I had no idea that there are quakes occurring so often in Alaska…so glad you chimed in and are OK…never had the chance to go to Alaska, my Brother and SIL went on a Cruise years ago and they were so impressed by Nature and the surrounding beauty. Hope to visit some day.

I was in Anchorage on vacation last Sept. for a week and could not get use to the trembling and little quakes that occurred everyday. Pamela, what a beautiful place to live, visited Seward and Whittier.

Glad to hear all is well, BE SAFE!

    Dear Louis & Jac:

Yesterday’s quake off the Island of Sitkin in the Aleutian Chain was indeed a big one! Epicenter was right along the subduction zone of the Pacific Plate which can create a huge, long reaching tsunami. Current reports of No Injury & No Property Loss, however Infratructures such as roads, utilities, etc. are still undergoing evaluation. Our military maintains an early warning radar station on the Island of Shemya.

This quake was located approx. 1400 miles SW of Anchorage – so we didn’t feel it. All is well in the Last Frontier – Hope all is well with you both & you’re staying COOL in the midst current heatwave! I truly appreciated your best wishes (very sweet of you both to think of me).

We experience earthquakes around these parts on almost daily – only Mother Nature & GOD keeps the score card and knows what the future holds.

Glad to hear all is well. I had no idea Alaska was so active earthquake wise.
