Dear Linea Ladies

Dear Linea Ladies……you all know I hold you in the highest regard, and would certainly not want to offend any of you…..that’s why I’m making this request. Please keep politics and religious discussions off the “Ask Louis” section of my web site. We all have our beliefs and opinions, but this is the space to discuss fashion……movies, theater, concerts, good books etc etc…..I hope a joyful place…..Β I wouldn’t want anyone to feel they are not welcome here because their views are different from yours……PLEASE take this in the warmest and sincerest way that it is truly meant……I want this site to be welcoming and inclusive………………much Love……………….Louis

    Dear Louis
I personally appreciate that you answer all of my questions about your clothing.
It is an extremely rare occurrence to be able to receive fashion advice from a world class award winning designer such as yourself. This website is so helpful on so many levels. Thank you Louis.

  2. Chris/Jazzmom

Thanks Louis for saying this. I enjoy looking and discussing the fashion and design here. I probably disagree with you politically but we all have our POV on things. Anyone who is friends with me on FB knows where I stand.

That being said, looking forward to all the new items coming.

    Regards,
    Chris

I crossed the borderline. Sorry about that, Louis (and Linea Lovers). We all need a break and fun.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Goldie…..no need to apologize. We all need to vent sometimes. I just want to make sure everyone feels comfortable coming here.

      1. Goldie76

You did the right thing, Louis. Thank you.

    2. Grace

Sorry, Goldie, if I got us into trouble…I always enjoy talking to you. And, I meant to also add my congratulations on your retirement! Think of all the fun to be had now πŸ˜‰

      1. Goldie76

No, Grace, not your fault at all. Honestly. I’m the one who was the “primum mobile,” the first mover, whom I always cite when fault-finding. When my two sons got into a fight when they were young, I always asked who did the initial offensive act. He was the one I always held to be at fault. You were very thoughtful to write what you did, though. As for the retirement, I ended my run with FAA at the end of July. I am looking for something else to do part-time but have not yet looked. Thank you for the congrats!

I enjoy communicating with you, too. It is difficult finding sympatico friends and acquaintances in the world at large. And for me, “sympatico” does not mean you have to share my political beliefs. If I like you, I like you.

        1. Grace

You are very kind, as always, Goldie. I didn’t realize your retirement wasn’t more recent–good for you to take time off to recharge before taking on part-time work. You are such a talented writer…you’ll have your pick of projects, I’m sure. Well, some conversation is off-limits for us here and there, but I feel fortunate to have found you among the Linea Ladies. You are so right–it is rare to find sympatico friends and acquaintances in the world, and when we do, it’s a lovely surprise.

          1. Goldie76

Thanks again, Grace. You are a sweetheart.

  5. Sallie

    Two words: Well said!

  6. Shari

    I agree totally ,as well.
    Let’s talk fashions, girls!!

  7. julie

    Good call Louis, GRAZIE!

I can’t wait for your show next week…it’s my son’s birthday but I will be getting myself a couple presents, the black & red tunic tanks for sure, & maybe a piece of jewelry.

  8. Grace

Thanks for your guidance on this, Louis. No surprise at all–and this should be a “safe zone” to talk about what we all share in common: a love of Linea!

    1. Grace

Dear Louis, please feel free to delete my comments in the “Black Elongated Cardigan” post so that anyone who revisits that post is not offended by the political comments. Thanks, and my apologies.

      1. louis dell'olio

        Dear Grace…thank you……but no need

        1. Goldie76

Just saw this, Louis. “Dittoing” Grace’s comment to you re any of my offensive political comments.

Wish we could scrub them now. Life. You have some regrets…

I second this definitely! By the way, just got the new t-shirts in white, navy, and pink and love them! They are so much better than anything I’ve had before in a t-shirt. And, yes, the “not pink” girl got one in pink and love the way the color enhances my complexion. (Well, at least to this baby boomer it enhances my complexion!) I’d love to wear the pink t-shirt with navy, white, or perhaps a light tan color in a skirt, capris, or slacks. Thanks!

Thank you Louis for requesting a politic free site. Last Friday I had my nails done in a salon that usually has home and garden tv muted with nice music in the background. A lady next to me had a hissy fit because management refused to turn on her political news show. Thank goodness management said no. Sometimes “girls just want to have fun”!!!!!!!!!! Me? Love the fashion and jewelry talk. Keeps me coming back to your blog. If I want politics, I will watch it in my living room.

  11. karlakaye

Perfectly said, Louis. Thanks so much. Love talking about Linea clothing, how, when, and where we wear them etc.

  12. Rebecca

Well said, Louis. And I am glad you said it. πŸ™‚

  13. Maia

I add my thanks, too, Louis. Well said.

  14. Elaine

    Thank you Louis and Amen.
Enjoying my purchases which arrived this weekend….one of which is my sixth Kate shirt, love the periwinkle.
Looking forward to your next show.
    Thanks again, Elaine

  15. Yvette

    Dear Louis,
Thank you so much for keeping this website a “politics free” zone! It seems that there is nowhere we can go nowadays that is a neutral zone free of negativity and hostility. I’m so happy to know that this will continue to be one of those happy places where we can relax and enjoy! (I’d truly rather not know my fellow Linea Ladies’ political leanings.)

  16. Mary in CT

Thank-you Louis for respecting all who come here to enjoy your words of fashion wisdom. What a gentleman you are!

  17. Seka

Louis, Ever since I became aware of your Blog and the ‘Ask Louis’ section – I have always enjoyed visiting and participating here!

  18. diane228

Couldn’t agree more! I was a little dismayed when I saw the
    forum today.THANK YOU1

  19. Jane J.

Thank you, Louis, for speaking up about this. I have always come here as a safe space to discuss your new fashions and jewelry. Since Thursday this has not been a nice place to be. Postings are not only in the “Ask Louis” section which go away, but also in the descriptions for the new items which stay forever. Please make this a kind, joyful and safe place again. Thank you.
