O/T: Thanks LDO for the movie rec! Great cast in “The Judge”. Long time fans of Duvall too. After witnessing his on-screen chemistry with Tommy Lee Jones in Lonesome Dove, we rented “The Betsy” (late 70’s flick) that they also star’d together. Movies really are a ‘time capsule’.

Have ya seen “Kill the Messenger” yet?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      No….it’s on the list

  3. Tylerpoo

Louis, does the olive green A-line skirt match the olive swing tunic or is the color tonal. Is the skirt ENR?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes the colors match, and yes….ALL skirts are ENR.

  4. Happy Lady

HI Louis, Have J288005 Bold Hoop Earrings been reordered? I missed out on the silver and my gunmetal pair “disappeared” from my carry on luggage. Really love the size, three colors offered and clip on for a change. Would also love chocolate or a bronze tone. Hope they are coming back!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

They are coming back in the three colors, but this particular factory can’t do the chocolate plating so they will not be in chocolate.

  5. Dariann

    Dear Louis,
Do you know when your new double-sided black cross is going to be available? I need it to wear with your beautiful new black turtleneck.
    Thanks,
    Dariann

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I don’t but I’ll ask when it’s due. All I know it was for Holiday selling which could be Nov. or Dec.???

      1. Debbie M.

How about the demi hoops in the chocolate?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

They are coming too…I don’t know when, but I know they are coming…I have my samples so they have to be in the pipe line.

  6. Ellen

Hi Louis..by chance, do you know the size of the buttons on the new cardigan. I would like to change the gold buttons on the navy cardigan. In the past, you had recommended M & J Trimming, and I did purchase buttons from them. Of course, I discarded (recently) their size chart. Just thought you might know.

Thanks, again and again, for all of your beautiful creations. By the way…there is NOTHING like those ottoman jackets. I live in the black and gray. And, while I am bragging on you..those super ponte knit leggings are outrageous..I bought a black pair in the petite and another in the regular length and wore them with the black ottoman jacket and a gray whisper knit tank with some shooties. A great look. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  7. Grace

    Dear Louis,
Do you think this tank A224278 in natural will be a match as an underlayer for the stone Kate shirt? I know you said we’ll be seeing a stone WK in Jan., but I’m looking for other options in the meantime. Also wondering if a stone WK t-neck is in the works? Thanks in advance.

  8. Chris S.

    Hello,
Will you please describe the stone color in the shetland cardigan and your other items? Is it more in the gray family or more in the tan/brown family? I wear grays rather than anything in the tan/brown family. Gray seems to work better with my coloring (white hair and fair skin). I am definitely a winter. I already have the shetland v-neck pullover in the gray which I love and don’t want to order the cardigan in the same color. If I had known the cardigan was coming in the gray, I would have ordered the v-neck in a different color. I never considered anything in the stone color until I saw the pictures of the Kate shirt in stone.
    Thank you!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Chris…..it’s more of a taupe, not a tan…I think it should work for you. If you’re not sure the other colors should all be fine.

  9. Sue

Louis – I recently purchased your Animal Jacquard Zip Front Jacket in olive and wondering if there are any olive tops you might recommend to go with it? I live in CA so something not too heavy would be ideal. Also, would LOVE to see the Pull-on Ponte Knit Pant in olive to go with it (and thank you for making that pant in petite)!!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sue….there is a rayon jersey top that has been reordered in Olive which would be perfect for you, but it won’t be avail until Jan. In the meantime black will have to do.

      1. Sue

Thank you. I will be on the lookout for that top in January!

      2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sue, I’m back because I forgot about the V-neck textured Cheetah solid jacquard knit top. It is super light wait and was reordered and olive is the new color….it has just arrived on the Linea site. This would be a perfect weight for you

        1. Teri

The short sleeve cotton tunic in olive is really cute with the zip jacket. Longer, but it works for me and is not hot. I also have the olive v neck cheetah, very good.

  10. Judy

Hi Louis, I and a few of the other ladies have asked several times about you offering us an oversized, shirttail hem, boyfriend shirt. I think it would be just perfect with the new body leggings and jeans. To my knowledge you have never given an answer. Is this something we can look forward to?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Judy….I thought I did answer someone….maybe not. I do have sketches of boyfriend shirts a la the Robyn shirt, but I can’t say if they will be chosen.

      1. Judy

Wonderful! I will keep my fingers crossed! I do hope it has a shirt tail hem!

  11. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)H

Hi – I’m doing some early holiday shopping and need your opinion. I am planning to get my new daughter-in-law the taupe/black animal print skirt, black tights, & a black wk tank/cardi/scarf. I was searching for a necklace to go with it and was thinking a strand of your pearls would be really pretty. Which color would be best for this outfit? Mocha Mist, Driftwood, or Bronze? Or would you recommend a different necklace?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

If you are getting her the new WK ENR cardigan ….it has gunmetal buttons so I would recommend the two strand Gunmetal necklace….and may I say that’s some fabulous outfit you have chosen for her!

  12. Diane

When can we expect the navy quilted jacket?

    Thanks, Diane

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Jan 30th is the date of the show, but they are releasing things early these days,

  13. Barbara C

    Hello Louis,

Trying to decide between a 4 and a 6 in the new olive slim leg pant. Is there much stretch in the fabric? I’m usually an XS in your ponte knit pants and a 4 in your woven pants. Thank you.

