie – I know what you mean. I figured I’d like it but wasn’t sure I’d love it as much as I do. Can’t wait until I can wear it!

    2. louis dell'olio

WOW….you did have a Christmas in July! Isn’t it fun!!!I am so happy you tried the skort and top. You have to wear the top with your zig zag skirt too….they look great together. If you do belts, both the short sleeve top and the new safari shirts look great belted with the skort.

      1. Melissa

Thank you for the fashion suggestions. I will try them out! I only have a few belts, would love if you’d come out with some. 🙂

  18. Nancy (akaTheOwl)

Hi Louis. A267870 is up at the Q – the zip front knit vest – is now up for purchase. Hoping to see sneak peeks here. Will check back!

    1. Melissa

I too would like to know more about this. Am about to place another order for some more of your goodies and am contemplating this vest. 🙂

  19. nikki

    Hello Louis,
I just rec’d the gold necklace and its a beauty. I rec’d the skort and top in black what a beauty. WIll wear it tomm. Love all my new things including the zebra sweaters in moss and topaz.

I have another event to go to where the committee members are going to dress up in late august at a country club for a evening cocktails party. I was thinking of wearing the sequin skirt and top in black with one of my favorite jackets A213124 ( black with gold studs). The blacks match so that’s ok. WOuld you put those two pieces together? Also, would you put the herringbone tights or floral tights? any suggestions? I also was thinking of wearing the new lightweight gold necklace with it. I have to look great and I know your suggestions will help me.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear nikki…..I like the sequin 2 piece with the floral lace tights and the gold necklace. You will have to see if the jacket is too much. It will certainly work with the necklace but it’s all a little much with the floral tights……”gilding the lily” so to speak. Do you have the WK shawl in Black? That might be better in August than a suede jacket unless it’s very cool. You’ll have to see how the jacket looks when it’s all together. You may want to consider the open front draped cardigan in black….the one without buttons….that would be perfect and very chic….I love sweaters with sequins.

    2. louis dell'olio

nikki please don’t forget to write your reviews and let the ladies on the forum know about your new goodies, especially the skort and top and Zebra sweaters, because these pieces didn’t get any sell time.

      1. nikki

So would you put the sequin 2 piece with the cotton jacket A213124 and just plain tights and gold necklace or even that would be too much? Thankyou for the information. I am writing the reviews as soon as I finish here. Shawls and sweaters, although lovely, might be too much for the summer I think.
        thankyou

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I was thinking of a different jacket. This cotton jacket might be a little sporty in the cotton with the sequin skirt and top…..do you have the black bolero sweater or shrug. They are just as light as the jacket . I think with the lace tights and necklace they would work better.

“It’s the time of year desperate women rely on cardigans, pashminas and space heaters to make it through the workweek in their frigid offices. And their male colleagues barely notice.”

(from a “Washington Post” column this morning titled “Frigid Offices, Freezing Women, Oblivious Men: An Air-Conditioning Investigation”)

Keep those cardigans coming, Louis. You will be not only the King of Color but also the King of Cardigans. Thank heavens for you and James Brudewell, the 7th Earl of Cardigan!

    1. Goldie76

Brudenell, not Brudewell. All I know is that the Crimean War gave us not only the cardigan, but raglan sleeve (Lord Raglan) and the balaclava. Who knew war and fashion had such an intimate relationship?

      1. louis dell'olio

don’t leave out the “trench coat” which was designed for the men in the trenches by Burberry during WW1

        1. Goldie76

Omigosh, yes! My favorite coat style, to be sure. That coat is probably the grand palooza of all the fashions that came from war.

          1. Lee in Minnesota

Fashion history fans unite! May I add the wrist watch? I know we are talking clothing but as Mr. LDO has offered us some simply wonderful watches — although it was designed at the very start of 20th century, apparently it didn’t really catch on until WWI when soldiers found it ‘less hazardous to their health’ to quickly look at their wrists rather than digging in their pockets to find a pocket watch.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Thank you Lee….I didn’t know that

          2. Elaine

Goldie and Louis, don’t forget Cartier’s Tank Americain watch. A beauty for sure!

