“SEPTEMBER SNEAK PEEK # 8”

Sneak Peek #7 is the reorder, A217986, cardigan. I think the success of this cardigan is the shape. The ribbing through the mid section, though not tight ribbing, still gives the wearer a gentle shape, and even when only the first two top buttons  are closed and the rest are left open [as in the picture on the left of the all Tarragon outfit]…..there is still an illusion of shape. The wide ribbed band at the bottom of the sleeve echos the ribs on the body of the sweater. These ribs create a slight blouse effect which gives the cardigan a feminine attitude. The colors are……BLACK…….STEEL GREY…..and the new…….TARRAGON  & PERSIMMON. These are great sweaters to wear with prints, or monotone ……or color blocked. I especially love the Persimmon with Olive or the color of the season AUBERGINE. which this season they are calling Merlot, Burgundy and OXBLOOD. Of course, we all know you had it last season! This sweater works for any life style….whether that is super casual…….or more dressed up…….. It also is light enough to layer under jackets, which many cardigans are not. They look especially good under the tweed jackets and the steel gray or black look great under the black/grey plaid from the last show…..they also look great over the feather print blouse or a simple white cotton T shirt…….the options are limitless! I think this cardigan has easily moved  in status from a “Fashion” sweater to an “ESSENTIAL”, and I know that you will get years of enjoyment  wearing this particular cardigan…………Enjoy……..much Love…..Louis

Yes, indeed, thank you for all the lovely items you brought to us and thank you for the tip on not hanging knitted items. I didn’t know that (not having had any knitted items before) but I have cleaned out a space in my dresser for the Whisper Knit pants to lie folded, so all is well!

yes, I will have to get a larger space in the armoire and I seriously would have hung the WK pants or folded them on a hanger, yikes! Huge thank you.

If you hang them long enough they will definitely stretch…..while some who are tall might think that’s a good thing….they won’t think so when the crotch stretches too!

Louis, I loved your show today. Wow! Luckily, I able to be home to watch it. Things were selling out so quickly… and QVC.com was running incredibly slow. So I’m wait-listed for three items, but managed to get five others before they sold out. Thank you for mentioning this website. Now I’ll know to preview your items before your October show so that I’m more prepared. Silly me, I thought I could watch the presentation first! Now I know I can’t wait that long.

Also, thank you for the demonstration with the old knit skirt and what happens when you hang them up (becomes misshapen). That got through to me. Love the tips you give us.

I just discovered your Linea line a couple months ago, and your clothes are already my favorites. Love the colors. Love the fabrics. Love the classic elegance of your designs. Great!

This color combination is perfection. You can almost SEE the persimmon IN the aubergine. Yummy, yummy Louis.
Of course, the VOGUE thing to do now–they’re saying–is to paint your nails grey? when you wear these brights. 🙂
I don’t have this sweater but OMG it is beautiful in all colors?

  4. Chris/Jazzmom

Louis, its A217983 that is the reorder. 🙂

Any chance of the aubergine skirt in our future or is it vintage Linea

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

It’s sooooo vintage, that the hem is all uneven from hanging, but I love the color combination so much I’m showing it anyway. That’s a lesson…..never, never hang knits!

Hi Louis: The tarragon ensemble is perfectly matched – my tarragon blouse shipped yesterday. The WK pants look generous, what size is the mannequin wearing? I think a 1X should be OK on me looking at the picture. I remember Kate (QVC) wearing the tarragon on the last show and they looked as generous as the picture. What a PERFECT match. Thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The mannequin isn’t wearing them! I get put pants on this form so I just have them held up with an elastic around the waist. That is the reason I don’t take separate pictures of the pants. If you are usually a 1x or on the larger side of an XL than the 1x will be fine….better a little loose than tight.

      1. Toni Fisher

Thank you Louis, I like baggy and loose, since I’m on the other side of 1X, I’ll go with the 2X and be happy with the baggy. I just love that color. thank you for taking time out of your hectic day. Toni

Predict lots of sell outs so, thinking ahead, may I begin now to lobby for NAVY and WINTER WHITE next year? I wore the ones offered last year to death (in CA this sweater under a blazer was ideal for winter–and this is a great one under a blazer because is no extra bulk around the waist) and can’t wait to try the new colors. I love the way you put colors together such as the persimmon and aubergine combo which reminds me of one of those masterpiece oil paintings of gorgeous fruits. Genius!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

HI…..Since you own this you know it is very light. weight. The winter white ill be a little see through, which I think could look ver pretty……..and yes Aubergine and persimmon is very much like those wonderful still life painting…very renaissance too.

I know you are busy and so please do not feel you must answer but I was wondering which photo (all beautiful!) best captures the persimmon color? I am looking forward to tomorrow (although my husband and the credit card are not!) Thank you so much for all you do to make our shopping experience so enjoyable!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I would say the picture in the upper right….the close up with the beret. The others are either too light or too dark…….somewhere in between.

        Thanks so much!

Just a note to say thank you for all the time and effort you put into the sneak peeks and answering questions. I spent a couple of hours yesterday going through my beloved fall/winter clothes (all Linea!), trying on last month’s offerings again and planning for tomorrow’s shows. I love having the time to plan, and the anticipation of seeing how you style the pieces adds so much to the enjoyment of the shows. Thanks for enhancing so many lives through your talent and kindness.