    Barbara C

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

If you are a 4 in woven….these are woven so I would think you should stick with the 4. Are you slight with slender legs?

      1. Barbara C

I’m thinking of the shorts I purchased–a pair of solid black and a pair of solid blue with matching blouses–earlier this year. The size 4 is a perfect fit, but I don’t think my legs are real slender :); maybe I should get the 6. I’ll check the measurements. I was wondering if this gabardine fabric (I think that’s what you said) has some stretch. Thanks so much.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Barbara….the fabric does have stretch/….if the shorts were a perfect fit then go with the same size.

  14. Jeanie

Hi Louis! Does the stone poncho match the stone WK skirt?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jeanie….the poncho is heather and the WK skirt is solid…so I can’t say they “match”. What I can say is they are tonal and work well together. So you could wear the skirt with my new Stone tunic sweater and the poncho over it. Of course I think the ANIMAL INSTINCTS tights in stone pulls it all together.

  15. NJ Lady

A question about the new Poncho.
I know it has sleeves. Is it open on the sides, that you have to wear something under it?
I think so, but hard to see in the pictures.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Absolutely….the sides are open…..the only thing that separates this from a regular poncho are the sleeves.

  16. andrea

I just got the swing coat in brick red and the shade of red is just fine! I love wearing red but they can be tricky. Asked a neighbor if it was a good fit and the first thing she said was,”Red is your color.” It doesn’t have to be Santa red but too blue or too brown and it doesn’t work for me. The fabric and color are a great match. Ordered the scarf and I have a few red hats and even gloves.

  17. Kathy

    Dear Louis
Will there be any more mulberry colored sweaters? Just ordered the poncho one.
    Thanks
    Kathy/ Wis

  18. Judy

Hello Louis, after much discussion on the other site and some even getting out of hand. You are calling one of the new products “sheer tights” and some are calling them pantyhose. What are they? What is the difference?

We know there are many different grades of pantyhose as in different grades in tights. Is there a difference in sheer tights and pantyhose? Please explain so maybe the board will calm down and fighting will come to an end.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Judy…..There’s a hurricane hitting Bermuda….isn’t that more important?….LOL. I am only giving you the information that is given to me, Frankly, I call them all stockings!!!I guess it’s generational. Since I have never worn them it never has been something I’ve given much thought to. LOL I don’t know if there is a difference between tights and pantyhose??? I never thought it would be a cause of concern. “They” either want sheers or they don’t….Why the argument….I really don’t understand the fuss, but I will ask the professionals and experts if and what the difference is….if that will make everyone happy.

      1. Judy

Dear Louis, I think you answered the question. They are the same thing! It’s what ever you want to call them “sheer tights” or “pantyhose”. All the same!

      2. Happy Lady

HI Louis, there is an easy resolution to this fuss thanks to Gardensia. She included a link in her post to mytights.com. On the left side there is a listing called pantyhose. States that pantyhose are a type of sheer tights and the term pantyhose is an American term for sheer tights. This is actually a cool website with all kinds of information. I’ve been wearing these things forever and got along fine not knowing what was the acceptable term. Ordered 2 pair of each of your new sheer hosiery and so looking forward to wearing. I have 30 pairs of all your new hosiery and love them. This is the year of the leg, every major store is advertising hosiery. As usual you keep us up to date. Thanks!

  19. Karlakaye

Is the olive branch in the faux Shetland poncho the same color as the olive Shetland v neck. The poncho looks like it has more yellow in it. Thanks! Karla

    1. Karlakaye

DISREGARD my last question Louis. Sorry, I just realized I have it all wrong!!!! No olive v neck—I was thinking of the green cardigan. Karla

  20. NJ Lady

Just received the shetland cardigan on wait list. Wrote a review already. It is soft and cuddly and the mauve is muted with grey.
    Love it
    Thank you

  21. Tylerpoo

Louis, is it possible to get some extra signature buttons from your manufacture for the cardigan?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I honestly don’t know. Since they are made to order for each garment I don’t know if they even have them. For which garment, because they come in different sizes. All I can do is ask.

      1. Tylerpoo

This is for the new ENR v-neck cardigan that came in Red , Green, Black, Navy( A259706). The buttons are smaller than the ones on the Jackets. I’m sure other Linea Ladies would want them also. I was thinking of changing the pewter on the HG to the gold buttons.
        Thanks

    2. Julie

Tylerpoo if Louis can’t get more buttons, would you be interested in trading? I have that gorgeous cardigan in Ivory & it has the gold buttons. I’m a big fan of the pewter/gunmetal so would be happy to switch buttons with you–there are 7 on the sweater plus the one extra.

      1. Tylerpoo

Julie, thanks for your generous offer, but the pewter was going on another sweater.

        1. Julie

          OK Tylerpoo!:)

    3. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Tylerpoo….I just heard back from my manufacturer, and as I thought the answer is no. Since the buttons are expensive they only produce enough for the production. Even if you wanted. to purchase them they couldn’t do it. Maybe you should take Julie up on her generous offer to switch buttons……..sorry

  22. Kathy

Mosaic print is posted on Q to order.

Louis- I think I remember on one of your blog post you mentioned that the fish pendant was coming in gunmetal. Is that
correct and if so do you have any rough idea what month it will show? Thanks.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That is correct, but I’m not sure of the delivery….I’ll check.

