“UPDATE”

Hello everyone…….Yesterday was a beautiful Spring Day…..in the low 70’s on the Ct. shore. Today is the total opposite. Cold, windy, and the sea looks angry. Heavy rains are coming. So, for my update. I have posted everything that was shipped for the month of April, but unfortunately that doesn’t mean that all of the pieces will make the show, and that is the case. I got my script for the 4/19 QVC1 show. I was working feverishly to get the order for samples and shoes in before the dead line. I have to order the clothes that go with the “scripted” items. For instance if we are selling the peasant shirt, which BTW is the first item in the show, I have to order all of the bottoms and shoes I want the models to wear. For all QVC1 shows I will always do this, but going forward for QVC2 shows I will have the stylist “style” the shows and put the looks together. They do it for almost everyone else……..I digress……..When I received the script the embroidered stripe shirt, the V-neck tunic and pant, and the maxi dress were not scripted, which means they are being held for a future show…….sorry…..I can’t wait to get the scripts to start posting my sneak peeks or I will never get my work done…..so I post them before the scripts arrive. It’s not to tease you….I do it for an economy of time. I asked the buyer if it were possible to post the items for pre-sale, but she doesn’t think the photos have been taken, because only scripted items get photographed. There are hundreds in a day. Some of the items I am showing in the show so you will be able to see them like the maxi dress will be with the new nugget necklace. I know you are disappointed….I was too, but these decisions are out of my control. I know you will enjoy the shows anyway…………….much Love………………Louis

Louis…… it was wonderful to watch you a few hours ago. It’s 1:24 am in Salinas CA on Wed 4/18 and your show came on at 7;00 pm yesterday. I am amazed you were able to get a design ambassador… not only is she smart and attractive but her voice is pleasant and she doesn’t talk as fast as the younger hosts. So hopefully Jennifer will be a lot of help to you. I love the nude pink color in the gauze crepe blouse …. I love everything!! I’m 73 supposedly but I feel so happy when I watch you and listen to how you make your clothes. On the necklines you were talking about not using binding, but I couldn’t catch the word fir the seeing technique to have the finished seams around the neck. What are the words? I’ve pulled out my sewing machine and am trying to sew again, long ago I used only Vogue patterns. I’m fascinated with textiles and designing. I’m sensitive to color. So you are a joy.
You looked wonderful, strong and happy, in your quiet way. Jac is always in my thoughts.
Two more shows coming up today and tomorrow!

Dear Elizabeth. I was saying how the neckline was faced with self fabric and not piped. They are both acceptable ways of finishing a neckline or armhole, but a facing is considered more difficult to make.they both prevent stretching.

      1. Elizabeth Gabber

Thank you Louis. This makes good sense. Elizabeth

  2. Lacylass

Just more to look forward to Louis! :)))
Please don’t let this worrry you. Appreciate the heads up!

You can’t control what is scripted, and we understand that because that’s just the way business works. But you definitely can keep teasing us in a good way with those photos and sneak previews because that doesn’t bother me in the least. In this situation it only gives me more reason to keep watching for those goodies to appear. And the weather is wacky even in Tennessee which had nearly eighty degrees two to three days ago and tonight is near freezing! Whatever happened to spring around here? Our poor flowering trees and shrubs are shivering today! Spring will come and stay…someday.

  4. Jackie

I’ll live. Whatever appears in the show will be fun to watch- and buy! . I very much appreciate the sneak peeks no matter when items come up for sale. It helps me plan garment and jewelry purchases.

    1. Jackie

Forgot to mention. 15 inches of snow fell in northern Wisconsin yesterday and today we are getting hit again with more! I can wait for the prune color sleeveless dress a little longer. I hope Connecticut does not get this storm. Gee, they even cancelled church!

  5. Melissa

Thanks for letting us know. As the others said, not a big deal. I appreciate the sneak peeks so I can plan accordingly.

I received my safari shirts in the three new colors – beautiful! The lilac mist is very similar to my wedding dress, maybe a tad darker. Looking forward to your upcoming shows, especially the denim dress and peasant shirts and the jewelry. Safe travels!

  6. Judi

Please don’t think for a moment that we’re disappointed with you!

It was gorgeous yesterday, today it’s back to gloom and doom. Your wonderful designs will be waiting, and hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Your sneak peeks are fantastic, I can get an accurate photo instead of what is on the Q website. The QVC2 stylist would be wise to soak up the information you would willingly provide.

Have a safe trip, avoid the snow and ice.

  7. queendiva

    No worries, Louis.
Delaying some of the items might actually help my budget, since Tax day is Tuesday.
In addition, We have only had a day or two of weather that would allow for wearing your spring fashions. The parka was still in order this Sunday morning-Ugh!

  8. Joanne

    Louis
I so appreciate your sneak peeks. I am disappointed that I cannot buy the dusk, Ivory and black tunic and pants with the gauze at the bottom of both. But since I live in Chicago, I am still wearing my puffer winter coat and my winter clothes, I can wait until the May show for my new tunics and pants. You are so kind to keep us so well informed as to the schedule. As you are aware we Linea ladies are organized and plan our purchases. By keeping us so well informed, you add to our enjoyment of your beautiful clothing. Thank you Louis.

