“THE PALE TAUPE ANORAK”

shine2

I don’t know what happened to this post…it was supposed to come after the Charcoal Grey, but it disappeared?? So read the Charcoal Grey post FIRST…then come back to this one…….PALE TAUPE……perhaps not the best name for this Beautiful color………for me it has the look and beauty of an …………..ABALONE SHELL………….This color in this fabric were made for each other….perfection………KISMET……….. This color in another fabric with a matte finish, like a cotton, would be pretty, but it would be a different animal, and probably be called OYSTER…………..There are so many colors you can wear with this PALE TAUPE…from IVORY to BLACK and all the colors in between…..WALNUT, CHINO, NAVY, HEATHER and SOLID GREYS….on and on and on…..they would all be good options……Wear a neutral top under it like the TWIG or the NATURAL FLECKED TWEED TANK shown above…..or pop it with a color…from the pale PERFECTLY PINK to the HOT PINK…NECTARINE and AQUA….just pick your favorite color.. I have chosen TWIG as the color to show the jacket in the photos above….and you have many choices….starting with the TWIG WK TANK, avail now….the TWIG RAYON /SPAN TANK & SKIRT, or the TWIG COTTON/SPAN LEGGING all avail March 3rd. on my next show……Over a dress would be perfect!….Going on a trip?….Again, this would be the perfect jacket to take,….Why?, because it can be casual with jeans or leggings or have a dressier look over dress pants and or dress…for when you are going to a nice restaurant or theater…Yes, some women do dress for the theater!…………………This is the jacket that will get stares….will get compliment……. and most important…..LIFT YOUR SPIRITS!………………………………………………………………………………….

……………………………………………..enjoy…………………………………….much Love……………………..Louis

I’ve got this coming in both colors because it is beautiful and so appropriate for the warmer days when a light jacket is needed. I love that while it is different than anything I’ve had before it is super stylish and versatile. I’m ready for this kind of change. Now if we can just have an early spring!

Hi, Louis! Just a comment. My anorak in Charcoal is on its way and will go with me to Vienna this spring. A pet peeve of mine is people who don’t dress appropriately for the theater, concerts, or opera. IMO it’s just not respectful to the performers or for the occasion. We will be attending three operas, a subscription concert at the Musikverein, and a smaller one at Mozart’s Sala Terrena on this upcoming trip. We also attend many performances here with our Music Festival, Bach series, and several classical performances at our church. We ALWAYS dress appropriately, and see very few who don’t. IMO the Vienna Staatsoper and jeans shouldn’t be even uttered in the same breath! Bring on the smelling salts for me!

Does the Twig cotton/span legging go with the A251588 V-neck cotton/span tunic in khaki?…or would White leggings be a better choice? Thanks you for all your time and effort you take to answer our endless questions…it is sooo appreciated.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sherry….they are very different colors,…..white, black coffee bean. navy would all be better choices.

OK, just what I wanted to know…trying to figure out how many colors of the ankle leggings I will need/want to go with my various tops…thanks

So relieved you and Jac got home safely. For the life of me I could not understand why you didn’t just stay over for PM Style. The important thing is you made it SAFELY.

Can’t wait for Mar. 3, but I’ll be watching PMS.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cela…..we REALLY wanted to get home, and once we got out of PA. the roads were very good. The NJ Turnpike was so clean it looked like it hadn’t even snowed. NY and CT roads were good too.

      1. Cela

PA is that boring, huh? ;-D

You might remember that bronze metallic Bishop Sleeve jacket …I got mine on EBay so not sure when you did it. But the fabric is fabulous. Is this fabric similar to it? :). This one IS calling my name….LOUDLY! Ok, I’ve talked myself into it, upsizing because that’s how I like my tie jackets to be got more curves.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

They really are very different……the bronze metallic fabric was very unique and very special, so is this hammered fabric….unique.

Thank you for your reply. Looking forward to receiving this new one. I love the casual styling but it can be dressed up very easily because of this fabric! Very cool!!