  24. Kate

Are we all sneak-peeked up or is there more to come? Just trying to make a list and be ready to pounce.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Two more…tghe Kate shirt reorder and the new WK skirt in olive, black and walnut. I had said stone for the skirt but I was wrong.

      1. Kate

And the new fur lined coat?

  25. Yvette

    Dear Louis,
I remember you said that the new DNR WK short sleeve top (A257382) would come in hunter green to match the HG cardigan. But I don’t recall if you said anything about this SS top coming in ivory. I’d love one to wear with my ivory cardigan, but if there will be no ivory, I’ll get the tank instead. Thanks as always!

      1. Yvette

Ok, then I’ll go with the tank. Thanks!

  26. Pamela

    Dear Louis:

Gotta say your new Ultimate Cardi in beautiful – order’d 3 colors with matching tanks. Tried on a Tory Burch Mako Cotton Cardi last time I was in Nordstrom to find her buttons much too ostentatious. Your’s are the perfect scale & really evaluates the design. The Black with Gunmetal is a real stunner with Linea 2-row Bead Necklace- Love it!

Have a ton of reviews to write whenever The Q gets around to fixing their latest “bug”. All the reviews are titled “Preview Your Review” ? LoL, it’s been over a month since I notified Corporate. . . ?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

What is that “preview your review”.

      1. Jane J.

When you write a customer review, you have to provide a “title” for the review — EXCEPT the latest QVC “bug” is removing the title we input and it comes up as “Preview Your Review.” Like Pamela, I have notified QVC multiple times about the problem beginning a month ago. I also will not write any more reviews until they fix the problem.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

That is so strange. I wonder why it’s coming up like that. I ‘m sure it’s not QVS’s intention.

          1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

QVC has a whole LOT of technical problems on the website. This latest one is yet another “annoying” glitch. For a while they were not posting some of the reviews. When I had one never post – a glowing masterpiece I might add on one of your items – I notified the company. then “someone” phoned me and tried to portray to me that only “SOME” of the reviews get posted. Then she insinuated I must have said something “bad” in the review. I stayed calm and told her is was a very favorable review. “Really???” she asked incredulously. “Well, I’ll see what I can do.” The next day my review was up. It all defies logic at times.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

I have nothing to say…better that way

            2. victoria1

I am constantly stunned that a vendor like QVC with the enormous customer base has a computer system less high tech than HSN! I mean doing this level of business on line/ QVCought to have its own brain trust of techies innovating for the future. instead working off ipad, I often have to re-enter my password three or four times while shopping…makes no sense!

    2. Chris/Jazzmom

My reviews have been titled and they have gone through as such–I’m on Firefox as my internet browser. Perhaps that might be the reason?
Funny thing yesterday as I was reviewing the ‘lost & found’ navy silk pinstripe sequined blouse, I added the pinstripe jacket as my recommended item for that garment and the site would not take it and I had to close off that window. I did write one review successfully and the inevitable group of ‘would you like to answer more questions’ page came up. Later on in the day, I was looking for my review (under duplicate submission) so I could post a review elsewhere to a friend about it and it brought me back to the ‘write a review’ page. Now today, I see that the review went through but it has not posted to the garment page as of yet.

Louis, that pinstriped silk navy blouse looks fabulous with the pinstriped navy jacket.

I’m so glad that the warehouse ‘found’ this item.

      Regards,
      Chris

  27. NJ Lady

    Hi Louis,
Just got a surprise email that my wait list v-neck sweater has shipped. Never thought I would get it.
My question. Between the v-neck, shetland cardigan & poncho. Which is longer or are they all the same length?
I like longer tops if I am wearing with leggings.

Thanks for all you do for us linea ladies.
The WK cardigans are wonderful and went back for another one. Is the WK cardigan shorter??

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The Shetlands are all long enough to wear leggings with ….they are longer than the WK cardigan.

    Louis,

Can the new slim pants offered in olive, stone and black be worn year round? I live in the NYC metropolitan area.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes….I wouldn’t wear them in snow or a blizzard, but for anything else yes.Certainly if you wear a skirt with tights you can wear these pants….and if necessary with tights

  29. TexasBarb

    All,
The Free Form Resin Necklace (J317652) has now posted. It’s available in grey, olive and root beer. I got mine!

  30. victoria1

    Louis,
got my fabulous black swing coat today! Perfection…medium, 5’5 and love the pewter buttons…notice the other inquiry about only one backing button, …I have one black Backing button, wouldn’t want them for all buttons…personal preference! Perfect runaround coat but can take me to lunch and museum in the city! …as my granddaughter says …TankQ

  31. maywoman

    Louis,

Received my double breasted swing jacket in the brick red today. I love the fit and color. My question concerns the buttons. Only one metal button is backed by a red button. Am I mistaken to have expected them all to be backed?

    Thank you in advance,
    Maywoman

    1. maywoman

      Louis,

Inspected my red coat again and realized the one red button has a function (not meant for backing)! My bad! You must have had a good chuckle when you read my previous comment.

