“OPRAH”

……………………….When Oprah was living in Chicago, and doing her show, one of her assistants used to buy her clothes at Neiman Marcus. Little did I know that many of the things she wore were mine. I was at work and didn’t watch the show so I didn’t really know. Then one day my PR girl, Connie, got a call saying Oprah was going to be in NYC and would love to come up to the show room. That’s how our friendship started. The outfit and earrings she’s wearing was from a resort collection with African inspirations. She wore this for a TV Guide cover…..I don’t know the date, but I can only assume it was early in her TV talk show career….She sent me this signed photo after the shoot……..I was on Oprah’s show three times over the years…..Like everything else….people come in and out of our life, and we lost touch, but I will always fondly remember the good times and laughs we had together. Oprah has a great laugh!

Louis-I, like Somersault, read your blog daily with my morning coffee. It is my non-caloric treat! Although you make me hungry with those dessert descriptions.
I was an Anne Klein fan and wore a lot of it when I was in my twenties and thirties when you were there. Since then I have become a collector of Linea. My credit card has recently melted due to buying everything I can get my hands on that I didn’t already own-every piece in every color in multiple sizes I have also been purchasing pieces from the past I failed to buy. No designer’s clothes or jewelry make me feel or look better than yours. My DH loves the way I look in Linea. I really do not know how you were able to produce that Linea quality and elegance for the price. It looks much more expensive than it costs. Please keep your blog coming with your stories of your talented and fascinating life! And I miss seeing you on the Q!

Oops! “desert” -not “dessert”. I should have a no posting comments rule until I finish my coffee. Lol.

Good Morning, Louis! I want you to know that I start my morning with you and my cup of coffee. It’s a great way to start my day. I love your stories and the way in which you write. It’s as if we were having a conversation. I love all the history regarding your designs whether for QVC or Anne Klein. I love how you describe the process and all that is involved. I feel as if I am taking a Master Class. Your trip to Africa was a gift because you took us along with you. For me, it is the closest I will ever get and no jet lag as well. I hope you continue with this blog. I am surprised that the comments have decreased especially by those who posted continually even though I shouldn’t be. I enjoy shopping in my closet, now and am amazed at how beautiful and timeless my Linea collection is. I am on a diet to lose some weight so that the fit will be perfect once again after COVID. Love the Oprah story. I have to see if I can find the clips of you on her show, if I do, I’ll send the link. Cat
