“COLOR BLOCK SWEATER KNITS”

……………………I have always loved designing knit sweaters. Going to Florence four times a year to develop the collection for each season was such a hardship….NOT!…..Pushing the limits on what can be achieved, always using different knitting machines, was a challenge……I was a whole new specialized education. The people who owned these knitting mills were wonderful. Many of these companies were very small, but very willing to work on my designs. For the most part their factories and production were small. Giovanna Ciampini, the woman I worked with in Florence, was wonderful. We meet in 1970, and we have been friends ever since. Thank goodness for e-mails….we are always in contact.  Stark bold sweaters inspired by classics are always modern and timeless and current. The DEEP V-neck long sleeve sweater tucked into the mini skirt with the side racing strips are two examples…..The ENR knit skirt even had belt loops……The color block dress inspired by ships signal flags is another…….These two pages look like they could be out of Fashion Mags today………except today the pages aren’t as GOOD!….certainly not as wearable…….LOL

Was just in my closet with that blazer yesterday, thinking why oh WHY couldn’t we have gotten the TCF pants in navy to match that…red too. Oh well, should be thankful for what we have right?

I do have every other navy iteration except crops,…ie, pebble crepe originals, several Linea leisure, slim ankle pull on, super ponte, original ponte, cotton sateen crops and more. Haha

Dear Cat….even though these designs aren’t avail today you can still incorporate the “look” into your wardrobe today. The cleanliness of navy and white and gold always looks modern and clean. I’m sure you have a pair of white or navy bottoms, pant or skirt. With the contrast top in white or navy you achieve the “color block”. With the matching top and bottom and touches of white and gold you can achieve the same look.

Louis your designs are breathtaking. They just don’t design like this anymore. I guess fashion today has gone the way of music. It’s all cheap without any real staying power. You’re one of a kind. I’ve always sensed the immense amount of respect you have for women. Your designs are sexy & classic at the same time, I have no clue what we your Linea ladies are going to do do without you!! It’s wonderful that you’re continuing to interact with us.Stay well.

Dear Evelyn….even though these clothes aren’t avail….you can still get ideas of how to pull off the “look” with what you own. I feel very strongly about the reorder blazer in NAVY. It, for me is a must have, and the basis for so many outfits.
