These blouses are lovely and so retro glamorous. I buy a lot of Linea. As far as sizing – do you suggest I purchase my normal Linea blouse size or more my smaller whisper knit size in these tops. Thank you.

Dear Joanne……that’s a difficult question. My samples are xxs and they are roomy, so depending on how you like your clothes to fit, you may want to consider your WK size. I hate giving out size suggestions without seeing the person. Are you big on top, broad shoulders etc? The bottom is roomy so that won’t be a problem either way.

    Oh Louis,

This top does harken back to the golden age of movies! I am a young 46 (47 next month) but my parents, who were actors until they had me and had to become responsible…lol, instilled in me the love of classic movies. My husband too has a love of the classics. Just last weekend we watched His Girl Friday. We also watched The Lady Eve with Barbara Stanwick (great costumes by Edith Head) and our favorite of all time: The Thin Man… we named our dog Asta in honor of our love for the movie series. Myrna Loy was the epitome of Hollywood glamour. We try to introduce these classics to our teenage daughters, some with success but with the competition of today’s genres and social media, at times it can be frustrating for them not to appreciate these amazing classics.

After I run my errands today, I think my husband and I will sit back and watch an oldie but goodie.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

Kate….a young 46? 46 IS YOUNG!!!!!Keep trying with your daughters eventually they will start to appreciate these wonderful movies…..you just have to find the “one” that clicks with them….Jac could watch “The Birds” and “Laura” over and over. Very different, but both terrific movies.

Oops typo – the retro has an elegance that is seldom seen in THIS era …

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Carolyn, I can see so many actresses from the past wearing a top like this…..Norma Shearer in “The Woman” or Rosalind Russell in “His Girl Friday” Or Gypsy, Joan Crawford in “Mildred Pierce” Lana Turner, Jean Tierney in “Laura”….I could go on and on. They use to have great costume departments with incredible designers like Adrian, Walter Plunkett, Edith Head etc. That doesn’t exist today unless it’s a period film with a huge budget. Those days will never come back like so much of everything. I’m just happy I lived to see it if only through movies. Most people today wouldn’t even know what I’m talking about, and frankly I have no idea what they are talking about.

Thanks. Another great video and after watching the versatility I’ll be adding the bisque and black to my collection. The retro has an elegance that is seldom seen in the era. I’m not that old but watch movies of that era and enjoy the clothing as much or more than the movie itself.

Great video, Louis. I took your advice and ordered the Caramel ponte pants, along with the Caramel blazer… which is going to make for a fantastic suit. The wrap neck top will be the icing on the cake! I also ordered the Forest Green blazer today … not sure if you did FG pants in petites.

Really lovely, sophisticated and versatile top. Just when I think I have pondered enough and made my purchases decisions for the month, you tempt with more wonderful! The pictures and videos really, really help and are much appreciated. Looking forward to the shows this week! Hugs to you!

Just look at it this way Karen….the fall/winter season is coming to a close, and 80% of Nov. is Holiday dressing.

Love, Love, Love! Thank you for another spectacular LLL video!!

Another great video giving us all your insights and the visuals of your stunning creations! Your beautiful Fall collection with all the colors and many different interchangeable pieces for different types of styling could not be found anywhere else at any price—and certainly not the quality and fit you are making possible to us! They also all seem to be “my style” so my closet has undergone a makeover. Thank you and know how much you and you creations are appreciated.

Thank you for the video! Every single color for me too. Love this fabric as it wears beautifully and is excellent for travel. This made my weekend!!

  10. Marta

I love the story about the design. I will be buying these lovely tops as Christmas presents for both my niece and myself along with the compass necklaces. Your designs are so beautiful and are timeless. Thank you.

Delightful! Louis at his best! I will take your advice to not size up or become a baggy mess. This is an absolutely stunning top and I will be purchasing all colors. My daughter will get them for Christmas as well. Thank you Mr. Wonderful!

  12. Carol

Love this. I’m definitely getting caramel, and am also drooling over the scarlet. Would you wear the caramel under the desert color combo of the striped kimono jacket? Do you think those are compatible styles? With a ponte slim leg pant in black? With black jewelry–like the J360761 Egyptian necklace set?

I will be shedding a little tear for the end of the caramel story, but maybe I’ll get lucky and espresso or milk chocolate will get a starring role next Fall. A girl can hope.

Another fabulous video!!! It just reiterates that I need every color! Cannot wait until it’s posted!

Already purchased the bisque art modern necklace and I’m seriously considering getting the plum one too!

    Naughty bench for me! Lol

    Have a wonderful weekend!