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

I have a Tank watch, but don’t know the history. Don’t tell me it was use by tank operators!

            2. Elaine

Louis Cartier was inspired by the army tanks of WWI. The metal version resembles the tracks of the tank. I treated myself to one after my Dad passed away, he was a Tanker in Gen. Patton’s 3rd Army in the Battle of The Bulge. It’s a fond reminder of him.

            3. Louis Dell'Olio

That’s very interesting, and I can certainly see it. I have a new appreciation of the watch.

            4. Sheesh

              This from Cartier’s website:

Louis Cartier created the Tank watch in 1917. A legend was born. The first prototype was presented as a gift to General Pershing some years before the watch was introduced into the market in 1919. The lugs blend seamlessly into the bare edges of the flat vertical brancards, giving the watch its unique aesthetic. The clean, crisp lines have proved hugely popular with a free-spirited, elegant clientèle. The now-iconic Tank watch has inspired countless variations, yet managed to preserve its distinctive identity.

            5. Sheesh

This from Wikipedia (which is never the definitive authority, mind you, as anyone can edit/post on Wikipedia).

The Tank is a line of watches made by Cartier. It was created by Louis Cartier in 1917, and inspired by the new Renault tanks which Cartier saw in use on the Western Front,[1] and the prototype watch was presented by Cartier to General John Pershing of the American Expeditionary Force.

The tank was introduced in 1918, and entered full production in 1919, when a total of six pieces were built.[2] Its lines and proportions are similar to those of tanks found on First World War battlefields; it is both a square and a rectangle, and its strap is seamlessly integrated into vertical sidebars called “brancards”. Since its inception in 1917, countless variations of the watch have been released by Cartier, including the Tank Louis in 1922, the Tank Americaine in 1989, and the Tank Francaise in 1996. The defining features of a tank watch include its bold Roman numeral dial with a chemin de fer chapter ring, sword-shaped blued steel hands, and a sapphire cabochon surmounted crown.

The Tank has become one of the most highly coveted and copied wristwatches of all time, and has graced the wrists of such style icons such as Jackie Kennedy, Princess Diana, and Yves Saint Laurent, amongst countless others.

Hi, Louis. I just wanted to tell you that I think there is a contender to knock Perfectly Pink out of first place in the color competition—and it is Heather Grey! Everyone is going gaga over the Heather Grey. We’re all talking over on the Q Linea Forum about the other WK pieces we’d like in the Heather Grey and people are talking about ordering duplicates of pieces, as well. Naturally, we’d like a WK T-Neck and a V-Neck just for starters. We need bottoms to go with–how about a WK Pull on Skirt—or did the PTB say no more? I won’t even dream of a WK pant because we know the answer there already, unfortunately. But how about some other pants? Anything coming in the Fall/Winter line-up that will rock the Heather Grey?

Have a save trip down and back to PA.

    Sheila/Sheesh

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Shelia…..Almost all of your wishes will come true. A TN and a V-neck for sure! A boot cut pant and blazer all in a woven H Grey and more surprises through the Aug, Sept, Oct period. By the time the weather changes and you will be needing these things you will have them in your closet.

      1. Sheesh

Be still my heart! Thank you, Dear Louis.

  22. queendiva

Hello Louis- What a guy. It’s your birthday, and yet we are getting the gifts!
The high/low tunic in terracotta was first to arrive. A winner! Please make the next one with a very modified cowl, or turned down neckline. The V on this new tunic is wonderful.

  23. Marie

Louis, I have been out of touch for too long, posted your birthday greeting on the other comment page and now see this was a better place. Trust you had a wonderful day. Wishing you good health and happiness. Classics

Louis, A259103 Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Wing Collar Blouse–Finally got white and blue. These blouses are perfect. They look so much more expensive and fit correctly everywhere. I would very much like to get it in pink but it is sold out. Will pink be reordered?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Yoko…pink has not been reordered. I could only bring two colors back so it was a 50/50 choice and I went with the blue. The new light tan is beautiful too and perfect under everything and great on it’s own.

