“A FRESH BLANKET OF WHITE SNOW”

……………………I had heard it might snow over night, but it’s always a wonderful surprise when I wake up, look out my bedroom window, and see a fresh blanket of white snow…..2 to 3 inches of snow is predicted, and I think we already have the 3 inches…..it’s still snowing lightly. A row of ducks came swimming by with their mantels of white snow on their backs…….I don’t recall ever seeing ducks with snow on their backs swimming by before?!…..Lou and I went on our regular weekend breakfast to the Sugar Bowl in Darien…..It was empty when we arrived except for one family with two infants. The children were very cute and very inquisitive as to who we were…..Soon the place was filled on their Sunday morning outings….snow….we’re used to it!…….On this Super Bowl Sunday we have snow on the east coast and LA will have 90 degree HEAT…..way too early for 90 degrees. I’ll take the pretty snowfall!

I’m an East Coast transplant and even though I’ve lived most of my life in California, I still long for the change in seasons I grew up with. I rejoice when we do finally get a rare cold, rainy day because I can make a big pot of soup and watch classic movies. Can’t really do that when it’s sunny and 85 degrees outside.

Wonderful photos of your latest snow….especially of the ducks coated with snow. I’ve never seen that either. I’m with you in taking snow rather than 90 deg heat. Thanks for sharing your pics. Enjoy your Sunday!
