Okay….suggestions please. The Inset Lace top, A351465 and the Shantung jacket, A351115, are strong contenders for being reordered……..What colors would you like to see in each?….Thank you, Louis

For spring, the jacket in copper, pewter and pink. For fall, cobalt, true red and emerald. Your work is exquisite, much like you and Jac.

  2. Jeanne

I just love the three present colors in the Shantung jackets but would love to see a light bright lemon yellow, perfectly pink, or purple as these three new colors work with many other items.

  3. Bebe

Dare I say it again Louis? Here is hoping the shantung jacket will come back in the SAPPHIRE color in the spring! I have my outfits planned out already. Here is hoping! Love your designs forever!

  4. Debra T1

    Dear Louis,

I appreciate your input regarding my busty-self and being uncomfortable wearing brights on top. Like all your ladies, I trust and respect your opinion. I am a column dresser, so I will consider the black column with the (brights) shantung jacket.

I do wear light colors on top. For example, as I stated in my color suggestions, I wear the pink and antique rose lace insert tops (with pink and beige crops), and they are just gorgeous!

All this gets me to thinking about the ladies that have suggested alabaster for the shantung jacket. I would love that too. I know you said that “they” don’t choose shantung ankle pants, but I think that the shantung jacket in alabaster with a matching alabaster ankle pant would be killer, AND I’d wear it in a heartbeat!

In closing, your story about Antonella wearing the ombre top and white pants is well-taken. She looked stunning in that outfit! Gotta love Antonella! In fact, I have the ombre top in peacock, and I’m gonnna wear that this afternoon with white pants as I head out to do Labor Day food shopping (while I think about that bright shantung jacket). After all, I am wearing an India pink nail/toe polish named “Girl Without Limits”!

    Thanks so much kind sir!

P.S. I’m making your Sangria for my family on Sunday! Thanks for posting the recipe. I’m sure we are going to love it!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

WARNING….the Sangria may go quickly!!! They think it’s a fruit punch, but it has a kick! LOL Enjoy

  5. Terri Harse

Louis, definitely your Linea navy for either or both of the styles! Many thanks!

  6. Ramona Pansegrau

Dear louis – my first time commenting – but I wanted you to know that I wear nearly exclusively your wonderful designs. I always get compliments and always feel well dressed no matter The occasion. In the shantung, I would love the copper previously suggested as well as alabaster to match so many things I already have. By the way, i’m Dying to get the chain gang collection – multiple necklaces to layer and make a belt!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Ramona, love your name, you are very welcome here! Join our merry family!! Now that you have broken the ice don’t be a stranger.

  7. louise jazz

    LOVE READING EVERYONE SUGGESTIONS SUPER
BUT AS U SAID, MAY TO JUNE, SO BRIGHT COLORS AND AS ALL WILL AGREE, I AM SURE, OUR SUGGESTIONS ARE GREAT, BUT THE BUYERS “YANKING” THE CORD AND STATING TOO DARK, EVEN SCARIER.U DEAL WITH THEM, I KNOW WE ALL WILL APPRECIATE YOUR CHOICE FOR US. WE THANK YOU.
BETTER THAN BUYERS SAYING”NO GO” RIGHT? THANKS FOR LISTENING!

  8. Debra T1

    Hi Louis,

Lace insert top: Celadon, and light butter yellow
Shantung jacket: Deep saturated emerald green (deeper/bluer than malachite), and a dark brown

Comments: The lace top is so stunning! I have the perfectly pink and antique rose. I’m a seamstress, and I’ve never seen anything like them!
I didn’t purchase the shantung jacket because I don’t wear bright colors on top. I’m very busty, and although I have the attitude to carry almost anything, I do not feel comfortable with bright colors in tops. Oh, how I wanted that jacket though. Hopefully, I will be able to wear one of the new colors and get one next spring.

