“THE V-NECK BLACK SWING TOP”

rivera

…………………..You know I couldn’t do this top, and not do it in BLACK…….I’m showing the Black top with my new Black Ponte crop pant coming next month, A302601. It is similar to my Super ponte but lighter in weight……..Here is the RIVERA MAYA necklace and earring in the Russian Gold and Antique Gold combo. Your Etruscan Gold bead bracelet works perfectly with this set…….Months ago when I was planning the colors for each piece, Jac said to me, “you’re going to do this top in Black for me aren’t you?” How could I not. I only wish she were here to enjoy it………………Honestly, I had doubts if I was going to be able to take the photos, do the collages and write the script for each piece this season, and post these sneak peeks….It really is a huge amount of work……..but I kept hearing Jac say to me “keep up your routine, keep up your routine, keep busy and work, work work.” When I think of her saying this to me my eyes well up, but here I am persevering and I keep going, going going………………………..just for my Jac………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

……………………….I hope you have found some things that you like from this first show………..It’s all in Honor and Dedicated to my Angel………………….enjoy……….much Love…………………..Louis

The MFA Boston has a gold necklace with double cone beads like these that was made in Panama c.500AD. It’s really beautiful and I’m wondering if you’ve seen it and maybe were inspired by it.

Ruth….no I haven’t seen it! I used to shop in a fabulous store in lower SOHO. He owner has retired and closed the store. It was very eclectic. He had Gold beads like the cone shapes . He only had 3 and they were different lengths. They were a fortune. I was told Madonna bought the longest one. Jac and I loved this store and bought many different types of things things that are mostly in our family room.

I find it fascinating that from very early times and in many places around the world, certain people have been inspired to create beautiful things that we still can appreciate even now.

Those are my favorite things and I always look to antiquities for inspiration Jac and I had almost identical taste. We always loved the same things. That’s why it was so much fun collecting things together. I can imagine two people living together with opposite tastes.

I agree. Here’s a link to one of the pieces at the MFA –

There’s a longer one on display but they’re not showing it on their website. I took a pic of it on my cell phone though I don’t know how to send that to you.

Louis, I love that you put together two of my favorites – the swing silhouette and moss crepe. I will be getting every color, but whenever I wear the black, I will think of Jac. I want to add my sympathy, love and support to that of the wonderful notes others have posted here. Such a life together as you had is a miracle – and when I see your photos of Jac, I can see you and she were very wise and built up a treasure load of wonderful memories. I will be joining all the Linea Ladies in watching you tonight and know we are here for you the best we are able to from such long distances.

Hi. Anonymous is me. Don’t know why it didn’t recognize my user name when I posted. Deb

Wow Louis! I was amazed to see yet another top that I must have. Problem is I like all the colors! Gotta figure out if the ginger would look good on me. For the next month or so, I’m going to have to cut back on my donations to the cocker spaniel rescues that I try to support. Seems my free money goes to help cockers and to buy more Linea. My main splurges. 🙂

Jac would be proud that you are trying to keep up the routine and keep work work working. She would be proud of this collection too. You’ve outdone yourself. Thank you for persevering and bringing us all the sneak peeks of all these lovely items.