      Maywoman

  32. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Good morning Louis….wonder if you could give me some direction regarding the lurex tights. I’ve ordered both and of course I can see lots of ways to wear these with black skirts or dresses. I need a little fashion-mind-opening so pardon what may seem like a simplistic question. Can you wear these with solid skirts of all colors? Like the new brick red skirt I have coming, or with any other of the many beautiful pencil WK skirts in my collection? etc…. And would the guideline be – “so long as there is black somewhere in the ensemble”? – as in sweater, jacket or scarf or something like that? And do you need to have something silver or gold in the ensemble as well?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy….everything you said was correct….you have good instincts and don’t need my advise. Wearing some kind of metallic to work with the tights is a good idea but not necessary…..even a print scarf with lurex….of course jewelry definitely pulls it together. I will say if you are going dress…then wear a pump….if your are going sportier or edgier…then a shoe boot.

      1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Thank you Louis! Noted, copied and saved 🙂

  33. Judy

Hi Louis, I tried the last ponte knit slim leg pants with a 30 inch inseam and I had to return all 3 pair. I looked as if I was waiting on a flood. Will these new slim leg pants have a hem we can let down for some added length or do you recommend just not ordering them if we know a 30 inch inseam is just too short for those of us with long legs?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Judi….unfortunately I would have to recommend not ordering them. I’m sorry they just will not order talls.

      1. Judy

Louis, thank you for your honest reply. I love how your pants fit and hate that I have to miss these.

  34. Patti j

Louis I just saw the sneak peak of your new faux fur coat.. I love it but wonder why do we need to wait until January. This is needed in The northeast by mid November..or early December. To wait until January is going to limit your buying audience most will need have purchased their new winter coat by that time.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Patti…I think you misunderstood. The coat is due in Nov. The short sleeve sweater is due in Jan.

      1. Patti j

        Thank you Louis !!!

  35. Sherry

I was so disappointed when the quilted jacket from 2 years ago was not reordered, because of weight loss I am unable to wear the one I have and I dearly loved it. I remember you saying there is something coming similar to that jacket this Fall/Winter??? Did I remember correctly or am I just wishful thinking…LOL.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

There is a quilted jacket coming in Jan. It’s a different style, but just as pretty.

      1. Sherry

Great news…but not until January??? I know….patience…patience…LOL. Can you tell us the colors, please? I probably will forget them by Jan… but it is something to look forward to.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Navy and Aubergine……they both look great with stone bottoms, navy and aubergine….The navy jacket looks fab with the pinstripe pant too.

          1. Sherry

I love the Aubergine color…will there be any WK tops and also bottoms coming in Aubergine???

  36. Barbara

    Hi Louis,

Found a Joan Vass sweater with a similar weave called ‘honeycomb knit’ used for Anne Klein linen shirt.

Joan Vass. Sweater retailed for $78.00 at Nordstrom, $29.00 at Nordstrom Rack. 70% Acrylic, 20% Wool, 10% Alpaca.

Could this fabric be woven in linen, flax, or hemp to give it body? Maybe, in combination with cotton or something else to keep cost down.

Unable to post photo here, but can be seen at

Nordstrom Rack : Joan Vass 3/4 Sleeve Cowl Neck Sweater – Style #: VS480213

    Thanks,

    Barbara

  37. Grace

    Dear Louis,
Do you expect the ponte knit maxi skirt to be re-ordered? If so, my vote for color additions would be navy and taupe/camel… And, I’ve ignored leggings until wearing yours and now I’m addicted! Most of the sizes are sold out for the seamless leggings…will they be re-ordered within the season, or is this a wait-and-see until next year? Thank you, in advance.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Grace, I do not expect the ponte maxi skirt to be reordered……I know inquiries have been made to fill wait list ordered for the leggings….so I would recommend you go on the wait list for what ever you want so you are counted and are on the list. This way if the manufacturer can do it for this season you will get them.

      1. Grace

I’m now officially waitlisted for multiple colors. Thanks, Louis.

QVC had your double breasted swing jacket on its show today (10/11). It was shown fully outfitted with other Louis Dell’Olio pieces and accessories. The other items were not available at QVC. Where can I purchase these other items?

My jkt is ” hunter green”, As in that example ALL colors….navy, red black and hunter had matching berets, and gloves. The model in the navy was wearing ” the new” zip front vest in a ” golden” color that matched her scarf she was wearing. Thought perhaps vest was also available in hunter(?) I was successful in getting the hunter green whisper knit scarf in hunter, and wanted the vest also, but it is NOT offered on QVC! The berets and gloves are also NOT offered on QVC, and the whisper knit slim leg pant in “xs” hunter, although offered was not available to me at this time due to sales in that size.:(

    1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Donna, I always lament that the gloves are not offered at QVC. As to the “golden” color scarf and matching zip front vest ~ both of which I own and love ~ the “vest” is actually a Linea cardigan ~ A257380 ~ and the matching Linea scarf is ~ A257914. These two you saw are in the color choice called “nutmeg”. Louis has a fair # of items in hunter green this year other than the scarf. A259706, A72448, A217629, A257385 – also available in petite, and in the same product number as the nutmeg scarf, there is a hunter green option….. Sadly also the berets are not available at QVC. And what you thought was a zip-front vest but was actually the zip-front cardigan, was probably in the black color option. That one is not available in hunter green. Hope that helps.

    2. new york karan

Donna, put swing jacket into the search at the top of this page, and you can see all the jackets and pieces similar to the way they were on the AM show. Louis writes wonderful descriptions with all the items’ numbers.

  39. Dana

Just double checked your previous posts and didn’t realize the hunter green was also a variation in the Shetland version (without reading the post, I knew I was getting the grey) and I’m debating on the stone (love it with the blue shirt I already purchased) but this color is tricky for me as a blonde. I’m now torn if I should get the WK cardian A259706 or the Shetland in the hunter green? What do you suggest (I already purchased the navy and black cardigans and still plan on getting the red in the WK)?

