Louis, Enjoyed your shows yesterday. As you may remember, I asked about the beads shown with the chili pepper and you said they were from India. I have a lot of your jewelry and have collected over the years so there was not any problem finding something to wear with the chili pepper linen suit and the safari shirt in chili pepper. I just wanted the beads, so I went shopping at the craft stores and i made myself two necklaces and I am amazed at how well they turned out. I used your picture as an inspiration but found different beads, but the same overall feeling. I would love to send you a picture, but am wondering if you have a mailbox at the Q.????? Anyway, where there is a will there is a way and I am thrilled with the outcome. I am awaiting the arrival of the palm frond necklace. I have been a fan of yours for many many years.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear DeLois….I do not have an address at the Q, but you can post your pictures on my face book page.

      1. DeLois

I will try in the future…… I may need to get help as I am not an expert on Facebook…….Thanks

  2. Sherry

Morning Louis, will the Dk Tan WK pieces work with the Twig linen blend pieces, or are the Latte WK pieces a better match? BTW, absolutely love the Embroidered tunic in Black/Dk Tan with the Dk Tan ankle pants that Jac had on yesterday!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sherry…..I like the latte better with the twig. The Dk. Tan works with the Dk Tan Cotton Sateen jacket and crop pant coming up in May.

      1. Sherry

Thanks, just what I needed to know….I think the rest of the WK colors with the exception of the Butter are up for ordering.

      2. Sherry

Will there be any WK Coffee Bean cardigans in the coming months ahead?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

No, the only coffee bean cardigan is the open front one that is available now

  3. Sherry

Hi Louis…do you know approximately when you are on tonight?

  4. Judy

I am so excited I can hardly type! I just saw your sneak peek whisper knit pants. I love and wear lovingly the ones I own. I can hardly wait for fall for these babies to arrive. What colors can we look forward to? I will not make the same mistake and only order one pair per color. I will order double in every color offered!

  5. Kate

First, my long palm necklace(s) arrived today and they’re spectacular. Going to mix my metals on this one!

Second, the tunic shown this morning is just so ideal for summer that I’d jumping the gun and requesting next year one in pure white with a choice of colored embroidery!

    1. nikki

I was just thinking the same thing in white or any color or even a variation of this. I bought all three and look forward to wearing them all summer long. I love these kind of flowy tunics for the summer. I did see Tory Burch’s tunic, yours is so much more beautiful and ofcourse so much more affordable. LOVE IT.

      1. Kate

I wouldn’t mind a pair of flowing drawstring pants in the fabric, by the way!

        1. Anonymous

They could always wear their own tank

    2. Anonymous

That fabric in pure white may be see through…..that ‘s why I didn’t ‘t do it in white.

      1. Kate

Ah, I guess that would be a problem for some (but not for me!). Thanks for answering the questions.

      2. Sherry

A nude Spanx solves a multitude of sins…LOL

        1. Kate

Or in my case, just a lack of modesty!

  6. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

For Easter Sunday Louis, I wore your gorgeous jacket in blush – A233851 – over a vintage black funnel neck 3/4 sleeve CitiKnit pencil skirted dress I own. But what really knocked the socks off was that instead of your perfectly pink pearls, I paired it with your mocha mist pearls. WOW! Those gorgeous pearls took on some pink blush of their own next to the blush jacket and it was a more subtle combo and I got all KINDS of admiring comments on the combo. THIS is why I love and wear Linea all-the-time!

  7. Quendiva

    Hello Louis,
Again this Easter I wore last year’s A221793 sweater and A221794 skirt.
I am not much for skirts and wear them infrequently. That skirt may be my all-time favorite Linea skirt, even more so than the iconic Boho. It looks as good on my shorter self as on a tall woman like Jac. So very timeless, flattering and comfortable. Would you pleas, please consider doing the style again in a collection for next spring? Many thanks.

  8. Susan

WOW WOW WOW! I got my gold palm frond short necklace yesterday & it is so beautiful! Took my breath away. I feel so lucky to own it. Also wanted to thank you so much for your age appropriate but modern designs. I am 60 & When I walk through the halls at work in my blue Russian watercolor print dress with your blue faux raw silk zip front jacket with the ruffle I just feel fantastic. Along with all of your wonderful whisper knits & innovative casual designs I am perfectly dressed all the time where ever I go. Ah- & if it’s not too late – for spring whisper knits I was thinking a vivid, clear periwinkle and a pretty springy, leafy green. (Not pastels). Again – you are the best!,

    1. Maia

Louis, the color of the wrapper of a Ghirardelli dark chocolate with sea salt caramel filling is the periwinkle I (and maybe others) have been dreaming of! Might be fun research for you to check out – lol! Thank you.

      1. Anonymous

I know the chocolate, but don’t remember the wrapper

  9. Goldie76

Happy Easter, dear Louis. My goldtone Palm Leaf (a.k.a. Palm Frond) necklace arrived today. It is exquisitely beautiful. How I love the way it lies in the decollete area. As a height-challenged lady, I was delighted that I could successfully wear this gorgeous necklace that makes a very strong, yet tasteful, statement. Shorter Linea Ladies should not hold back on this one, to my way of thinking.

You outdid yourself on this one.

