………………….Everything about Hydra was inspirational…………the colors, the doorways and the potted plants were all picture perfect. You need good walking shoes, and there are a lot of hills to climb!

…………………If you are looking for beautiful sandy beaches, Hydra may not be the island for you. The beaches that are there….aren’t great, and the best swimming and sunbathing is off the large flat rocks or the cement patios….If RED FLAGS were up, photo at lower left, swimming could be hazardous…..The stinging jelly fish were rare…..but did come in on certain tides. We were also told ships from foreign waters brought them in in their ballasts…..The food especially the sea food was fabulous!

……………The sites of Hydra……..The island has many different looks depending where you go. Since there are no cars and the only means of transportation are your feet, a donkey or a boat…….it truly is an island to explore.

I’m not sure when this picture was taken, maybe 5 or 6 years ago at a Greek restaurant in NYC. We were having dinner with our good friend Brenda Vaccaro. Her friend, can’t remember his name, stopped by for a drink after the show on Broadway he works at ended for the night…..Jac and I met Brenda at least  25 years ago…. I was doing a fashion show at Lincoln Center, and she was in a Broadway show , “Jake’s Women” ???? She came with some of the other actress in the show. She was staying at a very good friend of her’s apt…..Lee Grant, another fabulous actress. We met Lee and her husband Joey through Brenda, and for years Jac and I were invited to Lee’s New Years Eve party on the west side of NYC in the 90s. They had a huge old apt and always filled it with the most interesting people…..There were always a slew of actress and actors writers and directors and producers at her parties. Who ever was in town from the west coast she would invite. Lee and Joey new everyone!!!! We, as fashion people, were like fish out of water, but we always met and talked with the most amazing people…..The list would go on and on and on…… Brenda always has the best stories!!! She dated Michael Douglas for many years, and they were friends with Jack Nicholson, and that wild bunch. I haven’t seen her in quite a while, but she always made us laugh!