  40. Dana

You have some many great items in your collection, I am having a hard time deciding which items I am purchasing. Can you suggest what you would wear with the Hunter Green Cardigan and matching tank (this is the ENR with your “L” buttons. I already purchased the Black and Navy cardigans and I am currently purchasing the Hunter Green and Red versions. Love a great cardigan! Patiently waiting for the faux shetland cardigan too (hope I didn’t miss it). Does the Hunter green have a matching skirt?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

There is isn’t a solid Hunter Green skirt, but there is the HG WK pant in reg and petite lengths. There are a few WK tops in HG…the Tank and TN avail now, and in Jan….a short sleeve jewel neck, plus the flame stitch top and skirt both came in HG and the print lace panel top also is in HG……The Shetland Boyfriend cardigans are totally different….they will be on my Oct 27th show at 1pm

  41. Diamondscribe

Louis, I love the “Shetland” acrylic sweaters. I haven’t been able to wear them yet as it is still in the upper 80’s here. But, I have them on the shelf ready for the first cool day (and once in a while give the knit a squeeze). Such a soft, cushy knit! I’ve been trying to hold off asking this because I would imagine that you might get tired of reading “Would you make this?”…But, here goes…A few weeks ago I ordered a 100% acrylic sweater from another QVC line thinking how great it would be with my Linea Leggings. I was so excited by the concept of the sweater that I forgot that not every designer on the Q takes the extra effort to make sure the knit they use is superb. I received the cardigan and the knit was horrid. It was coarse, scratchy and so thick and rubbery that when the mill turned over the hem and stitched it, the hems rolled out like welting on a sofa cushion! Great idea in the cardigan. Poor execution. I would like to put in a request for you, the master of knits, to do a similar cardigan. This one is long enough for leggings, has a draped collar (which I know you do so well) and has faux leather on the pockets and elbows. I bet the Shetland acrylic would be the bomb in this style. The item# is A257696. It sells @ $80, which I don’t think would be a problem if it had been in a decent knit. This is an item shouting to be done Louis style!

  42. Yoko

I have been searching for a suede or leather vest for 2 years. Can not find one I like or that fits correctly and I can move in. I am an small and often in my size they are made for a teenage. Finally, I had my tailor alter My Linea suede jacket a236138 by removing the sleeves and make my vest. It is quite nice. Perhaps you would please consider designing a suede vest for us with the side ribbing. I really want one in cognac color.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I will submit a sketch , but no guarantees that they will select it.

      1. Yoko

Thank you. If possible, a two way zipper on this dream vest would be most appreciated. Since it will be several inches below the waist, this would allow for a nice look when sitting. I also like that in these leather items with knit I can easily wear the Xsmall size. I am normally a size 6 sometimes 4 at fashions at Nordstrom. Much like Jac only 6 inches shorter. Your xsmall or small always fit beautifully. It’s just a matter of how fitted I prefer the item. That is so nice to always fit.

  43. Dana

I have your ponte knit jacket in both the taupe and black (fabulous!) but I want to know if your jacquard animal pull-on pencil skirt in taupe will work with the taupe jacket?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Dana…….ABSOLUTELY!!!! They were designed to be worn together…Now…if you really want to knock it out of the park…this is what I recommend…Any BLACK WHISPER KNIT SWEATER from the new or classic Turtlenecks…to the V-neck or side buttoned tunic….they will all work great….then you must get the ANIMAL INSTINCTS TIGHTS in BLACK or to change it up the HERRINGBONE TIGHTS in BLACK…..a pair of fabulous black shoe boots, Black sunglasses a black shoulder bad and…believe me….you will look INCREDIBLE!!!Let me know how it work out!

      1. Dana

Already have the new black turtleneck (I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, so to warm to wear yet, but I’m plotting out my fall/winter wardrobe) and I have your solid black tights. Was not sure on the herring bone (love the style) but heard they run short? I have almost a 34″ inseam?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

There were mostly good reviews and the women who weren’t happy never give their weight so it’s hard to tell if they got the right size or were they on the cusp of two sizes…then for these it would have been better to size up.. The models, who are all 5’9′ and 5’10” haven’t had any problems and they are all legs, so weight does play an important part. If not…the Animal Instincts are really fabulous especially with the cheetah skirt.Solid black is good but these are special.

          1. Dana

Thanks Louis, added to my purchases for today, based on your recommendations. Sadly missed out on the “leggings” black, but did get the navy and dark grey.

  44. Kate

Leah’s right that coats make great gifts! I hadn’t thought of it until she mentioned the idea. I ordered the swing coat for my Mom (red) and my sister (green) along with WK scarves. Love when gift shopping is this easy!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

When I was a kid getting a new coat was always the “big” present in the biggest box. I wanted coloring books and “The John Nagy Learn to Draw Deluxe Set”. You are a good daughter and sister!

      1. Kate

Hopefully you’re taking a few day off to relax and prepare for the next shows BUT a sneak peek of the new skirt would be most welcome!!!

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I will definitely do that, but honestly photographs never do skirts justice. You need to see them on a body….moving….to get the real look of a skirt. I can tell you they will definitely fill a gap and need in a wardrobe…and look good too!