    Thank you, Louis.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Goldie76…..I am so pleased you like your necklace, and that you received it so fast! I realize that it is more expensive than most of my normal pieces, but these VERY SPECIAL pieces and are worth every penny….and since so few were made it is very exclusive. I wouldn’t be surprised if maybe there are three women in your entire state that has one…..wear it well….and Happy Easter to you and yours.

  10. Jazzbabe

    Hi Louis,

I have the mambo dress in black which is great and am thinking of getting the coffee bean. Will the coffee bean match the animal print blazer in taupe? Thanks.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jazzbabe….I checked my samples and the taupe is lighter than the coffee bean, but I think the colors are compatible…..it also looks good with the twig linen blazer if you have it.

      1. Jazzbabe

Thanks so much for checking. Perhaps I’ll get the blue instead of the coffee bean. I hope you had a good Easter.

  11. Sharon

Hello Louis, I see the lace jacket is back in the new ivory. I have to tell you I would love that jacket in the ivory but it is only 25 inches long in the 2x . I wish you could in the future make that jacket longer and lined and I would be a Happy Lady. Happy Easter !

  12. CC

A25340 wk SS sweater in new turquoise paired with last year’s nectarine v-neck wk tank and white pants. I am surprised, it is Amazing! The nectarine & turquoise is such a fresh look. I’m sure you already knew this, but I’m loving it.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I didn’t know, but I’m not surprised. I’m sure it looks good with the lime from last year too. I love those colors in the summer with white.

  13. Sherry

There’s an email that the Q sent out showing the 3 new pieces of denim…better get what you want while the getting is good…well maybe not on the jean…half the sizes are already on waitlist.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

They were waiting for the e-mail to hit before they posted the clothes

  14. Cela

    Hi Louis,
Please tell me what material the embroidered tunic is made of: is it the SAME as the tank that comes with the georgette safari shirt?
Also, is THE NEW BLACK drape front cardigan going to match the black ENR tank and black mock neck? I know it SEEMS obvious but….I’m getting that cardigan and wish to know for sure.

    Thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cela….the emb. tunic is in a new georgette fabric and it’s not see through at all. It is 100% poly, but has a lovely hand……The blacks should work fine.

      1. Sandy

Do you know if some sizes didn’t come in at all? I’ve been on waitlist for these for some time and they never shipped? Have vests but no pants now. Thanks.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sandy, I did not hear that there was a problem or anything was short shipped. I will let you know next week as I am at QVC this Monday for the Morning show and PM Style.

          1. Sandy

Thank you Louis. I’m so unhappy that I didn’t receive these pants and just can’t get over that I had them on early waitlist long before they came in.

  15. Susan

I was disappointed to note the length of the denim dress. Do you have plans to bring longer length dresses for taller QVC customers in the near future?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Susan…..there are no plans to bring in another denim dress. It is very difficult to do one length for everyone, so we must go with the average height, which I know doesn’t satisfy every one. The petites will still have to shorten, and the talls are always unhappy unless they don’t mind showing their knees…..tanned legs helps. If I make a dress like this too long it starts to look very frumpy. I’m sorry it won’t work for you. One suggestion is to cut it to tunic length and wear it with Capri leggings. It would be very cute and you would have something no one else has!

  16. Fashion1

I just received my order of 3 of the WK Short Sleeve Cardigan A253409. I got in Latte, White and Chili Pepper. I LOVE these cardigans!!!! In the past, all other brands I’ve purchased in short sleeve sweaters have had a very “dowdy” fit to them. Yours are lean and sophisticated, yet do not cling to any lumps and bumps. And the colors . . . fabulous!!

Only one request. Next time these are ordered, can we please have in black and navy? I NEED one in every basic color!!!!! Thank you!!!!!

    Cyndi

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

It really is all in the fit of the sleeve. The body can even be boxy, which these are not, but if the sleeve is to big and loose it looks dowdy. That kind of big sleeve, is very popular today at the designer level for updated camp type shirts, but you really have to b 18 for them still not to look old.

      1. Fashion1

Louis, you hit the nail on the head. It has always been the big, baggy sleeves that I’ve hated. Your sleeves are sleek & slim and just the right length. Plus you just can’t beat WK for a fabulous feel and drape.

We are so lucky to have you designing our WONDERFUL clothes for us!!!!

        Cyndi

  17. Kathy

The denim dress is up to order.

  18. Sherry

Morning Louis, what can we expect for the appearances on Monday, please.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The embroidered tunic will be on the morning show. I am in the second hour. PM Style will have the Open Front cardigan [kimono] and some sneak peeks.

      1. Sherry

Thanks, happy to hear you are in the second hour…won’t have to get up so early…LOL.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Of course I’m not showing everything one after the other. They have three things one after the other and then it skips a few and the the last two closer to the end, and one of those is the emb tunic.

          1. Sherry

Oh goodie…we get to see 5 items in the morning…the Embroidered Tunic is the only new item???

  19. Seka

The Denim Dress, Jeans and Vest are all posted on the Q!

    1. Nancy

Thanks for the “heads up” Seka. I got the indigo dress and am so glad I checked here because they are not listed yet as “new arrivals” while the longer palm necklace was! Go figure!

    2. Kate

Brokens sizes in white and dark wash jeans already. Either not all inventory is in, or these babies are selling like hotcakes!