Thank you so much for being you, and being here for us!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Debra…..even though you are large on top there is always a way to skin the cat [terrible expression!} If you wore a black tank and bottom…..a column of black and you wore the jacket open with a long necklace the column of black will do wonders. You shouldn’t limit yourself to darker colors. You really should give it a try….On the last show I did with Antonella, she came to me for help putting herself together. She wasn’t sold on what the stylist picked for her. She had to wear the ombre top as the host pick so with her new blond color hair I gave her the “blue” which has a lot of turquoise and aqua…..and WHITE pants! She said she NEVER WEARS WHITE PANTS! I said why and she said because they make her look fat. I told her with the tunic she would not look fat and to give them a try. I said you can always wear navy bottoms or jeans. She appeared on set with the white bottoms and looked fabulous. EVERYONE thought she looked fabulous, and most of all she thought she looked fabulous. I have now seen her on air wearing white pants after my show……You may surprise yourself and LOVE the bright top worn open over black.

  9. Enjay

Louis, please, please do the lace top in black! French lingerie – sexy, classic, and chic!

And I would love to see the jacket in a sophisticated grey.

  10. Jackie

Lace top: I will be looking for colors that will look good with navy or black pants. Smokey grayish blue, charcoal, navy, taupe, and some pop of color like fuschia, cranberry.

  11. Yoko

Shantung jacket New colors. This is a wonderful jacket. Hope for these colors
    1. Black
    2. Sapphire
    3. Port
    4. Silver

Thank you for your beautiful designs.

  12. JBCinSD

Shantung jacket: lipstick red and/or emerald for holiday events; silver; a regal purple, not too dark, with a tank to match

  13. louise jazz

    OKAY suspense is killing me
Just colors of trench coats and plaid items u have coming down the pike
U r too much with the sneak peaks. Lol
U r a treasure. By the way ur garden was beautiful, color everywhere. Again, thanks
    You are our TREASURE

  14. Carolyn

Shantung: deep royal blue, emerald, black .. Lace Inset: true white (for summer whites), a gray with depth (not flat gray). Thanks for asking.

  15. Suellen

Louis, the shantung takes dye so beautifully, I agree with your idea of showcasing gorgeous color — your bright Linea Red (!), Wisteria/Iris/Periwinkle, Emerald/Kelly/Grass greens, Aqua/Azure/Sky blues.

Thanks for including us in your creative process!

  16. Sherry Breneman

Inset Lace Top: Navy, or Turquoise to match the Shantung Jacket.

Shantung Jacket: Ivory, Celadon, Plum, or Sapphire to match Sapphire Whisper Knit.

  17. Rhoda Toulouse

Louis, I would love to see the shantung jacket in navy and silver. I think those colors would look great for spring and summer events! I always love the move to navy in the spring and the switch to silver jewelry in the summer. Thanks for asking!😉

  18. julie

I love seeing all the color choice suggestions! I don’t have either top but would consider the shantung if it was a good color for me. I love shades of green but you already did the Lime & it was too bright for me. Looks like you are leaning towards the India Pink, a chocolate shade (YES, love the brown family!)… & need a fun uplifting color. The Magenta suggestion sounds good, as long as it’s not too pink since you already have the India Pink. And I’m not really a purple girl, but the right shade like a dark orchid/plum can almost be a neutral. I also like the Mustard Gold suggestion, & the Copper would be gorgeous but it’s not a spring color.

    Good luck deciding Louis!!

  19. Pamela

Hi Louis. May I add my suggestions as well …in shantung, I sound like a broken record but, alabaster, alabaster, alabaster. Caramel, copper, silver too. Inset lace colors I think your hibiscus, white, all things espresso or chocolate seemed to go this spring and summer. Thanks for the chance! Pamela in the stormy south.

  20. Nancy

Hi Louis. I would love the inset top in navy and in black. The shantung jacket in black, deep blue, and white would be wonderful. I trust your judgment. I bought all three jackets and three of the inset tops you made us!

