Louis, I have purchased one of every whiper knit top available – that is 6 styles, 6 colors each. They are so comfortable, so versatile, so well designed, so basic, yet so chic. I have other whisper knits as well, and it is my favorite fabric. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I still have some of the pieces from your first season on QVC – was it 2000? And they are as stylish now as they were then, in particular a jungle print jacket in olive and hot pink linen-like fabric with an olive green skirt.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Joyce…..36 sweaters!!!??? God bless your heart!…………..2000 was the year….that’s how I can easily remember how many years I’ve been at the Q. I remember very well the jungle print blazer…..It had the greens, aqua, pinks and orchid. I think the fabric was a linen/rayon blend. That’s when I was able to do real silk crepe de chine tops and sell them for $39-$40………..today they would be close to $100.

      1. Seka

        Hello Louis,

I would pay $100 for a Linea silk crepe de chine top!

    Hi, Louis:
I enjoyed your show today. I always love the way you style the models and all the advice you give, it’s just priceless. I have placed the new feather jersey pants and tops on wait list. Can you please give us a sneak peek of the top with the pants? Since there is no photos it would be nice to see YOUR photos and how you style this duo. Many thanks.

PS… As always, Jac looked smashing as usual but she was breathtaking in the all white.

Yes, and I will say the same of you & Jac! Your beautiful home on Long Island Sound & freedon to travel….. When ONE works hard, ONE can play hard! We are blessed with Good Health, a Loving Family & wonderful long-time friendships. We own the plane, our dear friends own the 48′ Globe yatch that we sail together. More fun when (4) people share the load. I’m chief navigator(most of time) & my Mr. Handsome is our good luck charm. When he’s on board, we ALL catch fish – guaranteed! Planes & boats are money pits!, but we’ll enjoy as long as we can!

We’ve scuba drived in Bonaire & dipped our toes into Venezuela; now I want to see Anguilla – you were there during Thanksgiving? – is that a quiet time to go?

Anguilla is alway a quiet place. The only time I wouldn’t go is Christmas. Nov. is a great time to go

  4. Amy (aka Lacylass)

SO EXCITING!! I just about lost it though when I saw your post Louis saying they were up!!! Panic set in but all is good … all orders placed but heaven knows how long they will last! THANK you for the heads up! omG

Thank the Lord for your wisdom and expertise in doing your own photographs of your designs because QVC absolutely butchered any resemblance to the vibrant colors and great fit of your whisper knits for sure! (Hate to see what else they manage to destroy via their photos.) Now off to decide what colors and styles to get. The charge card will be smoking but I know these are timeless items I can wear with proper care for years! Thank you!

  6. Carol

Well, if there’s a shortage of these sweaters, they will be found in my closet! ChaChing! Thanks, Louis. We love our WK’s.

Thank you for posting the whisper knits were available on Q’s website.
I just scared the daylights out of my son… home on spring break. (Poor guy was resting after driving home from baseball practice in a blizzard…!?) I sat down for a late lunch, went to your blog and screamed.
I ordered the nectarine and aqua as sweater sets. I really had a hard time picking just 2 colors. I’m leaving the item numbers on the bulletin board in my studio, just in case anyone needs an idea for Mother’s Day. I’m really excited to see your show tomorrow. Thanks for creating such beautiful designs!

  8. Jean

I was going to order my WK at the same time as items from tomorrow’s show… until I saw that some of the WK sizes are showing Wait List status already! Crazy. I’m not taking a chance, ordering now!

  9. Diamondscribe

Louis, thank you so much for your photos. Have you seen the QVC’s nectarine image? Doesn’t look remotely like your nectarine. I ordered a dozen pieces just now (all colors…not just the nectarine, LOL). Can’t order more until I see where I am after tomorrow’s show. I hope they ordered enough that we can still buy more later. But I did get all of the sleeveless options. So great for Florida. Thank you so much for some longer lengths! Deborah

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

It’s best just to look at my pictures and order from those…….did you see the Kimono picture!! OMG.

