Okay…I heard back from my manufacturer, and for me her word is the final word. I have been working with her for my entire time I’ve been with QVC, and I trust her implicitly. She said the fabrics were tested for tensile strength and passed both our tests and QVC’s required tests. Once the fabric gets accepted by both parties the fabric is sent from the fabric mill to the garment factory. She has again looked at her approved production garments, and pulled and tugged them as I did with no damage occurring. She believes this was a single garment, and who can say what happened on it’s way to the USA or in the warehouse. When thousands of garments reach the US and arrive at the warehouse they are randomly checked. This one garment not only got through, but ended up on lucky Brenda! We have no other explanation of why this should have happened, but as always with any garment that we ship….if you are unhappy with it…..we are unhappy, and for any reason, you should immediately return it. I sincerely hope that will not happen, and you will be delighted with your purchase!…………………………………..enjoy…………………..much Love……………………Louis

My two tops and skirt arrived in excellent condition. I inspected all three items. Not even a loose thread to be found. I don’t normally wear anything new without washing first but I couldn’t resist and wore the white top out to dinner last night. Received many compliments as you usually do when you wear any Louis Dell’Olio item.
White top arrived; beautiful!!No problems at all with the top and wonderfully packaged with tissue paper around the entire garment not just on the inside where the sleeves fold.
Can’t wait to wear it with white pants.

My white and black tops just arrived and they are PERFECT!! …and BEAUTIFUL!! I think the thought that a box cutter could have made a slit in the top one of a box seems plausible. It’s is super unfortunate that that one had to appear on TV since it is not representative at all of the quality garments and jewelry that you bring to us.

I have a top in my closet that I’ve had for probably 10 years that has the same mesh between the fabric layers. It is the most beautiful top, brown in color, zippered up the front jacket style, stretches and returns beautifully, figure flattering. With all that said, I just wanted to say to people who canceled their order, this top has been going strong all those years with no problems. Louis is right about the strength of a fabric with mesh layers.
Seems to me the only logical explanation is that whoever opened the box cut through the cardboard and into the bag containing the top. Either they knew the cut the fabric and were afraid to say so, or they didn’t. There is no other explanation for that kind of slice.
I have both the white and the flag blue coming on Monday… along with the skirt in Flag Blue. I love this and have no qualms about ordering this – and about QVC honoring its return policy if something did go wrong. Can’t wait until I receive this.
My black top will be here on Monday!

I tend to agree with you and your manufacturer. Since it was only on the left side, the first “slit” looks like it was cut upon opening the box. The 2 other tears are directly below the slit…it looks like something happened in the initial handling.
I’m planning to love this top; it’s unusual, breezy and great for our humidity.
I think you solved the Intrigue of the Braided Top (or Jac’s bread!).
