………………….On Sunday morning we all went to the ELM STREET DINNER for breakfast. We got there by 8:00am when it opened, and by 8:30 every table was filled. Karen had an omelette that she concocted……..I had fried eggs with bacon and toast….and Cathy had Eggs Benedict…..We also had an order of blueberry pancakes that we split……..After breakfast we decided to go to one of our favorite stores….”Terrain” in Westport…..I never leave that store without 4 or 5 candles [I love SEA SALT], and an assortment of soaps……Then in the pouring rain we made it back to my house…….The girls thought, with the bad weather, it would be best to leave early for their 3 hour drive back to PA…..so off they went……..As usual we all had a great time!

………………..Cathy and Karen came up to visit on Saturday so we could do the FACE BOOK LIVE SHOW……..They were supposed to arrive about 11:00am which would give us lots of time to discuss the planned 1pm show, but you know the saying…..”Men make plans, and God laughs”…..They got stuck in tons of traffic, and it took them forever to get over the George Washington Bridge……..They arrived at 12:30. It’s a good thing I had everything ready. At 1:00pm we did the show during a thunder storm, which you could hear on the video.. The video is both here on my website, and it is also posted on my Facebook page………..Afterwards we went for an early dinner at Cafe Silvium, which has been written up as one of the best Italian restaurants in Ct…..I started with a sea food salad, Cathy and Karen had a salad…I had roasted salmon over risotto with asparagus…..Cathy had roasted sea bass with tomatoes over a bed of lentils, and Karen had eggplant parmesan…Cathy and I split a ravioli dish….yum…..it was all delicious…..Afterwards we went for ice cream and then back to my house where we streamed a movies……”Gifted” with Chris Evans………….It was a great day and evening.

“SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2001 REMEMBERED”

……………………….Who could possibly forget the horrors that would enfold on that exquisitely beautiful morning of September 11th 2001……..It will forever be embedded in my brain…….I can recall visiting the restaurant high up in one of the twin towers. I was standing at the very edge of the ceiling to floor windows, with the tips of my shoes touching the windows, looking at the incredible view of the Statue of Liberty. Looking straight down I suddenly had the sensation of falling, and had to step back. It was very scary…….I can’t possibly imagine what it was like for those people trapped in those burning buildings…..I remember the images of people so desperate they jumped to their certain death from those same windows…..The HORROR…….That day the collective innocence and naivete of this nation was lost forever. No one could have imagined our country could have been attacked in this heinous way…..Three planes brought down by terrorists. Even the word terrorist would take on a new meaning after that day. I knew one person on the first plane that flew out of Boston….A mother of two boys…….The HORROR………Every year since the first anniversary I sit in front of my TV and solemnly listen to the names of all the people that perished that faithful day, and I think about all of the people that have died since, because of the downing of those towers……The HORROR……..May they all Rest In Peace, and somehow may peace come to all of the families who have lost loved ones……A whole new generation of young people have been born since September of 2001, They should be taught of this day….It is so much more than history…..It marks the day this country was changed forever………..REMEMBER
