Sneak Peek #7 is the BATIK DRESS, A232516. So many of you have asked me to do a new version of the maxi dress, A224712. The request was ….SHORTER…..&…..SLEEVES………..This is my answer to you. This dress is the exact body of the maxi dress. It has set in border trims, which are a different pattern from the dress………and the addition of an added border to the hem of the  3/4 length sleeve. It is in the same 91% polyester, 9% spandex as the maxi, so it is the same easy care, wash and wear….packable dress. If you’re flying somewhere, and you don’t have time to make a big change for a date after you have landed……… say…from the plane to the boardroom….keep this in your carry on….make a quick change in the bathroom and you’re ready to go. The dress has a side zipper for easy on and off. The colors are…………….GREEN………………BROWN………………RED………………that is a very simplified description of the colors. The RED is a deep rich red with WHITE and TANGERINE. The GREEN is a SPRUCE GREEN with WHITE and SPEARMINT GREEN, and the BROWN is an ESPRESSO with BARK BROWN and WHITE. The fit is the same as the maxi, so what ever size you were comfortable in….I would recommend ordering the same size.. This looks like a very simple dress, but all of the inset bands around the neckline, the torso and the sleeve are all the added touches you would expect to find on a dress 4 times the price…………..The print comes from my archives and is a beautiful BATIK wood block print……painstakingly reproduced. ……………………………………..ATTENTION!!!!! This dress will NOT be on my 5am or 1pm shows…………………I will be presenting it on the MORNING SHOW with PAT and JAYNE, which starts at 6am….right after my 5am show. I do not know what exact time I am scheduled to be on……………….This is easy dressing at it’s simplest…nothing to think about….slip it on….add a few accessories…….. sandals…..a tote…..sunglasses and your ready to greet the day!……………….

March Sneak Peek #5 is the PHOENIX BIRD PRINT SHIRT, A232513. You all know the story of the Phoenix…….the bird that rose from the ashes……my patron bird…. LOL. All kidding aside, I LOVE this print. It is an ancient archival print that I stumbled upon, some time ago, in one of my Art History books. Last spring/summer, Gucci had their major ad campaign featuring a girl resting against a stucco wall covered in tropical flowers. She was wearing a bird print shirt and slim pant……maybe you remember it? I thought it looked very fresh and a great way to wear print. I had this print in my files, remembered it, and pulled it out. I found the perfect fabric…..a SUPER LIGHT WEIGHT cotton blend……..97%cotton and 3% spandex………….YES……… COTTON. This is the most comfortable fabric you can wear when the heat and humidity becomes unbearable.

The shirt is a classic one. It has a classic collar with stand, and a button front. It has a two button cuff with a sleeve placket and button for that extra mens wear detail. The bottom is curved, which I think is very flattering especially on curvy women and the shirt has body darts to control the fullness without be tight……….Remember…….. this shirt has STRETCH! The color above is the ………SUNSHINE YELLOW……….and I have paired it with the sunshine yellow denim skirt, but it will go with many many things………of course it’s perfect with anything INDIGO and WHITE………..and maybe you already own a pair of colored crop pants or Capris that would be perfect with one of the colors in the shirt. This shirt can also have double duty as a SHIRT JACKET……roll up the sleeves pick a coordinating tank, and you are ready to go. As I said before, I really love everything about this print. It definitely has a VERTICAL MOVEMENT, which is also very flattering…………Above all else…..it is just plain………….FUN!…………scroll down for the additional colors………..enjoy……much Love………..Louis

March Sneak Peek #5 continued, shows J232513, the PHOENIX PRINT SHIRT, in the two additional colors………………….INDIGO……………&…………TOBACCO………… There is definitely an ethnic look to the print, but where is it from….India….Java….Indonesia?……….or somewhere else?………..The Tobacco color makes a comeback and is the same color as the shrug and tank as well as the tobacco cotton sateen jacket and crop pant from seasons past. There are beautiful blues, spice orange, magenta, black and a wonderful gold to accent the tobacco. …….The INDIGO has turquoise, lime, hot pink, electric blue and WHITE. All of the WK layering pieces in the hot pink and tangerine are part of my “on line only” group…..I believe, coming in April…………The jewelry……J270116, is the perfect chandelier earring that works will ALL of these print colors and more prints and solids to come…..it is FUN……..NOT HEAVY AT ALL…..and says SUMMER. The seed bead necklace is coming in July………Wear the shirt as a jacket or tuck it into the matching pant for a jumpsuit look…..I know that kind of look isn’t or everyone….but ….for those of you who can carry it off…..it looks splendid and on trend…….roll up the sleeves…..layer some beads…..sandals…….sunglasses……. a large straw tote and the look is complete…………SCROLL DOWN FOR SNEAK PEEK # 6……………………………………………………enjoy……………………much Love……………….Louis

March Sneak Peek #6 is the A232514, the PHOENIX PRINT CROP PANT. The pant has an inseam of 25 inches. It has a slim leg with small side slits at the bottom. It has a zip front with a single button on the waist band. The front is totally FLAT, while the back has a FULL ELASTIC. What makes these pants fabulous is the PRINT and the WEIGHT of the fabric. They are actually WEIGHT-LESS, and I know you will be wanting this fabric in more prints and SOLID colors. The minute I saw the samples….I new these were going to be the most comfortable pants I have ever made. Again, the fabric is 97% COTTON and 3% Spandex. The colors are the same as the shirt………….INDIGO,,,…….TOBACCO…………….SUNSHINE YELLOW………… The necklace on the NAVY MOCK NECK, which is part of my WK on line program. is coming in July, and is the second color way…..incorporating gold, and tortoise seed beads. The beads on the tobacco are from my collection, but after I took the pictures, I realized my amber/wine beads are PERFECT with this print, and they are what I will be showing in the show. If you missed out on the black tank, pictured above, fear not, a V-neck sleeveless in black is coming!…………If you have never had or tried a printed pant…..it’s definitely time to step out of the BOX. March Sneak Peek #4, is the WHISPER KNIT BOLERO SHRUG, A232520. There are certain types of garments that easily cross over from the “wants” to the “MUST HAVES”. Shrugs, in all of their guises, is one of those garments. Shrugs, season after season. have become more and more important……the reason is simple. They are not only “fashion right” but they are very practical. You can fold one up and keep it in your tote for when you will need it. They come in many shapes but the “TRUE” shrug shape is the one I’m bringing you this month. They are the perfect cover up, to be used over any sleeveless or cap sleeve top or dress…….they act as an extension of the garment beneath. With the matching tank, A232345, it is the NEW SWEATER SET. Wear them matched, wear them mixed…wear them with other sweater you own…black over tobacco or the other way around is absolutely beautiful……they will work perfectly with all the new WK that are coming! The Whisper Knit makes it a perfect YEAR ROUND “jacket”. For those of you with a more casual life style, it works……….for those of you who need something to ward off the evening summer chill or the inevitable air conditioner blowing on you in a restaurant or work………it works. For evening………..it works over any and all sleeveless dresses…………………………..The colors…………………BLACK…………………..IVORY…………………..TOBACCO……………….Do not over look the TOBACCO color…..it is a terrific warm earthy color, and those that own the tobacco cotton sateen crop pant, know exactly what I am talking about. I will also have prints on the March and April shows that work beautifully with this color.
