“THE OLIVE BERBER NECKLACE & EARRING SET”

……………………….OLIVE is a color I keep going back to time after time. I think it’s the perfect neutral AND accent color. I’m a sucker for anything that has SAFARI or MILITARY colors, and all olive shades are perfect……….The SAND of the DESERT, and the PALMS of an OASIS are so natural and pleasing together, as in the crinkle georgette safari shirt and lace pant…..Add a little spice like the SANGRIA CREPE GAUZE TUNIC with the straw and olive crepe gauze pieces, and the Olive Necklace pulls it all together. The CRINKLE GEORGETTE SHIRT with the DILL Lace pant takes the pant from being dressy to something much more casual….add the necklace and you are ready for a dinner in some Moroccan hideaway…….Again, this is a wonderful necklace for prints. They balance well together…Sometimes you want the accessories to meld, and sometimes you want them to stand out…..It’s all an eye game……………………enjoy……………………..much Love…………………………Louis

Well a Berber olive will be mine soon! Loved hearing about the adventure you and Jac had in Morocco. I thought I owned an authentic Berber necklace purchased years ago but it sounds like it may not be but that is ok as it still gives me pleasure when it is worn. I’m so pleased that I will be able to add your Berber necklace as another piece I enjoy. Thanks for another wonderful design surprise.

    Louis,

Can you give us a better idea of how large in diameter the solid resin beads are? Are they quarter sized or thumbnail sized?

Thanks & what a fascinating story about the Berber jewelry.

Dear Chris, they are chunky beads. The largest are approx. 1 inch in diameter and 1/2 inch thick. They are very much like my Berber necklace. They make a strong presence.

Thanks Louis, it gives us a better idea of the proportions. This is too much for me, but those who can carry this off enjoy!

Ah loving the olive. I love safari colors too! Been on an Olive phase lately. Are these beads translucent and opaque like the amber ones? Or all opaque?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Pratt, only the amber is a combination of translucent and opaque, however, the shape of the beads, both chiseled and smooth, are the same on all colors. If you take another look at my photo of the real Berber jewelry most is opaque, and all of the jewelry I bought was opaque

Thank you for such a quick response 😊 translucent or not, I love the necklace. I might get the honey too. A few years ago I was on a hunt for a big beaded necklace in beautiful colors. I had seen someone on the cruise wearing such a necklace and fell in love. She looked so well dressed, well- traveled. I looked up on eBay and Etsy but nothing came close. I settled for some wooden beaded necklace in multi colors but that looked more modern and too symmetric. I m thrilled to see you offer this piece. I hadn’t heard of berber people until your blog post, thanks for the story and the pictures. They all look beautiful! I hope to visit Morocco someday.
