“THE BRICK RED S/S WK SWEATER”

WK scarf9

………….Everyone loves those special pieces that make your wardrobes distinctive…….but…….there is nothing more important in your closet than the all important LAYERING pieces…….The “CORE” pieces in your wardrobe….the pieces you don’t think too much about, but the pieces you go to every day to complete your outfits….These are the pieces you buy in more than one color without thinking it’s extravagant…..In the photos above, I am offering to you an ENR WHISPER KNIT,  JEWEL NECK, SHORT SLEEVE sweater. The length is approx. 25 inches. I would say it’s an easy fit that follows the lines of the body without being tight……..I have done many sweaters similar to this, but none were exactly like this one…..none were in the ENR construction…..For me…..this is the perfect short sleeve top. The neckline has a lovely opening…..not too open, but far from a crew neck. I think this is just the perfect neckline…the perfect balance…………….The color above is the BRICK RED, and it will coordinate with all of the Brick Red pieces you may have purchased this past fall/winter season….such as the BRICK RED JACKET, A257280, [SOLD OUT], and BOOT SKIRT, A257285, which is still avail….. Above, I have the matching BRICK RED CARDIGAN, A259706 with the signature buttons. This makes a wonderful “SWEATER SET”. The WHISPER KNIT PANT in the deep HUNTER GREEN, A257385 for reg, and A257386 for petites is a wonderful alternative to black. To accent the sweaters I have chosen the J284037, multi GLASS and GOLD bead necklace in the GREEN. I know there are mixed reviews due to some breaking, but there was no question to its’ beauty or the quality of the beads, and the GREEN is the only color remaining with very few left. If anyone has any problem with this necklace at any time….my manufacturer will definitely fix anything that may happen to it. I bring this up because this happens to be one of my all time favorite necklaces. It’s CLASSY….Paired with the necklace…..the GREEN STONE BUTTON EARRING, J284037. In any good retail store this set would cost hundreds of dollars. There was a very similar necklace on ebay a while ago that I did for AK that was being offered at $350. The glass beads were the same!………….Brick red is a very “friendly” color, and a terrific accent color. It will work with many things in your closets. The most obvious would be a navy jacket and jeans….you can go from there………………enjoy…………………Happy New Year!……………..much Love…………..Louis

Do you have any thoughts on how to (if it’s even possible) to bring these traditionally “winter” colors into spring?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Hi Kate….I actually think it’s an easy transition.Wear the Brick Red with a navy blazer and white jeans or khaki pants….. Think of India, Morocco, and countries like this where these colors are used all the time. Mix in spice colors as accents and ethnic looking jewelry or beads. Then use lighter bottoms [straw, ivory, white, khaki and tan] or gauzy bottoms a la the boho skirt, cotton shorts always work with espadrilles……Amber, jade, woods both natural and painted…..more summer like jewelry will lift the feel of the colors….Prints and stripe woven scarves with these colors in them plus the addition of brighter and lighter colors like hot pink, lime, turq etc. It’s all about having the right accessories. I know you have the right bottoms, but how you accessorize is going to be the way to transition colors. There are very very few colors that can not be worn all year….Many times it’s a mind game, and being trained over and over that there are certain colors for certain seasons….like white….It’s always about how you put it together. I have a sneak peek this month that explains exactly this subject.

You’re a genius. Really. I’m copying and pasting this to my style file!

Yes, this man is a bona fide genius. We are graced to be in his company. As I always like to say, “Only in America.”

Will the turtle neck be available in brick red? It is a beautiful color.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Karen….there are no plans for that to happen as of now. I would love to do the TN in every color in the rainbow, but when I can only add one or two new it’s difficult.

    Dear Louis,

Thank you SO MUCH for making this sweater in the Brick Red to match the Cardigan sweater. I got the Cardigan, but am not a big fan of tanks, and am delighted to be able to add this sweater to make a nice twin set from it … a very luxurious and travel worth set … now I just need tickets to somewhere!

You are talking my language again. You have to be the United Nations, so to speak, to please your Linea Ladies.

    Looove!

I want to add that I submitted to the charms of the multi-colored torsade a week or two ago. Had the red and the green already, and they are among my all-time favorite necklaces of my lifetime. So far, so good with them. I actually did not think I would like the multi; of course I was wrong.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Goldi…so glad you got the multi. It reminds me and was inspired by the Cartier Tutti Frutti gem necklaces. There are wonderful pictures of Daisy Fellows wearing them. The multi literally goes with everything and even those colors that can sometime be hard to find just the right necklace for….like purple, magenta and fuchsia.

How enchanting. Now I love it even more! I honestly thought it was not going to be as pleasing as I found it to be once I received it. I worked my way from “doubtful” to being “wild about its rich beauty.” That is because I saw it in person. It is amazing the way things can bedazzle you in person when you thought they would be just so-so from looking at them online. You might ask why I reached out for a so-so necklace; it was because I always liked the way it looked with purple on the TV screen. I came for the purple and stayed for whole spectrum. And, as I wrote, I have always absolutely adored the red and green versions of this torsade. I have a weakness for them, but your colors bring the house down.