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kate…..all inventory is in…..I guess they are selling like “hot cakes”….yum…I haven’t had hot cakes in years! Every time we are in a restaurant, and I say I think I’ll order some delicious hot cakes…..Jac gives me a look that freezes me in my tracts!….no hot cakes for me…..If her mother was still with us….she would say, “oh, let him eat them!”.

        1. Kate

They’re my kind of crack, too.

        2. Sherry

Oh my…a person has to have pancakes every once in a while…just have to have some protein with them and take it easy on the butter and syrup. NO bacon…darn it!

  20. Parisa

Ladies for those that missed out on some colors, I have 3 new (still with tags) mock necks in peacock, aubergine, & olive & 2 new (still with tags) crew necks in olive & spruce. I also have a tan crew neck without a tag. All size large. I have lost some weight & don’t want these beautiful sweaters to sit in my closet & hoping to help someone out.

You can contact me by looking at my email under my profile on the qvc forum if you are interested!

  21. TexasBarb

    Dear Louis,
The long palm frond necklace is now posted and I bought my share of both necklaces and earrings. I had to get two of each long necklace after you showed two necklaces together.

What can we look forward to next in the way of jewelry?

Thanks for these beautiful palm frond pieces.

    VERY SUSPICIOUS LINK ABOVE

    Post doesn’t even make sense.

    Louis,

Will there be anything else in a jacket, topper or cardigan coming in the new Wisteria color, other than the traditonal cardigan and scoop neck short sleeve WK? Thanks!

    Cathy in PA

    1. Anonymous

Sorry; I have NO IDEA why I suddenly became “Anonymous” ??? Good thing I signed my question post above …
      Thanks again, Cathy in PA

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

No….that’s it for Wisteria, other than the wisteria and turquoise stripe sweater

      1. Cathy in PA

        Hi Louis,

Thanks for the answer. I just love the color, and thought about beginning to collect this color … do you think there will be more to coordinate with this shade going forward? Thanks again!

Cathy in PA (Hoping not to be “Anonymous” this time)

P.S. I am quite delighted with all my new Linen Blend pieces, and the Floral Scroll pieces … each color is unique and lovely 🙂

  24. Jennifer

    Hello Louis,
Can the Chili Pepper Kimono cardigan be worn with the Chili Pepper Python Print dress from last year?
    Thanks,
    Jennifer

  25. Carol

Can you give us another pictogram of the new wave of wk colors/styles? That was soooo helpful in planning my purchases.
    Thanks.

  26. Goldie76

    Dear Louis,

Do you know when the Palm Frond collection will be available? I have such a yearning for them.

    Thank you.

    1. Goldie76

I just saw your projected time for the Palm Frond collection. I’m waiting with great anticipation. PLEASE HAVE MANY OF THESE PIECES BECAUSE YOU WILL BREAK A LOT OF HEARTS IF YOU DO NOT.

      1. nikki

the earrings and short neckalace are available to order right now on qvc

        1. Goldie76

Thank you so much, nikki. The necklace was more expensive than I anticipated, and so I will not be buying the long version as I had planned.

You know, I marked on my calendar “4/15” for the possible introduction of the pieces, but that was tax day, and my oh my… Leave it at that.

I am looking forward to these exquisite pieces.

          1. Goldie76

I bought the short necklace and earrings (chose clip version). Such beautiful, once-in-a-lifetime sort of pieces.

    2. Kathy

They are on to order right now.
      Kathy/Wis

      1. Kate

It took me all of :30 seconds to get that gold one in my cart and seal the deal. A true collector’s piece.

  27. Carol in FL

    Hi Louis,

The v-neck whisper knit tank is now available in dark tan. Will there be any other whisper knits with sleeves coming in this color? Thank you!

    Carol

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes….the classic cardigan and either the V-neck or scoop neck with S/S…..can’t remember which.

  28. Pamela

    Hi Louis:

Have added A214117 in Smoke to my closed of fun. Will this Smoke hue work with the wide waist ponte skirt (A231138) in the ‘new’ gray?

    TIA

    1. Pamela

      Darn typos! that’s closet of fun. . . . .! ! !

  29. Alisa

Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it was
super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what
I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.

I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything.
Do you have any helpful hints for rookie blog writers?
    I’d certainly appreciate it.

  30. BCM

    Hi Louis,

Do you think the sea foam fleck tank can be worn with a soft blush pink cardigan I recently purchased? I would wear them both with your new ivory crepe pants. Thank you for your expertise.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear BCM…….I really can’t say yes or no since I really don’t know what the blush color is. If it is a clean pure color….probably not…..if it’s an antique color with gray in it….maybe yes, but I can’t give you an real answer. It’s like being in the dark and trying to answer whether two colors work. I certainly don’t want to mislead you.

  31. Pat

    Louis,

I am traveling today and so happy I brought your ponte pull on pants…I just tried to buy more and as usual they are sold out. Will you have any more ponte pull on pants this spring or summer or any type of linea pull on pants, capri, crop?….

    Thank you

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Pat…..For Spring/summer I will have the Cotton/knit /Span Capri legging in June as well as the pebble crepe crop pull-on pant….in June…..For Fall/Winter I will be bringing back the pull-on ponte pant in the same colors as before pluss some new fabrics scattered through the season.I think I will have some nice options for you…..but word of warning ….my pants do sell quickly, especially the knit pants.

