“THE LODEN CREPE GAUZE BLAZER”

………………….Summer blazers………….Winter blazers……………Transition blazers…..are they all one in the same? I would think if you live in a warm climate the answer would be an immediate NO……..Being a BLAZER MAN, and in a period of fashion where blazers have never been stronger,  I felt compelled to come up with the perfect Transition Blazer, A366195…………..The fabric would be of primary consideration….then the construction……….The blazer above I believe to be the perfect combination……….The fabric: GAUZE CREPE…..The construction: tailored where it needs to be un-constructed for weight and comfort.  The great majority of you know the Gauze Crepe fabric well….Due to working with the fabric for so many styles I knew it sewed well, and the duster showed me it could be tailored…..but could it be tailored into a blazer? I think the photos prove that yes it can. This is a three button jacket, but I prefer the top or the top two buttons buttoned only….For those of you with hip issues the top button will be enough giving you a cutaway bottom as the top photo in the right column….The BODY OF THE BLAZER IS LINED…..but not the sleeves. This keeps the jacket light and cool feeling…….You can even ROLL UP the sleeve like a shirt for a more casual look. There are shoulder yokes at the top, and two epaulettes for a military look. There are two patch pockets with buttoned flaps………There are shoulder pads to give the blazer a strong shoulder look, but they are SNAP OUT………The length of the size 4 blazer is approx. 28 inches from HPS……..For my Southern Ladies I did this blazer with you in mind so you may want to give it serious consideration…..For the Ladies in the rest of the country this is, as they say, a no brainer………The pant is the NEW BOOT CUT PANT in black, A366190……So many of you have asked me to please do another style pant in the lighter Ponte knit of the A265615 slim pant…here it is……Unfortunately it will not be avail in petites this go round. If it is as successful as the  Boot cut pant in the Super Ponte was, and it gets reordered then perhaps they will order it in a petite length…That is exactly what happened with the Super Ponte pant…..If you like your suits all in one fabric then there are still Gauze Crepe bottoms in Black avail. in different silhouettes………The NERO TREVI NECKLACE and EARRING were the perfect accent to give the suit the perfect punch……………………………..enjoy………………………much Love…………………………….Louis

    Louis,

You know other people might also ask about the sizing on the new blazer so your answer helps. Glad they allowed you to bring back new colors in the tights and trousers. Having coordinating tights really completes the outfits. Also, glad that the Super Ponte’ pants have been reordered. I’m planning my attack for this collection and don’t want any sizing errors; LOL!

Dawn….when the blazer is posted you should compare the shoulder, bust and cross back measurements to a blazer you own and like. Just remember the gauze crepe is a softer fabric…..so it won’t be quite as structured as say the trench coat fabric blazer

    Good Morning Louis!

A couple questions and a comment.

    1) For sizing reference what should we compare this blazer to?

    2) I have the olive boho from many years ago but did you make 2 different shades of the olive boho skirt?

    3) Are you bringing Loden color tights?

I don’t get the buyers. There are many petite and tall women and the buyers only choose to buy the regular inseam. Am I understanding correctly that there is only going to be 1 style in the Ponte’ pants this season; bootcut. I am of average height but the petite work well for me that I don’t have to hem and can wear the pants pretty much out of the package.

Thanks for answering my questions and listening to my gripe. I know you go out of your way to please your customers but your hands are tied.

Dear Dawn…..since I have never done a blazer in crepe gauze there really is no comparison, however we always fit on the same model so if you own any of my blazers you should order the same size. I have only done one olive boho skirt. Yes, I will be bringing Loden tights, and I believe trouser socks. This was planned so long ago I don’t remember…LOL…..The buyers buy according to the budget thy are given. There wasn’t enough $$$$ to buy two lengths. There is the new light weight Ponte pant and the reorder Super Ponte pant that does com in petite, and the faux suede……That’s 3 styles

    Hi Louis!

I have several pieces in the gauze crepe (IE: A287615, A302597, Toppers, cardigans and tunic shells) that will pair with this new unstructured Loden blazer. I bet the Walnut floral skirt would play nicely with the Loden blazer too!. Can’t wait to see the additional sneek peek(s) of the Camo skirt. Looks like you’re setting us up for a great season. Also looking forward to the Scarlet blazer if it’s still coming… Is it still coming?

Again, Thanks for all you do!

Now, THAT’S a blazer! Love it, love it, love it. I was hoping for something like this in the faux suede this season, but this fills the bill.

Wowza! Seriously fantastic, and I’m in for at least two colors.

Are you bringing us any slim leg pants this season, Louis? I do love slim ankle pants with a heel and a blazer.

  8. Seka

Louis! Absolutely LOVE the Loden Blazer! And the new Boot Cut Pant in the lighter Ponte Knit – and the Camo Skirt – and the Chain Gang Collection – Fabulous!

What is the length of the Camo Skirt, please.

    Seka.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Seka the skirt is approx. 25 inches depending where you place the waist band

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Seka…..the skirt is approx. 25 inches depending where you place the elastic waist band. I will also have my Linea Body back for Fall so there will be tights to match!