      1. Happy Lady

I received A259103 Wing Collar Blouse in light tan yesterday and LOVE. What a gorgeous color; going back for 2 more. I have hanging with A265615 Knit Pull on Slim Ankle pants in light tan and what a beautiful outfit. The colors are as close to matching as you can get considering they are different fabrics.(That’s what I’m wearing tomorrow with a pale ivory cotton/silk blazer and brown accessories. Wish I had my chocolate dingle dangle necklace. When I get something new I have to wear asap. This wing collared blouse is one of my favorites. I have 2 in each color and bought 2 more whites and cut the sleeves out. I know, but it works for me. In hot Georgia I need to get rid of layers since I wear a lot of blazers and suits to work. I always feel a little Diane Keaton with my winged collar and layers of pearls. Light tan was a good choice; once other’s receive this color they are going to love. Thanks, Louis

        1. louis dell'olio

Dear HL….Georgia?…why did I have it in my mind you were from NYC…..LOL….I thought the same as you did…that the light tan shirt looked great as a color, and wonderful with the light tan [khaki] pant. I actually showed them together on Angela on this past 2:00am show with the wine Ponte blazer with the hood. When you cut the sleeves out how did you finish the armhole? I did a sketch of a wing collar sleeveless shirt just like that, but they didn’t pick it?! Enjoy your new things I I totally understand wearing them as soon as you get them….why wait!

          1. Happy Lady

You had in mind NYC because I am a big city girl. My husband and I are attorneys and worked in NYC and Phila and had a horse farm in northern NJ. He wanted to move south and it’s not working too well (totally a selfish move on his part; he’s a golfer and I am not). The firm has a satellite office here in Atlanta so I gave in and we moved to hotlanta and I so hate hot weather. Think we’ll be moving back to the north east. Any way, when I cut the sleeves off I make bias strips out of the sleeves and do a self binding turned under and top stitched. I do a nice finish and can wear sleeveless. I really like sleeveless shirts in my wardrobe. Sorry sleeveless shirts don’t seem to sell that well. Love the winged collar, so smart looking. Wish the buyers would just listen to you and buy what you want them to. You see the big, on going picture with your collection and it seems they don’t. Have a Happy Birthday month. You are a true Leo. I am middle child and a true Libra.

            1. louis dell'olio

Dear HL….Your story is not the first I have heard of couples moving south because the husband wants to play golf! Then they start getting shoulder and knee pains and can’t play…LOL What you need is a nice two bedroom apt in NYC. The Meat Packing district has many new wonderful buildings going up, and there are lots of shops and restaurants…and he can keep a smaller place in hotlanta for the winter…….come on up!BTW….the horse farm sounded wonderful!

  26. WENDY A.

    Happy belated birthday Louis!

  27. Luvitorleaveit

Hi Louis I guess I missed it but Happy and Healthy Birthday to you and many more! The shows were fabulous as usually and flowed with ease I taped them to watch later when I got home from work. I totally enjoyed Pat as the host since she asked the models what size they were wearing for those out in t.v. land; Maria seemed a little startled when she asked her what size she was wearing but that’s besides the point; of course I ordered yet another smaller haul – I just got a big haul in last weekend that I have yet to put away (lol).

  28. Jules Knickerbocker

Happy Happy Birthday LDO! With every new collection you bring I feel like its my birthday! Wish we could add some fireworks or flowers or party hats to our posts here as these look like sad little birthday wishes but I hope you know the PARTY we are all throwing for you in our imaginations. Hope your day is spectacular! 🙂

  29. Tricia

Louis, please tell whatever happened to A-263355, WK tunic published on Feb 22, 2015. I have waited for the sage green and cinnamon versions forever. Has this gone to the UK customers? Please reply on this matter and do try to offer more XXS as they vanish so fast. Also interested in your venturing back to proper pumps to finish off your lovely outfits and how about making a small army of substantial blouses for winter season in white and Jean Muir nuance colors. Do I sound bossy? Well I so depend on your polished wardrobe. Thanks awfully!