  32. CC

    A233856
Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Printed Cardigan

Will this sweater in the new black go with geranium pink or butter whisper knits? Is the inside ribbon along the placate black? Btw, I have this in the coral color from last year. Have received numerous compliments. And, interestingly men seem to be fond of it.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear CC….the black floral cardigan works beautifully with the geranium pink WK [that’s the way I will show it], as well as the butter yellow WK coming. It also looks great with many other colors such as the twig rayon jersey tank and the twig linen pant….plus the gray boho that’s coming………It doesn’t surprise me that you received compliments from men wearing the floral cardigan. Men like to see women in feminine clothing. None the less, men don’t offer compliments often so you must have looked wonderful!

  33. Sherry

Evening Louis, did the Fluted and Smooth bead necklace(single strand, J284036) get reordered? It’s the one that came in Root beer that sold out so quickly. It was one of those items that the Q backordered on me…so I am hoping for a reorder.

      1. Sherry

        Fingers crossed!!!

  34. Bizfrog

    Louis:

How do you think the sea foam fleck tank will look with the sea green faux silk pants (A251591)?

    Lynn

  35. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Hi Louis! Happy Monday! In your comments about the silver grey version of the flecked tank you mention the following: “The CLEAR 72 inch glass beads, J284043, which are at the moment sold out…” Is it too much to hope that the 72 inch clear glass beads MIGHT be being considered for a reorder?

Seafoam tank and new black cardigan just purchased. Those are my kind of colors! Silver Grey tank also 😉 Loved what you had to say about the COOL greys and the combo with white is a no brainer – now that you have brilliantly pointed it out that is 🙂 – as is the combo with the smoke feather jersey. Also my kind of colors!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy….we will have to wait and see about returns. If they are under a certain %, then yes they will be considered for reordering.

  36. Pamela

Louis – Appears your blog has fallen victim to comment spam! Perhaps your IT guy can blacklist the prankster?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

What is comment spam? I trash whoever I don’t recognize or something that doesn’t look on the up and up

        1. Pamela

Louis – I finally got so curious that I right clicked the Testosterone Supplements (header below) to reveal that this post is somehow associated with Dr. Oz?

  37. Anonymous

    Dear Louis

I am watching all of last year’s videos on Q to learn more about the feather jersey. Is this fabric sort of like the “slinky” fabric I have seen in other formulations (jones ny ) and other travel friendly knits? If it does not cling or wrinkle and can be washed in cold water, I will probably have to new work uniform along with all of my WK knits with their matching tanks. I have put a ton on order and hope the fit my plus size shape. Jac and Kate make everything look amazing!

Do you have a date for the May show by any chance?
    Many thanks,

    Debra

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Debra….it does not cling…..Jac wore all of the pieces on vacation last summer and was very happy wearing them. Many plus women love the feather jersey because it is so light. Both the short and maxi skirts are lined. I am not familiar with the slink fabrics from other lines so I can’t comment on the question. The Feather Jersey is great for travel….they take no room in the luggage………My May show is on the 16th at 4pm.

  38. gk27

Good morning Louis. I have a fashion etiquette question for you. Today in Indiana we are at about 60 degrees but by nightfall, we are expected snow and 30 degrees. I had planned on wearing the fuchsia wk pencil skirt A237412 with the black scoop neck A230883 elbow sleeve wk top because it is 2 days before the tax deadline and my husband and I own and run a CPA firm and your whisper knits are chic AND comfortable. I thought about maybe wearing your wonderful leather jacket A238539 and possibly suede boots and black hosiery. Is that appropriate for Spring?

    Thank you!
    Gayle

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I think it’s more about what is appropriate for the weather than the season. I think your outfit sounds perfect for 30 degree weather and snow. You would look silly in a spring outfit and Easter egg colors if you know what I mean. When the weather is IN the 60’s and stays in the 60s then break out the spring clothes.

      1. gk

        Thank you!

  39. Jane

Louis, when will your sleeveless cotton blouse be available and do you have an item number yet ?
LOVE your clothing & jewelry !!!!!
    Thanks,
    Jane

  40. Anonymous

Louis, do you think there is a chance of a reorder of the maxi-pull-on skirt – 34 inch length – that you brought in this spring which looks to be largely sold out in many sizes? A221808 That one flew out the door and passed me by. 🙂

    1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Gee, didn’t mean to show up anonymously. I’m the one who wants to know this information 🙂

  41. Wendy

First, thank you for your great communication efforts with customers. I own many, many of your pieces. I have a question/request about your wonderful shirt A214116 (your shirts are the absolute best and, for me, making other brands seem poorly made with inferior fabric). The QVC site shows this shirt is available on waitlist in clay and stone — when you can, could we have a photo of something in these colors? If not possible, I already own the grey and sea green so I’ll just order them knowing I can’t go wrong. Thanks much.

    1. Karen in WA

Or a description, I think of clay as the color of stone, but you have stone. Is clay terracotta? I love that shirt too.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sort of but a little deeper…..for me stone is like a pebble more of a gray beige…..in the taupe family

  42. Jeanie

Hi Louis! I apologize if this has already been asked and answered but is there an ETA on the embroidered tunics? Thank you!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I will be showing them on PM Style on the Monday after Easter Sunday, April 20th.

