In today’s mail I received a letter from Boston Mass General Hospital with a list of all the women who have made donations in Jac’s name. I can’t help but think Jac wanted me to receive this today. What a wonderful Valentine’s Day present you all have given to us………….much, much Love…………….Louis

    Dearest Louis,

I’ve been silent, and sadly remiss, in not communicating earlier with you on the so sad loss of our dear Jac. It is not because of callousness or indifference, but because of how close to home this has been.

For the past six months, I have been dealing with a cancer diagnosis for my DH, difficult choices, and major surgery. But we had a blessed outcome– thanks to the wonderful care at the world renowned John Hopkins University Hospital. Then, just as we were so grateful, on a followup visit and CAT scan, our wonderful oncology surgeon noticed a totally unrelated tumor in a different area of the body. After many more tests, hospital visits, etc., we are facing another surgery but it appears the outcome should be 70 percent positive. So we are awaiting yet another surgery date at Hopkins.

We will be sending our donation to Mass General, in Jac’s honor, and praying for you as you cope with the grief and pain of your loss. As I well know now, from our experience, every day you have with the one you love is precious and never to be forgotten. HUGS to the girls, who I am sure are providing much comfort to you.— Blinddogs (Nancy S._

    Louis,

There is so much cancer and we have all been touched by the suffering it causes. I have often thought how very special oncology medical personnel are. Especially pediatric oncologists. My experience has been that they not only excel in their profession, but most of them are so uplifting to their patients. It is a privilege to support their work.

Louis, it was a privilege to contribute in Jac’s name and to try and help others.

Years ago my mother was put in a study when there was nothing else to be done for her. I think she was grateful to be able to perhaps help someone else in the future as she had been blessed herself….almost 14 years after being Dx at age 50.
    Fondest regards,
    Elaine
