“THE FEATHER JERSEY COWL NECK TOP & OPEN FRONT CARDIGAN……..another LOOK”

Anguilla,June, 20131 shrug gauze5 shrug gauze6 shrug gauze4 shrug gauze2   ……………………………The FEATHER JERSEY COWL NECK TOP, A233957, I felt was worth “another LOOK”, because the execution of the draping and fit is done very well. Cowls, for those of you who have ever worn them know they can be very tricky. If the cowl has too much fabric it can be overwhelming. If there isn’t enough fabric you play all the time you are wearing it to get the drapes to lay properly. Some cowls are so deep they come to the waist…..only the tall and slim can wear them. Other cowls have nothing built in to protect you from revealing everything when you make certain movements…..like bending over. This cowl has none of those problems. It has a nice fit through the body, and the amount of cowl and how far down it drapes is all controlled by the amount of fabric in the cowl and the seam under the bust. There is also an attached TANK piece so it doesn’t matter how you move or how deep you bend over…..you will always feel covered and protected. You can see Jac bending over playing croquet, that her chest is well covered. Imagine how the top would look without the extra tank piece. I know she wouldn’t wear it playing croquet!……………The cowl is also a very versatile piece, and has many uses…….day, night, casual or dressy, it can become an important special piece in your go to wardrobes…….Why not a pretty cowl instead of a T shirt? It’s pretty, feminine, and a nice change. The colors avail., thought in broken sizes, are Hemp, Aqua, Flamingo and Navy. Unfortunately the colors on the QVC Linea site do not do them justice…..my photos are more accurate……..The OPEN FRONT CARDIGAN, A233957, is a wonderful LIGHT WEIGHT piece to wear over everything. Since it comes in the same colors as the cowl it makes the perfect set. You can even where it wrapped around your body and tied in the back for a new wrap top…..so you see the cardigan has multi purposes and multi ways to wear it……………I truly believe they are worth…..another LOOK…………………………..

Thanks for posting this, Louis, definitely getting the flamingo skirt now. I am wondering how the cowl-neck tank works over fuller bustlines, I’m very taken with the navy, but as a 36J, I’m always hesitant. Thanks again.

Dear Rochelle, maybe one of the ladies who own it can tell you. I believe Kate is similar to you in size, and I believe she owns this in navy, that’s if memory serves???

Thanks. The QVC forums format has changed and I can’t find posts or threads very easily anymore. I also 4’11” so that creates several challenges.

Are there any product videos where a model is wearing the FJ cardigan? I really need to see it on a person. I find myself wanting something in the flamingo color. I made myself put down a headband in that color today—I have short hair!

Dear Teri, the entire Feather Jersey group was sold OLO, [on line only]. There may not be any videos. I don’t recall showing it with anything else I may have sold.

Great timing! I wore the flamingo cowl neck yesterday, and have the navy as well – love them both for all the reasons you noted. I’d forgotten there was a matching cardigan and just added the flamingo to my cart.

That’s great….with any kind of black, white, grey or navy bottom you will look smashing. It’s wise to have the cardigan to match….that will really make the top season-less.

Thank you for revisiting these. I’m going back for these open front cardigans. I miss the feather jersey and especially enjoy wearing this fabric in the summer.

    Hi again Louis!

As I said in my comment when you posted another look at the feather jersey hooded tunic, I ordered two of these cowl neck tops when I ordered the tunic (and a bunch of other items). The flamingo and hemp. Once I get them and see how they fit, I think I’ll want the other two colors. I love styles like this, especially in Florida. Cuter than a t-shirt but not fussy. Love the details you add to make it special.

My only disappointment is knowing I missed out on that necklace shown with the aqua and flamingo. Would’ve picked that up in a heartbeat!

Dear Melissa….not to worry….I have something coming in Aug that is similar. The Wave necklace you are referring to was a huge hit, and should have been reordered because it was a sell out and had very low returns, but mine is not to reason why. I call the necklace the Dingle Dangle necklace….have no idea what the Q will be calling it.If you find you like the cowl neck when you get it and try it on….I do recommend the matching open front cardigan, but wait until you see if the cowl works.

      1. Melissa

Wonderful news! I look forward to the Dingle Dangle necklace!! 🙂 I will be stalking the Q for it, hoping it arrives a little early. Am getting married Aug. 30th so your August show is going to be a busy time for me – don’t want to miss out on the goodies you’ll have to offer.

      2. Melissa

Oops – forgot to mention I’ll definitely be considering the matching cardigan. Expecting delivery today of my milano and ottoman sweaters. 🙂

          Congratulations!……..

            Thank you Louis!

I lost my precious husband the day after I turned 43. Quite unexpected – complications after heart surgery that was supposed to extend his life, not take it. We were joined at the hip for 17 wonderful years so I was incredibly lost and empty without him, to say the least.

Long story short, I certainly wasn’t looking for anyone but God put someone in my life at the right time who made me feel a sense of happiness I never thought I’d feel again. As hard as it is to understand, I have to believe things happen for a reason. My cousin (who is like a sister) sent me this quote:

“If life can remove someone you never dreamed of losing, it can replace them with someone you never dreamt of having.”

So, it’s a bit bittersweet that I’m getting married again, but I’m moving onward with the strength of my late husband’s spirit inside me.

Sorry to get so mushy, it’s a rather emotional time for me, but there is a purpose in me sharing this with you. I had many dark sleepless nights when I turned on the tv, looking for some sort of comfort/distraction. For a time, I could only watch a few sitcoms – Everybody Loves Raymond and Big Bang Theory, or Food Network or QVC. It was one of those times on QVC that I came across your clothing and have been hooked ever since. At the time it was retail therapy I needed, now it is building a new wardrobe for my new beginning…

            1. louis dell'olio

Dear Melissa, thank you so much for sharing such an intimate sorry with me. I truly believe, as I’m sure you do, we never lose anyone, they are always right beside us. I also am a strong believer that there are no accidents in life. We certainly don’t have the answers, and “why” can be daunting, but there is a reason for everything. I am very privileged to be, in a very small way, a part of your new beginning.I wish you much happiness.

            2. Melissa

There wasn’t a “reply” option to your post so not sure where this will show up.

Anyway, your words rang so true with me. Thank you so much for the supportive sentiments!

Melissa- Your story touched me. When my dear Mother passed away it was my TV shopping “friends”
who were a welcome diversion. Sorry for your loss, but I sincerely wish you much happiness in the
              future.