      1. Jeanie

Oh great! So will they not available ’till then (as far as you know)?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

As far as I know….when an item is on PM Style, which is a prime time hour with a lot of viewers….they want to make sure there is enough inventory for it to be on a Prime time hour. It would make no sense to put a low inventory item on any prime time our especially PM Style….so I doubt that it will be released any earilier than that day……but who knows for sure.

  43. LauraL

    Hi Louis,

A224278 is now available on QVC in the two new colors: Seafoam and Silver Grey but there are no color swatches. Would it be possible for you to do a sneak peak so we can see the colors and/or were there item(s) in the previous show where you sneak peaked the colors that I can watch the video? What upcoming or previous items will the Seafoam go with?

I have just come back from Germany (I have been gone 12 or the last 14 weeks – way too much travel) so I missed the shows but ordered some great items due to your sneak peaks. I ordered the petite linen pants in the twig and black, two of the striped short sleve sweaters (blk/wht, latte/coffee), the twig paisley print top, the ENR tanks (white, chili pepper, coffee bean), and the white short sleeve cardigan. I am very happy with all of the items. Unfortuneately I couldn’t do the long woven pants as I need petite not only for the length but really for the rise (willing to hem but changing the rise is too costly).

Thanks for all of your help and beautiful clothes.

    Laura

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Laura….if you watch the video of the A221808 crepe blazer….Jac is wearing the silver gray flecked tank under the pewter suit. They do give you a pretty good shot of it when I am talking about it and the necklace. The seafoam is a beautiful pale aqua green and I use it as an accent color. It looks beautiful with the new twig pant and worn under the Latte short sleeve WK cardigan. It’s a beautiful color to wear with all neutrals and looks very nice with my AQUA MIST pearls.

      1. Pecan Cookie

Thanks for digging that info out on the silver and posting it, Louis. Looking forward to both colors.

      2. Diamondscribe

Louis, is there any chance of getting another option to the A224278 tank in the same delicious color? This tank is way too short for your tall, low-waisted Linea ladies, but, oh, the colors are wonderful! Maybe the scoop-neck short sleeve WK top could come in another style with these heathered neutrals, silver and pale aqua colors?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Diamondscribe…..In June there will be a short sleeve, V-neck top, longer than the tank…..in silver, pewter, sea foam and cinnamon

  44. Dariann

    Dear Louis,

Happy news! I think that J28799, your beautiful goldtone necklace with the pink faceted stations and pearls might be getting reordered. I have been on waitlist for them and today I received an email from QVC stating that my order might be fulfilled in June. Yea!

I also want you to know that I was one of the lucky ones that ordered and received your slim ankle jeans before they vanished from the QVC website. I couldn’t be more pleased with these jeans and they look great with your denim jacket. I ordered the white and will be wearing them all spring and summer.

Don’t forget to let your Linea Ladies know about your palm frond jewelry if you get any additional information about availability.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Dariann….you are correct…I just heard myself that a reorder was placed for the pink version. I don’t like to say anything unless I’m sure they are coming, but if QVC notified you then they will be here in June!So glad you like the jean pant….It’s so hard with pants unless they are knit to fit the majority of people. I’m sure they won’t work for everyone, but I hope the returns are few so we can bring them back.

    Dear Louis,
I would like to tell you that your Whisper Knits give warm hugs.
Last August, my 24 year old son was a backseat passenger in a car involved in an accident. The car went off the road and hit a tree right where he was sitting. As a result, he suffered severe facial trauma & spent weeks in the trauma ICU. Not a bone in his face was spared. Some were broken, some were crushed. He was unable to speak due to the trach., & his jaw being wired. He was on a feeding tube & his eyes were swollen shut. He was a mess & so was I. Even though it was late August in NY, the hospital was freezing. Every day, all day I was there. Inside it felt like 30 degrees but outside it was in the 80′s. Honestly, the only thought I gave towards dressing each day was for warmth while inside without feeling like a furnace when stepping outside for some fresh air. Between the cardigans and tanks & the long sleeve v necks, your whisper knits saved me. I wore one every day for weeks on end. Not only did they ward off the cold air conditioning, they somehow felt like a warm comforting hug & I think they were the only thing that helped me look somewhat pulled together.
My prayers were answered. My son is walking, talking & here to tell his tale. He is looking mostly like himself again & will make a full recovery. We have had to return to the hospital a few times for minor surgeries & each time, I wear a whisper knit. They help to make the wait while he’s in surgery, a little more bearable.
You have probably heard many whisper knit stories so I thought I would share this one with you. You & your whisper knits helped to get me through this more than you can know. Who would have thought, whisper knits give hugs & gave them to me when I needed them most.
May God bless both you & Jac.

How frightening for you Virginia. It’s wonderful news though that your son has recovered so well. He is probably fortunate to be alive. Enjoy every day with him.

    2. Mary

      Dear Virginia,

I’m in tears reading this. God bless you and your son. I wish him a happy, healthy future, and a quick recovery.

      Mary

      1. Sherry

Same here, a tear jerking story, you know an Angel was with him that he survived this ordeal…many prayers as he continues down his recovery road.