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Tricia…the tunic sweater will be coming in August. As far as how many units are bought per size that is totally up to the QVC buyers. It’s their $$$$ and they make those decisions. I can say the xxs and the 3x are the sizes that the fewest ordered.I will have two new blouses in substantial fabrics this fall in Ivory. What do you call Jean Muir colors….grayed pastels? As for pumps….shoe boots look much newer and the Q has very few pumps to choose from….Even Mark Fisher, their most forward shoe line, doesn’t have many pumps avail.

  30. NJlady

Happy Birthday. Sure Jac has special plans for you.
    Loved the shows.
Trying the Skort and v neck swing sweater.
Would you hang sweater or fold?

    1. louis dell'olio

FOLD!……but as few folds as possible.

  31. Linda in AZ

Hello Louis…I want to add my best wishes for your Birthday celebration with Jac. Have a fabulous year, filled with many blessings. I also want to say how much I am enjoying the new items that I have received this year. Love the new top in peacock, flame and fuchsia. It is stunning with white pants now, and will be equally lovely with pencil skirts in the fall/winter here in Arizona.

  32. Sharon

Hello Louis, I want to wish you a Happy Birthday! I’m one of your sweater girls and I might be considered a collector too.i was wondering about the swing sweater and the new colors it’s coming in. I have all the colors now and I love that sweater.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Sharon….it is a wonderful sweater so I will be bringing it back in Black plus FOUR new colors…..MERLOT….PERFECTLY PINK….IMPERIAL VIOLET…….and TOBACCO. BTW one of the new colors my tights are now avail in is the TOBACCO. I see the tobacco sweater a black skirt or pant….the tobacco tights and a shoe boot for the skirt and a flat skimmer for pump for the pant….that way the tobacco tights can show. I decided not to bring back any of the original colors, except for black, so I can add all new colors with each reorder. So, if it should be reordered again I will not repeat these new colors. I will continue to just add new…..Moral of the story….get them while you can…..LOL….they will be avail for my Oct show or sooner since it’s a reorder. Check to see once in a while if they have been added to the inventory…. closer to the end of Sept.

      1. Sharon

Thank-you louis you made my day. I am so excited about the new colors I will have to have them all and my favorite pink I will have to get two. I really need to buy some tights this season because they sold out so fast last season. I ordered two new swing sweaters but I know they are lighter weight than my favorite but I’m sure I will like them and I love the matching pant for the total look. Add a scarf and jewelry and it’s a no brainer. I must say that this birthday stuff is hard to celebrate after a certain age because I know you can’t go backwards can we.

  33. Joyce Adams

Happy Birthday, dear Louis. I am wearing today a jacket I purchased in 2001 – palm printed olive pattern with some hot pink and aqua. In 2015 I have updated it with the palm jewelry!! It’s a “WOW”. Yes, the jacket is 14 years old and as good as new. I also have the olive linen-y skirt with drawstring waist, still a length that is in style, and a style that is in style! You mean it when you say your clothes are “classics”. I can’t bear to part with any of your pieces, no matter how old. I hope you continue to design for many more years.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Joyce…..I remember that print well…If I remember correctly there were real silk crepe de Chine tops in the solid colors that coordinated. I think it was a linen/rayon blend? I would think the Palm jewelry would be ideal with it. That’s the perfect example why collecting accessories is so important…..They can revitalize clothes that are even 14 years old

      1. Anonymous

Yes, linen rayon blend for the jacket and skirt. I have many of your real silk blouses from “back then”. The fabulous color blocked ones – I still have them and wear them, and I do have a pink silk crepe de chine blouse that I wore with the palm printed jacket, but more recdently have been wearing with the whisper knit shells. And the palm jewelry! I also have the boiled wool jackets with leaf appliques (in all colors) which are still stunning and contemporary. As I said earlier, I can’t bear to part with any of my Linea pieces and would be embarassed for anyone to see how many pieces I have. I could start a museum!!! love, love, love!

        1. louis dell'olio

You have a little treasure trove…..and there’s no reason to give any away. These clothes never go out of style…They are so easy to update with different bottoms and tops…..and accessories!