  21. Cela

I suggested Ivory for the jacket because I love it with black and ivory
stripes and thought it might be a chance for you to bring more spectator-
looking tops we could also wear with a second color jacket like yellow,
turquoise or kelly green ? Just me musing.😀

  22. Cela

    Inset Lace top:
    Black
Scarlet red. Probably not Spring colors but I’d love this top to go with the scarlet pants.

    Shantung Jacket:
    Sapphire
    Black
    Ivory
    Espresso
    Orange

  23. Pratt

Just realized it’s for spring .. but still my choices of violet, emerald and magenta still hold good. If lighter tones, how about gold? Fun uplifting color – red?

  24. designista

Lace top: Grey-Blue Lavender color like heather, not pink; White
    Shantang: Red-Orange; Sapphire

  25. Rudewarr

    Hello from London Louis!!!

I couldn’t pass up putting my two cents in even though I’m across the pond. I LOVE the idea of the copper color for the Shantung jacket that the other Linea Ladies suggested which got me thinking why not the colors of metals that you offer in all of your jewelry pieces? Gold, Silver, Copper, Chocolate, Black, Gunmetal? (Although I do like the navy too as it would look stunning with an all white outfit underneath) They are all neutral enough to compliment your coordinates while your jewelry pieces will be the cherry on top!

In regards to the lace inset pieces, as it will be introduced in late spring, the first thought that comes to mind are all your beautiful pictures of your beloved garden and all the colors that bloom throughout the spring and summer seasons. Although I don’t recall seeing wisteria in your pictures, I do think that is a lovely color that satisfies the “purple” ladies and connotes a beautiful delicacy that will compliment the lace. A light buttercup yellow, and an off white hydrangea come to mind as well.

It was dreadfully hot here today, but my new wood cut pants kept me cool and comfortable as we did our sightseeing today. As always thank you for your beautiful work and truly appreciate your requests for suggestions!

    All the best,
    Kate

  26. Melissa W

    Hi Louis,

I know I already responded, but to answer your question, my choices would remain the same no matter when they are offered. These were already offered in springy/summery colors, imo. I wouldn’t mind a medium shade of purple like iris (I’m not big on pastels), but I think deeper tones like smokey grey, chocolate and blackberry/aubergine would look really pretty against the lace. I’m one that picked up your olive and port safari shirts (already had grey) and wear them summer and fall.

    But you can’t please everyone!

Thanks for asking our input. 😊

  27. Shay

Since the fabric gleams, I think the color should too. So I would like to vote for winter white, copper, ruby, or sapphire.

  28. Karen in WI

I was thinking that if you asked us in spring that you may get different colors as we are now looking forward to fall and it is hard to think of spring! For the lace inset you did do some lighter colors for the debut, so maybe a few darker and a few lighter for the 2nd round? I would definitely buy an indigo or sapphire type color. A lavender in the hue that you did the boho skirt would be nice.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Karen we have to work at least 6 months a head. I’m afraid if I present such dark colors to my buyers for May they will say no. If you recall I did wine, Dk olive and smoke in the the boho, and safari shirt for May and everyone complained that they were fall colors not spring and summer. The buyers came right out and said to me they didn’t do well because the colors were too dark, and they are still avail on clearance. Do you really want to see such dark colors in May, and you probably won’t get it [with their deliveries] until June!?I think chocolate would be pretty for the lace insert blouse, but black might be too strong a contrast with the beige lace. Chocolate would also make a good color for for the Shantung jacket. You have to realize they will probably buy the India Pink again and two new colors. They won’t want them both to be dark…like navy and chocolate. One should be a fun uplifting color.

  29. Judy M

Hi Louis well I must add to the request as well I would love to see both in navy especially for May Thanks for asking PS whatever you pick will be great

  30. Melanie

Hi Louis, I’m in the copper/coffee crowd. The right shade of forest green with a shimmer. Red, a la the beautiful lambskin jacket that you did. Orange is difficult to wear for some women. How about a soft pink. Thx for asking. Melanie

  31. Carol

I like pastels for the lace inset–like an orchid or latte

For the shantung jacket, sapphire, espresso, merlot, blackberry. Lime is pretty, but too acid for me. Any acid color would be a no go for me.