      1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

You are right Louis. One wonders who sets up these shots? The kimono picture at QVC says “Busty women, do NOT purchase this sweater!” I don’t see how they could have posted a worse picture for plus size women. Of course I am ignoring it. Of paramount importance to me are the mocknecks – in 4 colors, closely followed by the two cardigans, with a v-neck or 2 rounding out the list. For now. I am not leaving a color on the table that I might regret not having though.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I just told my buyer about the shot and used your line. There isn’t much to be done after the shot has been posted. I did get them to change the scoop neck cap sleeve dress with the belt…..they had the buckle off to the side and it made the mannequin look drunk.

          1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

            🙂

      2. Kate

As bad as the kimono image is they managed to top that with the baggy, oversized scoop neck top on the LIVE model. They went to all the trouble and expense of a photo shoot but no one could be bothered to call in the correct size?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I noticed that too. I think the same people who shoot the computers shoot the apparel…..wait until you see the jewelry shots…..they are usually OK with watches….but not as good as me…LOL

      3. Cela

Don’t worry Louis, we know your work. Just think they arrived EARLY and I got in, I got in, I got in. I STILL can’t BELIEVE IT! So happy!

Got every thing I wanted and then some. Now I’ve got to think about where my new closet is going to go FOR ONLY WHISPER KNITS and jeans. 🙂

lOOKING FORWARD TO THE AWESOMELY FABULOUS IKAT! CIAO.

P.S. Thank you for the help choosing my new sandals and bags. I decided on a caramel leather bag and matching thongs from Vince C. and a Vanilla tote and bone and gold flat sandals. I’m good to go for the SUMMER–love getting finished early! Thanks agin.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cela, Vince C. Does pretty and some very sexy things. the designer of the clothing line used to work for me!

          1. Cela

NO!!!!!Really? I think I CAN see a similarity. The richness of gold embellishment, the saturation of color, skillful match of pattern and print, the love of expensive leather…Honestly, the shoes match as tho you might have designed them. The caramel is the perfect back ground to your prints! I believe you.
The fashion community is still small and close knit isn’t it? And his wife works along side him as Jac does you.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Actually I don’t think the design community is that close knit anymore. First they used to be mostly in the garment center, but know they are spread out all over the city. I don’t know much about him

      4. Diamondscribe

“OMG” is an understatement for that kimono photo. I posted on the Q community pages about those photos. There is no excuse for such poor work – both from the stylist who dressed the mannequin and the photographer who took the shot that way. I work in internet marketing and I wouldn’t let that go live on any of my sites. We are so grateful for the diligent work you do in providing us such detailed photos and information. I only ordered thirteen of the WK. I will have to wait to order more later. I fell for the unstructured jacket and couldn’t decide on which color…so I ordered all four! That meant I had to go back and whittle down my WK shopping list a bit, LOL. But, that jacket is just soooooo fine for Florida career wear.

  10. Kate

Someone on the Q’s forum was wondering if the sleeveless v-neck and the classic button cardigan can be worn as a sweater set. I can’t imagine why not, but want to weigh in?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes, of course you can. It would look better if the cardigan were left open.

One of my favorite Etta James’ songs – “At Last”!

    Yipeeeeee. . . . . Grazie Mille, Louis.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

One of my favorites too…….I used it for the finale in one of my show at AK……also love “Jump into the Fire”…..not sure if that’s the actual name of the song..

“Jump into the Fire” Nilsson Schmilsson – A Rock Classic!

Your AK Shows must have been outrageously FUN!

That album is always on-board when we set sail out of Seward for a weekend of fishin’ ‘n shrimpin’ on beautiful Prince William Sound! We like to rock-out all day, then mellow with the sounds of Nina Simone, Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong to name a few.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

You and your husband sound like you have a wonderful life!

          1. Pamela in Anchorage

see reply above – it’s out of order ?