    3. Yvette

Wonderful story! Two weeks ago we had a 5:45am call that my 93 yr. old father-in-law had fallen. 911 had been called, and we were to meet them at the hospital. I grabbed jeans and your whisper knit v-neck tank and matching cardigan. As Virginia said, they were warm and comfortable through the many trying hours of that day. I suspect that I looked pretty well put together, too. FIL is back home, now taking a med for vertigo, and I have another excuse to keep adding to my whisperknit collection. Thank you for this wonderful fabric and great styles!

    Louis

On the reorder of the lace jacket, when will it be in and in what colors. Thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Joan…it is scheduled, so far, to be on my May show. The colors are black [returning], ivory an sea foam.

  47. Debra

    Hi Louis,
I am looking at your current pieces as I am not sure when the next batch of items are coming.

I have the turquoise open cardigan 3/4 sleeve from last year. I am looking at the aqua lace shell. Would that match the turqouise from 2013 or the Aqua V neck WK cardigan w/buttons from this year?

Or there more drape WK cardigans coming this season or only several months from now? Also, will there be more maxi skirts?

I look forward to your reply so I can rationalize shopping today!

Truly ~ thank you for your clothes that fit a 1X at 5’6″ and make me feel comfortable and well put together.

The Aqua tank is sold out in 2X so I hope that the 1X won’t be too skin tight. Some of the reviews said to size up based on a certain build…

I look forward to your reply so I can make the purchase. Thank you for answering my questions.

    Best,
    Debra

    1. designista

Just a heads up because there is limited inventory; the Aqua WK from last year is what matches the Aqua lace. You can hit the “older” button to get to page 7 where Louis shows A233952 in Aqua. I’ll leave the expert to answer your questions. I didn’t want to interfere, but don’t want you to miss out either.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Debra….the aqua lave top matches the Aqua WK from last summers Fiesta group…..The WK draped cardi is coming for fall in Lapis blue and the new black……There are no more maxi skirts coming this spring or summer. You should see if any of the Feather Jersey maxi skirts are avail in your size.

      1. Debra

        Hi Louis,

Well, I am awaiting the feather jersey skirt in gray/smoke and navy. There is also the feather jersey open cardigan in navy available which should be the same dye lot? I hope, please let me know if it is not.

I adore your black and navy rayon/span skirt maxi that is all sold out and the 1x fits like a dream. The new lapis blue rayon/span skirt with georgette is cut fuller and although I adore the color, the skirt in 1x just looks to “shleppy” (if you are a NY in the garment industry you know what I mean). Is there a size in the lapis blue that would fit more like the black and navy? or is it cut too differently to choose a different size, ie. XL or even L ?

thanks!!! Already have the gray flecked tank and seafoam tank on check order. I figure that they will look great with the pewter draped cardi and the gray will look great with red and black.

I appreciate your answering all the questions and many variants.

        Best,
        Debra

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Debra…..all of the Feather Jersey fabrics were dyed at the same time so all should match. If the waist on the Lapis skirt was big then you could go down a size. I have another skirt coming in May…..not like either one of the ones you know. It is a pull-on with a flat top, but he bottom has a lot of sweep…….it is in a very light weight rayon/span closer to the weight of the Feather Jersey.

          1. Debra

            Ahhhhhhhhh Louis

I am an Aries so ready to charge! ha!

would you please be so kind to tell me what colors?????
            thanks!

            Debra

            1. Debra

by the way, when you say “flat top” do you mean the elastic waistband? or the drop down waist to the top of the hipbone, like the Boho tiered skirts?

I loved being able to look at the photo archive from last years’ designs and your trip to the Caribbean. Cannot wait to see more sneak peeks.

              thanks again,
              Debra

            2. Louis Dell'Olio

I should have said smooth….no shirring or pleats it’s a smooth elastic band…..flat.

            3. Louis Dell'Olio

Be good…..I’m not spilling the beans so early!

  48. farmerwife

Louis, I haven’t received any of my things from the last show, but they are on their way along with the yellow and aqua denim pants and vests. I, like others, are wanting to order the denim in white and probably indigo as well, also want to order the dress in various colors. Just wondering if there is any news on just what happend that they are not yet into the system for order. This is the strangest thing. I find mysef plugging those 3 memorized numbers into the system at least 5 times a day.

    1. Jeanie

Me too! And the embroidered tunics! I just know they’ll be posted and I’ll miss out on them!

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear farmerwife….I will try to get a due date from my buyer tomorrow.

  49. Joan

Louis Did you say that you will have a new lace jacket? If so, when and what colors. Thanks.

  50. DeLois

Received my first denim vest today and OMG I LOVE it…… fits perfectly and will be great with so many things….. the jeans and the dress if I get it…….

