Louis, I have been a long time quiet (on your blog, yet I have left multiple reviews on QVC,) but extremely devoted fan of your art. I feel I am your muse when I wear your creations (which is often!) I feel beautiful, sophisticated and confident when I’m dressed in your designs plus I get nothing but compliments on both your clothing and jewelry. You are a true master! My husband, my daughters, friends and coworkers know that I’m a Linea Lady as I promote you often and DVR every show (even when I’m watching!) And your unabashed willingness to share with your Linea Ladies your loves, heartaches, memories….well everything makes you so approachable and appreciated for your inspirations.

I’m eagerly anticipating your QVC2 Big Deal and plan on getting the black, espresso and the olive. Would the olive gauze crepe tunic tank (A302566) match the pants? (I’d wear it with my new pink shantung jacket) What about the dill tops you introduced recently, would they work? Also, are there any espresso tops that will be introduced? Both are great for my coloring (hazel eyes and a natural blond since I was 12 …lol) I know you created the crepe gauze t shirt colors to compliment the Big Deal, but like Maria, I don’t like to show my upper arms but I’m working on it!

I’m looking forward to your upcoming shows (as I’m sure everyone is who reads your blog is!) and will probably spend too much (I end up buying more than I budgeted) but you are worth it and so am I 🙂

OK Rudewarr….pencils ready. There are many things coming and that already exist that work with the Olive BD pant….The olive of the pant is very dark, so nothing matches exactly but all that I will mention blend and work wonderfully. The dill tank A349650 that went to the lace jacket looks terrific. It’s lighter [that’s a good thing] but blends. I happen to love the Dill lace jacket with the BD pant….not for everyone who doesn’t like to mix but for me it’s wonderful, new and fresh, very unexpected but not crazy. There is also a new Dill shirt jacket in a drappy light fabric that matches the dill tank and both pieces look great will the pant. Two new necklaces coming , one is called the Pineapple Pendant and the other is the swirl, look great together and fabulous with the dill. There are lots of accessory choices to work with the Dill, the Carnival, the Venice necklace set etc. The Gauze Crepe tunic is darker than the dill, but not as dark as the pant…..still works great….The right necklaces like the Pompeii in the pink will bring the pieces together……As for espresso tops…..have you been sneaking around my studio?????Also coming in July a new MOSS CREPE top, V neck, 3/4 sleeve, longer length, straight bottom with side slits, A347494. Someone was just asking for this! Here it comes. The color is called Dk Chocolate. It too is lighter than the pant, but it looks great together. I actually prefer when things aren’t so matchy. It looks less like a coordinate you bought together, and more like something you creatively put together yourself…..Again, the Blue Pompeii will pull the top and bottom together beautifully. I think this Chocolate top is going to make many ladies happy. Every recent top I’ve done in the brown family has flown out. It’s a pretty warm brown, not ashy…….and if this isn’t enough there is a cotton/modal v-neck tee, 3/4 sleeve with a slight shape and curved bottom in Black, Turq and India pink [unfortunately not nearly as bright as the shantung], that all work back to the new BD pant…..so there are quite a variety of shapes and fabrications that will work…..

First I have to say, ironically, I was wearing the blue Pompeii necklace today (with the sand guaze tunic and topper with skinny blue jeans) and received compliments galore on both my outfit and specifically the necklace as I was out shopping (although it’s terrible weather here in NYC, I felt FABULOUS!)

Second, I’m so excited to hear about the dark chocolate top! I’ll be trolling QVC for when it’s posted (as I do with all of your pieces) Along with the dill shirt jacket. And the jewlery!!! I was never a big jewelry person before other than earrings and my wedding/engagement rings, now I have a cornucopia of your jewelry, I can’t get enough!

I appreciate your recommendations and will try them. Because of your pictures of the BD pants with the lime shantung jacket, I bought the lime today, (I already have the pink and the turquoise,) a color I never buy for myself as normally that color (or similar like chartreuse) doesn’t look good on me- my skin tone “absorbs” it and I look “green” lol, but I saw Kate wear it and we’re similar in skin tone and she looked amazing in it!

I’m looking forward to all your new goodies and can’t wait for them!!!

Louis, would you put the azure shantung with the olive pants? I love all the colors in these. I used to have a pair of white chiffon palazzo pants back in the day. I’d love something like that again. They were so versatile–just like your new lace pants.

It’s Doris Day all day on TCM today. Her film wardrobes were amazing, and her figure! Despite her girl next door image, she wore some really body conscious clothing. Eye-popping!

Enjoy what’s left of your weekend. I can’t wait to order the Big Deal pants.

Yes Carol, They work well together. Sorry I didn’t have it in mt sneak peek!…..I watched the Yankees and tonight the Tony awards so I will miss Doris Day day. I watched the Yankee game, but I can stream any of her movies whenever I want. I wan’t a great fan of her early musicals. I really liked her later movies with Rock Hudson, David Niven and James Garner. Her Hitchcock movie and Midnight Lace were good too. Yes, she had an amazing figure and her clothes in those movies were always fabulous. Wa she in a movie with Cary Grant???………….Hope you enjoy the Big Deal pant….It really is so much prettier in person. It’s light as a feather.

      1. Carol

Yes, That Touch of Mink was with Cary Grant. Fun film! I agree that her later musical comedies were her best work.

      2. Elaine

        Hi Louis,
Doris Day wore Norman Norell in That a Touch of Mink….so glamorous!
If only I could have one of his gowns!
        See you soon, Elaine

        1. Louis

I loved working for Mr. Norell

          1. Elaine

            I always remember that Louis.
I have the book that Jeffrey Banks published last year. He gave a presentation at FIT.
Can’t think about Mr. Norell without thinking of you.

            1. Louis

I will never forget getting off the elevator on the 10th floor of 550 7th Ave for the first time. My first sensory experience I had was the Norell perfume that was in the air. It just smelled expensive. It immediately became my favorite perfume, and to this day it is still my favorite. Unfortunately, when Revlon bought it they made it cheaper, and the sent was lost forever…..However, I still have one bottle that’s never been opened. I’m sure it went bad, but the ingredients were so expensive you never know.