Loved your show yesterday. I hesitated on the blazer and lost out, but lesson learned about main channel shows. Everything sells faster!

We just returned home from a long weekend on Catalina, and the tropical striped kimono was perfect for an evening out. My husband commented on what a great resort wear wardrobe I have. Having travelled two three resort destinations so far this year, this is a good thing, too. Thank you, Louis. Wherever I go, a little Louis goes with me.

  32. Lc Jazz

Thanks for terrific shows. A351465 my daughters love it, probably in darker color, but lt blue. Too. I have ur black and white lace. Love them, too. A35115, COMPLIMENTS GALORE.
Jacket is terrific. Love all ur colors but suggestions are, red, copper, azure blue or lt blue like AMALFI COAST, LOL. Oh, bright burnt orange, bright green, ie Kelly green
A navy and red. May, here we come! Your thoughtfulness appreciated and what colors u choose will be superb, for sure.
    Thanks

  33. Judy

For the jacket- Red, Navy, Black, Mustard Gold

For the top- Red, Navy, Denim Blue, Mustard Gold

I see many have requested shades of purple or violet and I’m shocked. Those colors are always the slowest to sell. Those shades seem to be always left. I guess you either have to like it or pass. Seems most of us pass on those colors.

Seems like some people are just posting colors they can think of. I only post colors I would buy! I would buy one in each of these colors!

  34. Dawn

    Hi Louis!

Great show. I would like to see you bring more of the Indigo that you brought in the lace & gauze pieces. Navy too!

    Dawn

  35. Lynne

Would love to see espresso brown, gold, silver, black, azure, emerald, deep cranberry, and eggplant/aubergine.

  36. Sheesh

Some kind of Purple or Violet for the Shantung jacket—like the color of the Purple Sequined short dress you did back in 2012!

    Sheila

  37. Sarah

    Louis
I like Michelle would purchase the darker colors
and like Bebe either one in sapphire.
I wore my sapphire pants earlier today with the tangerine and white stripe shirt.
Both so bright and cheery. I find that I purchase items when I can
get them from you and mix the dark with the lights. Like espresso moss crepe top I’ve been wearing with the white jeans now.
    sarah

  38. Bebe

Oh Louis, I would love the shantung jacket in SAPPHIRE! I love that color so much. Would be stunning! Thank you.
    Bebe

  39. Michelle

    Louis,

For me, a navy and/or black Shantung jacket would be the perfect topper to any one of your nautical Spring/Summer looks. It would also be a great solution for all of those places (offices, restaurants, houses of worship, etc.) that are freezing in the summer because the air conditioning is set at 50 degrees.

Some of these other colors would work for me as great transitional pieces going into fall, right up to winter. So, I would definitely purchase these darker colors.

Thanks, as always, for all you do for us!

    Michelle

  40. Goldie76

For the Shantung Jacket, I also had Copper as a color suggestion. I must have lopped it off when I copied and pasted later.

  41. Goldie76

Shantung Jacket Colors: Wine/Merlot; Forest Green; Mahogany Brown

Thank you, Louis, for asking for suggestions.

Although this will be a May delivery, I’d still like these colors.

  42. Michelle

Louis, I have all three colors of the Shantung jacket. I love them all for different reasons.

To me, the India Pink and the Turquoise are elegant “foundation” colors. They take you everywhere, match with just above everything and don’t take you (well, most of us) too far outside our comfort zone. I would love to add to this set of foundation colors a Navy, Black, Ivory and/or Red.

The Lime is the rebel in the group. It’s edgy, unexpected and perfect for those days when you want to take a walk on the wild side…or just want to really get noticed wherever you go! It would be wonderful to have another “rebel” color added to the group. I think that a burnished Copper, as many of the Linea ladies suggested, might fit the bill. Or you could just surprise us with an amazing color that we haven’t even considered.

Loved the shows yesterday. I can’t wait for all of my goodies to arrive. Fingers crossed that nothing goes to backorder status.

