“A VARIETY OF MATERIALS”

…………….Chapter #7……………The show had a variety of metals, woods, and different materials….in wonderfully different patinas, that were utilized to make this huge variety of objects…..The colors of the metals was very varied too…..The sculptures were mostly in wood but there were also quite a few carved out of stone…..I LOVED the pierced wooden panel. I wasn’t sure what it was made for….but I would use it to hang on a wall, or as part of a three panel screen, with the pierced section being the middle panel…I think it was perfection!

………………Chapter #6……….There were so many objects to feast your eyes upon.  The incredible masks, and the costume at lower left were just incredible….The double doors, second photo in from the upper right, had crocodiles and snakes carved into them…..and the cabinet lower right, was fabulous……The poor guy with the sad white eyes and all of the nails sticking out of him reminded me of VOODOO DOLLS!…The little odd twins are adorable, and reminded me of cartoon characters…..wonder what they were for….maybe a child’s dolls?

……………………..I was invited to join Tina, and Abel to celebrate Frank’s Birthday……..The dinner was at “ROBERT’S”, a wonderful restaurant at the top of 2 Columbus Circle…..with the most incredible views of the park, Columbus Circle, and up town on the west side……Dinner was called for 7:00pm, and when we left almost three hours later the city lights were ablaze!…..I noticed on one of the roof tops of another building, a party was going on [I zoomed in for the picture]…..The food is always good at Roberts, but the deserts were outstanding….I had the lemon meringue cheese cake……good….but not as good as my Lemon Cheesecake!….There were little squares of chocolate mousse “birthday” cakes that were scrumptious….Frank had the Mango whatever. Since I’m not a fan of Mango or Papaya I wasn’t even tempted to take the offered bite……………Frank, my fellow LEO….made another successful trip around the SUN!……….Congratulations.

…………………….Chapter #5………..I had moved through quite a lot of the exhibit when I came across many cases filled with…..GOLD OBJECTS…….To be honest I wasn’t sure if I had left the African part of the exhibit and wandered into the South American section?…..The pieces looked more Aztec or Columbian to me, and I didn’t think Africa was particularly known for GOLD……What ever the origin they were MAGNIFICENT!…..There were many masks and interesting cups, and some jewelry……..Again, I would have loved to own any one of them!