  9. designista

Thank you for the update so we aren’t complaining all over the forums. Yes, it is disappointing, but we won’t be worried that we missed something. As for the Q, that’s a lousy way to do business.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear designista…..there really isn’t any guarantee that the items delivered for April will be presented in April. I just sneak peek them so I don’t get backlogged.

  10. Carol

Your sneak peeks give us plenty of styling ideas, except for shoes, of course which you don’t sell anyway. If the stylists are smart, they’d look at your website, too. I’m fully expecting some strange combos of shoes, purses and random pops of color, but if a donkey modelled your clothes, I’d still buy them. If you think YOU have no control over the Q, neither do their customers! Most of us wouldn’t get away with treating customers the way they do, but your clothes and jewelry keep me shopping there.

So rest assured, we are NEVER disappointed by you, Louis. Just incredibly lucky to have you in our lives. I don’t think a day goes by that I’m not sporting a Linea garment. Today, the white wing collar shirt and the hammered hoop earrings in bronze, with your navy trench in case someone forces me to go outside!

    Love, love,love you!

  11. Chris/Jazzmom

This Spring has been absolutely crazy weather wise! The Soup Nazi has a meme picture online that says, “ No Spring for you! Come back 1 month.”

As long as we can see the maxis on the TV, we can get an idea of how they look. We are patient.

Have a safe trip to PA, try to get out before the rain & wind expected to the area on Monday.

    1. louis dell'olio

Since my show is at 10pm I’m going down on Tues to avoid the rain

  12. WNYGAL/APRIL

Louis, we’re all grownups here, so I’m sure no one is going to be TOO disappointed if there’s some unexpected snafu attached to having to wait another month for almost anything from you. After all the years of complaining about how the Q didn’t give you enough air time, well, I think we’re all counting our blessings, or should be. We’re grateful you now have Jennifer, that you have the new extra shows on Q2, all the sneak peaks you so generously provide us that are in no WAY a “tease”, but a pure pleasure and help in planning. Just so you know, the first thing I do in the am, after getting my mug of tea, sitting down at the computer & hitting my email, is to go to your blog. It’s always such a bright spot in my day to find anything new or to read your messages, & it gives me a little breather before going forward into whatever awaits me, which right now is 1/2″ of ice covering everything after sun & 60 degrees. We just have to be here now. Peace, April

    1. louis dell'olio

Oh April…that sounds terrible. I HATE ICE….that’s how I broke my shoulder a few years ago. Poor Jac had to do everything for me, and put up with my complaining grouchy self!

  13. Somersault

Louis, we are aware that a lot is beyond your control on QVC regarding the items shipped and received. Believe me, we understand that it is beyond your control and appreciate all of you sneak peeks prior to air date. I do not understand why there are two QVC channels and at times I find it confusing but that’s me and I think it makes it more difficult for you. I know it is a tremendous amount of work for you to do your own styling for each show but the results you bring are superior to any of the other presentations done by the stylist on QVC. They do not have your eye nor your taste. It is what sets you off as well. I do not mean to deman the stylist at QVC but I am so spoiled by you. As long as you will continue with styling on QVC1, I will be happy and hopefully most of your shows will continue on QVC1. Since they have increased your showings and added to work schedule, anything that will ease some of the burdens placed upon you are welcome. Your sketches and sneak previews give us your styling sense which we have all come to appreciate. Thank you for everything and as always, looking sooooooo forward to your shows this week! xoxoxo Cat

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Cat. I appreciate your message. As for the stylists, they style the shows with what is avail to them, which is no where near what I have. I will certainly suggest things to them, but it is their responsibility for the shows they do.

  14. Sylvia Pickich

We had storms last night, in South Mississippi, and a tornado went from behind us down our street! We didn’t have any damage, but one of our neighbors had a LOT of damage. My husband is down there this morning, helping him clean up. I will wait for the clothes that I want. The only clothes I’m buying are from you also. I have already ordered the Paradise Pink and Island Blue Linea Leisure tunics. The dress, the v necked tunic and pant are on my list…whenever they get here. If you could let us know what new items are scripted, it would help me plan purchases… I had not planned to buy jewelry this time, but now, I might be able to…. 😉

  15. Seka

Louis, It’s mid April – and yesterday we had freezing rain for most of the day! Today, the temperature is slightly above freezing so it’s just raining!
Whenever the Items I would like to purchase (which includes the Maxi Dress) get posted on the Q – I will order them!
    Safe travels to the Q.

  16. Beryl

Guess I have to wait patiently for the maxi dresses. They’re perfect for coastal NC climate.Looking forward to the shows.

  17. Sammy from TX

Dear Louis, I wish the warm weather of yesterday was still here. I live close to Bridgeport so I get all the same weather as you I believe. Thank you for all that you do. I always love the way the models are dressed when you do it. You have the best eye for pieces that look great together. At times I watch TSVs from other designers and I never feel inspired to buy any piece of clothing, and I don’t. You are the only designer I buy from and I have acquired a whole closet of professional clothes in just two years of your pieces. I work in the clinic and I never worry about what to wear. I just get up and I always have something fantastic to wear. I am sorry that the scripts are out of your control. You always do the best with what you have. Have a safe trip to Pennsylvania. Sincerely, Samantha

  18. Ruth

Dear Louis, Thank you for taking the time to give us all this information. You are so thoughtful. We wish you all the best for your journey and experience with QVC this trip. Blessings to you, Ruth