          1. Sherry

Your sneak peeks are so fabulous…it’s not only about the item you are sneak peeking…it’s about how you style the item and give us ideas of how to work that item into our wardrobes…LOVE sneak peeks!!!

      2. Sheesh

OMG, Louis, I remember watching the John Nagy “Learn to Draw” show back in the 50’s on Long island. What a blast from the past!

  45. Jackie

Louis, I have a fair number of your coats. I love the tam hats on the models and have searched high and low for ones that look similar. Either they are made of bad cheap wool/felt, sized too small, are in bad ugly colors, and they just do not look “tailored” like the ones you have the models wear. Since you are selling hose, would you consider selling tam hats?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jackie….I have asked the buyers many times to please buy berets, but they just don’t want to buy them. I can’t force them…..I have gotten them from all over and they were very inexpensive. Have you googled berets? There are quite a few options and some are very nice with a good assortment of colors. You can even be more specific and google “French Berets”.

    2. Jackie

Hmmmm. The Q sells scarves you would think they would sell berets, especially during the winter season. Gee whiz. I’ll try “French Berets” and see what I find on Google. thanks much for trying. Looking forward to buying the top with the peplum bottom. It is a good style for my figure type.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

I googled berets myself and there are many to choose from. They are the same as what I have….you have to try different companies to get the colors you may want.

  46. Mimi

As always, I hope you, Jac and the dogs are well. I received my 2 WK button up cardigans today (A259706). They are as my review says, FANTASTIC! I’m going to order another one tonight. I saw that there were returns on the Super Ponte Knit leggings in the xxs in the black so, I am also going to order another 2 pairs and bend over the waistband, as I do with my other 3 pairs. Is it possible, when you make your maxi pencil skirts next year, to make the xxs a little smaller in the hips. I am petite and my hips are 33 and your skirts and pants are too big in the hips for me to wear. I have read on the reviews and the blogs that there are other woman that have the same issue. I know it’s hard to please everyone! Thank again for all that you do and putting up with QVC. Stay well.

  47. NJ Lady

    Hi Louis,
Thanks so much for helping us to look beautiful. I emailed you about the OTO cardigan & sizing. You told me to order the medium, but I put the large on hold thinking it would sell out. It was perfect and I changed the large to black medium because
It will look different with the gunmetal buttons. I can hang these in my closet – correct or would you fold?
I am on waitlist for the v necks so happy I can purchase in cardigans.
    Thanks again

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear NJ Lady…I do not recommend hanging unless they are padded hangers…even then better to be safe than sorry.

  48. Ann

    Hi Louis,

I just received your pinstripe blazer and pants in black and they are beautiful! I wear tailored clothes to work everyday and this suit is a wonderful addition to my collection. The fit is perfect. I don’t have to have a single alteration to either garment. Please, Please, Please make more tailored suit separates in the same fabrication. It is so nice to have clothes fit without having to spend $50+ dollars in alterations. Some nice silk blouses to go with the suits would also be a nice addition to the collection….Thank you for the wonderful design.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Ann….this is so nice to hear. I was starting to think nobody wanted tailored blazers anymore they are all over the runways, but they don’t preform well.

      1. Cela

Oh no. The wool seamed jackets are such a good value, I’m picking up the teal and fuchsia to go over the teal and raspberry wood block dresses, and hope that they work together… so I can get back to church.

      2. 2E

Oh, Louis, so many of us love and rely on your tailored blazers! They’re beautifully cut, classic, timeless pieces that can be dressed up or down to fit any lifestyle. Your jackets and WK pieces are the foundation of my wardrobe, and I watch for them with each new group you present. I’ve had so many ladies in very high-end stores stop me and ask about your clothes — love the look on their faces when I tell them how they, too, can have such beautiful things!

  49. Chris/Jazzmom

Just wanted to tell you that the olive lace open cardigan arrived today and I put it over the new lace print tank in olive– fabulous!! Hopeful for another bout of Indian summer to put it to its 1st wearing!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      It looks great tied low

  50. Cela

    Hi Louis,
Lisa Robertson announced she is leaving QVC. It came at the beginning of the Beauty Awards show last night. Just a brief statement she is leaving in December. Just wondered if you had heard.

Have a great show, I’ll be ordering the swing jacket tomorrow !

    Cela.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes….that kind of news travels fast!

      1. Cela

kinda the shocker of the century…:-)I wrote her a letter because I think very highly of her, can’t find it on her blog now ????

  51. Diamondscribe

Louis, I’ve been trying to decide on a coat to order. Here in Florida, there isn’t much need for a coat, much less multiple coats. However, the brief 3 weeks of cold (and even snow here in the panhandle) we had last winter has me looking at buying a coat. I’m familiar with the swing fit of towmorrow’s boucle. I have your double breasted swing style in the tan cotton twill that has been my “coat” the past couple years. Before I commit to the boucle swing coat, would you be able to tell me how fitted the faux fur coat will be? Is it more fitted like the pea jacket, or fitted somewhere in between like last year’s boucle “Jackie” jacket/coat? Or, is it a relaxed A-line? Since I can only warrant one coat in my Florida wardrobe, I would like a bit more info as to how the boucle swing and the faux fur coat compare. Also, will the faux fur have about the same amount of wool or more wool, than the boucle? Help! Thanks. Deborah