  34. Enjay

Hi Louis quick question … will anything else be coming in raspberry? I’m buying the olive shawl (already have and love the black), and I’m wondering if I should also pick up the raspberry.

  35. Sheesh

Happy Birthday, Louis! It was a great show yesterday with Pat. I enjoyed it very much and wish it could have been 2 hours. I ordered 9 new pieces—I’m soon going to need a bigger house—seriously!

    1. louis dell'olio

Hi Shelia….are you still in Mass or are you traveling again? The weather today is wonderful, and it must be fabulous up there. Hope you love all when you receive them.

      1. Sheesh

I’m home in Longmeadow, MASS today, Louis, and the weather is indeed stunning today—all windows open and a lovely breeze. I was in Dallas earlier in the week and tried to get back home to watch the 2:00 AM show on Wednesday, but my flight out of Dallas was late taking off due to malfunctioning AC and I missed the connection in Chicago so I was stranded overnight and had to go to Hilton, but, alas, no QVC on their cable—plus I had to get up at 5:00 AM to catch the first flight out to Hartford/Bradley, so I was a no show for your 2:00 AM show!

Four of my new items already arrived–the Topaz Zebra Sweater in Medium is perfection! Loving the Black/Grey Placement Print Tunic. And the new Raspberry and Heather Grey Tanks. That Heather Grey is killer–nothing does it justice—it is swoon worthy in person—so rich, so elegant. I’ve got the matching Swing Cardigans on the way—and I already have the Raspberry Shawl. The final three pieces are the Green “Bandage” Top and Skirt and the Black “Bandage” dress. May go back for more of those pieces when I am certain of the sizing.

Enjoy your birthday celebration—I think we’re just about the same age.

        1. louis dell'olio

Dear Shelia….the JOYS of traveling!…..enjoy your new goodies…Off to celebrate my Birthday!

Your birthday is July 23, I believe, so this greeting is intended to usher your celebration in a bit early.

  49. Ann

Hi Louis, Happy Birthday, great shows today. My question is regarding A266302 the top that matches the skort, what can you tell me about the fit of this item? I am normally a medium, have lost some weight, but find it hard to believe I would wear a size small. My bust is 39.5 hip measurement is 38.5. According to the click here measurement guide on QVC, the small has a chest of 40 with a sweep of 43.5…can that be right? The medium has chest of 42.5 with sweep of 46. It states is a woven with 10% spandex, so I assume there is stretch. If so I will order the small, if not I’m afraid the medium will be too large and hang “funny” on me. Any advice? Thanks for your time.

    1. louis dell'olio

According to the info you have given I would say the sm should be fin. This is a woven not a knit so even though it ha 10% spandex it doesn’t stretch like a sweater garment. The med seems very big in the hip for you.I really don’t like giving fit advise because every one likes things to fit differently.

      1. Ann

Thank you Louis for your response. I appreciate that you do not like to give fit advise, site unseen, lol. I am going to order the small in this top, in the moss, it goes perfectly with the skort for a casual look which is my lifestyle here in the midwest, and I can wear it with many other things in my closet as well. If it’s the correct fit for me, I will order the other colors as well. Thanks again and have a fabulous birthday.

  50. debby

Saw the 4:oo show – thanks again for the info about the shell (can be worn backwards)- you really take care of us with great style, attention to detail, and info – the best!!! Debby

  51. Kate

I have those open toe Marc Fisher booties you showed this visit and I would never have thought to put them with a fancy tight like the lace or herringbone. But, I get it! What a cool, edgy look. Bought an extra pair of black lace just in case. Other than the new colors in the solid tights, are there more tights coming? Guessing there will be no order of the Animal Instincts?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes there is one new style coming….a Tuxedo stripe. Plus the two new colors in the tights and leggings

      1. Enjay

I love your tights – already bought the olive and the reordered grey. Looking forward to tuxedo stripes!

  52. Beryl

Happy, happy birthday dear Louis. Great shows today.

  53. LINDA

WHERE CAN I FIND THE BELT …NAVY WITH CHAINS …THAT THE MODEL WORE WITH THE
Whisper knit buttonfront striped cardigan…IVORY AND NAVY..ON THE WEDNESDAY
    MORNING SHOW?