  51. Nancy

Hi Louis, “Red” me here. I just received my white jeans (Item #A252357) along with the vest (Item #A252356). I’m enclosing the items numbers as you requested and am writing to tell you how much I love the fit and fabric. I now wish I had ordered them in blue as well. I have plenty of blue jeans; however, this fabric is unlike any of them. It’s lighter weight, yet works like a heavier weight. I think they’ll be wonderful in warmer weather yet still provide all the comforts of jeans. Now I have the pants on with the new black and white hibiscus print shirt which is also the perfect weight for warm weather. I’ll be wearing them immediately here in southern california. I also ordered several other of your new pieces: the lapis blue skirt and shirt with the sheer panel and sleeves, as well as the shirt in white. I was pleasantly surprised to see the length of the new blue and aqua striped shirt. Love the longer shirt. I also bought the blue linen jacket which I might just slip over the white jeans and vest for arm coverage! Hopefully the jeans will become available soon and I’ll be able to order the blue ones as well. I’m 5’5″ and wear a size 10 which hits me right at my ankles. Perfect length for my lifestyle. Thank you Louis. I love it all.

  52. Eileen

Hi, Louis, Here is my opinion on the whisper knits for next spring. I really love the drape front cardigan, and I bought it in ruby with the matching shell. If you are thinking spring, what about that sweater and the shell in the beautiful color iris that you did last year. I have the elbow length sweater and the peplum jacket. It is such a flattering color.

    1. Debra

Eileen, the Iris would be gorgeous! Sign me up.

I purchased the drape open cardigan and matching shell in Ruby, Lapis and Pewter and wear them so often.

  53. Writer with Flair (Patti)

    Dear Louis,

Thank you for asking for our input for next spring’s Whisper Knits. I will always love the basics (navy, white, ivory/cream,) but I also would appreciate the following other colors: pale shades of aqua, peach, grey, yellow, pink, taupe, and camel.

If it is possible, a two-toned spectator Chanel-look button-up Whisper Knit cardigan sweater or jacket would be great. Any two combinations of cream, white, taupe, camel, ivory, navy, black, bright green, and red in the sweater or jacket would be a dream come true. It also would be wonderful to see the sweater/jacket coupled with a coordinating faux silk crepe de chine polka dot blouse and skirt (and/or pants). Having this combination in my wardrobe would probably cause me to do a little dance!

My favorite spectator combinations would be navy and ivory, black and white, red and white, and camel and ivory. I think the spectator style is such a clean and crisp look. It always makes me feel that winter is finally over and that spring (and summer) are on their way.

I also love the “twinset” concept. The long sleeves and a traditional button-up sweater in a little longer length than the traditional button-up cardigan would be much appreciated.

Please do keep the mock neck shell style in the WK. It helps me beautifully deal with “neck issues.”

I also would like to lobby for anything made from something similar to that wonderful fabric you used in the stone herringbone jacket. I missed out on the slacks that coordinated with the jacket.

Thanks for listening and I know that whatever you decide to do will be wonderful.

    All the best,
    Patti

    1. Karen in WA

Yes, exactly, ditto, I second that, amen, for sure, well said, I’m there!

      1. Writer with Flair (Patti)

        Dear Karen,

I guess great minds think alike! My definition of someone with good taste is a person who has the same taste that I do. You obviously qualify. (I bet you like cap toe flats, too.) Let’s hear it for Women with Impeccable Taste!

        1. Karen in WA

          Hear Hear ! 🙂

  54. Yoko

Mr Dellolio thank you for beautiful clothes. I am small only little more than 5 feet. I like long tops even though I am short. I would like whisper knit tank tops longer. I have boyfriend sweater in navy Xsmall, it is a favorite It would be very nice to have vest same length as BFjacket. Colors any shade of purple or plum.

  55. Beryl

    Dear Louis,
I see on your blog you asked for suggestions for WK spring 2015 collection. I own tons of the WK’s and would love any colors you’d choose. However, I want to vote for the return of the feather jersey. I adore it. It is so comfortable in the hot and muggy coastal NC climate. I know there are others out in Linea Land who feel the same way.
    Beryl

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Beryl….I will suggest it but there was so much bad press and high returns that I doubt it will be considered again. I will just have to look for a replacement.

      1. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

That is really a shame. I treasure my feather knits – live in them when it’s hot and muggy. I was really hoping for black to complement all the pastels from last year. I bet black would sell out – maybe name it something different? How about a 3 piece wardrobe (pant, tank and cardi) in figure masking colors (Black, Coffee Bean, Deep Charcoal Grey)?

      2. Carol

Bad press! Still rankles that most of that came from people who never laid a hand on the actual fabric. I love my Feathery Jersey, especially in the maxi dress/maxi skirts. The are like wearing a cloud.

        crdlb

        1. Me too, Carol. Also rankles me that negative reviews were left by people who hadn’t even bought the FJ. Kept a lot of women from even trying it and set up negative expectations. Don’t understand why anyone would want to ruin something for the rest of us. I love my “Russian print” dress and the dark red (Beet?) pieces.

      3. Sherry

I too, treasure my Feather jersey pieces…was not able to get all the pieces to co-ordinate the way I would like…none the less, I love the pieces I was able to purchase.

      4. Judy

Louis, I have posted also about more Feather Jersey. Even though I loved the colors you used, we need black, navy, walnut, or any darker colors. Black pants would be to die for. I for one would buy in multiples.

        1. Judi

          Louis-
I’ll reiterate what I said on another page….we NEED feather jersey back!

I remember your excitement when you told us about the fabric you found and the carte blanche you were given to develop the line. The “bad press” must have hurt you. The opinions were made out of ignorance and the returns could only have been from the effect of people being influenced by the negative comments and also customers being unfamiliar with anything languid.

