“SNEAK PEEK #7”

Sneak Peek #7 is A221792, a brushed cotton “PEA JACKET”. First, there is nothing more American Sportswear than a Pea jacket, and one of my favorite types of jackets. For me, it is as important as a trench, safari, or military type jacket. It’s that wonderful combination of masculine and feminine which I fine very sexy. The fabric is my brushed cotton/span quality, like my blazer with the zipper trims all around it, or the blazer with the gunmetal buttons and zipper pockets [both reorders for 2012]. For my southern ladies and my snow birds, this will be a great outerwear jacket right now. For the ladies in the colder climes this can be worn as a blazer just as the other two blazers are worn. This jacket is fully lined in my beautiful satin lining. The details on this jacket are endless. First, the BUTTONS……..this is my new SIGNATURE button and the quality is superb! They are slightly domed and have four “Ls” pierced through. There are TWELVE buttons on each jacket plus a spare on the inside. LADIES…..please make sure your buttons are sewn on securely!!! and put the extra button in a safe place. This Pea jacket has body seams front and back so it has a lovely shape….not tight, but an easy….follow the lines of the body shape. There are straps on the sleeve that button with the new signature button and there are epaulettes on the shoulders that also have the new button. The pockets are in the seam, but if you look at the green photo in the upper left, you will notice there is also a set in band to accentuate the pocket opening. This is an extra design detail that most would have left off. There is also a back belt, again with the signature buttons! I spared nothing on this Pea Jacket! ! The colors are Green, Ivory and Cobalt. There are so MANY ways to wear this jacket….dress slacks, JEANS, pencil skirts, pleated skirts Capri pants, shorts and it looks incredible with my printed chain print and floral print pencil skirts…..I could keep going on and on but I think you get the idea. I have my WK red turtle neck, the “Kate” shirt in chambray blue and the new navy boat neck sweater from sneak peek #5 in the photos above. Of course, my GOLD CHAIN NECKLACES and BRACELETS were made to go with these jackets. I can’t close without mentioning…..this is one of JAC’S PICKS…..she LOVES this classic all American Pea Jacket…..I hope you will too!…………much Love, Louis

    Louis,

“The fabric is my brushed cotton/span quality, like my blazer with the zipper trims all around it, or the blazer with the gunmetal buttons and zipper pockets [both reorders for 2012]” … BOTH reordered … yippee! Look forward to hearing the color choices on the one with the gunmetal buttons and zipper pockets; my favorite jacket!! Or at least until this new Pea Coat arrives :))) LOVE that brushed cotton, now to decide on the Pea Coat color … colors …

Would you say the green and cobalt are accurate as best you can tell, on the sneak peek? I’m leaning toward the cobalt, but then I think I recall something about spring and denim coming up … ah, Louis, such decisions you give us. And now that lovely coral tunic with the fun neckline …

    Thanks,

    Cathy

      Dear Cathy,
I would say they are pretty accurate. Due to the flash the colors are a little deeper, but the shade of color is close.

Get outta here! That ivory is mine–I could travel for 2 weeks with this as my only jacket: dress up or down! It will go with everything! And those buttons are crying for a coordinating print in a blouse–maybe a long sleeve cotton lawn??? Pretty please????

Oh, Louis, don’t tell my husband but I’m now in love with a jacket – in all three colors!
I note you’re calling this blue ‘cobalt’ as opposed to your famous deep navy. Is it enough lighter in shade to coordinate with, say, your navy sateen crops from last year?

Thanks again for all you do.

    Hi

Is this a true “Ivory” or more “white” i.e. would it work with your Ivory Pants from a year or two ago?

How is the fit through the hips – is this a fitted jacket? I am concerned about the length relative to my hips as to how to size this one.

Fantastic! I see that you show all 3 buttoned up. Guessing it looks just as fabulous unbuttoned? I’m thinking the ivory, I’m mostly classic…but then there’s times I have to let a little of the wild side out.LOL Just a little…
    Thanks Louis, you’re a genious.

Just when you think that nothing else will tempt you!! LOL I love those buttons– how creative is that? I think I like the white the best of the 3 coats.

Tory Burch only wishes her buttons were that cool! I must have the white (to wear with dark jeans or a black pencil skirt)and the cobalt (to wear with cropped white jeans). LDO, I thought you killed it with fall 2011, but spring 2012 is AMAZING.

Love the jackets, and the signature buttons! I like the cobalt with the Kate shirt and the jewelry. Boy am I glad I have the jewelry. Does Jac have a favorite color on this one?

I don’t think she has made up her mind, but she is very classic so I’s bet on the ivory….maybe the cobalt……

You have got to be kidding with those new signature buttons–are you trying to kill us? They are magnificent! I can see them turned into a signature necklace/bracelet, too. And how on earth are we to chose one color of this jacket? The ivory with the black zipper pencil skirt; the green with the aquamarine shirt dress; the cobalt with your new denim whatever that is promised to be on the way. I’m a goner. These are perfect for me to wear RIGHT NOW as outerwear.