    Hi, Louiis:
So glad you and Jac made it to and from QVC. I didn’t get to see any of your shows so I missed out on the pink Poet shirt again. I gather from the boards other ladies would like this color also. Will it be reordered this season?

As soon as I saw that the listing for the taupe anorak went up I ordered it. I just love the color and it is so versatile. This is just the little something I can use in GA. I stayed with my usual medium in your outerwear.

I cannot tell you how much use I have gotten from all three colors of toppers. They are perfect with everything and when I wear the colum of lapis or ruby, do I get the compliments from men and women. Thank you for such lovely things.

Be well and waiting impatiently for the vests!!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Fran it has to be a blue moon for QVC to reorder a style within the season. In my 14 years with them it has only happened once. With Chinese New Year vacations the factories will be busy producing the remainder of Spring 2014 and then immediately start Fall 2014 so there is no room in the production schedule to squeeze in another garment.

The anoraks are beyond stunning! I have the older white one and 2 of the “shiny” coats (a green and a dark taupe), however the charcoal gray is on the way to me.
Now that I’ve seen the pale taupe I’m in big trouble. Magnificent!
I’ve been adding to my Linea wardrobe as my version of retail therapy in this gloomy, icy, snowy, gray climate (complete with 2 power outages in a week).
Great shows, but I thought about the safety of you and Jac on the trip home. Thank goodness your’re back safe and sound.
    Stay warm 🙂

Sorry, the first one said it would not go through. Wish I could delete instead of taking up needless space.

I KNEW my Mocha Mist pearls would work with this champagne color! I’ll shovel a little at a time as soon as the SNOW comes a little at a time 🙁 But, it’s done for today, and I’m back to debating “taupe” versus “charcoal”. I’ve had pretty good results with Cabela’s water resistant spray. Not looking for a real warm jacket, have plenty of those, just something light to take the chill off, so this should be perfect, and I just LOVE the style. We did get out to dinner last night between snows; wore my Ruby WK’s, real rubies and gold, black skirt and boots, Ruby Topper, Black Posh Knit Muffler, and finished off with a pair of black kidskin gloves with ruby inserts along the finger edges and a little gold zipper at the wrist exposing an inner pleat of ruby leather … what a lucky find last year those gloves turned out to be 🙂 Stay safe and warm, and Happy Valentine’s Day to you, Jac and the girls.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

WOW your outfit sounds KNOCKOUT! Happy Valentines Day to you too!

Would you say it has a goldish tone to it? Would you say you could wear gold or silver accessorys? Sometimes I think taupe has a slight pink cast. I am glad you said I could wear my pink WK. I too, was praying for your safe trip. I thought of you all day.Thank you, loved your show! I am dying for that white vest 🙂

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

You could say it does, but You can wear either gold or silver with nit….the MOCHA MIST PEARLS or driftwood also look good.

I renamed this one “Champagne” as soon as I saw it; a lovely, sparkling glass of champagne 🙂 I’ve been so anxious for the sneak peeks to help me decide which color jacket to get … oh, well … never mind … love them both. Do you think we could spray these with a water repellant protection finish to add a little practicality to all this glamour? Also, how much warmth (or lack of warmth) does Jac think these provide? THANKS, and glad you’re home safe … I’ve taken over the shoveling since Walter was in the hospital, and I’m back at it this morning again; thank goodness for the help of neighbors! Stay safe.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Cathy…..Champagne is a good name too…….I have never used spray on products to repel water so I have no idea what effect, if any, it would have on the fabric…….Maybe, you could try it on the back of the under collar first, making sure to cover the rest of the jacket for protection? This is a spring jacket and was not made for cold weather…..that said, with the proper clothing under it, I would think you could wear it in colder but not freezing weather. It should act as a wind breaker and the elastic cuff will also protect from the wind…..but you should rely on the sweaters you wear for warmth more so than the jacket…….Watch out with that shoveling! A little at a time!!!