Once again, you were ahead of your time with FJ. Now, soft, flowing fabrics are shown everywhere. None can hold a candle to your fabrication, however.

I would love to see black, other summer darks as espresso, beet red, spruce green, more navy.

Is there anything we can do to help bring this back? A petition? Phone calls? Snail mail letters?

  56. DeLois

Louis I received the denim jeans in navy, perfect and hope I can get the white, the linen pants are wonderful in Twig and I love the black knit tank dress with a cover up. I tried the black safari shirt tied at the waist…… and the shrug……. I am waiting for my two vests in denim, and I recently ordered the chili pepper linen jacket and pants. The black knit blazer is a great fit. I am broke but I have one question……. will you be having any more ivory pants coming besides the ones that are lined????????

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear DeLois………..no more ivory….white cotton sateen in May.

      1. Carol

The sateen jacket—does it have your signature button. I’d love it with the gold or silver buttons.
I know it’s been requested before, but I would scoop up several sets of your signature buttons if they were to be offered for sale. I would add them to some of my blazers that have dyed to match buttons.

          1. Luisa

            What’s DTM?

            1. Diane

              DTM = Dyed to match.

  57. Julia

Maybe I missed this, but will there be a reorder of the WK in the fiesta colors? I missed out on the lime green kimono cardigan and am hoping to have another opportunity next year. I’m kicking myself for not getting it. I got the tank and short-sleeve top. Last year I wore them with navy and white. This year, I’m craving a matching sweater set look. Dare I hope?

    Julia

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Julia…..the Fiesta colors are finished and are not being reordered. Every season for the OLO WK group we are introducing new colors so basically all of the colors [except the basics] will be a one time only availability.

      1. Julia

I was afraid of that, but I know I’ll be just as enthralled with what’s coming. I’ll continue to treasure the fiesta WK that I have and hop on the new colors when they arrive.

        All the best,

        Julia

  58. Judy

A228341 the jewel neck tunic has always been and still is my all time favorite whisper knit sweater. I love everything about this perfect style, the perfectly designed slim body and the flattering neckline (a beautiful show case for necklaces). For the new 2005 collection I would love to see this sweater with 3/4 or elbow sleeves in black, white, red, emerald green, and royal blue.

I can see this worn year round with jeans, slacks, skirts and crops. Thank you for wanting to please all of us. Much love to you and Jac.

  59. Margo Ducane-windsor

    Hi,

I just recieved the Denim Jeans A252357 in White, Aqua and Navy, Perfect.

  60. Bobbie

Hi, Louis. Thank you for the opportunity for input into next spring’s colors for WK pieces. I would really like variations of reds, pinks, blues and purples, for example, shades of raspberry, dusty rose, periwinkle, etc. I would also like to request a consideration for some light weight jackets with mandarin colors. I guess I am hungry for some Asian-inspired tops with the traditional silhouette. Since silk is not affordable anymore, finding a suitable fabric might be a challenge, but I’m sure you have several ideas that would be beautiful and feminine.

I love the floral prints from the last show. I just received mine today and would like to thank you for the light weight fabric. I wore the Phoenix print pieces from last year constantly, as I live in Texas, and the summers are swelteringt here. I also wore both faux linen sutis often, so I am anxious to wear my new linen suits from the last show. They just say, “summer.” I can’t wait to order the new embroidered tunics when they become available. They look divine!

  61. Virginia

    Whisper knits for next spring?
Button down cardigan, v neck tank & 3/4 sleeve v neck. All in perfectly pink would be fantastic!

  62. new york karan

Which Whisper Knits for next spring?
The Mock Neck Rib Trim Tank is one of a kind, and I would like to see it in more neutral colors: twig, latte, coffee, gray, etc

    1. maggie

I agree, neutrals would be great!

  63. Anonymous

    Robins egg blue, please.

    1. Debra

I would love to see black mixed with some pastels, but stronger color, not watery. Black with Baby Blue and Orchid or Tulip Pink would be great for those of us who need some more color (and obviously, more edge as well as Black, as if there is ever enough of that.

A black asymetrical skirt or tank with peeks of medium-depth or deeper pastels would have a longer shelf life I think for more seasons. I LOVE the long maxi skirts and hope that there are more. Or rich pops of these colors ie. chili pepper, lapis blue, purple haze… A combination of the fabulous crepe with trims in rayon/span would hold up and look good on a plus size body.

I read Jac is an XS. She is fabulous but I probably have shoes that weigh more than she does!! She is an amazing model, so chic.

Twig and Terracotta are not good color choices for me. I need slices and pops of color!

looking forward to your next batch of sneak peeks,
      thanks,

      Debra

      1. Debra

        I ADORE your Rayon/Span

A maxi skirt, long 3/4 sleeve rayon span open cardigan, asymetric hem on the cardigan, oh yes! great suggestions out there!

    2. Debra

The open cardigans are so flattering and I like the 3/4 sleeve for 4 season wear. A deep lavender as well as a deep robin’s egg blue would be so pretty with the pewter pieces you have created.

  64. CC

Sorry for the double post–guess I just really desire those WK items and colors. Must have hit enter two times in my excitement.

  65. Kathy

    Hello Louis
