“OCTOBER 03”

……………………The Oct 03 group was the end of Fall/Winter and the introduction of Holiday dressing…….The top left fabric swatch shows a floral bouquet print on velvet. The insert needlepoint was the inspiration. It came from one of Jac’s needle point pillows. She needle pointed constantly when we were watching TV….a true multi-tasker! She ordered her designs from England. They came as blank canvasses, and Jac had to count each stitch according to a chart…..you didn’t want to miss count!! There are pillows in every room of the house…..even in some of the bathrooms! Some of the pillows have beautiful bead work!!…..The jacket had turn back cuffs and an under collar in a contrast color [don’t remember the fabric, but my guess would be silk]……The next jacket was a print hounds tooth check on a Mole Skin fabric…..a sort of faux suede finish…..It too had contrast collar and cuffs and was fully lined. It had two patch pockets……….next was an ENR sweater dress with contrast bugle beaded trims….All of the three colors, red, ivory and black had black bugle beads……..Below left is a silk and cotton classic sweater to coordinate with the jackets…….Next was a beautiful sweater in an angora blend….it had tonal pearl and sequin emb……Like all of my embroideries it was very lush. The emb. was close together at the top and gradually spread out to nothing at the waist It was all hand done……the next sweater had a beautiful cascading leaf design in a combination of bugle beads and tiny sequins. It was asymmetrical and had a branch flowing down the back over one shoulder……Last but not least was a beautiful silk charmuse tunic shirt with bugle beaded collar, cuffs and hidden placket front……..No one to this point was using bugle beads for emb. in a major way the way I did…Most just scattered a few hear and there…………..2003 ended my 3rd year on QVC!.

…………………….The Sept. 03 had quite a few sweater knit pieces……starting at the top was a long ribbed cardigan with a wide roll over ribbed tuxedo front  collar….next was the coordinating square neck short sleeve classic sweater……next a knit gored maxi skirt and then the knit maxi dress…….Below left is a Harlequin pattern suede jacket with all of the diamonds crocheted together. It had knit rib sleeves and collar………Next is a cotton twill “Barn Jacket” with faux suede or leather collar [can’t remember], and cuffs. It had a shoulder patch [also called a rifle patch on men’s jackets] and zipper patch pockets………Next is my silk crinkle snake print shirt, followed by the pant in the group.

“AUGUST 03”

………………………For the August 03 show I presented my first TSV……..it was a Boiled Wool jacket with “Wheat and Vine” emb. this jacket was so successful that it was reordered for the next 3 or 4 years. I think if this jacket were avail today it would still sell as well, and I know many of the ladies still own and wear it. I think my mother had it in FOUR colors!……The “Upsell” to the TSV jacket was a silk and cotton TN…..next a long cardigan coat with a self tie belt. It was an English rib cardigan with a turn over collar……next is the silk charmuse shirt which coordinated with the quilted jacket, and below that a jersey tunic shirt with silk charmuse collar and cuffs also in coordinating colors……to the left of the shirt is the Ponte knit Blazer Coat with pick stitching  detailing…..The third Fall season was off to a good start! A successful TSV makes everyone happy!!….P.S……I still have some of these TSV jackets!

………………………The Aug 03 group continued with a WAFFLE knit wool and acrylic blazer sweater in black and tobacco……I still have these samples and they still look great…. This sweater was reorder in 2004 in 2 additional new colors……the English rib cardigan and the blazer sweater repeat……..next the square neck cotton/acrylic 3/4 sleeve sweater……….the tunic sweater had a roll over neck was in a 5 gauge cotton/acrylic rib. It came in black and burgundy……..below is a maxi paisley print gored skirt…….the trench jacket was done in khaki and navy. I don’t have an indication what fabric it was made in……the next jacket is boiled wool with pick stitching. It came in red and taupe both with black stitching……….the next jacket was in suede in sea foam and tan……the last jacket was a zip front ponte jacket in Aqua and tan……………

“MAY 03 CON’T”

…………….Since May was my Anniversary I was given a second date for a show with a whole new group…..This second May 03 group had a tropical vibe……there was a crinkle silk georgette tunic in a large palm print. It was in two colors….black with tan and aqua and taupe…….the FUJI SILK tunic was so soft and flowy on the body. The fabric had a sand washed finish that made it feel like talc……..It was just wonderful to wear and felt incredible on the body…..the women loved this fabric, and were upset when I was forced to give it up. The buyers would not accept the higher pricing…….Next the silk and cotton ballet neck sweater had 3/4 sleeves in aqua, peach and cocoa…..The tank was a silk and cotton knit too…..it came in black, ivory, cocoa, aqua and coral….The silk and cotton blend became another casualty of silk price increases…the pant was in linen and rayon, and the skirt was a reorder knit skirt in new colors……