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

They are very different. The reversible fur has a fabric that looks like a rain coating with a mouton like fur….no wool at all. It is a walking coat length 35 Inches?? I’m not home to measure. It’s like a wrap coat with buttons and a big shawl collar. It come with a tie belt. So on one side you have a black or stone rain type fabric and on the other side a black fur. I don’t think this is a Florida coat…..do they wear faux fur coats in Florida in the winter? Maybe the short swing would be better

      1. Diamondscribe

Thank you, Louis. I ordered the swing in red this morning. I’m in the panhandle of Florida, so we do have the four seasons and we do have temperatures from 20-40 for about a month. So, yes, ladies wear fur here. In fact, those that were born here are the first to bundle up in fur collared coats and Uggs on the feet when the temperature drops below 40°. Me…I’m a transplanted northerner. I wear your red ethnic-embroidered topper as my outerwear coat. It was just last year when we had a couple weeks below 0° that I decided even a Floridian needs one real outerwear option, LOL.

The rain-type fabric interests me. Maybe there might be a rain-type walking coat length without fur lining in the future?

  52. Becky lazy lei

Dear Louis, are there any other wool jackets or coats coming in navy? I’m definitely getting the swing jacket in hunter green as I’ve bought all other pieces offered in hunter. I really don’t want the same jacket in two colors. Thank you! Have a safe and beautiful fall trip to the show 🙂

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Becky. The swing and the reversible fur/fabric coats are the last two coats/jackets I am doing for the season. Navy will only be avail in the swing.

      1. Becky lazy lei

Thank you, Louis! I’ll definitely want to rethink this 🙂

  53. JBCinSD

    Hi, Louis,

I am going to buy your boucle swing coat in both black and green as soon as it is listed. I sometimes wear a medium in your jackets, sometimes a large. Shall I size up or down in this one (with the understanding, of course, that a coat will be worn with a sweater or the like under it)?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear JBC….unless you are thinking of putting a very bulky sweater under it like those thick Irish fisherman sweaters, you should stay with your normal size. They are generous, not too too big but certainly not small. The body of this jacket was taken from a successful jacket I did in the pasted so there’s no need to worry about the size.

      1. JBCinSD

I don’t wear bulky sweaters. Sounds as though a large might be safer? My “normal size” is a medium+ or a large- in your jackets 🙂

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I don’t really think you can go wrong with the large especially if you are on the cusp.

  54. Carol

Hi Louis, I cannot decide which color to get in the Swing Coat this coming Saturday. I love Jac’s taste…which one does she like best?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

You can’t go by Jac…..she only owns black

      1. Pamela

LOL – Black is the NEW Black! It’s always been Universal. . .and I live remotely of NYC. LOL, but what do I know except Black is beautiful!

        1. Pamela

Please don’t take wrong way = good tidings always .

          1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Pamela….nothing to take the wrong way….good tidings always to you too!

  55. DeLois

Received my cardigan OTO today, cannot believe it came so soon. I love the fit ….. I will wear it a lot. Thank-you

  56. Beachbird

The gun metal buttons on my new black cardi are superb. Thank you.

  57. Kathy

I did not see the reply so I am resubmitting the question.
Is the navy in the whisper knit the same as the navy in ponte knit- will the whisper knit TN exactly or closely match the ponte knit slacks? I am trying to get that column of color.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kathy, I just answered this question not 10 minutes ago….did it not come through? The navy WK was supposed to match the ponte but it is off. The WK have a green cast when you compare the two.I guess the WK navy pant, which is the perfect match, didn’t work for you.

  58. Sharon Santourian-Holman

Congratulations on the Pea Coat, Louis! It’s a winner. I didn’t need another jacket, but when I saw the models…it was stunning and I’m not disappointed .:). Been wearing it already.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sharon…so glad you got it….it’s the perfect runaround jacket and has tons of pizazz…what color did you get?

      1. Sharon Santourian Holman

I got black, it matches my BMW, LOL! But, I do have the posh knit black scarf, so they look great together. This jacket, this scarf, black WK Maxi that I am going crazy over and I look fabulously chic! It’s just an amazing piece so Ladies, if you’re not sure you need yet another jacket….YES YOU DO! Hugs

  59. Nancy

Hi Louis, I’m sending this again because my original submission was lost when this new page started and I’m not finding a way to go back to your earlier pages. My question is regarding the fish and chain. I purchased it last year in the yellow gold finish and have worn it with love. I took it with me on our last trip to Texas and noticed when I was home unpacking that the chain is now worn to silver while the fish is still as gold as the day I received it. I have always kept it separate from other pieces as I do all of your pieces. I was hoping you could shed some light on this and perhaps tell me where I might get another chain so I “match”!

I also mentioned in my message to you that I also took the gold cabachon cross with me on that trip. My husband and I were visiting the Botanical Gardens in San Antonio and 2 gentlemen followed me for a while gesturing at me and speaking quietly to each other. Finally one of them approached me and asked where I got my cross because they thought it was the most beautiful cross they had ever seen. They wanted to know if they could still buy it and where to get it. Of course, I’m always happy to share with people who aren’t familiar with your line or QVC. These gentlemen were from Spain, so I’m quite sure they know beautiful crosses when they see them! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make some “new friends”!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I forwarded your message to my Manufacturer…..let’s see what they say.

      1. Tylerpoo

Louis, the same has happened with my gold fish chain and I have 2 of them.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Nancy…not sure you saw my reply….I forwarded your post to my manufacturer…..they are looking into it.

