“A HEADS UP”

I know many of you are always looking for the right coordinate pieces to go with things you may own or thinking of buying, so I thought I would give you “a heads up”. While I was working with my samples, planning for the shows ahead, I realized that the TWIG RAYON/SPAN TANK , A252353, and the TWIG RAYON/SPAN SKIRT, A252354, work perfectly with all of the colors in the LACE JACKET, A223652…..including the NEW IVORY to come. I thought you may want to know as I know there are many of you who own the jacket and I also know there are many waiting for the reorder to arrive…………………..enjoy……….much Love………………….Louis

I ordered the indigo and twig tank/skirt sets, assuming I would send one back. My dear hubby (bless him) said, “I don’t see why you would.” Dear man!! Taupes/browns are hit or miss with me, so I was very happy to see that “twig” is a pinky-sort of brown, not a mustard-y one. I grabbed my white denim jacket from last year and it look marvelous with both sets, but I especially liked the twig set with the white denim jacket. Already planning my Easter outfit around the navy set. So happy! Thanks again for everything!

Dear NMM, your hubby is a wise man. These are pieces that will never go out of style and you will reach for over and over, so why shouldn’t you have a dark and lighter color in each set?

      1. NMM

Of course he is wise! He married ME!! (ha ha ha!) He’s a keeper and appreciates good style and good value and a wife that doesn’t chase trends like a 15-year-old. That’s where you come in… 😉

Louis, that Lace Cardigan also goes great over the Hemp Feather Jersey Skirt and Tank!

Oh what a lovely way to coordinate those pieces. I’m certainly looking for the ivory one and the flecked tank too, if it’s reordered.

Was wondering Louis. In all those over the moon years of designing at AK, have you ever designed a knit dress (not the constructed, ponte knit, but Whisper Knit with that waist whittler technique you are so brilliant with)?

    Just wondering.

I did many many knit dresses for AK, some in Merino Wool, wool cashmere, cashmere, silk cashmere, cotton silk, cotton rayon and rayon…on and on…..20 years of knits.

Bet they were beyond gorgeous. One day I’m going to do a search on EBAY.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I have never seen any AK knits that I did on ebay…..for that matter I have rarely seen any clothes that I did on ebay

Well with THAT said, I guess I’ll have to request the first Whisper Sweater Dress from LINEA at QVC! Flared skirt, scoop neck and short sleeves, please. 🙂

If I may jump in, how about a WK dress with a skirt bottom like the WK pencil skirt (so flattering on many body types) and a top half like the WK sweater that went with the TSV jacket? It had the whittling waist which starts at the rib cage and it could end at the high hip giving it a corset shape. And the longer sleeves (to the elbow) would make it span the seasons. Just something to think about…I’d love to see your version. Oh, and why not add a belt that could be worn with it or not. I’d love to see you bring us some belts. I was drooling over the belt Jac was wearing with the new rayon blend skirt and tank. I think I remember that she’s not a big fan of belts but a lot of Linea ladies would love to see you offer them. In leather, too, please. I know, I’m shameless. But if you don’t ask, you won’t get.

Dear Julia….I would love to offer belts also, but I don’t think I would want to design belts in the price range that I would be confined to. The belt Jac was wearing was a vintage Anne Klein and would be about $400 today. You are better off looking on ebay. I just saw some fabulous belts from Ralph Lauren for $45. Ebay can be hit or miss but when it’s a hit there are great things. I usually search for specific belts like silver belts or gold belts or DESIGNER belts and see what comes up…..you just have to hunt, but at least you’re doing it from your own home.

I am working on one for fall….we’ll see if it gets selected or not.

What a terrific tip on the lace jacket! The twig is such a great color. I came online to write my reviews on the Q but always stop here first. I was just trying on the twig tank and skirt with the sand/peach tie-dye cardi (A223654) and tho it is tonal, liked it! The darkest shade of taupe in the sweater is just a bit lighter than the tank/skirt. So many looks with so much in my wardrobe I cannot say enough good things about all three colors in this group. Once when you talked about separates on air (I saw it on one of the videos), I had the ‘ah ha’ moment. It is clear you are the king. Thanks for continually thinking of ways to expand, contrast, and build the fabulous Linea Lady look.

I keep discovering new ways of combining the clothes myself….I’m pretty consistent in the colors I like and use so eventually they will go together.