    Michelle

  43. Chris/Jazzmom

Wonderful program, I’ll be on the lookout for the cranberry sweater & that necklace/earrings & bracelet that were paired with it.

I own the perfectly pink & sage color in the inset top. I agree that the darker colors would look great such as dark grey, blackberry/port .

Shantung jacket — sapphire, forest green or espresso.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

This is for May delivery….does everyone want such dark colors?????

  44. Diana

    Hi Louis,
I can only speak to the Shantung jacket and I would like to see Navy, Red, Royal Purple, Silvery Grey and Burnished Copper. Like the other poster, I trust your eye.
Enjoyed the show yesterday, I’m watching it again this morning with my coffee and can’t wait to get my gauze crepe blazers!
    Love, Diana

  45. Jane J.

Hi Louis, I’d love to see Copper and Magenta in the shantung jacket. Thanks for asking!

  46. Caroline

I have yet to purchase either item.
For A351465, the current color palate did not work for me. I would need to see navy or evergreen to be interested.
For A351115, I thought about other colors but think that ivory would be very useful.

  47. Grace

Navy for sure and a purple shade (lavender, iris, periwinkle) or the sapphire for the jacket. For the lace top, a latte/taupe, celadon, indigo. Thank you, as always, for asking our opinions!

  48. Beryl

Would love the shantung jacket in black, navy, or espresso

  49. Patricia in Chicago

G’morning, for lace insert soft tones in a non-bluish grey/greige, celadon, Orchid, cinnamon. The jacket in copper, orange, marigold, purple.

  50. Chris S.

I’d love that jacket in black or maybe a silvery grey.

    Thanks

  51. Beth

Good morning, I really enjoyed yesterday’s show. Port is one of my favorite Linea colors or would it be too dark of a color for the Shantung fabric? Navy and black are other colors that come to mind for the Shantung. I think these colors would be great for winter time.

  52. Elaine

    Good morning Louis,
A deep purple is the first color that comes to mind. I have so many of your pieces in purple, lavender and iris.
Enjoyed your shows yesterday and the weather this week is getting me in the mood for Fall shopping…as thought I needed an excuse.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness and for asking our suggestions.
    Elaine

  53. Sallie

Might sound mundane, but I think both in black could make them “classics”.

  54. April

Lace inset top – brown (coffee with cream brown)
    Shantung jacket – bright olive

It WAS a wonderful show, and I look forward to receiving my loden jacket.

  55. Pratt

That’s great news! Shantung jacket colors – emerald, dark violet, magenta and red. 😀😀

  56. Sarah

    Louis
I like the idea of copper/rust, gold, silver, ivory, red , black or navy for shantung jacket.
For the lace: blackberry/port, all ivory, scarlet red and black
glad you made it home safely
    Sarah

  57. Sylvia

I agree with the suggestion of blackberry, (or aubergine?) for the lace insert top…
Maybe Dark Forest Green, or Navy for the jacket?
I wore the India pink jacket to a Sports Hall of Fame banquet Sunday. So many people came up to me and told me that they LOVED the jacket and the color! I know you will choose the best colors for us. Thanks for asking for our input.

  58. Karen in WI

Good morning, Louis! So nice to see you on the show and the little chat on facebook with Jennifer! Love the cranberry color coming for fall!

I like Melissa’s suggestion of blackberry and then maybe an admiral blue or sapphire color? Or navy? I just love this top and have in in rose and am planning on adding that beautiful cloud blue.

  59. Somersault

Louis, great show, yesterday! I would love the Shantung in a deep, burnished Copper! Truthfully, any color you chose, would make me happy! I trust your eye. I am in love with this jacket/top! Thanks so much! oxoxoxox Cat

  60. Melissa W

Great show Louis! Can’t wait to get the blazers.

I have the inset lace top in antique rose and sage. Love!!!

The first colors that spring to mind for the lace inset top are some deeper colors like a warm smokey grey (not as dark as charcoal) and an eggplant or blackberry color.