      1. Nancy

        Thank you Louis.

  60. Lyn

Louis, can you tell me if the Regular Super Ponte Leggings in Black have been reordered? I checked inventory, and they are only available in the largest sizes. However, the Taupe are available in ALL sizes. I REALLY want the size small regular Black Super Ponte Leggings. Thanks, Louis.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Lyn…no they have not been reordered. They never reorder within the season. They always want to see what the selling s and what the returns are first….so they won’t decide for at least 4 more month. As you have noticed the best sales were in Black reg length only so I don’t have high hopes for these to be reordered….too bad as they are SUPER!

      1. Lyn

I love the Super Ponte Leggings. Recently, a size medium regular black showed up in inventory, and I ordered those, although I wear a small. I’m trying them on right now, and they are too big for me. They are the right length, however. I think I can get by with the waist the way it is; but I was wondering if you thought I could have a dressmaker take in the sides and the legs so they would fit me better. I really don’t want to return them, unless a small shows up (which I highly doubt). Thanks for your ideas.

          1. Lyn

Thanks for your reply. There is a seamstress in my building, and I’ll have her take a look at the leggings. I do love them, and hope you’ll consider asking QVC to reorder them in regular sizes in black, navy and walnut (or another dark brown). I’d buy one pair of each for sure.

  61. Barbara

    Hi Louis,

“Dear Barbara….your description of the fabric was spot on and I know exactly which one you are speaking of….”

Happy to hear you remember it. The fabric made the shirt, but the design and cut also were exceptional. I might add to my previous description, just in case you run into a similar fabric, it had dropped shoulders about 1 to 1 ½ inches. Sleeves long enough when buttoned caused them to blouse a bit to accommodate bending of the arm, not that you wouldn’t take that into consideration. Some don’t. 2 to 2 1/2 inch wide cuffs, unbuttoned, did fall over the hand, but I liked the look of turning up the cuffs. The shirt was oversized to accommodate a shirt or sweater underneath. Loose fitting. Fabric was very flexible and draped very well, not adding bulk, not at all clingy. The drape was important to its overall look. Understated buttons slightly larger than that found on a man’s shirt, the same color as the fabric.

I wore this in the Spring with long and short sleeve tops. In the summer over short sleeve and tank tops. In the fall over long sleeve shirts, t-shirts, and lightweight sweaters. It was very versatile. Casual enough to wear over jeans, but sophisticated enough to wear with skirts and pants for work. Perfect for your fans and QVC buyers.

“WOW that was many moons ago.”

I was a toddler, then. Ha! Ha! Actually, in my early 20’s.

“That fabric came from a very well known and very expensive mill in the Como that specialized in Linen and Linen blends also cotton.”

The shirt was around $300 in the late 70’s, using that fabric probably would cost double that or more, now.

I have been looking for a copy of this shirt for over five years. Considered having it made, but couldn’t find the fabric or anything close to it, but with open weave popular, thought, something similar might be available, now. Even looking for this shirt on eBay under the vintage clothes category.

OK, there you go. Who knows what fabric you might find next year, three years down the road.

    Thanks,

    Barbara

    1. Nancy

      Sounds heavenly, Barbara

  62. Beryl

    Hi Louis,
The new top is gorgeous. My question is I love the clay but I am a winter. Would that color work for me or do I do one of the others. Remember it’s my birthday month so Linea keeps coming and coming. Everything is so beautiful.
    Beryl

    1. Nancy

I realize you’re asking Louis, Beryl, but I would think the mulberry would be lovely on you. I’m a fall, so I’m going for the green!

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Beryl….I honestly have no idea because I don’t know what a winter, fall, spring summer is. I learned years ago from the best makeup artists in the work that with a little adjustment of colors anyone can wear anything. Kevyn Aucoin did did amazing things with makeup to change someones total look….google him.

  63. Enjay

    Hi Louis,

Is the new Faux Shetland Cardigan oversized, like the v-neck?

I bought that one in mauve abd stone, and I can’t stop wearing them! I plan to get the cardigan in charcoal, maybe in green, and I’m eyeing that clay, too. Your “new fall neutrals” are driving me crazy!

I’ll also be getting the poncho in stone. I’m loving ponchos this year, and was about to buy an Anthropologue one when you posted your sneak peak. I love your’s, and can’t wait till it’s available.

  64. Kate

The new cardigans are simply remarkable in terms of fit and quality! So happy to finally own the ultimate cardigan that will be in constant circulation in my wardrobe. The red is seriously elegant and I love the gunmetal buttons on the black. Once the reviews some pouring in, these will sell well and it is my hope that next year we get more, this time in ivory, grey, and brown!

  65. Nancy

Hi Louis, I have an unusual question for you. I bought the fish necklace last year in the yellow gold. I have worn it many times and love it. It’s a real attention getter and I get a lot of wonderful compliments and questions about it. I just returned from a family trip and while unpacking, I noticed the chain is now silver while the fish itself has remained gold. I always wrap it carefully and separately, so I’m wondering if you might be able to shed some light on this for me.

Additionally, I must also comment on the day I was wearing your beautiful cabochon cross (J264036) at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens and 2 gentlemen followed me to comment on its beauty and ask me where they could buy one. They thought it was the “most beautiful one they had ever seen” and these gentlemen were from Spain. I know first hand they have gorgeous crosses there as well!