  54. Teri

Hello, Louis. Great shows. Even better, my Linea Leisure hooded jacket in tobacco with faux leather sleeves arrived today. It is an amazingly flattering jacket; so much so that I just studied to decide what made it so attractive. No matter, I don’t have to understand it enjoy it. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this collection!

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Teri….so glad you got the new hoodie….there will be some fun coordinates coming!

  55. MadameDuFiffers

  56. Mimi G

Hi Louis. Just wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday. Enjoy!!

  57. Dodie

Hi Louis: just watched the recorded 2am show… Any info on those TERRIFIC Linea leisure pants with the racing stripe??? I MUST HAVE THOSE (several!). I can’t have missed them on your sneak peeks here (can I). Imagine those will on -line only? Can’t wait! Thanks for any info. Have a.ready preordered several items and looking forward to this afternoon and actually seeing what I ordered. Safe trip home to you and Jac….

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Dodie….the sneak peeks will come in Aug. It’s a boot cut pant and it will be in three of the colors to match the new hoodie with the faux leather sleeves.

  58. NJlady

    Hi Louis,
I am also confused as to which size to get in the Safari Top and Tank. I am normally a Medium
once you switched to Numerical #’s – things are right in between the 10 and 12. Very confusing which to order
    HELP

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

My best advice is what I said to Love Linea, Measure your safari shirt and compare the measurements to the new shirt. Buy the shirt that comes closest. QVC has found that the returns are much fewer with numerical sizing.

  59. Ginny

Hi Louis, I recorded the 2am show and watched it first thing this morning. It was a great show. I have a question about the belt shown with the white and navy striped sweater. Is it available for purchase? Also, have you ever considered adding belts to your QVC lineup? I would surely buy and I’m certain other Linea ladies would too!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Hi Ginny….the belt was from eBay …….I would love to add belts if I could.

  60. LoveLinea

    Dear Louis,
Hope you see this question before the shows. I love your new safari shirt and tank set! However, I’m confused about what size to order in your numerical sizes. I wear an XL in the georgette crinkle shirt and tank set. What numerical size would correspond to the XL in the original georgette crinkle set? I want to order all of the new colors. You are a genius, Louis!
    Best,
    LoveLinea

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I’m not really sure . I think you should either ask customer service or look at the measurements and compare them to your crinkle shirt, and see what measurements are the closest

  61. LoveLinea

    Dear Louis,
You might not see this question before the shows but I love the new safari shirt and tank. In your georgette crinkle shirt and tank, I wear an XL. I’m confused about the correct size to order in the numerical sizes. Please advise what size in the new style would correspond to the XL in the crinkle shirt and tank. I want to order all of the colors.
    Best,
    LoveLinea

  62. bonnie

Hi Louis. You may not see this in time, but with regard to the new tunic in aqua terracotta and grey, should we order true to size. I’m between XL and 1x. See you tonight on QVC plus and tomorrow!!!! Love your line!!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Bonnie….just checked in before we leave for the Q. Did you get the ombré tunic, if so get the same size….if you’re in between sizes it’s hard for me to give advise. Perhaps ladies who own the ombré tunic top can add their insite. I would say xl, but they would know better. I’m afraid the larger size will be too big.

      1. bonnie

Thanks Louis! You took the time to reply — so nice!! See you soon!

    2. queendiva

If I may: my terracotta tunic arrived yesterday. Love it!
I would go with the XL. Generous fit. Perfect for over leggings!

  63. WENDY A.

    Dear Luis,
Anxiously awaiting July 22 show date. Thank you for the sneak peeks and inside info on free S/H. I have enjoyed wearing my Linea wardrobe this summer.

  64. Tricia

Please Louis bring back the A-259620 swing sweater in your navy as I have the WK skirt to wear with it. Thank you and best regards to my best and only designer. Tricia

    1. louis dell'olio

Actually, it was never in navy, but maybe in the future

      1. Maia

Another vote for Linea navy for the swing sweater!
